Ok so recently i got hooked on Pokemon after i picked up my brothers old gameboy pocket and Pokemon yellow. I bought Pokemon black. Now i want to buy another game, one that can be played on a ds (e.g ds and gameboy advanced games).

The list of handheld pokemon games are:
GameBoy Color

Red, Blue, Green (JA, only) - September 30, 1998
Yellow - October 19, 1999
Gold & Silver - October 15, 2000
Crystal - July 29, 2001
GameBoy Advanced

Ruby & Sapphire - March 17, 2003
LeafGreen and FireRed - September 7, 2004
Emerald - May 1, 2005
Nintendo DS

Diamond & Pearl - April 22, 2007
Platinum - March 22, 2009
HeartGold & SoulSilver - March 14, 2010
Black & White - March 6th, 2011

I guess i could buy a gameboy color game for my brothers gameboy pocket, but i like the trading/poketransfer features available on only ones playable on ds. So i like the firered/leafgreen because of the lengendary dogs ( suicune, entei, and raikou), i like emerald for rayquaza, but i looove soul silver because it has the possibility of catching practically every significant legendary pokemon ever (although you would need to do a couple of valuable trades to pull it off). any input is really appreciated, what you think of the games, which ones you have, which ones you prefer, etc. Ill be ordering off amazon, and the prices a pretty good. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me which one i should get thanks so so so so so much :)

The best choice would be not 1, but 3 games imo, if that is possible to you (prices of some should be really cheap though). You could get HG/SS, so you can get Lugia,Ho-Oh, Suicune, Entei, Raikou, Kyogre/Groundon, Latias/Latios, Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mewtwo, the starters and a lot of other cool Pokémon. After that if you can get Emerald than you can fullfil the first 3 Generation Legendaries with Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Rayquaza, Kyogre/Groudon and Latias/Latios. Then, in order to complete the generations of Legendaries and other Pokédex, you can grab Platinum and get all the rest of the Legendaries, Palkia, Dialga, Giratina, Regigigas, Cresselia, etc :b

It was not quite what you asked, sorry, but if I was on your situation I would probably work a bit to buy these 3 games instead of having to pick only one x]

Heart Gold or Soul Silver.
It's got a lot of fun things going on in it and it's a lot like playing two games in one.
That's my suggestion.
The old Generation games are fun but anything that is pre-4th gen can not be played online and I personally think that online play is what breathes life into the newer games even after you've beaten everything in the main storyline.

Apparently you've posted this three times elsewhere. Plus you have enough answers to satisfy you methinks. It's really all down to your choice though! But I strongly recommend HeartGold/SoulSilver and/or Black/White. :) If you have more questions regarding what game you should get, feel free to ask me, ask in Q&A threads for the games you're considering, or even ask the members that have answered here in the thread (hopefully they won't mind).
