You buy a cd, download it, etc and you notice it's album art. You enjoy it. You enjoy it a LOT. What are some of your favorite album covers?
Likewise, you're going to a cinema. You see some posters for movies and you think "Damn, those are so fine." thats what i would think ok What are some of your favorite movie posters?
Spoiler:
I really like the Pulp Fiction moive poster, it's a perfect addition to the perfection that is Pulp Fiction. I like The Little Mermaid's poster, omg. The V for Vendetta poster doesn't have to be explained, it's just... V for Vendetta. And there's a few more I like as well.
Not much explanation needed. If you don't find it beautiful, then something is the matter with you!! The content within is just as stunning.
I should say, that I do tend to judge things by the cover. If the cover is interesting, I'm intrigued, and will likely buy it and have a sort of run with it. That's what I did with ArchAndroid. I saw it on iTunes, and forgot about it. Then I went to Target looking to buy music. Saw it sitting there. It reminded me of Egypt, which was something I was intrigued of. So I bought it without listening to it. Slapped it in the CD player in the car and spent all summer listening to it. It's by far one of the best, most diverse, and most beautifully written (and composed) albums I've ever listened to.
I don't know why, but ever since I laid eyes on this album cover I've been having a hard time not staring at it. There's just something about it that just captivates me. I'm trying to get my hands on the painting though. x3
What can I say? It's fairly simple but it's really nice to look at. I adore the colour scheme and the texture used, and I the like the lone girl walking across the road - she manages to stand out from the background whilst still fitting in with the colour scheme of the cover. The album itself is wonderful and I would recommend it if you like acoustic and piano music.
Like Patchisou Yutohru, I also tend to judge things by the cover which I really shouldn't do. I'm sure I've missed tons of good albums due to not listening to them because they had mediocre or bad album art.
Here's some more album covers I like:
Spoiler:
RED by ALiCE'S EMOTiON
アムリタ by D'va;;;;;;;;5
GIRLS' GENERATION by Girls' Generation
×××× the ripper by Plug::8
AD:155 by Diverse System
Homeland by s10rw
As for movie posters, I'm afraid I don't have any favourites as I don't pay much attention to them.
I have no favorite movie posters, so I'm just on albums here. It's a lot, sorry.
Kings of Leon - Because of the Times
Spoiler:
Not only one of my favorite albums by KoL, and of all time, but the album art...I don't know. There's something beautiful I find about the moment when glass is shattered. And, obviously, that's what's going on here. The fact that the light bulb is on makes it all the better.
Black Sun Empire - Driving Insane
Spoiler:
Does that not just creep you the hell out? I love it! It scares people when they look through cover flow on my iPod.
The Mars Volta - De-loused in the Comatorium
Spoiler:
When I downloaded this album, I cannot tell you how long I stared at the album cover just thinking "what the **** am I looking at?"
Washed Out - Within And Without
Spoiler:
There's something serene about it. I don't know. It makes me want a lover. I just like this album cover.
The War On Drugs - Future Weather
Spoiler:
If you don't see the beauty in this one, then well um go away. It's one of my favorite album covers, and gives me peace of mind, as well as the songs from it.
I do believe that's all. Sorry the sizes are inconsistent, lol.
I found this randomly in a shop one day. I have no idea how they got their hands on it, but being one of my favorite movies and not being that one green image that's all over the place I had to get it. It makes me want to paint my room red.
This is like my favorite album cover of all time. Stripped by Christina Aguilera, all I can say is that it's very simple, black and white, but it's actually pretty iconic in the way I look at it. ^^
