Did you participate in contests during your play-throughs?
Usually, but I really got serious in contests after the Elite Four, just so that I can dedicate more time into it. Also, I find that breeding natures and egg moves help a lot.
Did you enjoy the contests? Did you win often? Did you ever fill up the Gallery at Liliycove?
Yes, contests were really fun. I won a lot, and eventually filled up the entire gallery. It was kind of funny how the most useless moves from the beginning of the game (tackle, growl, etc.) were so good in contests.
Did you go out of your way to create Pokémon with great combo moves and a great condition?
Of course, otherwise it would be hard to win. Getting the right combos were pretty big here, like with Rain Dance + Hydro Pump combo was used a lot for me.
If so, was it fun and/or challenging?
It was fun, and usually challenging. I noticed a trend that there would usually be a guy with the Porygon always using Recycle, a random jammer who doesn't bother getting points, and another person who is the person who actually tries getting stars, or the person who uses Explosion/Destiny Bond two turns in.
Pokéblocks: were they a good idea?
I loved it, and how they were how Feebas evolved. That was an interesting game function. They were fun to make too, even though I could never get more than about 7 perfect O's in a single blender game. Also, it was fun to actually grow berries around, though if I'd change the berry thing, I'd think it would've been more fun if they made a garden around your character's house. That way, I wouldn't forget to harvest a few.
