As the title said, what do you think is the most forgettable move?

I think it is barrage, being exclusive to Exeggcute and Exeggutor, and Electroweb, for its exclusiveness to our beloved Electric-Bug Pokemon.

What's yours?

Those early stat changing moves like Growl, Tail Whip, and Leer. I don't know of anyone who bothers to keep those moves for very long.

Then there's Detect, which is just Protect with fewer PP. Until the Special/Physical split in 4th gen, Waterfall was just Surf's weaker cousin.

Also, weak power moves like Poison Sting, Leech Life, etc. They also get deleted from my movesets without me giving them a second thought.

Some of these are really surprising. Growl? I think even the most casual Pokemon game fan could tell you the effect of that one and would recognize it. Whirlpool was an HM, there aren't that many of those, so how is it forgettable?

I think the OP has the right idea with signature moves of uncommon Pokemon, such as Present. I had never even heard of that move before I saw it just now on Bulbapedia, because it's Delibird's signature move and who uses Delibird?

Agreed with Barrage, Electroweb and Leech Life.

Either way, there's an attack called Drill Run...? And Relic Song...? Include Searing Shot and Shift Gear too. And wtf Techno Blast? Tail Slap can be included too!!

Gen 4, haven't heard of Double Hit, or Crush Grip. Gen 1, Egg Bomb, Guillotine, Roling Kick and Twineedle. Buuut yeah, gen 2/3 I generally have a handle of because those attacks appear a lot in battling.

Barrage, Present, Egg Bomb, freaking QUASH. Most useless signature moves are forgettable, really. Cause I mean, who honestly keeps Barrage on the Exeggutor or Present on their Delib-- well, who even USES Delibird in the first place? And then Quash is just...why? Just why?

Definetly quash, how is it helpfull at all. Also only murkrow and Honchkrow can learn it and they aren't even in the game until after the E4.
Also storm throw, many of you probably don't even know what this move is. It's Throh's signature move and is exactly the same as frost breath, it is allways a critical hit.

Oh! Those Guard moves in gen V!! They're useless unless you're in a triple battle, and that so rarely happens in game. idk about Battle Subway or online battles but yeah. That Quick Guard, umm...see, I can't even remember the names. v_v

I have to disagree with Elite Overlord LeSabre. I think that growl, tail whip, and leer are some of the most memorable moves out there. Though we ditch them as soon as we find better stat changers, we usually all start off with em very often and early in every single game.

But with what Forever said, I have never once in my life heard of Electroweb, Drill Run, Searing Shot, Techno Blast, or Tail Slap. The rest you mentioned though, I have actually heard of em.

I forgot Present. :| Further proving that it is the most forgettable move ever made.

I have to agree with sherreamethyst. Those stat-lowering moves by the early game critters is really memorable. remember the first time you ever played handheld Pokemon? there will always be a tail whip or growl or leer in your team. because of your starter. how can you forget that? :(

Quash? there is a move named Quash?

I never even heard of drill run, techno blast, electroweb, quash or relic song until I saw this thread.

I always thought magma storm was forgettable, it's just fire blast with fire spin's effect so it's still useless with a mere 70 accuracy.

How is leech life forgettable, that was like Alakazam killer in R/B/Y?

Most of the new Gen V moves IMO. ;-; Quick & Wide Guard, Snarl, Electroweb, Rage Powder, Storm Throw, Soak, Guard & Power Split, Wonder Room, Magic Room, Entertainment, After You, Simple Beam and many others. I don't really forget the past moves since I've used nearly all of them. The Gen V moves are the most forgettable, especially Rage Powder, I didn't even know that existed until I looked on Serebii lmao.

There was this one move that was so forgettable... but it was so forgettable that I can't seem to remember it... XD

There's a move called Quash? I'd heard of most of the other ones (including Present), but that was the only one thus far that I had to completely look up. I guess I'd forgotten about the Murkrow line in general... never used one, so would never really come into contact with that particular move.

Didn't know that there was a move called Barrage, remember getting this move from Metronome while I was playing D/P, and did not know who learned it. Apparently, the move is part of Exeggute line, and they do not gain any stab from the move. :p .. The others are Kinsesis, Tri-Attack, Octazooka, Minimize.

I don't know about Squash but know one that is quite similar: Crush Grip. It's the signature move of Regigigas. I saw that move only once in the anime. You can see that move if you face a Regigigas in any fourth gen game (soul silver)

The move that I forget is the Destiny Bond. Pretty handy but it has got it's own tricks -.-
