Don't agree with the way they approached the guy but comer on! If you've done these things in the past they'll catch up with you. I don't know what the policies are regarding workers with a porn past.
Umm... what's wrong with staring in a porn movie? It's a legitimate occupation and nothing to be ashamed of. Heck, the money involved in that industry is such that I'm surprised more people aren't signing up! Only the prudish, or the sexually repressed would be so offended by a person being in a porn flick as to raise a stink over this. Considering the past antics of Fox, I'm not in the least surprised that they'd do something like this.

I mean, come on. We're talking about a corporation run by someone who is so afraid of gays that he literally bomb-proofed his office for fear that gay rights activists would bomb his office over his network's negative portrayal of the LGBT community.

I'll admit that FOX is the reason the students know about it, but any news outlet would report this if they found it out. It makes for a juicy news story. That's how networks make their money. This has nothing to do with hatred of any specific group of people.
No, any news outlet that I would ever support would consider journalistic responsibility. Most journalists actually do consider the consequences of their actions, much like most people who actually live lawful lives. Being short-sighted is not an excuse and the station should be punished for publicly executing someone who has not stood trial.

If he is fired, the reporter and anyone that green-lighted the story should be as well. If he cannot find work because of the story, the government should blacklist them from the journalism industry. If some wacko shoots him (not likely, but it could happen), they should get a prison sentence for inciting a homicide.

This is not kindergarten. You are responsible for your actions. Being a newscaster, a celebrity, a police officer, a politician, or a lawyer does not make you immune to this (I named these as examples of people who often think they need not heed the consequences of their actions).

I praise the school's response and it really made me happy that people came out in support of him so much. All this nonsense over alleged non-crimes; at least the students didn't stand for it. What he does within the bounds of the law in his private life should be no concern of the administration; he's not going around handing out porno. Just ridiculous.

I disagree that FOX is based against LGBT issues. FOX was one of the leading networks to humiliate the Westboro loons. It was Hannity, specifically.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UMP3AK5jwo

They only condemned their actions because of the military pickets. Of course they are not going to back anti-military religious groups! If that is the only story that shows support for the LGBT community, then I think you should rethink that statement. You know as well as I do that Fox News has always supported "traditional" and "Christian" values, while either condemning or ignoring gay issues.

Here are just a few hosts, probably among others, that specified that homosexuality is immoral and/or gay marriage is a sham while on Fox new and while appearing in other media outlets..

- Huckabee
- Glen Beck
- Bill O'rielly
- John Gibson
- Sean Hannity

As I said before, there are some biases on CNN on other issues, but there is no doubt that FOX News is against gay rights.

This man's carrer and life just got ruined. I feel sad for the guy.

Pathetic journalist. Basically he assumes that former porn stars are child abusers, and deserve to have his or her life ruined. I hope Beaudet (journalist) is the one who gets fired from his job. (though not going to happen because FOX loves sensationalism)

I'm tired of the PDA here that everyone is against gays. For goodness sakes porn is porn. If it was woman in straight acts it would still be bad. You know full well of your past and you enter an occupation where it could really damage your prospects if it came out. He should have known better. Whatever happens to him happens, good or bad. A shame it came out but it did. And all this Fox propaganda, I agree actually, but arguments are to one-sided and certain people get flamed.

Oh, Fox News. Another leach off of the horrid empire that is Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. I bet they have some of the News of the World reporters working for them now after their paper got the ax. Those guys are pros in digging real deep into the lives of people. News of the World phone hacking scandals, anyone? Sadly, real journalism seems to be dead, replaced with sensationalistic garbage.

Now about this guy who is a supposed porno star, I'm surprised that the student body is supporting him. He must be a great teacher to have that support for him at a time like this.

Porn is a perfectly valid form of entertainment, and being employed in the porn industry is a perfectly legal occupation. Okay, we get it. You don't like porn. But saying porn is bad only applies to you. That's your personal belief. It's not a universal belief by far, a fact that is supported by the millions the porn industry rakes in every year. If there is a demand for a product, it'll be made. And sex sells... a lot.

A lot of people go into the adult entertainment business to feed themselves while paying off any loans or just feeding the family and keeping them warm. Sure it may be demeaning to some people but it's the only way they can stay alive.

Valid or not there will be backlash. But some are just insisting it's the sexuality. It isn't.
It actually, really is. Fox's track record of civil rights is horrendous, and this just validates what's already been said.

Well the media as a whole loves sensationalism.
Though it is upsetting that they ruined the guys reputation and possibly his career. Though I'm sure if he was in hetero porn he would be in as much trouble as he is now with the school much like the female school teacher mentioned earlier.

It's sad that we always have to defend FOX from the slander from the left, but I digress.

New outlets are corporations. They make their money by keeping high ratings. To do that, they get juicy, sensationalized stories to attract viewers. I believe that the only duty a corporation has are to its shareholders.

That being said, FOX has every right to report on this story. If the students don't find it an issue, that's great.

Isn't it our 1st amendment right to criticize a major media outlet, like Fox News? Of course they have the right to report this story; they have the right to do a story about a local little league team, but we have the right to scrutinize their choices.

Agreed with Sydian, the dichotomy of the left and the right only further entertains the concept of partisanship, which never leads to a constructive solutions.

Not everyone is lucky enough to go to College or even finish High School and without a good education it's harder to find a job so people can find themselves in the porn industry that way. Also some people are quite open minded and just want to explore new things and porn can be one of those things, there's nothing wrong with that at all. You may not like it and if so, don't watch it and don't participate in it. Society going down the toilet and porn have nothing in common.

This brings up an interesting concept.

I hear so many people tell me that things just are not the way that they used to be, or that society is becoming more corrupt and immoral. Let's get a reality check. Are we saying that the 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's were better? A time in which women, gays, blacks, and everyone else that was not white/male/straight did not have much of a voice in society. Sure, the black and white film depicted very proper, idealistic, moral and "normal" families, like the Cleavers and the Brady's. But the world was bigoted, oppressive, more crime/domestic disputes ignored, ect. OR should we go back any further when we had slavery, zero free speech, limited religious freedoms, little or no ability to overcome class systems, and the list goes on and on. I don't know what people are referring to when they say "the good old days". I think that our modern world is so much better today than it has been in the past. Never could a biracial or gay couple hold hands down the street, never could a woman/black have a job and vote for their government, never could you criticize the leadership of government openly. We are living in the "good days", or at least "the best days" of human existence. Frankly, I could care less if porn/nightlife/provocative media is more prominent today, they do explicitly harm anyone. At least slavery, lynching and some of the other harmful things I listed above are not part of the society. Porn doesn't harm anyone, if anything, it probably saves marriages, haha.

What the other two said. Plus, there is only so much money that one can make flipping burgers or in other undesirable jobs. UNTZ UNTZ = $. Yes, America is going down the toilet, but this a RESULT, not the cause. 99 percent stories, OWS, etc. etc.

Regardless of why Hogan chose to act in the films, whether it was for his enjoyment or to make ends meet, this questionable yet legal past should have no impact on whether or not he keeps his job since he obviously had the credentials.

I hope he gets fired. Sorry, but teachers, especially these days, are expected to teach some form of morality to their students. I wouldn't trust this man to do the correct job of it. Due to his past actions, I would consider him to be completely unsuitable for teaching. Hell, any promiscuous person is unsuitable for the role.

It seems however that no one cares about morals so lets allow our society to descend into degeneracy, starting with our children! Let us further corrode the future of our society.

I'm mighty glad that in Catholic schools in Australia, Principals are allowed to discriminate as they see fit to ensure that the proper morals are taught to students in their school, if they choose to do so. Moral standards are what makes a society strong, throw them away, as we have, and it will become much weaker.

And so what if that Fox News reporter exposed him? If you put something on the internet you shouldn't expect it to remain private.

This brings up an interesting concept.

Yes, it was better up until the 60s. Then everything started to go downhill. I wish I could live in the 20s, would have been the best time ever.

Bashing Fox News is a favourite past time of the left, and Zet started this thread doing just that. This isn't even something that can be contested.

That said, all media outlets in the US are garbage, so it's not worth defending any of them.

Yay more stupid bigotry and sensationalism from Fox!

And now this man's life is ruined because of it.
Well typically, that man didn't care about his life if he joined a gay porno movie.

I'm not sure what to say here.. We SHOULD be againist homosexuality, as the bible suggests only procreative sex, but in no way be that harsh and intense.
