Hi there sector revenge! Welcome to the club.

and yes. Dark will dominate them Psychic-types. Too bad for the mind-users.
Scrafty got the luck with its fighting half. Says "ha ha Psychic, you can't touch me!"

Which mark the question. Who would win.

Wild Darkrai vs Wild Darkrai?

That's a good question, we'll never know! LOL

welcome to the club both of you.

I think we need a new topic.

Before generation IV, all Dark-type moves were special. However, the presence of powerful Dark-type moves like Crunch, Pursuit, and Thief certainly does not make Dark all that special. So: Do you think it was right to classify them as Special moves? Also, discuss anything related to Dark-type, preGenIV.

For some dark types like Houndoom it was a blessing because it had both types be special, which is the better stat. But for the likes of say Absol, it's a curse. Sure it got STAB from the dark moves, but it wasn't the better attack stat to go off of. To me it's a double edged sword.

No one minds if I answer these questions?
Spoiler:
• What is your favorite Dark-Type? Umbreon
• When did you start liking your Favorite Dark Pokemon? Sometime around 3 gen I created a Gym Leader and too be different I picked Dark since it didnt exist(and still doesn't exist) and after researching I fell in love with the type
• Favorite Dar-Type Move? Dark Pulse.
• Which is the most Underrated? Vullaby.
I think most people ignore it cause it's not as cool as Rufflet/Braviary. But I got one in a trade the other day and it has a really good movepool.

And for the new topic.
For certain moves such as Crunch ,Bite ,Faint Attack it didn't seem fair cause they appear as physical moves that would actually require contact. In Generation I Bite was a normal physical move and making it a special move sort of demoted that. And like what ShinyHoundoom said, certain Pokemon like Houndoom it was an advantage cause of it's Dark/Fire typing both types of moves were special.

Hi there Awsquared! I see you are a fellow Umbreon fan! :)

Anyway, I agree with both of you guys, but I would like to add something else. There are very few Pokemon outside Houndoom who is Dark type and could utilize the special set. In fact, I believe only Umbreon and Houndoom prior to Generation IV could actually benefit from the special set.

I agree with you here. Houndoom is a really cool Pokemon, possessing equally awesome movesets and stats. The only drawback he has is his obvious lack of keeping his weaknesses at bay.

Honchcrow had been in OU in gen IV, IIRC. He's a pretty much good Pokemon, and certainly a really welcomed Gen IV evolution.

Fighting types always seem to get the better of me, or for that matter any pokemon with the move "Focus blast". Bruno in the elite four (SS) is especially hard to get around.

Fighting is a good one, but I always seem to nto have a problem with them, especially when I am using Honchcrow. However, them bug-types, even if they are weak is really annoying me. Especially Bug Buzz. Argh.

Fighting. Most Dark types don't have the defenses or typing to take on a fighting type. Bug is not always as much of a problem most of them aren't that strong and fast enough, unless it's Heracross who is the worst of both worlds.

Heracross is a complete pain for the Dark Types. His typing is both of Dark's weaknesses. Plus STAB Close Combat, STAB Megahorn, and Earthquake is enough to counter most of the Dark Types.

Welcome to the club~ Sorry for the absence...I thought it was dead since one uneventful morning, I saw it on the very bottom of the stack, and thought it wouldn't survive...but here I was wrong, and will continue to update this now. Is relieved Two partners for each? Granted.

I don't see why they would be special however, got confused. I used to believe special moves were moves that weren't physical, such as Psychic or flamethrower...until I learned some physical attacks were special, then I flipped out around there.

Awww...that is a very cool-looking Houndoom. I used to be a fan of Houndoom...and still am actually, I guess I don't show it much: the fact it has "doom" on the name makes it epic enough.

What do you think of Dark-Type Pokemon: RAWR!! THEY ROCK!!

Welcome! I had no idea what RAWR meant until a friend told me what it actually meant. X3 Zoroark is a favorite of mine as well.

Yes, yes.

Let's have a new topic.

Which of Dark's weakness pose the greatest threat to the Dark type, in your opinion. Support you answer. Discuss.
Fighting type is a pain at times, and some bugs actually do end up nearly killing mine if they're at a decent level. I would get killed with a Focus Blast, which makes me go down on the mood. Bisharp is an exception though, with his high defenses.....and others, yet some dark types, such as Weavile, wouldn't survive such hits.
