Well otaku's are not exactly that which weeaboos think they are. You are an anti-social person who barely comes by because he spends all his money on manga/anime (merchandise) and doesn't really come outside except if it's for getting more anime stuff?? Before you say yes, watch Otaku no Video and you'll know what I mean when I say that's most likely not you.

I didn't hear that but I wouldn't be surprised if it was right. It's games too and just everything, it's just unhealthy obsession basically, and it was popularized by Japanese culture and you know because it's Japanese it must be cool so, now every weeaboo out there claims they are an otaku cause obviously that's very cool when you're border hikikomori loser.

the daily japan chit chat oh my god

Actually in japanese otaku doesn't mean a bad thing, it's student or fan or something like this
EIther way, when I referred to myself as otaku I meant the japanese way
How are you so sure? It's a connotation, not a denotation.

Unpleasant stereotypes about otaku prevail in worldwide fan communities, and some anime fans express concern about the effect these more extreme fans can have on the reputation of their hobby (not unlike sentiments in the comic book and science fiction fandoms).

Tbh I think like...otaku has the same connotation in Japan that weeaboo has here. Well not identical meanings but similar negative implications.

The thing is that an otaku (that means a Japanese person) will not call himself an otaku, usually. Most like how Japanese people don't call themselves namehere-chan. Non-Japanese people are the only ones who call themselves otakus and so they are weeaboos already lol.

what toujours said there. an otaku is not considered a positive thing so a japanese person simply wouldn't call themselves that.

Oh well @ Wasteland, a weeaboo is typically a Western person wanting to be Japanese and basically acting like one. Liking anime does not make you a weeaboo btw. Weeaboo is not a compliment and neither is otaku, you shouldn't be proud of either.

Yes or their mood lol. I'm sure you've seen people go "anno.....konnichiwa desu watashi wa live_wire-chan yoroshiku onegai shimasu desu!!!", or something along the lines. No Japanese person types in Romaji either. Really like thinking about it, everything that weeaboos do is exactly /not/ what Japanese people would do, ironically enough. (calling themselves otakus, adding honorifics to their own names, typing in romaji, pronouncing the 'u' in 'desu') its just sad lol

Wow, now I'm tempted to create an alt account with the username "LeSabre-sensei" or "LeSabre-sama" lol

And tempted to start calling my OC character "Lisa-chan" despite her not being Japanese at all.

The current name of this thread reminds me so much of my old forum so much it's nostalgic, still trying to remind myself whether my screen name's Xulek or Reven on here now lol. Thank god nobody calls me Ven-San or Venitas-Sama anymore haha.

And yes, weaboos are weird. There I've contributed to ze topic, now where's my ****ing turtle.

Ew my god kill me now, that was surprisingly difficult.

Anyhoo yeah, I can't say that I automatically dislike any weaboo that I see, because I know that most people grow out of it by a certain age. All of them will look back someday and go "Why on earth did I act like that?", so I don't worry all too much. You never see too many of them past the age of 18, at the latest.

Ehhhhhhh I didn't know what a weeaboo was, but now I know lol.

Tbh I'm like one of the people who was never impressed by Japanese stuff, may it be anime, manga, or any of the other stuff that country has produced. I liked it, okay, but I was never impressed or became a big fan. I still don't watch a lot of anime or read manga, and I've only ever liked a very few anime series like DBZ or One Piece.

Going to ban/kick you both in the shins really hard
Livewire-kun is so tsuntsun! :P

Lawdhavemercyonmeforihavepissedoffyourspittingimage!

That was kind of fun, but I only ever talk this way to annoy people or make fun of them for anything that puts them as a borderline weaboo.

Weaboos are alright if you can look past their choice to reject most things "western".
whoops
