Imagine, you've just been asked to design the Elite 4 for a new Pokemon game. You can design them anyway you like. Looks, Pokemon, Type etc.

Here's a few for you to use, add your own too.
  • Name
  • Looks
  • Type
  • Do they have a role in the storyline? As in meeting the hero before hand
  • Pokemon they're using
  • Double/Triple or no?
I'll do mine later. :)

Name The Excellent Four
Looks each member's field would be based on their typing in Pokemon
Type Ghost, Fire, Steel, Dragon and the champion would have a mixture
Do they have a role in the storyline? As in meeting the hero before hand
Pokemon they're using
Not really, the protagonist of the game would be able to run into one of the Excellent Four in a local cafe shop in one of the cities. This member would say inspiring words to this protagonist.
Double/Triple or no?: Yes this would be a good idea for trainers that have a full 6 on 6 battle and it is a double battle, all of the Excellent Four would be a double battle except for the champion which will ask you if you want to do a triple battle or a rotation battle

I've developed a fascination with Rotom, lately, so my super-cool-awesome Elite Four would all be Rotom-themed.

We'd start off with Lyra, the mistress of Electricity. Her team would consist of a Normal Rotom, Lanturn, Emolga, Magnezone and her prized critter of Eelektross. You might have seen her some time in the game, but where and when is to be determined.

After that, Aquione would follow. An ex-beauty queen who's fallen out of the modelling industry and into the Pokemon League, her Water critters are an attempt to prove her legitimacy in this field. Her tearm would consist of a Rotom-W, Swampert, Gyarados, Milotic and her prized critter of Ludicolo.

Firenze would come after Aquione. A professional MMA-fighter who moonlights as an Elite Four member, he's god mad skillz when it comes to Fire. His team contains a Rotom-Fire, Infernape, Chandelure, Houndoom and his prized critter: Ninetales.

The final E4 member would be Graham. A landscape gardener in his spare time - and one who previously helped you complete that challenge in that city involving gardens, he's the master of Grass. His team's all about a Rotom-G, Cradily, Torterra, Whimsicott and his prized critter: Ferrothorn

The Champion would be Thomas: lover of Rotom. You'd have seen him - probably as an antagonist - many times during the game, and his team would consist of ALL THE ROTOMS! (So, Normal Rotom, Rotom-W, Rotom-Fire, Rotom-G, Rotom-I, Rotom-Flying)

That was fun!

Notice: I'll be basing this off my own Pokemon world that I've tried applying some logic to. Instead of 10, people now get their trainer's license at the age of 16. Instead of sending animals out to do their dirty work, trainers now merge with their Pokemon for battle. All pain felt is shared between the trainer and Pokemon, etc. If a Pokemon switches out or faints, the trainer will no longer feel the pain. If the trainer re-merges with the injured Pokemon later on, during or post-battle, they will feel all the pain and injuries sustained, again. All four members will use a single battle format. Now, without further ado:

Name: James Woodson "The Mystery"
Theme: Enigmatic
Role: Woodson is also the leader of the evil team of the game/region. He wears a Guy Fawkes mask when taking his alter-ego's role. As the leader, his outfit resembles that of V.
Looks:
Spoiler:
advanced a dozen years or so.

Pokemon:
  • Cohagrigus lv50
  • Zoroark lv51
  • Shedinja lv51
  • Gengar lv52
  • Spiritomb lv53
  • Absol lv55
Other Info:
Age - 39
Misc. - Donning the mask of Guy Fawkes, Woodson seeks to abolish governmental regulations over humans and Pokemon, alike. Ironically, many of these laws are which allow him to hold his job as an Elite Four member.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Ryan Carroll, "The Prodigal Son"
Theme: Offensive
Role: Helps the player thwart the plans of the region's evil team.
Looks:
Spoiler:
Pokemon:
  • Machamp lv53
  • Alakazam lv53
  • Gyarados lv55
  • Magnezone lv55
  • Volcarona lv59
  • Dragonite lv60
Other Info:
Age - 21; Seeing as the legal age to get your license is 16, achieving the rank of the second Elite Four in just five years speaks volumes for itself. Most of the "elite" trainers take at least 10 years of training. On average, throughout history, Elite Four members have at least 20 years of experience.
Family Relations - Grandson of Don Wright. Many believe it was due to his grandfather's coaching that Carroll was able to grow so quickly.
Misc. - Carroll is the youngest member of the Elite Four in all of history.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Name: Rebecca Owens, "The Flawless One"
Theme: Beauty
Role: Gives the player some advice on life during the game.
Looks:
Spoiler:
but with much more clothes on.. and Advanced a few years, as well.

Pokemon:
  • Bellossom lv62
  • Lapras lv62
  • Gardevoir lv63
  • Ninetales lv64
  • Milotic lv65
  • Lucario lv67
Other Info:
Age - 34
Misc. - Owens was formally a super model for a large women's wear company.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Don Wright, "The Ageless Wonder"
Theme: Legendary
Role: Player manages to catch a glimpse of him here and there, but never actually induces contact.
Looks:
Spoiler:
advanced in age by about a decade.
Pokemon:
  • Articuno lv63
  • Entei lv64
  • Registeel lv66
  • Azelf lv69
  • Virizion lv73
  • Landorus lv75
Other Info:
Age - 65
Family Relations - Grandfather of Ryan Carroll. Wright's own son became a doctor/vet, much to his dismay. As such, when his daughter gave birth, Wright vowed to groom the child into the greatest trainer the world has ever known.
Misc. - Wright is the oldest Elite Four member of all time. Wright was once the "Chosen One," befriending many legendary and elusive Pokemon during his journey. Many of these legendary Pokemon are used during his battles nowadays.
EDIT: I forgot to note that the Elite Four has only been defeated once before, hence the high levels. The only trainer to ever defeat all four trainers was a journeyman by the name of Red.
This Elite Four isn't the normal elite four you see in-game. Instead of specializing in types, they specialize in Attack, Defense or whatsoever.
Firstly, we would start with Ryouta (Attack), an eighteen year old who loves offense. He rarely uses non-damaging moves and often uses damaging, powerful moves. Despite being the first one, he is very powerful and takes things very seriously. You first encounter Ryouta at the inn, looking for his Scizor. He then rewards you with a Dire Hit. His motto is, "The Offensive Man". After you defeat him, he rewards you with TM52 (Focus Blast)
Pokémon
~ Rampardos ♂ level 48; X Attack
~ Ursaring ♂ level 49
~ Garchomp ♂ level 50
~ Tyranitar ♂ level 50; Dire Hit
~ Scizor ♂ level 51
After you dealt with him, you go to Ayano (HP). She is a calm seventeen year old girl who almost never loses her temper. She gets along with everyone easily and she believes that HP is the key to winning a battle. Most people are annoyed by her Pokémon because, despite their level is just as close as Ryouta, her Pokémon is tough stuff. You first meet her at a peaceful town, her mother is sick and she asks you to get medicine from another town. When you complete that sidequest, she rewards you with Leftovers. She was born and raised at Verdanturf Town and she usually goes to the Pokémon Center to volunteer. Her motto is "The Healing Power" and she gives you TM44 Rest upon defeat
Pokémon
~ Vaporeon ♀ level 49; Oran Berry
~ Audino ♀ level 50
~ Drifblim ♂ level 51
~ Snorlax ♂ level 52
~ Blissey ♀ level 53; Leftovers
Now, you go to a twenty year old man named Shinji (Speed). He is so fast, that you sometimes didn't see him run. When you go to his room, you will see first prize awards from many races. You first meet him at the Grand Prix, with his Jolteon injured. When you heal Jolteon, he gives you a X Speed. His motto is "The Master of Speed" and he gives you, instead of a TM, five heart scales for move tutoring.
Pokémon
~ Ninjask ♂ level 50
~ Jolteon ♂ level 52
~ Arcanine ♂ level 53
~ Crobat ♂ level 53
~ Swellow ♂ level 54
You've finished the other three, now it's time for Natsume (SP. Attack, Sabrina's Jap name)! She's decided to use Pokémon outside of Psychic types and got promoted to the Elite Four. You first meet her at S.S Anne's journey from Kanto, she doesn't give out TMs, however. You need to help Sabrina make the S.S Anne up and running. Her motto is "The Heartless Psychic" and she gives you the S.S Anne ticket to travel to other regions.
Pokémon
~ Roserade ♀ level 52
~ Magnezone level 52
~ Gengar ♂ level 53
~ Reuniclus level 54
~ Alakazam ♂ level 55
The Champion is, that's right..Kurotsugu (Palmer JAP name, all around).
~ Milotic ♀ level 54
~ Rhyperior ♂ level 55
~ Dragonite ♂ level 56
~ Staraptor ♂ level 57
~ Houndoom ♂ level 60
~ Empoleon ♂ level 62
♖ no one ever wondered ♖
I don't care too much about the order, but I guess you could go with this.
I like the idea of giving trainers Pokemon who don't have a specific typing, rather, going by a family of Pokemon.
First: Willard (watch the movie) is a trainer who specializes in rodent and weasel Pokemon. Has a rivalry with Mao about Zangoose being a Weasel.
Protagonist intervenes in a fight between Willard and Mao about Zangoose and their pokemon's general rivalry.
Dugtrio
Furret, Raticate, Linoon, Watchog, whichever
Richu (Or Pikachu with light ball)
Skuntank
Floatzel
Zangoose
Second: Mao (all cats are communists (ha?)) is the cat trainer who has a rivalry with Willard about Zangoose being a cat.
Also runs a daycare and has a house full of cats that you can visit.
Persian
Liepard
Zangoose (again)
Vaporeon (eevee was a cat right?)
Espeon
Leafeon
Third: Herm (derived from hermit) is a trainer who specializes in Pokemon with a shell, mostly turtles. (Relatively easy to deal with due to most shelled pokemon being part water or fire)
Protagonist washes up on shore of Herm's private island.
Blastoise
Torterra
Carracosta
Torcoal
Crustle
Shuckle (What a beast)
Four: Bruce (Bruce Lee..) deals with Humanoid pokemon. Thus mostly fighting and psychic types.
Leader of the fighting type gym earlier in the game, helps protagonist a few times against the dark organization. Gets promoted just before you get to the Elite four.
Blaziken
Lucario
Bisharp
Electivire
Alakazam
Machamp or Concledurr (I prefer Machamp but the latter is more humanoid)
Champion: Darwin (guess...) deals with the evolution of pokemon and is an all around zoologist.
Would be a scientist that you battle much earlier in the game except for with much lower level Pokemon and with no notification as to him being the champion.
Kabutops
Scizor
Yanmega
Mamoswine
Gigalith
Aerodactyl (or archeops)
I'm really not excited about this...
