[ Appearance ]
As with all native Arcanians, Lynn's appearance resembles that of a 16 year old Asian teenage girl. Her skin tone is only a little pale, with only a few minor blemishes. Lynn stands at about 5'8'' in height as well; only just a tad taller than a few of her friends. She s also pretty flat-chested, which doesn't bother her much in any-case. (until someone mentions it, that is.) Her hair is black as well as long, in which her hair drops down all the way to Lynn's mid-back. Some bits of her hair, drops down from the front towards her upper shoulder. Her eyes are also black, which match her hair. Her nails are not very long, but not very short either. They are painted white, with a hint of red, which according to her family, that red represents her "good chi".
Her outfit isn't very modern, but kind of ties on her family heritage, and because he's a native Arcanian. Her outfit consists of a long, red dress that is made out of cotton. The dress is so long that it almost covers her ankles. The sleeves of her dress is very wide, which holds up when Lynn wears it; in other words, the sleeves are much wider than her arms, so it droops down when worn. Her red dress is also decorated by white lining, coloring, and patching. On the back of her dress, a pointed-star-shaped white lining is patched on it. On her dress where her chest is where, white lining and coloring is also patched. Finally, where her dress collar lies, white lining is decorated followed up with a yellow ribbon to complete the style. There is also a green jewel on each of her shoulder. As for foot wear, she wears black socks, as well as red dress shoes, with a red buckle on each foot.
This is what she basically looks like in a picture:
And again; she's the girl in the red dress. (exclude the staff)
[ Personality ]
Lynn is basically a person who is straightforward, yet at the sometime, awkward and weird. She is responsible, in terms of caring for pokemon, and caring deeply about her family and friends. She would never put anyone in more importance than others; she treats everyone equally. People have said that her strength comes from her caring nature, and boldness when it comes to overcoming obstacles. Then again, she does have a weird, eccentric side to her. She has a firm belief on ghosts, and other spirits, which that belief was inherited from her family. She also has a firm belief on hexes, and curses. As such, she often gets paranoid that a ghost will come and grab her soon if she commits something which will get her "cursed" (eg. stepping on a crack will break your mother's back, ohohoho~)
Therefore, she is also wild, and imaginative. She also has this...coffee madness. Whenever she drinks it, she becomes a hyper, more eccentric, overly dramatic girl who yells or says something bubbly. Whether she does, or does not drink coffee, when she gets peeved or angry, she can attempt to say a few hexes and curses that she has been taught from her family...even though none of them works. However, her firm belief on the occult is what she uses to drive herself more on expanding her curiosity in the world.
[ History ]
Lynn was born in Januvale Town, Arcanum, where she has a mother, a little sister, a grandfather, and a grandmother. Her father, had abandoned the family long ago, although Lynn did not know too much about it; in fact, she barely knew that she even had a father. In any case, Lynn, was especially born...as a member of the Colthearts family clan. The Colthearts were a family who were known for communicating with spirits, and with the land of the dead. The leader, and master of the Colthearts clan was the one who's connection to the spirit world, and the land of the dead was the strongest of them all.
The "spiritual power" of the Colthearts clan was always inherited by the females of the group. Before Lynn and her mother was born, Lynn's grandmother was the leader, since her ties with the spiritual world was strongest. When Lynn's mother was born, she had more ties with the spirit and the land of the dead than Lynn's grandmother, and thus, became the new leader. Finally, Lynn was born after her mother married. Unfortunately, her father had left them, to set his own goals in his life; even when it meant leaving his family behind. Lynn was born right in Janvale, her grandmother observed that the child's ties to the spirit world and the land of the dead were stronger than any member of the Colthearts clan that lived in history. The child was to become master at a young, but mature age.
When Lynn was 10 years old, she was taught all about spirits, ghosts, and the occult from her mother. She was then told all about the whole purpose of the Colthearts clan -- to tie in the forgotten spirits, with the land of the ancients, towards the human world. Maybe one day...the world can come to peace with them. Lynn was always skeptical on meeting spirits, and other forms of the occult, but, she knew that this was only for the good of the clan. Her sister Ringo, was born at this time, however, she did not have much ties to the spirit world as Lynn does, so, there was no way that she wold become clan master.
However, Lynn had a more interest with pokemon. She would always enjoy reading picture books, and novels about pokemon trainers and their pokemon -- traveling to different regions, meeting new friends, even battling with those friends. However, while Lynn might have a more interest in pokemon, her belief in spiritualism stood strong as ever. However, as Lynn grew up, she knew that the Colthearts clan also had family feuds. The branch family, hosted by Lynn's Aunt, Uncle, and cousins, as well as other distant relatives, have plotted to take the master titlle from the main family, hosted by Lynn's mother and her grandmother.
Lynn did not want to be exposed to this family feud, so, when she turned her current age, 16, she decided that she did not want the title of the master of the Colthearts, and decided to pass it on to his sister. In fact, this is the first time that she realized why her father left -- he wanted to find a more peaceful solution to have the branch family accept the Main household family. So, Lynn vowed that someday, she too will travel out of Januvale to find that answer.

Somewhere in the vast town of Januvale, a Taillow was flying back towards its nest, through the clear, crisp sky that commonly hosted flying typed pokemon. This Taillow was oddly colored by other common blue Taillow; it had a sea-green hue, along with patches of orange on their chest and forehead, the patch on their forehead having a triangular upper tip. It had been hunting for its lunch for a while now; but so far, no such luck.
However, it wasn't as though it was completely out of luck. No, the variety of pokemon it normally feasted upon was not generally found in the area in which it housed its nest on. That was because of fear. What was that fear? Well, the wild Taillow would soon find the answer to that question, as before it knew it, it was visited by a strange turquoise gas-like figure, that seemed to have materialized from virtually out of nowhere. The Taillow was surprised, as it flew backward a few feet, flapping its wings at a faster rate. The ghostly figure had its wide eyes fixed on the surprised Taillow with its pearly white and sharp looking white fangs that stuck out from its sinister applying smile.
"Gasssst....ly..."
(Hello... Good day...) The figure tried to greet, however, due to its spooky first impressions, the wild Taillow became so frightened that it turned around, flapping its wings as fast and hard as it can, flying away from the figure as fast it could. The ghostly presence was puzzled, as it wondered why an innocent creature would try to escape the simple act of saying hello. However, it was unable to further think of this situation, as it was soon to be called upon.
"Gaaaaastlyyyyy!" a voice, apparently belonging to a female. "Gastly, where are you?"
The figure, also known as a Gastly, recognized that voice, as it soon de-materialized from the sky. An ancient-Japanese looking house could be seen just a few feet away from the wild Taillow's nest. The house, having this old-Japenese feel to it, was primary made out of strong wood and bamboo, while inside, one can gain access to all of the separate rooms just by passing through sliding doors. Also inside the house, the familiar turquoise-colored ghastly soon materialized into the humble home. It surveyed around the house, searching for someone. It soon figured out where that someone was, as the voice called out to it again. Gastly soon levitated through the solid doors, thanks to its ghostly figure, only to be acquainted by a girl.
"Gastlyyy...Gas..."
(Good day... Master Lynn...) Gastly said, grabbing the girl named Ringo's attention.
"Ah, there you are, Gastly!" Lynn said. "Mother already stated: You really shouldn't go off scaring locals anymore. You'll get 7 years of bad karma."
"Gastly... gassss..."
(But I simply wanted to converse what is their favorite color...) Gastly explained.
"Anyway, mother wants you in the training hall," Lynn explained. "You better go, or else the ghosts of Hades will grab you for negligence."
"Gassss...ly... gass..."
(I understand... Good day... Master...) Gastly said, bidding adieu. It de-materialized once again, as it was soon not viable to Lynn, a young 16 year old girl, anymore.

Lynn was feeling uneasy, as she was standing at a bench, that stood in her front yard. The only thing that was in her mind right now was the dream she had last night. It was a dream that she too could not fathom. That night, she dreamed that a huge pokemon, which was greeted to be Zekrom, a legendary pokemon, taking Lynn to fly around Arcanum. She saw that Arcanum was completely covered by fire...and darkness. It was too unbearable too watch, as the pokemon explained that this was not meant to happen -- that the future can be changed. That was then she woke up. However, the plight wasn't over. As she woke up, that was then she noticed...the mark on her wrist.
The mark symbolized ying-yang, and, even when she touched it in this current day, it was still warm to the touch. But, what does this mean? That was when Lynn was worried, as she immediately stood up from her bench.
"Its...a...CURSE!!" Lynn assumed frighteningly. She tried to rub out the mark vigorously with her other hand, but, it was no use. It wouldn't come off. "I KNEW I'D REGRET IT AS SOON AS I STEPPED ON THAT ONE MILLIMETER CRACK N THE FLOOR! FORGIVE ME MOTHER!! FOR NOT ONLY I'VE BROKEN YOUR BACK IN THE NEAR FUTURE, I HAVE BEEN CURSED FOR SEVEN YEARS!! Or Eight...WHICHEVER!"

Lynn then decided to stand up and try to take a walk around town to take a abetter grasp in this situation. She had virtually never set foot outside Januvale, except on circumstances on which she would go with her mother and buy some herbs, however, even then, it wasn't very far from where she lived. There was very little crowding in Junavale; the town was a very quiet one.
As she was walking to clear her mind, her troublesome folly was only to be stopped as she was soon bumped against a strange man from behind, dropping straight on the ground. The strange man turned around to see who have bumped into him, seeing Lynn sitting on the ground. It was then that the strange man noticed something that caught his eye -- it was the ying-yang mark on Lynn's wrist. The man now had his full attention towards Lynn, as he saw her stood up, brushing herself off. As Lynn finished brushing herself off, she came face to face with the man. Lynn couldn't recognize him at first, so she thought that he might be a dangerous one. So, she decided to send him a warning to scare him away.
"Oh...Uh...You! How dare you bump against a Colthearts without malice! Apologize immediately!" Lynn warned, with a steady, yet firm tone, trying to act more tough that she's leaning on, however, the man still stood there, quietly and un-phased. "Very well then! I SHALL USE A HEX CITATION THAT WILL MAKE A THOUSAND HAMS RAIN DOWN THE HEAVENS, CRUSHING YOU IN THIS VERY SPOT WHERE YOU STAND! Oinkity-oink, oinkrty Oink! Rain down...bounce like a SPOINK!"
However, Lynn knew that she was bluffing, and thus, nothing happened. The man still stood there with a cold, steady stare. In a more closer look though, Lynn noticed that it was Joresh Ja, the highest ranking trainer in Arcanum. His eyes had a cold, yet piercing stare upon Lynn, as Lynn wondered, 'what does the highest ranking trainer in Arcanum want with me?' That was when Joresh Ja spoke:
"You..." he said, still having a cold stare.
"Um...hi..." Lynn greeted, still taking a hold of this situation. "Um, if this is about the curse...I'm terribly sorry -- I promise to treat my mother's back three times a day! Even... though it's probably covered in pimples and warts... Okay, can I do something else-- "
"It's no curse..." Joresh explained quietly, as he glanced at the mark on Lynn's wrist. Joresh then turned around in the opposite direction, as he glanced back towards Lynn. "...Follow me to my home."
Lynn couldn't understand his request, nor what his role in this.. "Curse" was, but, she knew that perhaps the only way to make sense of this crisis was to follow him. However, she worried if her mother, and her grandmother would be looking for her soon, so this had to be quick. Lynn soon nodded, as she started walking alongside Joresh, to his home.
