Below is the story, rules, and sign up sheet.

Spoiler:
Story:
A strange wind has been blowing over the Siinnohs region. Professor Rowan looks out from his lab window. "Such a beautiful fall day, yet it has an eerie calm to it" he says before going back to his seat, as he goes to take a sip of his coffee the phone rings. "Hello?" Rowan answers as the conversation continues. "I understand the circumstances, but like I said we've tried to help, there's no way in.... The dark clouds are to thick, they shroud you, Kanto is lost to us... I sincerely wish you and the clan the best of luck. Goodbye Oak"... With that the conversation goes dead, a saddened and disgusted look comes over Rowan's face... "excuse me professor, the Pokemon for the trainers are ready for there arrival" a female lab assistant with cherry blond hair says walking up to the man and setting a tray with poke balls and pokedex on it. "Thank you, they should all be arriving any minute now" Rowan says.

Plot:

As new trainers in the land of Sinnoh you know what to expect during your journey. There will be gym battles won, rivalries formed, and Pokemon to catch, all in the hopes of becoming a Pokemon master. However this journey will turn out to not be your normal journey, things are quickly going to turn dark, choices will have to be made, that will in turn alter the course of the RP. What path will your choices lead you down?

Side story: "Sir we've found something" a strangely dressed man with blue pointed hair wearing an odd jumpsuit says to a shadowy figure standing in between two ancient ruin like pillars. She hands him a strange blue orb. "Good, only a few more pieces to this puzzle before I can control the most powerful force in the universe... Darkness itself"

 • When you attempt to catch a wild pokemon let the posts end as the ball is rolling back and forth. Depending on the length, quality of the posts will determine if you catch the pokemon, and the level it is at.
 • Please make sure to read each chapter thoroughly to make sure you understand the main points to meet in your posts, and the overall story.
 • There will be chances for interactions with other RPers throughout the course of the RP. However a lot of it will be on your own.

Characters

Red's Hawt Chibi Pelippers:

Spoiler:
Name: Chim Camaero Colligan
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Appearance:
From the pokémon creator game on deviantart.

Personality: All is about style and art and grace, to Camaero. He strives to be elegant and cool at the same time, but he cares little for honor and manners in most situations, as they make things complicated. Simple and clean is his devise, and he tries to dress and act accordingly. But with a touch of grace, naturally. Many have asked him if he's gay, but to that he nowadays simply blinks at the questioner and says: 'Maybe, maybe not!'. Categorizing people can only be done in two ways: those who care and those who don't care. Camaero cares. About himself, about people who are nice to him, about his clothes and of course about his pokémon. And his pokémon should be of the beautiful, cute, or cool kind. Ugly or very complicated pokémon isn't really his thing.

He is friendly and charming when you first meet him, but he tends to judge you from if you care about things or not. Actually, he doesn't have a problem with people who don't dress as consciously as he does - after all, that only makes him the most well dressed in a group and that's just good. Rather, he thinks that a person should care about something. Or else, they will be rather aimless in this world. When he battles, he will stray from his devise sometimes, and form complicated strategies to charm or outwit his enemies. He likes to use moves that confuse or affect the opponent in ways that makes his own pokémon look that much more strong or cunning. He has never really thought about becoming a coordinator, but that career would probably suit him better than that of a trainer. But who knows how his personality will develop when he gets out onto the road?

Background: Camaero grew up in Jubilife City with a father who was a rough but kind craftsman and a mother who was a singer and a painter. Early on, it was clear that little Chim Colligan loved to sing or draw or dance or otherwise create things. He didn't much like sports or getting dirty though. The boys in school called him silly, but girls thought he was cute and nice. When he became a teenager, they moved to Twinleaf Town though, and Chim started a new school. Children here weren't as forgiving as in the big city, and boys mocked and teased him for being girly and girls thought he was strange. He had some sleepless months where he was in despair, but then something happened. A girl also moved to Twinleaf and became his friend. She was named Carla and was a complete tomboy. She was much tougher and wilder than any boy in the school, and she told everybody that they were strange to shun Chim for him being who he was. They became best friends and Chim's confidence grew. As he started accepting himself again, the other kids started to appreciate him more as well. To mark this turn, Chim started going by his middle name instead, Camaero. Over the next years, he more or less created a new personality for himself.

He and Carla soon became a couple in the romantic way, but then Carla moved away... to a distant eastern part of Sinnoh with her parents. Camaero cried himself to sleep for some nights and thought he was going to become silly and disliked again. But he tried to keep up the mask he had created, and it worked. After almost a year, he was as cheerful and charismatic as ever, happily taking charge in any situation. But he always wanted to meet Carla again. When professor Rowan said that he gave away pokémon, Camaero saw it as an opportunity in several ways. He would be able to travel and make people aware of his talents and stylish ways... and he would eventually be able to look for Carla in the eastern Sinnoh.

Spoiler:
Name: Jen Keil

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Jen has small cut hair that only reaches the top of her neck. She spikes her hair and looks a lot like a boy. She has a single bar piercing on her left ear that she got without her parents permission and has loved it ever since, though it did get infected a few times because she did it herself. Jen always wears normal blue jeans, a black and gray striped long sleeved shirt and black converse shoes. Around her neck is a simple silver chain necklace that she constantly wears, along with the dog tags of her deceased older brother. He was always her favorite and taught her how to be a fighter. Aside from that she keeps a black jacket in her black backpack that she always carries around because she is constantly picking things up from the ground: coins, shells, sparkly things...

Because of this, said shiny items can be seen dropping from her bag on occasion from bulging pockets that just seem to hold too much, even if the items are pure crap. In many ways, she has the characteristics of a Murkrow, and if someone said that to her, she'd be pretty amused and wonder what it is exactly that you're smoking. When it gets cold, she'll trade her long sleeved shirt for a much warmer black sleeved shirt that's a bit on the heavy side to keep her warm. While she doesn't mind the cold that much, if she could avoid it and go near a hundred degree climate area, she'll head over there. Atop that black long sleeved shirt (if its cold enough) is another jacket that she'll bundle up in.

Personality: Jen is one tough cookie. Having had grown up with five brothers total and being the only girl puts you in that sort of position. She constantly likes to wrestle and have mock fights, even going so far as to wrestle a stray Mightyena that walked into her backyeard. The two had fallen in love with each other, but sadly Jen had to let it go. Jen can be pretty cheerful. In fact, she is almost happy all the time and rarely shows any anger unless for a just cause like against abuse, unfair laws and anything against her belief's or when she gets into a fight with one of her brothers. Jen hides her tears, which really doesn't matter since she doesn't cry all that often. When she falls and hurts herself, she takes it, unless its as bad as a broken bone, but unless a drama show is on that really affects her, she will cry silently.

As Jen grew up being the only girl in the family, with five brothers to boot, she has the tendency to act a bit too tough, thinking she has to prove herself. She doesn't like to be coddled, and no matter how tough a girl can be, there is always that unsaid boundary between a girl and boy, which is sad, because she doesn't know that many girls who have an adventure bone in them. She hates make-up, dresses and all sorts of girly things, which is in fact the total opposite of the girls she does know from school. Its regretful too, as sometimes her father will take the boys out for just a boys night out, which involves crazy stunt shows on the rare occassion, and Jen absolutely loves that sort of stuff. Don't get it wrong, Jen's father loves her and always has time for his 'baby girl', but that's just the problem, she loathes being considered 'daddy's little girl' or 'daddy's princess'. While it may be the same for all girls, Jen still feels like she has to prove herself to be as tough as a boy, which is exactly why she will dress and act as one.

Background: Jen grew up with five brothers, but was the third oldest. Her oldest brother, and favorite, Jarrett, died while serving in the army. He was a great soldier and pokemon trainer. His best pokemon, Skarmory, went down fighting with him. Jen now keeps his dog tags for herself. That was the first time she had ever cried so openly. When she held Jarrett's dog tags while they buried his ashes, along with his Skarmory's into the same grave, she vowed that she would make him proud. Her brother had wanted to become a pokemon trainer after the army, but Jen sometimes doubted he really would. Her brother loved serving too much, and she knew he would have been great, and that is why she vowed to protect his memory. With that vow, she placed the dog tags around her neck and has never taken them off since, even when showering or sleeping.

Jade's second oldest, Bobby, is a bit of a study nerd, and doesn't fight all that often, which sucks because when he does wrestle he's incredibly good at it. Jade's younger brother's, Mark and Owen, are only a year apart, Mark being the oldest and being one year younger than Jen. Aside from Jarrett, who is three years older than Bobby, they are all a year apart. Their family is close, but when news of Jarrett's death reached their ears, they were never the same again and closed off one another, and even till this day they aren't the same. That's why Jade wants to go on a pokemon journey, to get away from it all. She loves her family, but there is only so much one can take in a sad environment.

{Swan}
Spoiler:
Name: Charlie Arthurson

Age: 18

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Charlie’s height is above average, standing at 1.75 meters. She has a slightly tanned skin with freckles all over her face. shoulders and arms, to her own dismay. Her hair’s a dark brown, ever so slightly wavy at the ends and reaches to mid-back. She’s got no bangs and a mid-part, but you don’t usually see it as she tends to push her hair back with a white headband. She’s got amber eyes set in a long and narrow face, the slightest cleft in her chin and a celestial (up-turned) nose.

Clothing-wise Charlie doesn’t really like to stand out, so she stays away from overly bright colours. She wears a form-fitting longs-sleeved grey shirt under a white, loosely knitted wool sweater, of which she always has the sleeves rolled up to show the shirt underneath. Over that she wears an equally white woolen winter coat, against the general cold of Sinnoh. She wears a pair of skinny jeans of a vibrant blue hue, for denim, though dark enough that they’re not too bright and noticeable for her. Then, on her feat, she wears a pair of black boots with fake white fur on the top and nice woolen lining on the inside. And lastly she carries a pair of, you guess it, white gloves with her. Charlie does not like the cold. Lastly, for her stuff she has a brown sling-bag with a singly strap nestled across her shoulders for all her carrying needs.

Personality:

Charlie is has self-esteem issues, it should be said. She believes she doesn’t come to a lot in the world. Like most victims of low self-esteem she’s been bullied for several moments in her life. This has resulted in the fact that she doesn’t like standing out or being singled out for things. She’s not exactly shy, but she doesn’t like talking to strangers very much. Still, when something bad needs saying, she’s usually the one who does it. She doesn’t like two-faced behaviour and will usually not turn about the truth. She’s difficult to befriend but once you do, you’ve got a real trustworthy friend.

She might not think much of herself, but Charlie really isn’t as incompetent as she thinks. She’s actually rather brave when it comes down to it, but that’s not something she’ll believe of herself. She has a big heart, and a weakness for both children as well as minorities. She’s very sympathetic and caring, and even if she won’t likely stand up for herself, she will stand up for others. However her self-doubt is really her largest enemy, and she’ll definitely have to work on her confidence if she wants to make it in the world of battling.

Charlie is also a bit naïve. She wants to believe that people mean what they say, and therefore she often takes their words for granted. One of Charlie’s biggest wishes would be to amount to something, although how she’d attempt to achieve that wish might not be the best way to do so. She often dreams of an easy way out. In fact, Charlie dreams an awful lot. She’s often with her head in the clouds, her imagination running wild. She has somewhat of an ambition to write, to do something with that overactive creative mind of hers, but really, she wouldn’t be very good at it, right?

Background:

Charlie comes from a middle-class family, quite simple, in the small town of Twinleaf. Her parents kept a flower shop in the center of town, and lived in the space above it. She has an elder sister three years her elder, Karen, but they never got along, always fighting and at each other’s throats. Charlie always thought her parents were just like every other parents, they loved each other and would always be together. That is, until they divorced when she was 8 years old. There really wasn’t much warning, as the two always stayed civil when the children were around, but they’d been having fights for months before it happened, and the affair of Charlie’s father was the end of it for her mother. The divorce was messy, her father had left to settle in Johto with the mistress and barely looked back at his other family.

This was a tough time for Charlie. Her mother was left to mind the shop on her own and Charlie and her sister had to work there after school almost every day. Charlie didn’t much mind, but Karen was insufferable. It was also during this time that Charlie was first the subject of bullying at her school, after defending another boy for being picked upon, she became the center of attention. The kids in her school mostly began to shun her, or make fun of her for her accent or other flaws, and even the boy she’d defended didn’t talk to her. This was the first blow on her self-esteem. Everything got a lot better after she moved up a grade and classes were shuffled though, and things seemed to go fine. The flower shop was picking up and her mother hired someone to help her, resulting in Charlie and Karen not having to mind the shop as much anymore, and thing were just generally fine.

The second major incident of bullying started when Charlie moved to high school. Things progressed much the same, she defended another girl and in turn she got the motherload. Since Twinleaf is such a small town kids don’t tend to forget things. Many of her former bullies joined in on it, and Charlie once again found herself prone to verbal abuse. This time the girl she defended stuck by her, and the two were good friends throughout high school. The tormenting wore off after a year or two, but it still left its marks. In any case, Charlie graduated with good marks, and the plan was to go to take over most of the flower shop duties. However her mother convinced her to try Pokémon training for a little while, before coming back to help her. To live a little. And Charlie, after much convincing, decided to go with it.

Additional Information: I imagine Charlie talking with a British accent, as much as that exists in the Pokémon world.

Spoiler:
Name: Jack Blaze

Age: 17

Gender: male

Appearance: Jack is an average sized young adult standing at 5 foot 7 inches. He has short spikey brown hair that sticks up no matter what he does to it. Because of his hair Jack has insisted on wearing a medium pair of black goggles with flames designed on the sides. He also wears a green jacket with a pokeball symbol on the back that his mother made for his journey. He wears the traditional jeans and tennis along with a one strap backpack with his name on it. His face is young in appearance due to the smooth skin and lack of facial hair. Jack's eyes are green but during hard situations they change to brown for some unknown reason.

Personality: Like most guys his age Jack is very antsy and cannot sit still for long amounts of time. This has caused problems for him at home, but he feels that it may be able to help him on his journey and training. Jack is the type of kid who keeps his emotions bottled up...that is unless a girl comes into his vicinity. He is very terrible at hiding how he feels for women and often makes a full out of himself if confronted by one due to his drooling, nervousness, lack of speech, and staring at places he should not. Basically his hormones are out of control quite a bit. But he gets by and this may be one of his only flaws. That is except the fact that Jake could never stand to see a friend get hurt and would do anything to protect the people he cares about.

Background:
Jack had grown up on the outskirts of Sandgem town, where his father opened up his own little traning gym for passing by trainers. From what Jack could tell during his early life, his parents seemed happy, they seemed inseperable...they were a family. Jacks father Bruce, would let him watch his training battles and he
would even give the boy tips. Jack loved these bonding moments but at the same time his father could be a little distant. His childhood friend was a little blonde girl from twinleaf town named Sonya. The two were close from the ages of 6 to 9 until one day the two wondered off and got attacked by a wild ryhorn. Sonya and Jack's fathers came to their rescue in time, but Sonya's parents had decided to move her away from Jack due to what they called his "reckless nature."
This incident had scarred Jack...he never wanted to lose another person again. But not even a year later after the boy had turned 10 something else happened that would damage Jack even more. After a training battle Jack and his father went home to a good home cooked meal. The entire time something seemed to be on Bruces mind but Jack had no idea what. The next morning when Jack woke up his mother told him that Bruce had run off in the middle of the night and had not returned. Jack who was only a child began to cry in outrage and ran through the woods in search of his role model. He searched all day but found nothing and laid down in the middle of the woods in the dark as tears streamed down his face. Ever since then Jack had passed up all oppurtunites to start his pokemon journey. He stayed at home until he studied and felt prepared enough. Jack didn't want the man who abandoned a mother and her child for 7 years to come back anymore...Jack wanted to revenge.

"It's... cold!" Ashton said, shuddering and gritting his teeth as he stepped inside the long cave after Rebecca.

"Of course! Why did you think it was called the Ice Path?"

They had gone together back to the pokémon center after their battle and got Rattata and Aipom healed up. Aipom's tail was still a bit sore, but able to do everything she wanted to do with it again. When the trainers had found out that both of them were going in the same direction from Blackthorn, Rebecca thought it ridiculous that they would travel alone. And so they didn't. It was not as if Ashton could properly read a map either... Aipom sat, as always, on Ashton's shoulder now. And she was just as malcontent about the coldness as her trainer.

"Aipom!" she complained.

"No can do," Ashton said, pouting. "Lemme see if I've got another shirt to put on in here..."

He stopped just inside the cave opening and rummaged through his large backpack.

"You're a trainer who's got enough sense to pack things before they leave home!" Rebecca said cheerfully. "That's good."

"Haven't you?" Ashton said as he put on an extra, black sweater as well as a silver scarf that he thought he'd never ever put on. He quickly changed his mind though and handed the scarf to Aipom, who put it many rounds around her neck and purred happily.

"Of course I have! I even have a warm jacket, in case you didn't notice," Rebecca said, showing the dark blue thing off in front of him. She still had her light dress underneath it though, but Ashton noticed that she had put on some kind of trousers on her legs... no, leggings they were called? He shook his head. Since when did he stare at girls' legs? He blushed.

"Oh, I'm not that pretty, am I?" Rebecca giggled and winked at him.

"Not at all!" Ashton hastily said. Rebecca's grin faded. "Uh, I mean, of course you do, yes! But... um..."

But Rebecca wasn't the type to get easily angered or hurt. She laughed it away and motioned for them to keep going into the cave.

The path was well lit up, better than the Dragon's Den actually. The floor was clad in some kind of material that was rather nice and stable to walk on. Ashton tried putting his feet outside the pads and instantly slipped and almost fell over.

"Hey, these anti-slip pads are here for a reason!" Rebecca told him.

"Oh..." Ashton said and kept going. On the anti-slip pads. It was a rather boring walk, he thought. "Aren't there any pokémon here?"

"Probably. I haven't really walked here in order to search for wild pokémon before though..."

"But we are now, aren't we?" The boy lit up and started looking in every direction to spy something... anything. Nothing.

"It's probably like in Dragon's Den," he mumbled to Aipom and looked to the side. "The pokémon are hiding in those side-tunnels.

"Oh, don't go in there. There aren't any anti-slip pads there... Ashton?" Rebecca said when he didn't answer. She turned around to see him skid over to the other side of the cave and enter a dark side tunnel.

"Ashton!"

The blonde boy giggled in unison with the monkey on his shoulder as he snuck around just outside of the reach of the lanterns. He walked through the darkness and neither he nor Aipom was afraid this time, because he saw a light at the end of the tunnel. They came out in a big cave with ice on every wall and holes in the ceiling here and there. Daylight slipped through them and made the ice sparkle in a blue way down in the cave around them. "Whoa..." Ashton said, his eyes glimmering as well. "Totally worth it. Now, I wonder what pokémon live here?"

He carefully skid across the room, it was more fun than it was hard, and searched closely with his eyes. Eventually, he spotted something. "Look, Aipom!" he said and pointed as he came to a stop by skidding towards and hitting a large stone. He was looking at a group of small cone shaped pokémon that sat in a group together and seemed to be generally chatting. He pulled up the PokéPad, which told him that they were Snorunt. "Awesome!" he said. "But they look a bit small and weak."

He skid on across the floor to another side of the room where there were a lot of cliffs. There, he found some pokémon looking like brown tufts of hair sneaking around on the floor. Swinub, they were called. "Ice and ground? Cool combo! But they are quite small and... strange, aren't they?" Aipom nodded thoughtfully. She didn't want just any teammates, now did she?

"Ashton!" a voice came and made Ashton slip and fall over, hitting the ice hard with his elbows.

"Owch..."

"There you are! If we're gonna travel together, you can't just run off from me, hey?" Rebecca said as she was just about to step out onto the most slippery part of the floor...

"Wait!" Ashton called out and lashed forth. The result was that both the girl and the boy skid across the room, the girl screaming as she did, and missed each other by a meter before hitting the wall on the other side and thus coming to a stop. A loud bang was heard when the girl did so.

"Uh, are you okay?" Ashton called from his side of the cave.

"No! This is terrible, how are we supposed to get out?"

"By skidding on the ice, of course. It's easy, just..." Ashton showed her by skidding once, twice over two parts of the floor to reach the tunnel which they had come from. "Come on now!" he said.

Rebecca swallowed and pushed herself away from the icy wall to pick up speed. But she had pushed herself in an odd direction and ended up further away from the tunnel.

"No, go that way now, and then that way!" Ashton pointed and called out to her.

"What way?" Rebecca yelled as she tried again and ended up among the Snorunts, who curiously came close and poked her where she had fell over in the snow. "Eek! Get off me!"

Ashton couldn't help laughing, earning an angry stare from Rebecca. "Sorry. It's just... I don't really understand how you can think it's difficult," he said scratching the back of his head.

Rebecca sighed, still laying down. As she was, she looked up at the ceiling. "There is something in the ceiling..." she said.

"Of course, they are called holes, maybe you have heard of them?" Ashton said sarcastically. Aipom laughed.

"No... not holes. Creatures. Lots of them. So many... They look creepy!"

"Since when are you afraid of creepy creatures? You own a rat."

"Look!"

Maybe it was that last yell that woke them up from their slumber. One Zubat started flapping its wings and detached from the ice ceiling where it had been hanging. That woke the ones around it up, and they in turn woke the rest up. Soon, the ice couldn't be seen anymore. The air above them in the cave was just a blur of dark purple wings and a strange, high pitched noise.

Rebecca put her hands over her ears and yelped, and the Snorunts formed a tight clump with each other behind her, as to shield off the irritating sound.

"What's that?" Ashton yelled.

"Zubat!" Rebecca answered him, before a swarm of them soared right past her and went straight for Ashton.
His turn to gulp now. Aipom brought him down by grabbing his leg with her tail and pulling, and the Zubats barely missed him as they flew by, through the tunnel.

"Phew... thanks, pal!" Ashton said and patted Aipom.

"That's not all of them!" Rebecca called out. She had gotten back onto the ice and skid across the room... once again in the wrong direction. A lot of Zubats were still hovering in circles above her.

"Don't worry, we'll get them off you!" Ashton said, having an idea. "Deino, help out!"

He held out Deino's pokéball and the dark dragon materialized on the snow beside them. It immediately tried to bite Aipom's tail, but earned a light whip from it instead. 'Know your place!' Aipom's look would have told him, if he had had eyes to see with.

"Deino, fire your Dragon Rage at the swarm of Zubats!"

Deino obliged, having no better thing to do at the moment, and some of the Zubats were hit by the crackling, blue beam of energy. They fell down but went up again, soaring towards the boy and the pokémon on the ground instead of over the girl.

"Lure all of them over here!" Ashton said, smiling adventurously. He wasn't afraid of some tiny bats. Deino didn't seem to understand. It started trying to bite the Zubats that had reached them. "No, I mean, use Dragon Rage on the swarm over there again!"

Deino did so, and more Zubats left Rebecca alone. Finally, all of them were hovering Ashton instead, and Rebecca got up from where she had been sitting on the ice.

"Do you hear something strange?" Ashton asked, suddenly noticing that he was feeling slightly nauseus. He looked down and saw that Aipom wasn't feeling well either.

"It's the Sonic Waves!" Rebecca said. "Chase them away, they are making your hearing and balance system go wacko!"

"Deino..." Ashton said, turning to his second pokémon. Apparently, Deino wasn't badly affected. "Use Thunder Fang!"

This time, there was nothing to stop the attack from working. Deino had already been snapping for Zubats for a while. Now he charged up his fangs with the mysterious power that he as an unusual Deino had gotten from birth, he aimed... and he struck the closest Zubat with a shocking Thunder Fang. It hurt in several ways and was critically effective on the poor bats. Those who weren't directly hit felt the electrical sparks fly through the air and moved away, and those who weren't even close sensed the others moving away and moved away as well. The result was that the swarm of Zubats soon stormed out through the tunnel and finally left the humans alone.

The nausea left Ashton and Aipom almost immediately. "Ah... that wasn't so hard was it?" the boy asked his pokémon, who rolled her eyes. "And you, you're so strong! Like a real dragon!" Ashton said, turning to Deino. Deino actually seemed to hear what Ashton said for once.

"Deiii!" it said and snapped with his jaws... in the air. Maybe it had started to learn its lesson?

"But, what is that?" Ashton asked, seeing Deino had one of his paws standing on top of something. Something moving. "A Zubat! The one you bit with Thunder Fang?"

Deino waved its tiny tail quickly. It must be waiting for some kind of praise for catching a prey. "Like some kind of a dog," Ashton remarked. The Zubat was struggling to get free. Ashton smiled. "It's already weak. Let's catch it!"

Deino stepped back and the shocked and ruffled up Zubat took to the sky. But it didn't go far before it dove back down again, straight for Deino. "Wow, it's a battle between a dragon and a bat!" Ashton cheered. "Come on, Deino! Dragon Rage!"

Deino shot out his blast of energy but missed the Zubat, who zoomed in and hit Deino's back while glowing in a mysteriously red color. Ashton almost instinctively reached for his PokéPad this time. It was a bit slower than usual in the coldness of the cave, but so were his fingers. "Leech Seed? Its draining your energy, Deino!" Ashton said, but Deino didn't seem to be able to shake it off. His energy was dropping for every second Zubat sat there.

"Grr..." Ashton was out of options. But Aipom dashed forward and jumped up in front of Zubat with a scream that even made Ashton jump. Zubat flinched and let go of Deino's skin. Two bitmarks were seen where it had been! The PokéPad enlightened Ashton on the nature of Aipom's new tactic. It was called Astonish and was a well known attack. "Great work, Aipom!"

Zubat flapped its wings back up into the air. "You think you'll be safer up there? Wrong. Aipom, Bounce!" Ashton laughed.

Aipom snickered and bounced up even higher than she had done when battling Rebecca's Rattata. She reached the ceiling and pushed herself from it with her powerful tail, adjusting her aim and speeding up her downfall even more. Zubat didn't stand a chance. It was struck by Aipom's aerial tackle and crushed on the ground in the snow. After this, it could really be said to have passed out.

"Hah! Great job, Aipom!" Ashton said and high-fived her tail without thinking. Well, that could actually merit a high five.

He was just about to take out an empty pokéball when a voice reached him. "Ashton... could you please help me out of here now?" He dropped the pokéball and didn't even notice that it landed right on the Zubat...

"Oh crap!" He'd forgotten about Rebecca, who was still sitting in a corner, freezing and shaking by now. He quickly skid over the glass-like floor to her with Aipom, leaving Deino on the snow at the tunnel. "Sorry, sorry..." he said, blushing as he reached her.

She took his hand, and that made him blush even more at first. Then he felt how cold she was and forgot all about being nervous around girls. "Rebecca, are you alright?"

"Yes... just a bit cold," she replied drowzily.

"No, stay awake, I'll push you in the right direction and we'll be out of here in no time!"

He got up and dragged her up with him. Then he turned his face back towards Deino and the tunnel, and was horribly startled.

What was now facing him, floating in the air, was not a Zubat. It was a giant face shaped like a snowflake, with glowing lights for eyes coming from the darkness inside it... and strange icicle chains hanging from what looked like a mouth. It felt like seeing a scary ghost.
Aipom screamed and hid behind Ashton's head. Rebecca was too drowsy to notice and Ashton just blinked. "I'm not scared of you," he then said, giving the floating snowflake a grim look. With the hand not holding Rebecca up, he reached for his PokéPad again. "Really useful thing, this..." he mumbled as the machine identified the pokémon in front of him. "Cryogonal."

"Cryooo!" the pokémon hissed with a rather deep voice.

"What do you want? I've battle enough, you know, and my... uh, this girl here is not feeling well. We're just leaving!"

With that, Ashton took his eyes off the scary face and skid across the ice floor. It was a bit trickier when he had to hold the almost limp Rebecca up as well. He continuously missed the snowy shore where Deino stood and barked at him. He was growing impatient and angry. "Why is this so hard?" Rebecca didn't answer him, and that made him endlessly worried. He was starting to grow very cold as well. He already couldn't feel his fingers or toes at all. This was... maybe not very good. He tightened his grip on the girl and pushed them away from yet another wall... and stopped. In the middle of the icy floor. He hadn't pushed hard enough, not counting with the extra weight. He tried to take a step forward, but slipped and almost fell over again. Rebecca mumbled something.

"I won't give up!" Ashton said, feeling his lips go numb as well and having trouble pronounceating every word right.

Then, Cryogonal appeared in front of him again. "Cryogon?" it said with a remarkably soft voice.

"Help..." Ashton said. That was all that was needed. Cryogonal came closer, unfortunately oozing cold air over the already cold humans and Aipom, who was spasmodically holding on to Ashton's neck. But the wild pokémon pushed them on the icy floor... pushed them all the way until the slow Ashton could feel snow under him again.

A wet and warm sensation came over his face as Deino licked him all over it. "Aren't you going to bite me..." Ashton mumbled. Then things went black without a warning. He was scared. But then he wasn't. It was just black.

- - -

Mmm... warm. Ashton opened his eyes and looked into a fire. He was warm again, laying in his sleeping bag. But there was still snow underneath.

"You're awake," a voice came. A rather old man was sitting beside him at the fire.

"Yes..." Then, he remembered what had happened, and darted up from the sleeping bag. "Rebecca! Aipom!"

"Calm down, lad. They are fine, see?" the man said and pointed across the fire. On the other side, Rebecca was sleeping peacefully with a soft smile on her face in her own sleeping bag. Rattata was curled up on top of her. When Ashton turned to his side, he saw Deino sleeping as well, snoring loudly, and Aipom was curled up on his back.

He let out a huge breath. What a crude adventure... "Who are you?" he asked after sitting down again.

"I'm Gorlo. I just happened to pass by when a Cryogonal and a Deino came out of a side-tunnel, carrying several fainted humans. Of course I had to help and warm you up again. You are at the middle of the road now, lad. At the healing station of Ice Path."

Ashton shook his head. He was still feeling strange in his legs and hands. Cold wasn't a nice thing.

"Where did that Cryogonal come from?" he asked.

"Oh, they live here. Spooky beings, but quite hearty if you get to know them. They have warm hearts, despite them radiating coldness. This one... seems to have taken a liking to you."

Ashton raised an eyebrow, but followed Gorlo's gaze and turned around. He was once again met with a large, glowing face. "Cryoo!"

"Ah!" he said, falling backwards down on the sleeping bag. "What do you want?!"

"Isn't it obvious?" the old man laughed. "Cryogonal clearly wants to take care of you."

Ashton blinked and looked at the pokémon in front of him. Its glowing eyes didn't look that cold after all... "You want to come with me?" he asked it, and god a heavy nod in response. "Well... that was the easiest pokémon caught so far," the boy said and grinned contentedly.

"Do you really think so, lad?" Gorlo said seriously. "You almost died in that ice cave. If Cryogonal hadn't saved you and if I hadn't passed by..."

Ashton nodded quickly. He didn't want to think about that. He looked back at Rebecca. To think that their simple trip through the beautiful Ice Path had taken such a dramatic turn... He had a lot to be thankful for, and patted Cryogonal appreciatively. But he quickly withdrew his hand with a yelp and stuck it close to the fire. "It burns!" he said.

"Of course. They are made of ice, after all. They give you a cold burn if you touch them."

"Cozy," Ashton muttered. But still, being so helpful, the pokémon would surely be good to have on the team. "So, if you really want to be my pokémon, come into the pokéball," he said and stretched out a hand with an empty one, just touching Cryogonal's body, activating the pokéball...

Looks like a fun RP. If room opens up down the road, I'd be interested in signing up. Otherwise, good luck with the RP. :)
My posts look too short, so I'm going to misguide the general public and artificially enhance the length of my posts with this garbage of a signature!

Name: Esposito Delgado

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Appearance: Not someone that many people would get a second look at, Esposito is your average teenage kid. He’s reasonably tall with a pale white shade of skin. His face is nothing special either; thin eyebrows, small nose, pointed chin. His eyes are a shiny dark orange colour which many people see as unnatural. All of this is completed with a bush of spiky dirty blonde hair, with two fringes hanging down near his eyes. Esposito cares little for his looks because he finds that no matter how much he grooms himself or does something crazy to his hair that he will always be one to blend into the crowd unnoticed.

Esposito attempts to get past this, though, by choosing clothes that are unusual and different than that of the people around him. He has three layers covering his torso. The first is a white undershirt that goes up and covers his neck. The second is a jacket kind of thing with long sleeves that goes over his shirt but leaves part of it showing. It is coloured with Esposito’s two favourite colours: blue and orange (it also has a black stripe). It has two pockets which he crams with random stuff like chewing gum. The third layer is another jacket for when he gets cold. It covers all of his arms and is light black with two darker stripes running down his torso from each shoulder, each with a pocket on them. It also has a big orange collar which Esposito likes to leave unfolded.

His pants are long and dark grey with a few pockets which he fills with even more random stuff. The rest of his clothing includes red, black and white sneakers, red fingerless gloves and, to complete the image, a blue pouch with an orange buckle where he hopes to keep his pokeballs. All of his clothes aren’t expensive and fashionable, which is just the way he likes it.

Spoiler:

Personality: Ever since he was shipped to the orphanage, Esposito became a quiet child. He keeps to himself and for 11 years he hasn’t had a single friend and he hasn’t had any intention of being adopted. And he’s fine with that. He believes that the world can be damn cruel, and so the only person whom he can really rely on is himself. He does like the idea Pokemon, though, but never really had one of his own. It would be great to have a person (or thing) apart from himself that he could place his trust in.

So while he seems quiet on the outside, Esposito’s mind is constantly ticking away thinking about...well, just about anything. He’s pretty smart, though nothing special. He may be quiet but that doesn’t mean that he’s the same as everyone else. Esposito will constantly be thinking of how he can act different, look different, be different from all the other people around him. After all, the first step to making a difference in the world is to be different in the world. Esposito also loves baseball, but that’s kind of beside the point.

Background: The earliest memory Esposito can recall is of the day his parents died. He was 4 years old and alone in their house in Pastoria City when there came a knock on the door. He opened it to find the police, solemn looks on their faces and bad news in their minds. The police sat him down and told him that his parents were dead. Esposito didn’t understand this at the time, but he knew that they would be gone for a bit and that these people would find someone to look after him until they got back. Everyone in town would remember that he would give the same answer over and over again to anyone who asked about it or gave him a bit of their pity: “It’s ok, they’ve just gone away for a while. I know they’ll come back because they said they loved me.” The look on his face broke everyone’s heart. Oblivious to the fact that his parents were gone for good, he willingly allowed himself to be taken to some place across the other side of Sinnoh, a place called the Jubilife City Orphanage. He didn’t know what it meant but he knew he would be staying here a while.

Years passed by and Esposito began to realise that his parents wouldn’t be back at all. He grew quite depressed and would fall asleep crying every other night. Every time a couple would come in to adopt him he would have a yelling fit because he didn’t want anyone else to try and be his parents. By the time he was 12 he decided that sitting around being sad wasn’t doing him any good. The world had no sympathy for him so why should he ask? From then on he started living like he had something to live for, because his parents wouldn’t have been proud of him if he didn’t try.

Esposito went to school like a normal kid but never ended up getting adopted. He didn’t want to be part of another family for the sheer fact that he could only rely on himself. At school he exercised the same opinion and as a result had few friends. Recess and lunch would be spent sitting in the same spot out near the playground, all by himself. One day when he was 15, while sitting at the orphanage after school, he overheard some people talking about Professor Rowan and how he would be giving away Pokemon to a few lucky trainers in a few days time. Esposito wanted to be noticed, wanted to make a difference in the world and decided, hey, this could be his chance. That same night he snuck out of the orphanage with a few supplies and the clothes on his back, on his way to Sandgem Town.

RP Sample: From the last RP of yours I was in, "Path to Light and Darkness: End Game" :D
Spoiler:
It felt like several hours had passed as Buck walked, but still he walked on in search of resources. His feet were cut on the bottom and his legs were weary, adding more strain to the trek. If he kept going like this he would probably be finished in a day.

‘No!’ he thought to himself. ‘I just have to distract myself. Lets think about something else…’ Many thoughts filled his mind, but all were too depressing. His family dying, living at camp for what felt like forever, starting this journey. It was like there was not a happy thought left in the world. Not a happy place left.

Buck’s mind settled on how he found the camp. After the building fell on him and crushed his life, after crouching there for an eternity and after crawling out he recalled just walking. Kind of like he was now. His mind was in a daze and his face was streaked with tears. He had walked through the dark and destroyed countryside with horror, seeing dead and dying people littering the landscape.

He recalled sheltering in New Bark Town (or what was left of it) and passing out. For a few days after he awakened he did the usual; found food, looked for survivors, all the smart things. The only one he found was a girl his age who would turn out to be one of his best friends, Issy.
The pair realized there was nothing left for them in New Bark’s ruins and set off once again, hoping to pass through Tohjo Falls and continue through to Kanto to see if anyone else was alive there.

Something caught them, though, and he was knocked out. When he awoke he was at the camp. Buck grimaced. All this time he had been living there but he had never asked where it was! Was he in Johto again, near his home? Was he in Kanto, where things looked even worse? Hell, for all he knew he could be in freaking Isshu! He should’ve learnt more about his surroundings before leaving on a mission like this…

Once again Buck looked up. He could tell lots of time had passed but the sky was still the same, grey, dull colour in all directions of this deserted desert (Buck smiled at the words). Wait...something was different. The horizon had been broken by what looked like a city! Buck sighed with relief. Finally he could find supplies and get back to camp. He was sick of this thing already!

He looked around bluntly and saw, leaning against a tree, an old bycicle leaning against a tree. ‘Say, that could be useful,’ he thought. He rushed over to it and pulled it up. Blue mountain bike, still in rideable condition. It should last long enough to get to that city in half the time! Happily Buck jumped on and started pedaling, singing his favorite song, ‘Shoot to Thrill’ by ACDC in his head over and over.

The closer he got the more he found himself staring at death and destruction. Every building was rubble, burned to the ground. Decaying dead bodies laid all around, all covered in blood. He thought back to the days of the Apocalypse and thanked his lucky stars that he wasn’t one of these sad souls. He slowly braked in front of an old grocery store, but it had been long robbed of it’s contents. A body of a man lay half out of one of the windows. His arm was missing and the skin on one side of his face had rotted away so Buck could see the muscles underneath. Buck pedaled on before he vomited.

Further ahead was a group of bodies next to a petrol station, surrounded by a small bunch of vicious Raticate with teeth covered in blood. The bodies were becoming snacks for them, former lives being decapitated by ravaged animals. Suddenly Buck felt very angry. He was going to destroy these bloody pests. He threw down his bike and pulled of the rusting wheels, which were pretty much flat by now anyway. He ran towards the petrol station and filled the tire with not air, but gasoline. When both were full he pulled out his pistol, loaded it and smiled. This would hurt a bit.

“Oi! You bloody scum!” screamed Buck at them. Their ears pricked up and before they could rush at him, Buck threw one of the wheels in their direction. The Raticate watched it soar towards them, confused.

Blam!

Now, Buck was a damn good shot and it took him only one shot to hit the tyre. The bullet hit the gasoline and exploded, charred bits of rubber flying everywhere. The Raticate were caught with the worst of the blast and one went down, a great smoking hole in it’s gut. The others began to run at him and Buck threw the other wheel, but the rodents were smart enough to dodge to the sides and escaped the bomb.

“Oh. Oh crap!” exclaimed Buck. “Whips, give me a hand here!” he called, releasing his trusted friend. In a flash of white a massive Victreebel appeared and screeched. “Razor Leaf!” yelled Buck, and Whips sent a volley of sharp, green leaves flying at one of the Raticate, which cried in pain as it’s head was sliced in two. It fell to the ground and didn’t get up.

The last Raticate jumped through the air at them and was coming in fast. “Whips, maneuver 13!” called Buck, who then ran forward and jumped on top of Whips’ head leaf, propelling himself into the air. With a couple of millimeters to spare the Raticate soared underneath him, and buck turned around and fired three times into the creature’s flesh. It bit the dust and the battle was over.

“Haha, good work Whips!” laughed Buck as he began to walk back towards it. “Guess that military training paid of - NO!” Buck screamed as an unseen Raticate sprung out and bit Whip’s on his yellow and green spotted belly. Whips roared in pain and used Leaf Blade, throwing the Raticate off. Buck took aim and shot it in the air, and that was the end of it.

“Whips!” Buck ran over to the Pokemon and caught it as it fell over. The bite mark was deep and blood was seeping through the holes. As Buck watched, a sickly color began to spread from the wound, infecting Whips. All Buck could do was stare as, yet again, someone close to him died.

And in the distance Buck thought he heard a cruel, sadistic laugh...

This was a tiny, tiny, tiny bit rushed, so excuse me for that, and I'll add the rp sample later!

Starter Pokemon: Eevee, naturally (:

You're allowed to kick me in the butt out if you think I'm not posting often enough ;; I kind of want to focus on Arcanum since I worked so hard on getting it up, but I'll try to get a decent post in soon. But just so you know, if I seem lazy.
