Time of Shadows - Inheritance Cycle RP [OOC/T]
This RP is based on the Inheritance Cycle of Christopher Paolini. There is only 5 places to take!!!
In The Beginning:
In the beginning, there were dragons: proud, fierce and independent. Their scales were like gems, and all who gazed upon them despaired, for their beauty was great and terrible. And they lived alone in the land of Alagaesia for ages uncounted. Then the god Helzvog made the stout and sturdy dwarves from the stone of the Hadarac Desert. And their two races warred much. Then the elves sailed to Alagaesia from across the silver sea. They too warred with the dragons. But the elves were stronger than the dwarves, and they would have destroyed the dragons, even as the dragons would have destroyed the elves.
And so a truce was struck and a pact was sealed between the dragons and the elves. And by this joining, they created the Dragon Riders, who kept the peach throughout Alagaesia for thousands of years.
Then humans sailed to Alagaesia. And the horned Urgals. And the Ra`zac, who are the hunters in the dark and the eaters of men`s flesh.
And the humans also joined the pact with the dragons.
Plot:
It was many great years until that message. We spend years of greatness, peace and happiness in the land of magic and might Alagaesia. But that horrible message came and ruined everything. Our order the order of the Dragon Riders search harder to find lucky people that a dragon hatchling will hatch for them, more great riders became teachers and we even tell the young that we can use magic from the start of their learning, instead of many years later. That message is even more terrible then the Du Fyrn Skulblaka. We can't forget that message, we can`t. The message that informed us that the Ra`zac and their beasts are arranging and army in the far land to conquer our home. We the proud Dragon Riders going to save are home, we going to defeat these demons once and for all and return the peace to Alagaesia once again!

There is only one person that give me orders, there is one person that can defeat me in a duel and this person is are leader – Vrael. I am Eragon named after the first Dragon Rider, and this is my dragon, Shadow, the Dark color dragon, and this is Islingr my sword. I thought a lot of battles and I know Alagaesia like my hand, I came here to build a team, a group of Six Dragons and Six Riders including me, only under Vrael and my command. I will teach our ways and the art of swordsmanship and archery. Shadow will teach you dragons how to fly in combat and how to use all what you have to fight with. We will also teach you poetry and paint. We will make you proud and brave, powerful and strong. We will be the Black Squad and we will defeat the Ra`zac army and save Alagaesia!
The Dragons Riders Guide:
Races:
Dragons – The oldest and wisest race to inhabit Alagaesia, dragons are believed to be as old as the continent. Dragons are highly intelligent, fire-breathing creatures, capable of flying great distances. Dragons` scales are shiny as polished gems, and they come in every color of the rainbow. A dragon never stops growing, and a mature dragons` wingspan can easily measure a hundred feet across. Dragons use a powerful, instinctual magic that even they cannot fully predict or control.
The seminal event of dragon history was the Dragon War [Du Fyrn Skulblaka] against the elves. The five-year struggle ended with a peace pact and ushered in the lineage of the Dragon Riders who kept the peace for many years after.
The bond between a dragon and his or her Rider is immutable; their closeness is typified by their telepathic communication.
Dwarves – Along with dragons, the oldest sentient race in Alagaesia. Dwarves have an innate knowledge of magic and are renowned in metallurgy, blacksmithing, and other fields. Dwarves believe they were created "from the roots of a mountain" by Helzvog, the god of stone. Their word for dwarf is knurla, which literally means "one of stone". When the dwarves heard the message about the Ra`zac army they locked their cities to all the races. Once in a while a dwarf comes out, but the chances that you will see one or talking to one is very low.
Elves – Their ancient origins are shrouded in mystery. Elves came to Alagaesia from a place they call Alalea, although no one knows where, or what, this land is. Magical beings with a reverence for nature, elves tragically and ironically first assumed the native dragons were dumb beasts. This misunderstanding led to Du Fyrn Skulblaka, the war that ended only when the elf Eragon found a dragon egg and bonded with the hatchling, Bid`Daum. The to not only helped win a cessation of war but also forged a bond between elves and dragons that kept peace for thousands of years.
The elves, who once had a life span similar to that of human beings, are practically immortal, although vulnerable to physical injury. They are known as the "fair folk" because of their physical beauty, as well as their love of beauty in all its manifestations. Elves use the ancient language in song and music to encourage plant life to grow into the shapes they desire, forming the very living spaces of their cities. As students and scholars of nature, elves believe in immutable rules that govern the world. They do not believe in gods and creation stories. The elf nation is today led by the beautiful queen Islanzadi.
The elves have very sharp face, silver hair and stunning eyes. They have no match in swordsmanship from other races and they speak regularly in the ancient language.
Humans – The humans are the youngest race on the continent. They had sailed to Alagaesia from an unknown land. Legends also holds that an evil race followed the humans to Alagaesia, the dark beings the elves named the Ra`zac – indeed, elves have also speculated that these fearsome creatures were the reason humans fled their homeland.
Palancar the king of the humans and the leader of the first sail to Alagaesia had won many battles, but after some time he gone mad and tore up the treaty with the elves, he fought them for the control of the region between the Spine and Du Weldenvarden. The humans lost three great battles, but Palancar refused to concede. Rather than risk further defeats, Human nobles negotiated a separate peace accord with the elves, agreeing to dethrone and banish Palancar.
In exchange, they were given control of Illirea, which made the capital of the human nation.
The tragedy of Palancar`s war spurred Anurin, elf leader of the Dragon Riders, to make the controversial decision to include the humans in the magical bond between elves and dragons, paving the way for the first human Dragon Rider.
Humans come in all the colors and shapes, some of them are chosen to be Dragon Riders, and get a magic abilities, strength and honor.
Ra`zac – The Ra`zac are the size of men but have the physical characteristics of insects and are considered the most evil race in Alagaesia. A Ra'zac has a beak and fist-sized black eyes; its breath is foul, its back is humped. The Ra`zac keep themselves cloaked when among humans. Ra`zac are in a pupal state until, on the first full moon of their twentieth year, they burst out of their exoskeleton as winged creatures ready to feed on any living being. The mature creatures called Lethrblaka and have an intelligence far superior to that of their offspring. The Lethrblaka serve as mounts for their offspring. Ra`zac cannot harness the ancient language and thus are unable to practice magic, although they can block a spellcaster`s mental attacks. Because of their sensitivity to light they favor fighting at night and do so in packs, using stealth to gain an advantage. They track by scent and can see through the darkness of a cloudy night, but they fear water, as they cannot swim. It is dangerous to come within a few feet of a Ra`zac, for its poisonous breath will stun and immobilize its potential victim.
Lethrblaka – The evolved form of the Ra`zac, they have a far superior intelligence then their offspring and they used as there mounts. Some elf scholar once said that Lethrblaka is like a vicious corrupted dragon. To see an image of Lethrblaka write in google pic – Palencar Lethrblaka and it the first image.
Dragon Riders:
Millennia before the arrival of humans and Urgals, the conflicts of Alagaesia centered n the newly arrived elf race and the dragons, the continent`s most ancient race. The turning point in the war between dragons and elves came when a young elf named Eragon discovered an abandoned dragon egg. Eragon bonded with the hatchling, Bid`Daum, and they became ambassadors between their races. Not only was peace ultimately achieved, but Eragon and Bid`Daum became the first Dragon Riders, the knightly lineage that would commemorate the peace pact as guardians of peace and security. Once the exclusive province of dragons and elves, this pact would later include humans. Dwarves, because of the natural suspicion of others, did not even request to be part of the brotherhood of the Dragon Riders.
The Riders have a sign on their strong arm called the Gedwey Ignasia[silver hand] which glow when the Rider use magic.
Riders use swords for battle, each Rider and his own combat style, the Riders` swords made from brightsteel a material that came from an asteroid impact, the elf Rhunon is the only maker of the swords. The Riders` swords can`t be broken nor wear away. The Rider sword is in the same color as the rider dragon aka your dragon is blue your sword color is blue.

In the north side of Vroengard island rests the Riders Academy, the main place riders get trained in. Most of the Academy is in the open field, where lessens can be more effective.
About 2 Kilometers south of the Academy is the Battle Fields. There is a swordsmanship Field, Archery Field and Bare Hands Dual Field.

Rider History: He started to be a rider long time ago; even he doesn't remember how all began. After many great battles and expeditions he became the second in command right after Vrael. He building a group of riders and dragons to fight the Ra`zac army, he serve to win and win to live.

Dragon History: Shadow lived his all life for one purpose keep Eragon safe, his egg was transferred in so many hands until the riders thought it will never hatch. But it did hatch for a young elf named Eragon, from then on the two was always together.
Dragon Personality: Shadow have a fierce mind and a lovely soul, he always suspect in people. He taking a big part in the decisions Eragon and he made, almost always he will find a way to continue even if this is the worst case scenario. Shadow doesn't afraid from death, he afraid he will not be able to serve his homeland and legacy.

Here the Riders both students and teachers are resting with their dragons. Each Dragon and his Rider have a tree house that has all – bedroom, bathroom, and living room/flying entrance for dragons. The house is built with elf magic, which make more house then a tree, the walls are straight and without holes, there is very high ceiling and a staircase that lead to the bathroom and bedroom.

An Island off Alagaesia` northwestern shore, and home to Doru Araeba, capital city of the Dragon Riders.

The capital city of the Dragon Riders shortly after their secession from the elven influence. In this city you can find everything you need, from saddles for dragons to good tavern to sleep in. This is the only city in Vroengard Island. The city is 10 kilometers from the academy. Because the message of the Ra`zac army, Rhunon the female elf that made all the Dragon Riders swords moved to Doru Araeba to help the preparations to the coming war.

Rider Name: Eragon
Race: Elf
Rider Appearance: Eragon have a regular elf face, sharp and pointed, his hair is silver and in emu style. He wear a black tunic like his dragon color, his tunic have long sleeves and went down like matrix coats. He wears a black leather pants and a pair of silver shoes. He have a serious face and have perfect body.
Rider Sex [Male/Female, Kinda obvious ah?!]: Male
Rider History: He started to be a rider long time ago; even he doesn't remember how all began. After many great battles and expeditions he became the second in command right after Vrael. He building a group of riders and dragons to fight the Ra`zac army, he serve to win and win to live.
Rider Personality: Eragon has soul of flame and heart full of proud, he is a great strategist and even better swordsman; in duel only Vrael could defeat him. He doesn't get pissed off easy, but when it happens prepare for the worst because he have a control issue. He is a great friend and love to help others in need, he proud to be a Rider and love his Dragon the most.
Rider Sword: Sword Name: Islingr[Light-Bringer/Illuminator. Hand and a half long blade, the hilt is two handed long, the cross pummel is like Eragon`s cross-guard of Paolini.

Dragon History: Shadow lived his all life for one purpose keep Eragon safe, his egg was transferred in so many hands until the riders thought it will never hatch. But it did hatch for a young elf named Eragon, from then on the two was always together.
Dragon Personality: Shadow have a fierce mind and a lovely soul, he always suspect in people. He taking a big part in the decisions Eragon and he made, almost always he will find a way to continue even if this is the worst case scenario. Shadow doesn't afraid from death, he afraid he will not be able to serve his homeland and legacy.
