That's not a real barbershop. That's a fake, franchise, corporate version of a barbershop.That's why they got gimmicks. They ain't got no real character up in there. A real barbershop got real people, real conversation and most of all, real barbers, and that's what we got here.
You are a citizen from either Kanto or Johto. After the virus spread, you fled to one of the still-standing cities in your region. You met up with the local virus-resistance force, informally dubbed "The Midnight Runners". Their front man/woman offered you a place in their ranks, which you accepted - or did you? Will you join their efforts to rid the planet of the virus? Will you strive to earn a place in the Indigo Plateau? Perhaps you'll seek the Legendary Pokémon, whose powers are more than sufficient to make a difference. It's all up to you - there's only one rule, and it's damn clichéd.

YOU AND YOUR POKÉMON
Most people don't like to be hanged.
This roleplay will not force you to choose a starter Pokémon before writing anything. Due to large migration occurances in the past few years, Kanto and Johto are now home to Pokémon from Hoenn, Sinnoh and Unova! You can choose to not be a Trainer at all, but keep in mind that when a zombie Pikachu clings to your face, you won't stand much of a chance. Three general rules of thumb:
Fire-types (incineration, sterilization) = GOOD, get yourself one of these!
Steel- and rock-types are immune to infection, so seeing one in the wild shouldn't be too much of a worry!
You can either start with a few Pokébros (try and keep them either first or second stage for the beginning of the roleplay), or go and catch yourself one from an uninfected source early on in the story.

TEAM: Ignore this if it isn't applicable. Again, first- or second-form Pokémon, but don't be ridiculous about it. If you're going to have the full six, make them weaker, and vice-versa. And remember, you're out here to survive, not to experience the cuteness of Jigglypuff's bulging eyeballs (though Sing might come in handy!).

APPEARANCE: 5' 7", blue eyes, shaggy brown hair. Skinny due to food shortage. He wears baggy black jeans, with a red shirt, a pair of black running shoes. He wears a baseball cap backwards, along with a black trench coat.
PERSONALITY: Conner is the silent type, who doesn't make friends very well. He is loyal to those few friends he has made. His hobbies are that of science and drawing.
HISTORY: Conner live with his parents near Mt. moon. They were simple farmers who, used a lot of plant pokemon to help around the farm. When they had first found out about the virus, Conner was nervous, his father told him that there was nothing to worry about. That was the last thing that his father had ever said to him. the virus soon took over the family's farm and Conner had to get away. He made his way to the Indigo Plateau. Gathering what he could from his house he managed to grab one of his older brothers extra pokeballs. For a brief second he thought about his brother and wondered how he was doing. he released the pokemon from the pokeball, and to his complete surprise it was a Cyndaquil, Conner was very happy by this, knowing that fire was a very good thing against viruses, plus that's what the news had said. gathering the last vew things he headed for the Indigo Plateau.

APPEARANCE: Tyron stands at 5'9" and has a slim body. Tyron has brown hair and brown eyes and sports a clean shaven face. Tyron will usually wear a black long sleeved shirt with jeans.
PERSONALITY: Tyron is a very social individual. He chooses his friends carefully and will often befriend potential rivals to better understand their fighting style and use that information against them. Tyron won't hesitate to backstab his allies if it means he will gain more power or popularity, because of this he often has to put up with annoying anitcs from 'friends' until he moves on. Tyron believes in only training psychic types as he believes that they are the cream of the crop and that all other types of pokemon are inferior to them. If he does spot a psychic type in the wild he will pull out all of his tricks to capture it. Tyron has a high amount of respect for other psychic type trainers, altough he will still betray them if he spots the right opportunity. A trick Tyron enjoys pulling against other trainers is by using his psychic powers to communicate with his pokemon, although if a situation becomes too stressful than Tyron resorts to calling out directions to his pokemon.
HISTORY: Tyron was born in Cerulean City. From a young age Tyron exhibited psychic powers such as being able to correctly guess words written on a piece of paper. When he turned ten Tyron and his family took a journey to Saffron City and visited the Saffron Gym. He was evaluated by one of the trainers in the gym and told that he was indeed psychic. To practice his psychic abilities his parents bought him an abra that he named Lyes. As he grew older Tyron soon learned a truth of the world, everyone lies. In middle shool he met a psychic from Saffron's Gym visiting the city, he challenged the trainer and promptly lost. He spent three days with the trainer and was taught how to become a true psychic trainer, by using anyone around him as he saw fit. He relunctently followed his mentor's advice and was astounded when it actually helped him rise on top in battle. He slowly became more brutal in battle, often befriending his opponents, finding their weaknesses, and using that knowledge to gain an advantage against them. When the virus found its way to Hoenn Tyron managed to get into Saffron City and joined the midnight runners, eager to show off the superior power of psychic types.

Matthew is a laid back pokemon with an attitude. If it was up to Matthew he would spend all his time just relaxing in front of a t.v. He often enjoys spending time annoying Lyes and will often ignore his trainer when outside of the battlefield.

Lyes is what most trainers would ask for, an obediant and subervant pokemon. He is smart, very smart. He will spend his free time mediatating, calculating what kinds of moves his opponents will use against him. He shares his trainer's sentiment about psychic types being the superior type and will ignore other types of pokemon outside of battle. Lyes operates from a logical standpoint and neglects his emotions as he believes that they are useless.
Personality: The bullying Alison experienced would usually make an individual reserved and timid, but in fact, it did the exact opposite for Alison. the teasing motivated her to achieve better and strive to be the best. She soon learnt to thrive and make positive developments off the trauma and abuse. When she is lacking motivation or spirit she pictures the times of her youth and it able to regain spirit and take out almost any opponent.
She is an outgoing and bubbly individual who has a passion for battiling and an aspiration to become a great trainer, preferably that of a gym leader or E4 member. She will protect her pokemon and anyhting that is valuable to her at the risk of anything; even he life. She is an organised person, often complying with a strict daily schedule, but now that the virus has taken over, it looks like her schedule will be eaten away as fast as zombies eat brains.
History: Alison has had a traumatic past, often bullied and teased by her peers due to what they consider weak pokemon. The constant bullying has affected her emotionall,y but she was able to overcome such a hardship and eventually put the judgmental, shallow bullies into place, when she was able to thwart them in the annual Celadon cup. She then aquired the Celadon city's gym badge after defeating Erika, earning her now humble peers respect, which she honeslty didn't one. She continued to battle and acquired the 8 Kanto badges, meeting several interesting and unique Pokemon, trainers and people until she was reunited with the indigo plataeu and competed in the Kanto League. She was able to make it to the top 4, but was eliminated by a talented trainer and his Arcanine, Slowbro, Staryu, Gyarados, Rhydon and Graveller.

What shelacks up in speed, she makes up with a strong defense and sturdy attack. She always carries her bone with her, which only the people closest to her touch; Alison often carries it for her during certain situations such as long walks or hikes if Bonnie gets tired.

Eddie, Alison's exeggcutor is her strongest and longest companion. Alison first recieved Eddie when he was only a baby exeggcute from Erika her home city's gym leader. The other girls recieved skiplooms and jumpluffs while she recieved Eddie. Eddie being quite slow was frowned upon by the her peers, Alison loves him nevertheless.

PERSONALITY: Izzy likes playing with her pokemon and she always has played football with two of her pokemon. Whenever she goes anywhere she takes her pokemon with one sitting on her shoulder. She is a social girl, but she isn't very girly, and she prefers to be with the boys. She chose to be a trainer of most types, even though she has a big secret. Izzy is kind to her pokemon and fellow trainers, but that doesn't mean she'll battle kindly. (Again, too short?)
HISTORY: When Izzy was younger she had a strange power. She could communicate with dark type pokemon. Her sister was friends with the nurses, and they said she was born with it and it couldn't go. She liked it. She got an Eevee while she was still young, because she loved Eevees and cute pokemon. When she got a bit older, when she was ten, she knew how to be a trainer and wanted to evolve her Eevee into Umbreon. When the apocalypse started, Eevee ran away. They couldn't find her for a year. Izzy thought she was doomed, and that Eevee had been caught by the zombies. But no, Eevee came back one day, and she wasn't 'zombified' at all. Right now, her Eevee still hasn't evolved. She lived in Unova but went to Saffron City to join the midnight runners.

APPEARANCE: Thalia stands at five feet eight, a fairly common height that is classified as neither tall nor short. She has a scrawny build, with little muscles to speak of. Her face is a smooth, chiseled oval with high cheekbones and a pointed chin. Her nose is pointed and her lips wide but thin, and she has a pair of clear blue eyes concealed behind thin wisps of the fair hair that crowns her head. Said hair flows down in beautiful curls to reach her shoulders, where they are unified with several ribbons on either side of her head. She also dons a bandanna with a perfumed cloth rose attached to the right side.
Thalia is of caucasian descent--fenno-nordic, to be exact; as such, she has a very pale complexion and it is very easy for her to get sunburnt when exposed to daylight. As far as clothings go, Thalia is fonder of the lighter hues of the hex scale than the darker ones, with light pink being her favorite color. One of the pieces of clothing she uses often is a frilled rose-colored v-neck with touches of brown here and there, which she wears over a plain white tank top. As for legwear, she's more practical; she prefers crop pants and jeans to miniskirts and leggings. She is particularly fond of belts with a peace sign-shaped buckle. She also likes to don jewelries, particularly earrings and necklaces, of which she has a large collection of. It's also quite rare to see her without her silver Quartz watch on.
PERSONALITY: Thalia has a very quirky personality; she is quick to tease and has a tendency to speak over other people. She is fearless, bold and daring, and isn't afraid of challenging rules that don't suit her ideals. Thalia has ears beneath every grapevine, often eavesdrops, and likes to spread rumors, though more often than not these aren't harmful habits since nobody really takes anything she says without a grain of salt. On more than one occasions she has been noted as an excellent actor, being able to cry at the drop of a hat and laugh at another. She has also been told that she has a powerful, high-pitched voice, though she doesn't plan to use it for anything other than perhaps lullabies.
Thalia fancies herself as quite a fashionista; she was always in on the latest fashion trends in the pre-apocalypse era, though now she has learnt to organize her priorities and she has (tearfully) abandoned fashion altogether, though she still keeps whatever pieces of luxury she could salvage. In battle, she commands her Pokemon with grace, often using the most beautiful, which is not necessarily the most practical, combinations she can think up of. However, her spontaneous ideas and unpredictability makes her Pokemon much more than mere eye candies; they're perfectly capable of holding their own against the best of 'em.
HISTORY: Thalia was born to a set of upper-class parents living in the hills area of Goldenrod City. Her father was the CEO of a mega-corporation, while her mother ran a highly successful fashion studio, designing pieces that had seen their share of the red carpet. She lived a perfectly content life as a child; even though they were busy, her parents always managed to share time with their only daughter. Thalia took after her mother and became most interested in fashion, and even designed her own clothing line, which was more of a personal pleasure more than anything else, since it barely sold.
During a visit to the local department store, Thalia ran into Whitney, the Goldenrod Gym Leader. Their personalities went together like peanut and butter, and they became fast friends. Soon Whitney began to teach her about battling. Thalia was a slow learner, but she managed to skedaddle along under Whitney's superb tutelage. Eventually she left to challenge the gyms of Johto, planning to take on Whitney last. After long travels and harsh trainings along the road, she finally returned to Goldenrod, this time with seven badges in tow.
After a quick visit to her mansion, Thalia went into the Goldenrod Gym and battled Whitney. She was no easy customer, even with Thalia's experience as a trainer. Eventually, though, she came out on top, earned eight badges and went to participate in the Silver Conference, in which she won third place. She took a trip home and planned to stay there for a while before travelling to Kanto. Shortly afterwards, the virus came, and Thalia took her family to Ecruteak City, running away from the now-infected Goldenrod City. After finding a temporary home for her parents, Thalia joined the Midnight Runners, where she fought the viruses with other trainers.
