Uh, were those Team Rocket pictures necessary? Anyway, time for another update.

X Blue Mono-Color - Update #3

Spoiler:
With Grant having been defeated, I wanted to make a quick stop to Route 8 with Strength.

First, I got a Water Stone that allowed me to evolve Fountainhead into Simipour. Second, I caught a Bagon (totally not planned for) that I named Bash. I got a bit more that I need Strength for and continued.

I made my way into Geosenge Town, beating some stupid Team Flare grunts on Route 10. Then we had another grunt in town but he didn't last long.

Once Team Flare was done with, I took on Korrina's Lucario duo, they were actually not very hard at all. I had Feather Dance, Charm, a Fairy-type, a Fighting-type, really, I had everything for this so it wasn't anything significant.

Then I continued on to Route 11, where I caught a Sawk named Islandhead. Took me a while to get one with Sturdy and a not sucky nature (I don't care if it's dirty, I was so done with -Attack and +Sp Atk stuff here). I also caught a NidoranF named Isosceles, but I don't know if i'll use her or not. I took on the trainers, getting my team some EXP along the way. There was that Brains and Brawns duo, but they proved to be a nice challenge (which got four of my team members level ups, haha). Since it was Friday I was able to get a blue purse in the store, which I gave Skye before entering the Reflection Cave.

Then for the Reflection Cave. Some of the trainers were very strong, even the Fighting-type ones, but I muscled through them. (I beat that Throh with Islandhead's Counter, and Devin had 1 HP after killing this Hawlucha.) So yeah, the trainers were strong but not too bad.

I arrived in Shalour, got some items (including the TMs for Dig and Poison Jab), and got the Intriguing Stone from Tierno.

Then I went to the Tower of Mastery, where I beat Calem in a very annoying fight. Next up was the Gym - the trainers had pretty strong Pokémon, and I was trying to cut back on using Devin since she's bulky and I only wanted to use her if it was totally necessary.

Now we come to Korrina herself! Mienfoo was first up. She started with Fake Out which hit for 1/3 my health but triggered Rocky Helmet. Power-Up Punch brought me below half then Poison Jab knocked her to red. She healed, and Poison Jab did more than half. She used Double Slap and hit three times, killing me but killing her with the Rocky Helmet.
Machoke was next, and that I went to Wavebird for. I halved her Attack with Feather Dance, and she used Rock Tomb which did less than 1/3 my health. She used Leer twice, while two hits of Air Slash got her to red again. She healed, and Air Slash did half that time. Then she only used Power-Up Punch, which did a pittance as I killed her with a critical hit that may or may not have mattered.
Hawlucha was last up and immediately killed Wavebird from over half with Flying Press. I went for Fountainhead, and Flying Press sadly 2HKO’ed while Scald did around 1/3. I went for Islandhead. Flying Press left me with 2 HP (it wouldn’t have killed me because of Sturdy), and I used Counter for the win.

That got me the Rumble Badge and TM100 for Power-Up Punch, and an invitation to the Tower of Mastery.

After healing up, I went there, and got the Mega Ring, which I probably will never find myself using. My Mega Lucario lost against Korrina's because of a critical hit but she still gave it to me anyway, and I named it Breaker. I got HM03 for Surf from Calem and proceeded to Route 12.

This dude had a free Lapras for me, given it's my favorite Pokémon ever how could I turn it down. I named it Happy. I got the Leftovers, but took the Skiddo past the trainers and into Coumarine City. I talked to some people, getting some items including the Good Rod. I almost went to get Clauncher, but decided not to considering its move set is very lackluster early on and doesn't get Water Pulse for a little while, so it'd be very hard to use - I felt it'd be better to wait to catch a fully evolved Clawitzer.

After meeting with Sycamore and Diantha, I got HM02 for Fly. Then I went to Coumarine, and beat Calem having just as rough a time here, and wanted to get some EXP.

So I went back to Route 12. I didn't bother with Azure Bay, but I did beat the trainers here for some EXP.

Then I found that maid in one of the hotels and was able to get an Eevee from her. I traded my Meditite (which had a Modest nature) for it.

After my entire team reached Level 29, I went into the Coumarine Gym, beating the trainers with a few concerns but none major. Once I got to Ramos, my entire team was Level 30 (with Sillyputty about to hit 31). Now for the fight itself.

Jumpluff was first. It used Acrobatics against Elegance for whatever reason before being OHKO’ed by Round (which was Ice-type and boosted because of Refrigerate).
Weepinbell was next. I went to Wavebird there, and hardly took anything from Acid. Air Slash flinched and 2HKO’ed him.
Gogoat was last, he was faster and killed me in two hits with Take Down, having 2/3 his health after from Air Slash and recoil. I went for Fountainhead, and Acrobatics didn’t quite kill him then he used Bulldoze. He healed, and Acrobatics did over half. He was faster, but only used Take Down again, which I lived, allowing me to kill him with Acrobatics for the win.

With that, I was granted the Plant Badge and TM86 for Grass Knot. Cool. Afterwards, since I can't evolve Wavebird (since Swanna is white and not blue) and he's gonna be completely useless in the next Gym, I deposited him for Happy, my Lapras, who can learn Ice Beam which might help a bit against Clemont's Emolga. And I got the Lucky Egg. And the Mountain Kalos Pokédex.

I found the Power Plant Pass, and took on this chump right here before entering the Power Plant.

Usually this place has been very annoying for me, but here it actually wasn't as bad as I was prepared for. I had no Revives, but nothing even fainted. I beat Aliana and her crazy Pitbull sidekick without much concern at all, and the power was saved. I met with AZ and then went into Lumiose City's core, where they turned on the power.

Then I was able to enter the Gym! Despite my team being pretty weak to Electric (as full of Water-types) the trainers weren't too terrible but still a bit trippy. Despite being somewhat under-leveled and at a terrible disadvantage (entire team at Level 33), I went in against Clemont!

Emolga was first and used Volt Switch against Elegance for basically 1/4 my health and went into Magneton, and I broke Sturdy with Icy Wind. I switched out to Sillyputty, who almost died from Mirror Shot and had my accuracy lowered, but I hit with Bulldoze and knocked him to 1/3 or so before he killed me. I went for Fountainhead, used Dig, avoided a Thunderbolt and killed him.
Heliolisk was next and killed me with Thunderbolt. I went for Devin, who was also OHKO’ed. I used Islandhead, and a critical hit Thunderbolt knocked me to 2 HP (but it didn’t matter, Sturdy would have activated anyway) before I OHKO’ed him with Brick Break.
Emolga came out again and finished me with Quick Attack. I went for Elegance again, taking a Volt Switch for almost 1/4 my health. Round was almost an OHKO. He healed, same thing next two actions. I had less than 1/3 my health left after one more Volt Switch, but I then killed him.

With that I got the Voltage Badge and TM24 for Thunderbolt. Cool! I left the Gym, met with Sycamore and Lysandre in the cafe and got a King's Rock. Then I was invited to Route 14 with the rivals. We'll do that later.

I honestly don't remember if I posted a sign up already. I'm just gonna assume I did, but just in case...

Username: KoboraX
Color: Blue
Game: X, White 2, Platinum, Sapphire, Silver, Red
Ultimate: Yes, but I'm going in reverse order because I'm weird like that :P

Anyway, as a short little update, I've gotten a nice start on my run of X with Frogger, my starter. To make things a bit harder, I'm banning my Froakie from reaching it's final evolution, mostly because Greninja absolutely bodies everything in the main story, so it would just make things too easy.

As for a team update, I had to spend 10 minutes in Santalune Forest, but I managed to snag myself a Panpour, and because I'm pretty bad with nicknames, I just nicknamed it Dat Hair...because Simipour's hair.

Team Ruby

Frogger (Froakie) Lv. 10 ♂ @ Nothing
Nature: Relaxed
Ability: Torrent
Moves: Pound, Lick, Bubble, Quick Attack

Dat Hair (Panpour) Lv. 5 ♂ @ Nothing
Nature: Impish
Ability: Gluttony
Moves: Scratch, Play Nice, Leer

Yay! Another XY challenger! Anyway, time to continue my story.

X Blue Mono-Color - Update #4

Spoiler:
Once I was done with Clemont, there was something I wanted to do before heading over to Route 14.

And that would be get myself a Chinchou. Yeah, ironic that i'm doing this after the Gym fight, but it wouldn't be very fun watching it wall him, now would it? I named her Illumination.

Then I went to Route 14, where I battled Calem, who is still such an idiot.

Not long after that at all, I got my new Chinchou to become a Lanturn. I also caught myself a Quagsire that I named Hmmmm? (silly name though, will probably change). I beat the trainers and made my way into Laverre City.

Before taking on the Gym, I went back and beat some trainers in previous areas that I hadn't, to get more EXP. Now for the Gym Leader herself! I was only Level 35 across the board but went in anyway.

Mawile was first up, and I used Fountainhead there. Scald did a big chunk of her health and came short of healing range, then her Crunch did less than 1/3 my health. Surf killed her from there.
Mr. Mime was up. Shadow Claw did well over half, and she used Light Screen. Then I misclicked and hit Bite…but she flinched, haha. She healed, and I 2HKO’ed her with Shadow Claw.
Sylveon was last, and hardly took anything from two hits of Scald before she killed me with Dazzling Gleam (second left me with 2 HP, but it wore off after the first). I went to Happy and took a Charm which meant nothing, then, deciding to be a dick, used Perish Song. I used Protect to block her Dazzling Gleam, then switched to Elegance and Illumination respectively to get them both EXP before she fell for the win.

Once I was done there, I got the Fairy Badge and TM99 for Dazzling Gleam and went to the Poké Ball Factory.

Some of the grunts were an annoyance, but it wasn't anything major. Even the admins were alright. I got the Master Ball and Big Nugget then left.

I went to Route 15, and avoided all the trainers first because there was something new I wanted to catch.

I made my way into Dendemille Town, and heard some stuff from Sycamore and Dexio before heading to Route 16. I got the Super Rod, then went back to Cyllage City to get myself a new team member.

And that team member would be Clawitzer. I caught it and named it Lancer. Took some time to settle on one I liked, but who cares.

Then I went back to Routes 15 and 16 to beat the trainers I skipped out on at first.

And Elegance became an Aurorus in doing so, which was pretty cool. Once everyone was Level 40, I headed for the Frost Cavern.

Some of the trainers were a pain, but the one in this picture was the worst by FAR.

That was from that one trainer, mind you. I forgot to take the item off Fountainhead, which nearly ended the fight for me. The Team Flare admins weren't too bad.

I made my way through Route 17 to Anistar City.

After that was done, I went back to the Frost Cavern to get that Eevee sitting in my box to evolve into Glaceon, just on the off-chance that I decide Aurorus isn't worth keeping.

Then I beat Calem, he wasn't too difficult but his Chesnaught was a bit tough. I did a bit more in Anistar, and took on the Gym Leader. My entire team was 42/43, but I went in for it.

Sigilyph was up first and I began with Elegance. She used Light Screen, leaving my Icy Wind to do around 1/4. Her Psychic did less than 1/3 my health and I used Avalanche, which killed her.
Afterward was Slowking. It didn’t do too much at all because of Light Screen, while Power Gem was a 2HKO from my health but I knocked her to half. I went for Illumination and used Stockpile to stall for time, and she used Yawn, then Light Screen wore off. I killed her with Thunderbolt before falling asleep.
Meowstic was last. Not wanting to waste any time, I switched out to Happy and ate her Fake Out. Psychic didn’t do very much at all, while I went for Perish Song. I switched for Lancer, who took JUST under half from Psychic. She used Calm Mind, and Dark Pulse did just over half. I went to Islandhead, survived her Psychic because of Sturdy then she died to Perish Song, winning me the fight.

With the Psychic Badge in hand, I left, but Lysandre announced that he was going to use the ultimate weapon and kill everybody. So I headed to Lumiose City, and made my way into Lysandre Labs.

There he challenged me, his Gyarados was a bit edgy but other than that he wasn't too bad. I then waded through a marathon of Team Flare grunts, and even fought Celosia and Bryony just for some more EXP. I got the Basement Key from Aliana, and went to B2F where I heard AZ's sad tale. Then I went to the very bottom and took on Xerosic. His Malamar was stupid with Superpower, but I got past him.

Even though I pressed the correct button, he still activated the ultimate weapon. I headed to Geosenge Town to stop it!

As I went into the secret HQ, I took on Lysandre, who was still decently tough. Then we had some double battles before making it into the final depths.

Then we beat a few admins before watching Xerneas spring into action.

I caught Xerneas with a bit of difficulty, then it came to Lysandre.

Mienshao was first up, and I began with Islandhead. Acrobatics knocked me to 1 HP, Rocky Helmet did some damage and Counter killed him.
Then was Honchkrow, who was faster and killed me with Aerial Ace, but took damage in doing so. I went for Illumination, and took 2/3 from a critical hit Night Slash and came short of a kill with Thunderbolt, so he killed me with another hit. Elegance was promptly OHKO’ed with Steel Wing. Fountainhead finished him off with Scald.
Pyroar was faster than me and did over 75% with Hyper Voice, but Surf was an OHKO.
Gyarados was last. He Mega Evolved, and Scald did a pittance before he killed me with Outrage. I went to Happy, and Outrage did over half but I lived and used Perish Song, then I meant to use Protect, but I misclicked and used Ice Beam, and he killed me with Outrage before falling to fatigue. I only had Lancer remaining, and he hit through confusion leaving me with 1/3 my health, but Aura Sphere hit for well over half. It was hanging on the wire, and I considered activating Super Ultimate Extra Bulls*** Clause here, but I went for it. He hurt himself in confusion, allowing me to kill him with Aura Sphere for the win.

So Lysandre fired off the ultimate weapon but we escaped from its power, Sina and Dexio were outside and then I saw AZ, which is where I stopped.

Update #1: Red - Ruby
The beginning isn't really that eventful, and I can't really use that many Pokémon yet. Luckily I remembered I could get a Goldeen or I would have solo'ed with Combusken for a while. I also ran into some trouble with my screens, so I only have the Brawly one for this update. Hopefully I'll get the rest of them right.

Screens:
Spoiler:

Team:

Jack the Bashful Combusken (M) @ Lv.22
Ability: Blaze
Scratch, Peck, Double Kick, Ember

Cleo the Brave Goldeen (F) @ Lv.16
Ability: Swift Swim

Guess you can throw me in for another one here! Also, i'm Crackle/Stargazer, so make sure to add that to the OP. Anyway...

X Blue Mono-Color - Final Update (#5)

Spoiler:
After saving the world from Team Flare, I continued where I left off. But I wanted to do some reorganizing for my team and not make it ridiculously full of Water-types. First I gave Skye the plaided blue skirt at Lumiose, then took that Quagsire I caught on Route 14 and changed her name to The Slip. Anyway, I went to Route 18 and battled some trainers there, not all of them but they weren't too important.

Once I arrived in Couriway Town, I was met with Sycamore, and he wasn't too bad except for Venusaur, even though I was switch training The Slip to get her some EXP. Afterwards I talked to a few people in town and got some items.

Then I headed south to Route 19...and was presented with what gave me an AWFUL time that nearly made me lose my hair.

THE BRIDGE FIGHTS. Shauna would dispatch of Elegance and Happy, and the first few times I had Islandhead up front against Tierno, and his Roserade would rip through my team at least twice. I had to grab Fountainhead and use Acrobatics against that, but I did make it past him. And the first time I finally made it to Trevor, his Florgés was horrifyingly tough and caused me to fail. I was hoping he would take Perish Song, but he switched out from that.

He was somehow faster than my Sawk, so I had to lower his Speed the try I won. Raichu wasn't too bad that time since I had Lanturn with Stockpile.

Once I finally made it through those horrible, horrible rival fights, the VERY first thing I did was save after that, please, never again. I arrived in Snowbelle City, and decided on my final team member: Bash the Bagon. That had my team set on Elegance, Islandhead, Illumination, The Slip, Lancer and Bash. I had to do a lot of training for it to catch it up with the rest of my team, so I did some in the Le Yeah Rotation Battles, and turned on wireless communications and used some Exp. Point Power. I transferred some Level 3 from my main copy of X, and I delayed Bash’s evolution until Level 50 so he could learn Dragon Claw, and gain more EXP in its un-evolved stage. I took on the trainers on Route 19 to get some EXP for my two new members.

As I went through Route 20 (I really hate this place), Bash evolved into Salamence. I found Wulfric at the Pokémon Village and headed back to the Gym, where I beat the trainers.

With my team at the helm of Level 50/51, I went in for the Gym Leader.

Abomasnow was first, and I decided to go for Elegance to start. He was faster and used Energy Ball for over half, but I used Icy Wind for around 1/4-1/5 and then killed him with Hyper Beam, which was a critical hit that I don’t think was needed.
Cryogonal came out and immediately killed me with Flash Cannon. No big deal. I went for Illumination instead of being unoriginal and going to Islandhead. It was a long-winded bout with his Confuse Ray, Hail and Ice Beam, and my Rest and Discharge, until I paralyzed him and got him to the red. I switched out to Lancer as he used his Hyper Potion. I used Aura Sphere, which did over half, and he only used Hail, allowing me to kill him with another hit.
Avalugg was last. Aura Sphere was an OHKO.

Then I got the Iceberg Badge and TM13 for Ice Beam, yay. I went to Route 21, beat the trainers there and got some TMs that I can only get with Waterfall.

Then it was time for Victory Road. Had some tough trainers, but some of them were really dumb (one that uses High Jump Kick while i'm in the air? What's your problem?), although we trekked through it.

Calem wanted to battle, though, but he wasn't too difficult at all. I made it through the rest of the cave with some concerns and annoyances (the last three Veterans all were rather tough).

After my arrival at the league, I did a bit more training, mostly off of horde battles. I again transferred Exp. Point Power 3 from my main copy of X several times to make things faster. Once my team was Level 59, I went into the Pokémon League.

I decided to take on Malva first.

Pyroar was first while I began with Islandhead. Flamethrower did less than half because of Rivalry, while I OHKO’ed with Close Combat.
Talonflame came out and finished me with Brave Bird, taking a bit of recoil. I went for Elegance, and she used Brave Bird for less than half my health and was knocked to 2/3 from recoil before Rock Slide finished her.
For Torkoal, I went to Lancer, who took less than 1/4 from Stone Edge before promptly smacking her with Water Pulse, which was a critical hit that I doubt I needed.
Chandelure was last, and used Confide, but even after that Water Pulse was almost an OHKO. Before she healed, I went to The Slip. She went for Confuse Ray, but I hit through it and almost OHKO’ed with Earthquake. I switched for Bash before she healed again. Shadow Ball did just over half and lowered my Special Defense, but Earthquake was an OHKO with the Expert Belt backing.

Afterwards I went for Drasna.

Dragalge did two points under half of The Slip’s health with Dragon Pulse and was knocked into the red with Earthquake. She healed, and I missed with Mud Shot, but the Quick Claw activated and I OHKO’ed her with a critical hit.
Altaria was next. I used Yawn as she only used Cotton Guard. I switched to Elegance, and she used Cotton Guard again before falling asleep. But she switched out to Druddigon as I used Calm Mind, but Freeze-Dry wasn’t enough to OHKO, and she slammed me with Revenge. I went to Lancer as she healed, and 2HKO’ed her with Ice Beam.
Altaria came out again and missed Sing before being OHKO’ed with Ice Beam.
Noivern was last, and I let The Slip be KO’ed with Dragon Pulse because I wanted Bash to take that thing. I barely lived a Dragon Pulse (with 19 HP) and OHKO’ed her with Draco Meteor.

Wikstrom was next up.

Klefki was first up, and I began with Illumination. He used Spikes, while I went for Eerie Impulse to cut his Special Attack. He set up another layer of Spikes as I went for Discharge, which didn’t do too much but paralyzed him. Feeling daring, I switched to Bash as he used Torment. Earthquake killed him from around 70%.
Probopass was next. I went to Illumination again, taking around 1/4 from Power Gem. I used Eerie Impulse to cut his Special Attack before he went for Earth Power, which only did 1/5. I used Discharge just to kill his Sturdy before he killed me with a critical hit, joy. I went for Islandhead, took some Spikes damage and killed him with Close Combat.
Aegislash was up next. He used King’s Shield to block my Earthquake, and I switched to Elegance as death fodder to an Iron Head. He used King’s Shield again and blocked my Earthquake, then Flamethrower did just over half with a critical hit. He went to Blade form and used Iron Head for 1/3. He used King’s Shield AGAIN (what a jerk) and blocked my Earthquake, then I used Earthquake and got another critical hit, not sure if I needed it from 45% or so but it certainly served him right.
Scizor was last and OHKO’ed by Flamethrower.

Siebold was last in line.

Clawitzer was first while I had The Slip. He used Water Pulse, which failed because of Water Absorb, as I used Bulldoze to do 1/3 with a critical hit. Unfortunately, Aura Sphere OHKO’ed with a critical hit. I went to Illumination and used Eerie Impulse, while Dragon Pulse left me with over 3/4. Then I used Stockpile and took his Dragon Pulse like a champ. I used another, and ate another Dragon Pulse. I then went for Discharge, which came short of the kill, but I ate up another Dragon Pulse. He healed, but Discharge was a 2HKO.
Gyarados was up next and used Dragon Dance. Discharge didn’t OHKO, and he healed, but I slammed him with a critical hit.
Barbaracle was next up, and Discharge sadly did less than half. I went for Islandhead, and he used Cross Chop for half my health and took Rocky Helmet damage. I was faster, thankfully, and Close Combat finished him.
Starmie was last up. I switched for Elegance, and took a critical hit Psychic for almost half. Then I went for Bash and avoided a Surf thanks to the Lax Incense, while his Dazzling Gleam did 3/4 to me with a critical hit. Draco Meteor did around 70%, as I went back to Illumination and took not much from Dazzling Gleam, but then he hit with Psychic and lowered my Special Defense. I went for Lancer, and ate a Psychic (but he got ANOTHER Special Defense drop!!), and then a critical hit. I went to Elegance again, and he used Light Screen, but Freeze-Dry still finished him off, good riddance.

Finally, we came to the Champion, Diantha!

Hawlucha was first up as I began with Elegance. I lived Flying Press with over 1/3 my health, and OHKO’ed her with Hyper Beam.
Goodra was up next (yikes!) and promptly smacked me with Focus Blast. I went for Bash, who OHKO’ed her with Dragon Claw.
Aurorus was next. I could have used Brick Break, but I went for Islandhead as she used Reflect. Despite that, Close Combat was still an OHKO.
Tyrantrum was next. I went for The Slip because I wanted to save Islandhead. Dragon Claw did less than half, and I used Bulldoze to cut her Speed. The Quick Claw activated for kicks and I used Scald to knock her to half before she killed me with Crunch, and Reflect wore off. I used Lancer and finished her with Aura Sphere.
Gourgeist came out after that. She only used Trick-or-Treat while I OHKO’ed with Dark Pulse.
Gardevoir was last. She Mega Evolved and OHKO’ed Lancer with Thunderbolt. I went for Illumination, and Moonblast almost OHKO’ed me with a critical hit (guess it wouldn’t have mattered though) and lowered my Sp Atk, but it allowed me to get off Eerie Impulse and cut her Special Attack before she killed me. I went for Islandhead, and Moonblast came short of knocking me into the red, and so did my Poison Jab but it poisoned her too. She used ALL FOUR of her Full Restores here, each time having her knocked around the same point (some coming in low orange), and then killed me with Moonblast, even getting a critical hit at that. I only had Bash left, and was knocked into the red with Moonblast, but I used Fly, avoided a hit and finished her for the win.

As for AZ…Torkoal was handled with The Slip, for Sigilyph I used Yawn and then had Lancer take care of him, even after he used Cosmic Power. Golurk was last and promptly smacked by Water Pulse for the win.

My final team:

Spoiler:

-Green: Sapphire
-Yellow: Johto Game (Exact Game Unknown)

-Black, Purple, White, and Blue (Exact Order Undecided, Exact Games Unknown)

-Brown: X/Y
-Gray: X/Y

The Kalos-based Mono-Color Runs will be done last (Brown, then Gray, and finally Pink).

Man, it's been a month since my last update...thanks for keeping the thread going strong, guys! I am back into this!

Update on Ultimate Blue Monocolor Challenge.

Final Update (#3) on Black 2.

  • After defeating some more trainers on Route 13, I defeated Hugh in Undella Town, then went north to find my last team member.
  • As I approached Lacunosa Town, I found Cobalion waiting for me. Master Balled him and named him Turq.
  • I still need the Legend Badge before I can use him, so I continued on by easily defeating Zinzolin alongside Hugh.
  • Defeated all the trainers around Opelucid City to prepare for Drayden and went vitamin shopping at Shopping Mall Nine as well.
  • Took on the gym, and while Drayden was tough as usual, I was able to win in the end.
  • Before activating the Team Plasma cutscene, I withdrew Turq, and then off we went to save the world!
  • Turq obliterated Zinzolin with Sacred Sword, then I headed over to Humilau City, where I took on the gym.
  • Marlon was a little more difficult than I thought he would be, but I was able to get past him.
  • More Team Plasma shenanigans ensued, and I defeated Zinzolin on the Plasma Frigate this time.
  • Followed them to the Giant Chasm, where I defeated Zinzolin yet again, then also took out Colress.
  • Went inside the cave for the final showdown against Black Kyurem and then Ghetsis, who I took down rather easily.
  • Went through Route 23 to Victory Road, and after EV training, made my way through to the Pokémon League.
  • Moveset finalizing commenced, then used my Rare Candies to get everyone to L62 for the Elite Four.
  • Shauntal was up first, and took a team effort to beat.
  • Next was Caitlin, who was defeated by another team effort.
  • Grimsley was handled by Fulgora's Drain Punch mostly, with Zuzu taking out Bisharp at the end.
  • Marshall was yet another team effort, although Turq finished strong.
  • Finally Champion Iris was up. Here's a video and play-by-play of the battle.

Start of Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge!

Update #1 on FireRed.

Name: Violet
Rival: Blue
Starter: Charmander
  • Picked Charmander as my starter, then caught Raya the Rattata on Route 22.
  • After defeating some trainers in Viridian Forest, I beat Blue on Route 22.
  • Had to grind a little to get Raya to L13 for Hyper Fang, then used it to beat Brock with help from Potions.
  • Went to the grass on Route 4 and caught my first real team member, Rex the Nidoran♂.
  • Went through Mt. Moon, and Rex evolved into Nidorino!
  • Beat the Super Nerd and reached Cerulean City, where I used a Moon Stone to evolve Rex into Nidoking!
  • Defeated Blue easily with Thrash, then beat Nugget Road and got the SS Ticket from Bill.
  • Took on the gym, and Misty was taken out easily enough by Thrash.
  • Continued on to Vermilion City and boarded the SS Anne, where I beat Blue again, then got the Cut HM.
  • Surge was a complete pushover with Rex's Dig.
  • Got the Bicycle, then went through Rock Tunnel to Lavendar Town.
  • Went straight to Celadon City and into the Rocket Hideout in the Game Corner, where I beat Giovanni easily.
  • Silph Scope in hand, I went back to Lavendar Town and into the Pokémon Tower, where I wiped the floor with Blue.
  • Finally I was able to catch my next team member, Shiver the Gastly.
  • It didn't take long for Shiver to evolve thanks to some trainers, and now I had a Haunter!
  • Cleared Pokémon Tower easily and got the Poké Flute from Mr. Fuji, then went down Route 12 to grab the Super Rod.
  • Fished up Shellack the Shellder in Vermilion City, then stealthily went down Cycling Road to Fuschia City.
  • Caught Toxy the Venonat on Route 15, and grabbed the Surf HM for Shellack in the Safari Zone.
  • Saved up money to buy some Coins and then got a jackpot on the slots to get enough to buy Ice Beam, which I taught to Shellack.
  • Challenged the Celadon Gym finally, and after Toxy took down most of Erika's team, Shellack finished off Vileplume for the win.
  • Directly after the battle, Toxy evolved into Venomoth!
  • I am now saved in Celadon City.

I accidentally deleted my save, which is surprising because I don't even use emulators (it was my Save Dongle, accidentally over wrote without backing it up). So my challenge will have to restart. Still using green on White version.

Username: Thunder Pikachu
Color: Yellow
Game: Black 2
Ultimate: Eventually.

Chapter 1
So, I started up the game, and went through all of the pre-game button mashing. After meeting up with Bianca, I got Swagleaf the Snivy. Because of his color, he wasn't a permanent member. I beat Hugh in the rival battle and did all of the tutorial stuff. After getting the running shoes, I left for Floccessy Ranch, where my first and second pokemon were waiting. Once at Floccessy Ranch, Derpy the Psyduck and Ampera the Mareep joind my team! (I didn't realize that Ampera was male, so I'll have to rename him Amperio later) After the events at Floccessy, I went back to Aspertia City and battled Cheren to win the first badge!

Chapter 2
I went back to route 20 to catch two more pokemon. I ran around in dark grass for a while, and finally Sewy the Sewaddle and Flowah the Sunkern joined my team! I did a bit of training, and went to Virbank city, where I challenged Roxie to a battle, and Ampera became a Flaffy!

Pokemon Fire Red Monocolor Challenge: Brown - Final Update

So I suck at this update thing, but I finished my Pokemon Fire Red Monocolor Challenge: Brown.
I have a few screenshots as proof at least.

I also used Randomizer to remove Trade Evolution.

I do have some updates though.
Spoiler:
-I chose Squirtle (Surfer) as my starter
-I used Squirtle until I was able to catch my first Pokemon Geodude (Rasputia).
-Then I used only Geodude until I caught my second pokemon Abra.
-Blue was a pain in the ass with only having a Geodude in Cerulean City.
-I used both Geodude and Abra and grinded Abra to a Kadabra.
-Then I crushed everything between Cerulean and Lavender Town.
-Geodude evolved into a Graveler.
-Until I caught my third Pokemon Growlithe (Dude - My dogs name) and my fourth Pokemon Doduo (SpeedRacer).
-I grinded with Growlithe and Doduo to catch up a little to Graveler and Kadabra.
-Then I did the whole Team Rocket Process in Celadon and Lavender.
-Graveler, Kadabra, Doduo, and Growlithe all evolved.
-Went to Safron and Defeated the Dojo and got my last Pokemon Hitmonlee (Bruce Lee - I know creative right? lol).
-Then went to Fuscia and defeated all the trainers within the circle of Lavender, Celadon, and Fuscia.
-Defeated Koga and Sabrina very easily.
-Went to Cinnabar Island and did a quick run through the Mansion and Defeated Blaine pretty easily as well.
-Did the whole Island story.
-Defeated Giovanni.
-Then went to the Elite Four and Went through the first three pretty easily then used only 3 revives after the battle with Lance, and 6 Hyper Potions.

Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Final Update (#2) on FireRed.

  • Went to Fuchsia Gym and beat Koga, who was tougher than expected.
  • Infiltrated Sliph Co and beat up all the Rockets, then beat Blue in preparation for Giovanni, who I defeated as well.
  • Surfed to Cinnabar Island and caught Smucky the Grimer in the Mansion, then revived Jet the Aerodactyl at the Lab.
  • Started training them up, and eventually challenged the Saffron Gym. Sabrina was tough but I prevailed in the end.
  • Defeated the rest of the water trainers around Cinnabar Island, then explored the Mansion for the Secret Key.
  • Took on the Cinnabr gym and defeated Blaine easily, mostly with Jet's Rock Slide.
  • Did the Sevii Island sidequest for Bill, and Smucky and Shellack evolved into Muk and Cloyster!
  • Then I used VBALink to trade evolve Shiver into Gengar!
  • Took on the last gym in Viridian City, where Shellack swept away Giovanni easily with Surf\ OHKOs.
  • Defeated Blue on Route 22 with just Shiver, then headed through Victory Road.
  • Arrived at the Pokémon League, then remembered to go do the Power Plant, where I encountered a shiny Pikachu!!!
  • Used Rare Candies to get everyone to L50, then finalized movesets for the Elite Four.
  • First up was Lorelei, who was taken care of by Shiver and Toxy.
  • Bruno wasn't too hard either with Shellack, Rex, and Jet.
  • Agatha was a pain, but I eventually won with a team effort.

Guess i'll start another bend of my Ultimate.

Platinum Blue Mono-Color Challenge, Update #1

Spoiler:
So I started the game, chose the girl and named her Saphira. I chose Piplup, then beat Barry, went to Sandgem Town and named Piplup Flipper. I did all the opening stuff then went to Route 202, where I beat all the trainers and got Flipper some EXP. After meeting Looker in Jubilife City, I caught a Shinx on Route 204 named Mane. I got it some EXP against the two in the Trainer’s School, then got the Pokétch. And in the Ravaged Path I caught a Psyduck named Psykick. I then beat Barry again on Route 203 in a long and annoying fight (stupid Withdraw).

I beat the trainers on Route 203 and the Oreburgh Gate, then arrived in Oreburgh City and went through the mine, where Roark was. I beat the trainers there, as well as plenty of Geodude along the way, and by the time I was out all three of my team members were Level 11. The trainers in the Gym got my two Water-types to 12, and I trained Mane up to Level 13 so he would learn Spark.

Then it was time for the Gym Leader! Geodude was OHKO’ed by Psykick’s Water Gun, and so was Onix but not without him getting in Stealth Rock. Cranidos did half on the dot with Headbutt, but I hit pretty hard with Water Gun, and he healed and was left with a tad bit of health before killing me. Flipper survived a Headbutt and killed him for the win.

With that, I got the Coal Badge and TM76 for Stealth Rock and left it off there.

The team:

Spoiler:
(M) ”Flipper”, Level 13
Nature: Docile
Moves: Bubble, Growl, Pound, Water Sport

(M) “Psykick”, Level 13
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Damp
Moves: Scratch, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Water Sport

(M) “Mane”, Level 13
Nature: Naive
Ability: Intimidate
Moves: Charge, Leer, Spark, Tackle

That's all for now, i'll try to get in more progress later.

  • Picked Cyndaquilas my starter, and after doing the initial quest, caught Vexi the Zubat inside Dark Cave.

  • Went through Union Cave to Azalea Town, then cleared the Rockets out of Slowpoke Well.
  • Took on the gym, and Bugsy was easy thanks to Shiver's resistance to attacks and Vexi's Wing Attack.
  • Defeated Silver as well, then saved in Azalea Town. Ilex Forest is next!

Gardenia can go screw herself, seriously.

Platinum Blue Mono-Color, Update #2

Spoiler:
After beating Roark, I went back and caught a Bidoof that I named Servant. I met with Looker in Jubilife then joined Lucas to get Team Galactic out of there. I went through the Ravaged Path and through Route 204 to Floaroma Town. I beat the grunt at the entrance of the Windworks, then beat the two at the meadow. I went into the Windworks and took on the cohorts there. Both Flipper and Mane evolved in the process.

Then I took on Mars! I used Psykick first against Zubat, and beat him with Toxic and a flinch but Flipper finished it off. Purugly was next and killed Flipper, but I lowered its Attack and got it around 60% first. Mane finished her, though. I skipped most of the trainers on Route 205 for the time being then went through Eterna Forest with Cheryl.

I arrived in Eterna City, and before doing anything else, I got the Exp. Share from Lucas’ father. I met with Barry and found Cyrus at the statue, then after he was out Barry told me to make sure all my attacks hit and avoid all my opponent’s attacks, then I met with Cynthia and got HM01 for Cut from her. Then I caught a Magikarp on Route 205 named Gorath. I went back and beat the trainers on Route 205 that I didn’t to get him some EXP, and he reached Level 15 and got Tackle.

After all of that, I took on the trainers on Route 211 and in the Eterna Gym. Once those were done, it was a bit more tedious training to get Gorath to Level 20 to evolve him into Gyarados, but I got him there. And I caught a Meditite named Mattermind, which I decided to catch up with the others too, getting them to Level 19.

Then it was Gym Leader time. I was hoping Gyarados would make the fight a lot easier…my goodness was I wrong. I nearly lost my hair trying to win this fight, and couldn’t win worth a darn, so I said forget winning without items, right now I just want to keep my sanity, and bought a few Revival Herbs. Even at that it still took a few more tries. I ended the battle with a critical hit Bite against Roserade with Mane from around half her health. Hopefully I don’t have to use any more healing items in battle for the rest of this, except maybe against Cynthia. Seriously, NEVER AGAIN.

After that horrible time, I went to the Old Chateau and caught Rotom (won’t use it, just caught it for Necrum’s Carnie games). Then I stormed through the Galactic building, the grunts were no real concern, then we came to Jupiter. Zubat was OHKO’ed by Mane’s Spark, then I let Mattermind fall to Skuntank so I could bring Mane in again and get off an Intimidate. She missed with Poison Gas, then I got TWO critical hit Sparks in a row, taking a bit over 1/3 from her Night Slashes but winning the battle.

I got the Bicycle, then went down Route 206. I beat the trainers there, got the Vs. Seeker from Lucas, went through Mt. Coronet and found Cyrus, then passed Route 208 and arrived in Hearthome City. I got the Amulet Coin at Amity Square, picked up the Eevee from Bebe, and saw Johanna and Fantina at the Contest Hall.

Then I decided to YOLO it against Fantina. Duskull took less than half from BubbleBeam but missed with Will-o-Wisp, and I roughened her up a bit with physical attacks before finishing her off. Mismagius was second and left me with 1 HP from half with Magical Leaf (!!), and that allowed me to get off a nice chunk with BubbleBeam before going down. Her Shadow Ball did less than half to Gorath, and I lived two with 2/7 my health and killed her from where she was with two hits of Bite, even after her Sitrus Berry. Haunter was last, and missed with Hypnosis, while I OHKO’d her with a critical hit Bite that may or may not have mattered.

With that, I got the Relic Badge and TM65 for Shadow Claw, and saved after healing up.

[QUOTE=jdthebud;8475405]Update on Ultimate Purple Monocolor Challenge.

Update #2 on HeartGold.

  • Got Headbutt in Ilex Forest, then used it on Route 35 to catch a Pineco named Walda.
  • Trained around the city, and eventually took on Whitney, who was a little difficult but I was able to confuse Miltank.
  • A little after that, Vexi finally evolved into Golbat, then 1 level after that, evolved into Crobat!
  • Killed Sudowoodo and got to Ecruteak City, then backtracked to pick up Sphynx the Eevee from Bill in Goldenrod City.
  • Back in Ecruteak, I went Snubbull hunting on Route 38 (1% chance), and while that was happening, Shiver evolved into Haunter!
  • Finally I caught one, but because it had a Modest nature, I bred for a better one at the Daycare, and out popped Flailer the Snubbull!
  • Did some training around Ecruteak City before entering the Burned Tower, where I defeated Silver.
  • Directly after the battle, Sphynx evolved into Espeon!
  • Used Sphynx's Confusion against the gym, and defeated Morty without too much trouble from Gengar.
  • I am now saved in Ecruteak City.
