Day 10 - Favorite SciFi/Mecha anime

Eureka Seven for this one. That anime was just a breath of fresh air, personally. You'd think it would go down the Gundam path and show awesome robotic action scenes and such usually without plot, but it didn't for me. It was rewardingly rich, and the strong storytelling that didn't lose focus just sucked my emotions and made me enjoy watching it. Plus it still shows giant robots beating each others gears out. Haven't caught up with the sequel yet, sadly.

And if it all goes crashing into the sea

Day 10 - Favourite Sci-fi/Mecha
Not my genre of perference, but I did see Macross Frontier as part of anime club and found it to be surprisingly enjoyable. Maybe it was the whole music-related substory. Or maybe because Ranka-chan was so cute.

Day 10 - Favourite Sci-fi/Mecha

Ehh honestly I don't watch any that could really be considered sci-fi, its not really a genre I'm interested in :c But I've heard tonnes of good things about one called 'Ereka Seven' or something like that, so I'll make sure to check it out some time. :3

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life:

Genshiken by miles, even though it's not my top-scoring one in the genre (that belongs to Kanon and Clannad After Story). It's a show about geeks that is very well done and highly amusing.

Day 10 - Favorite Sci-Fi/Mecha:

This one goes to Halo Legends. Given what was known about the Halo universe, it was nice to see some more exposition about the Halo universe without having to play through one of the games, and it had very fluid animation and fun-to-watch action scenes.

Perfect topic to jump into.

Day 10

Huge mecha fan, particularly the old stuff. I think Armored Troopers Votoms edges out Zeta Gundam by a tiny bit. Chirico is probably my favorite protagonist ever (while Kamille is nothing too special) and Votoms focused a lot more on a pilots skill than having some overpowered machine. The plot is really intriguing even though it does wear thin near the end. Shows back then are just a lot more grittier, which I love. :D

Martian Successor Nadesico

After thinking about it, Nadesico. Absolutely hilarious and gets better every time I watch it because of all the references I get as I rewatch it.

About this next section:
Do your research. The easiest thing that determines what age a series goes into is the magazine the manga ran in and the time slot the show runs in. Wikipedia usually will have them present, though check your respective anime dictionary sites as well.

Day 11 - Favorite Shonen:

I'm going to cheat a bit on this one and use a series that I know is shonen, but didn't have a quality anime: Negima!. It's technically shonen since it ran in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The series is quite an amusing read and has plenty of action, and sometimes it feels like it's a magical girl series masquerading as a shonen series, but usually only in the comedy portions. It has quite a liberal volume of fanservice at times (especially in the comedy portions), but if you look beyond the fanservice, there's quite a lot of detail that goes into the backgrounds, since a lot of the backgrounds are designed in 3D to give the scenery consistency and to save time. Quite honestly, the intricate backgrounds are the best parts of the whole series, and that's more a testament to the backgrounds than a judgment of the series itself.

Day 11 - Favorite Shonen Anime

Baka and Test

Baka and Test was just plain hilarious and interesting. This is a really great Anime and I highly recommend it if you want to go for a few laughs and entertainment. The protagonist is an "idiot" and that's what it's really all about. It's just a perfect show to watch and the graphic is more than just decent for it as well.

It's all really just about school, taking tests for their avatar scores, and facing top notch classes (They have classes A to F and F gets the worse equipment while A gets the fancy stuff, etc) and it's all really about outsmarting their opponents.

Day 11

One Piece no doubt. Well-developed, interesting characters, vivid and colorful world, intense battles, and some tear-jerking moments too. Sure, it does take awhile for it start chugging along, but it was definitely worth it for me.

Only show that'll have you crying over a boat too, lol.

Day 11 - Favourite Shonen.

I'd have to say Bleach and or Fairy Tail. I watched Bleach weekly as it came out, which was great and I watch Fairy Tail the same way. Both are fantastic and very entertaining :)

Day 07 - Most treasured anime-related merchandise (if you don't have any, something you want)
My Saber Lily Golden Caliburn fig. I love it... even if I had to pay out the ass for it.

Day 08 - Favorite Action/Adventure
Baccano or Darker than Black. Even if the latter is a bit episodic, both are very enjoyable.

Day 09 - Favorite Slice of Life
Oh man, there's too many. If I had to narrow it down, probably would be Hidamari, Minami-ke, or Yotsuba.

Day 10 - Favorite SciFi/Mecha anime
I don't really watch too much mecha, soooo gonna have to go with Kaiba (definitely has the best Sci-fi setting imo) or Lain.

Day 11 - Favorite Shonen anime
I'm always confused at what is really considered shounen but I'll say Gurren Lagann. It did have a Saturday morning timeslot, apparently.

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo Anime

The old and popular Anime, and topnotch one of my all time favs, Sailor Moon!

I am so glad that one of my friends showed me the best Sailor Moon site to actually re-watch all of these episodes for free! It's such a memorial adventure watching them again! It's a shame that in today's time, this series is like not popular. Everyone I seem to asked if they liked Sailor Moon, always end up saying they do. Sailor Venus!

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo Anime

I really haven't watched any Shoujo anime before and really don't plan to watch any. I don't see myself ever wanting to see these animes. I did watch Sailor Moon when I was a real little kid though! If that counts.

Day 11 - Favorite Shonen anime

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! would be my pick. I miss this show and its wackiness. Sure, it picked up kind of slowly and had odd plot twists but it was still a solid anime to watch. I enjoyed the effects, the characters were funny, and everything eventually got more and more serious like most of its genre. But I liked it. Especially because I actually got to follow the show grow from the first episode, unlike the more popular ones that I've seen. It wasn't breathtaking, but it was charmingly unique.

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo anime

I haven't watched a lot of Shoujo anime in recent years but I did fairly enjoy watching Cardcaptor Sakura. The Pokémon-ish and action-ish themes probably made me like the show this much, so yeah. It's a pity I never got around to its conclusion.

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo Anime
Have to choose one Pretty Cure season for this, so I'm going with Yes! Pretty Cure 5. It's action combined with hand to hand combat, and the evil organization is actually organized like a company with minions who wear business suits and face threats of salary cuts and being laid off when they fail. And mid-level boss Bunbee is epic :)

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo Anime:

This probably should go to the only one I have watched in its entirety, that series being Negima! Princess Jellyfish, or Kuragehime for those who know it by its Romanized Japanese name. I do feel it was cut short too soon, though.

EDIT: Guess that's josei, not shoujo. Which means I don't have a favorite shoujo, as I haven't completed any such series to my recollection.

Day 12

Maria-sama ga Miteru is easily my favorite shoujo. On the surface it probably appears pretty boring to most since it lacks comedy, fanservice, and most facets of anime set in a school setting. Yet the characterization and progression of each girl is what really makes the show. The show is grounded in realism so everything is pretty believable and really gets you attached to everyones struggle.

Still don't know why I decided to watch it either. These kinds of shows have never been my cup of tea yet it turned out being one of my all-time favorites.

Day 12 - Favorite Shoujo Anime

Cardcaptor Sakura

There's just so much to love about this show: the artwork, the story, the songs, and all done in the form of a mahou shoujo series. It's great.

Note: Seinen and Josei are a lot lesser known, and thus I figure it'd be a good idea to specifically say that Seinen and Josei are the more mature equivalents of Shonen and Shojo respectively.

My favourite demographic for anime (Josei for manga).

Monster, LotGh, Ghost in the Shell, Hellsing Ultimate, Black Lagoon, Baccano, Requiem for the Phantom, Kuuchuu Buranko, Kaiji, Giant Killing and a host of cute girls doing cute things shows, damn this is hard to choose.

I guess I'll go for Monster.
