It's a fair thing to say that some of you could care so little about fashion it isn't a word in your vocabulary, yes? Maybe some of you live by whatever is decreed fashionable by Vogue Magazine and it's deity-like editor, Anna Wintour. So, what I'm asking is: do you care for fashion at all? If so, would you describe yourself as a 'fashionista'? Do you try to keep up with the latest trends? If not, why? Is it just simply due to costs or complete lack of interest or what?

I generally buy brands, so I suppose whether or not I keep up with the fashions generally comes down to if I like what's in store. tbh, a lot of the winter stuff this season is a bit of a let down- I had a good look around last weekend, and only found a couple of things I really liked. Places like marcs, sass and bide and country road are usually staple shops for me, and even they are average I think. Keep for spring 2012 emerge!

I think there is fashion that works for someone and fashion that doesn't work. I don't try to keep up with what everyone else is doing/thinking about fashion, but what I care about and works for me.

To be honest, I think like 75% of fashion is just good materials and quality in how its put together and only a small portion is design/artistic stuff since, when you get down to it, there's not a whole lot that changes over time. Only runway models wear anything even remotely different from everyone else and even then it's only on the runway. That's just not something worth the effort of following for me.

I don't care about fashion at all and have never understood it. I don't even ever wear different clothes. I mean, I keep the same clothes from year to year. I see no purpose at all in buying new ones periodically. xD
That said, I do whatever I can to make my own style and portray it, but it has nothing to do with what other people are wearing, really.

I don't really dress up often, unless I'm going out somewhere nice or if I'm on vacation. I don't follow magazines or brands or anything though. I like to mismatch things and have always had my own style. Should have seen me in high school, haha. But I don't really keep up with what's hot and what's not, though I do tend to like it and might abide by it if I can afford it. I'm gonna be shopping a lot on vacation soon hopefully. Yay.

I have a tendency to be a bit of a fashion police though. I've never hesitated telling my mom if something looks weird, though she thinks I'm the one that dresses weird lol. According to her, I "never match" but in my sense, not matching is matching. But I used to boss my sister around with what she wore if I thought it was ugly so she tends to ask my advice on clothes when she can lol. There are SOME PEOPLE THOUGH that I wish I could arrest because some of their outfit choices are atrocious. And it's not really them. Cough.

I don't really care all that much about fashion on myself. I just wear whatever I find on my floor usually; just regular clothes.

I do care about fashion when it comes to the celebrity sphere though, and I watch Joan Rivers' Fashion Police every week to find out who in Hollywood looked amazing this week and who did not. It tends to be more of a guessing game than anything as to whether the cast will like any particular outfit, because I tend to think things look great and then they come out and say 'oh it's ill-fitting and that colour is awful'. You could make some sort of drinking game out of it haha.

I do love Anna Wintour as well, in the same way I loved Miranda Priestley in The Devil Wears Prada. She seems so stylish and no-nonsense and has all this pretense about her and I find that kind of person absolutely fascinating, even if it isn't the kind of person I'd wish to be friends with in real life.

the only thing i love about fashion is the photography aspect of it (as in, editorials and such in fashion magazines). but as for fashion per se, i wouldn't really consider myself a fashionista because i'm not really into buying branded things (unless the quality is considerably superior than that of a lesser known brand) and keeping up with trends. i do like to dress up however -- do my hair, wear unnecessary overcoats, etc -- but only when the occasion permits me to (i.e. the place where i'm going is cold).

i'm Briar.

What's Vogue? lol

So yeah, I wear an old worn out hoody, a t-shirt, and old torn up jeans every day... and not the kind that you buy worn out. I've just had them for like 6 years.

Fashion is like, the least important thing in the world to me. lol

I probably should care more about fashion and yet... I really don't. I like what I like - long-sleeved shirts and jeans - and know what I don't like, but even within that narrow subset, I don't really care about which shirts go with which jeans and the like. I'd like to think that if I had more money, I'd care more, but we'll have to wait and see on that front.

I'm obsessed. I plan to be a hairstylist, and maybe one day work for a big fashion magazine, so I'm always reading and keeping up with knowledge on the new trends and fashion history and all that jazz. If I had the money I'd own most of the styles and trends, too. >>"

I wear what I like and don't care if it's fashionable. My stance is that name brands are important for cars, electronics, and overnight accommodations, but not for clothing or hair products or things of that nature. I am probably so out of touch with modern style that I can actually laugh at myself for being this way :P

Fashion is just not something I really cared about keeping up with.

I like to look good, and I'm sure that I unconsciously follow trends based on living a social life and wanting to look good. But I don't go look at the trends and wear them no matter what, haha. Does that make sense?

Not all men...

Are all men stupid?

That's right.

I used to pretend like I didn't care, but there is no point in pretending anymore I CARE. I love clothes with patterns or like something that changes material in the clothing. For example something like that cardigan that is silky and then goes into a lace material in the back or on the shoulders. BUT A NICE CARDIGAN. Not grandma style. Or I also love layering with contrasting colors or wearing an accessory that contrasts with your outfit. But I'm not a fashionista and I don't follow trends I just always want to look my best because then it makes me feel at my best.

I see people all the time who just wear frumpy sweatshirts everyday of the week or plain colored shirts of the same style in every color. WHY ARE YOU DOING THAT? It doesn't take much to look your best and tbh a semi decent shirt is probably less than a full sweatshirt in price anyways and if not idk where you're shopping! Also you don't need to buy a name brand to be fashionable you can find the same exact name brand styles just about anywhere for so much less. So whoever has convinced themselves of that TIME TO STEP OUT.

See, I care about my style, but that's as far as it goes. If I think it looks good, I'll get it. If someone else tells me I should get this or that, I won't be getting that since that isn't my style. I view fashion itself to be very objective, where style is subjective and stems from the person. I don't care about the latest trends (in fact, I literally have no idea what the current trends are) and I don't try to take the time to know. I just like looking nice and wearing clothes that I think look nice on me. I don't consider that a fashion forward person, though. I have an eye for color coordination, as a designer, but that's the only thing that I openly take the time to make sure works if I'm going out with the intention of looking nice.

I'm not into fashion as much...although I can already feel myself getting into it later on in life. Just now I'm understand what fits today and what doesn't. Even so, as long as the colors match{only tend to wear two colors.} It does matter how I look like. I want a good style, a good color scheme, and hope it matches. COSTS DON'T MATTER TO ME...I rarely buy. I go to flea markets and get them for Christmas and other holidays. {Yes, so many holidays}.
