The idea of this came to me after my boss has called me to give me the day off, only to call me back an hour later and ask me to come in. As if my life is devoted to my job and I wait around for them to call me in.

So, do you have a job? If so, what do you do? And how is your boss(es)?

I'm a Web Designer for the nightclub associated with my college. The boss that I really liked just quit this past school year, so now I'm left with a boss that, while she's really nice, doesn't understand websites at all. She forced me to put auto-playing music on our site, after being told both by me and my old boss that that's one of the most hated things done on websites, because she felt like people needed to hear that WE HAD MUSIC on the site. She's a good person and really nice and flexible, she just doesn't know anything about what's going on with the site haha.

I have a job secured for me, but I don't start it until mid-August. Essentially, I'm going to be a corporate lawyer, so if you're planning to make any joke about me selling my soul, you'd best make it a good one; I've heard a lot of them! ;D While I haven't started the job as of yet, I have met a lot of the people I'd be working with, and though I don't know if any of them will be my boss, they've all been really nice to me thus far. Of course, that could instantly change in a heartbeat if and when I forget to send an important document to a client... but here's hoping that they'll be nice!

I'm a waiter at a fancy kinda restaurant haha. I only work Sundays, which is when we do the buffet. It's pretty awesome. We get to eat later after we close the doors to walk-ins and remaining customers have paid (they need to quit sitting there and gtfo though lol). My boss is really nice and flexible though. He likes to joke around, but when he's serious, he's serious. But on Mother's Day, he did let me go across the street to see my mom...in fact, he made me go over there lol. The only person I really can't stand at work is his mother. She's old and crazy and tells us to do things that our supervisors tell us not to do, so we end up getting in trouble with them or the old lady. It really pissed me off one day when I was there...but whatever.

I don't have a job at the moment, but I did use to work in a fish and chip shop a while ago. My boss there wasn't a very nice guy to be honest. He was really quiet manipulative and didn't really think about his employees. At first I use to work both in the back of the shop washing dishes and in the front serving customers, but after a while he let me go so he could hire a friend of his who needed a job. After a while though he called me back in and asked if I wanted to work again because someone else had to leave, so I said yes obviously since I needed money. I was only allowed in the back though because I apparently I wasn't loud enough to work in the front. After a while though the shop began to go down hill and he said that since I "refused to work in the front" he'd have to let me go since he couldn't afford to hire someone to only work in the back.

I'm a waitress-in-training/hostess at a restaurant, but I just finished my last shift today since I'm summer break now and I start up again when I go back to school. I've known the owners/the manager of the restaurant for over 10 years since they're family friends. So when they found out I was in the city for school, they offered me the job which I'm super grateful for. They're really laid back and friendly and yeah...definitely spoiled for my first paid job ha :)

Over the break I'm hoping to get a job at a smoothie place, but we'll have to see how that goes!

I run my own media design team so I am my own boss, but I also do animations/web designs/music for a variety of people/clients. Some of them are very easy to work with and others not so much =_=

I work in a liquor store chain which is part of a big corporate supermarket chain. I work at two different stores and both my managers are frikkin' awesome. They're both down-to-earth, funny people and you don't really feel intimidated by the fact that they're managers because there aren't that many people who work in each store and therefore it's really easy to get close to everybody - managers included. The manager at my main store is a lovely woman who's just turned 60 yet she knows how to party better than I ever could - and the manager at the other store I've started going to is this awesome gay guy in his 50s and he's absolutely hilarious and just doesn't give a crap about anything.

Once you get higher up than the store managers though, it begins to deteriorate. With each ring on the corporate ladder comes a higher level of wank, and they've given me something to aspire not to be. When the area and regional managers come around to stores, you can just sense the wank levels in the room rising and they're just dripping with pure wank. If even one of them as a child had looked at their mother and said "Mummy when I grow up I wanna be a workplace cliché!" it would be solid evidence that dreams really can come true.

No job currently, and I've been looking for well over a year now. Those are the breaks when the economy sucks, you have a constant rash over your body, and you live in the middle of nowhere.

I did have three jobs while in college, and I only recall having issues with one of my supervisors, and even those only happened rarely. Other than that, I've had pretty good relationships with my bosses.

I've been working at the same pizza place for almost 3 years now. It's pretty easy work. Right now my boss is the best I've had since working there. She's like a second mom to me. She's really easy to get along with and she's hardly ever unfair. And my co-workers in general are all pretty laid-back and fun to be with. :3

I am kinda a co-boss but I do clash with the other boss every now and then. But eh no complaints I do get along with everyone fairly well most of the time and I do have a fairly laid back job so its definitely worth it then.

Personally I don't know how I would handle it if I had a horrible boss, I'd probably end up quitting if my boss made going to work unbearable.
