Simple question: Have you ever been so tired that you have laid down for a quick rest and chosen not up because you just don't want to. If so, what caused this extreme tiredness?

I tend to get like this after long work with coupled with going to the gym, staying out later then I should with friends, etc.

Yeah, I tend to be this... especially if I sleep in.

Blame it on doing too much PC browsing the night before (and I mean PC).

I initially thought this had something to do with falling in love. xD
Anyway, yeah, I felt like that almost every after school day.

Due to me being the person who does EVERYTHING in the household, by the time I'm back from work and I've cooked and whatever I need to do that day, by the time I lie down my bed at 9:30 pm, I just don't want to get up for about 26 years, but I force myself to get up and do anything else I need to do because I'll be damned if I have to do it at 6am the following morning and THEN I start relaxing, watching tv/doing stuff on the internet and then repeating this cycle the next day and so forth. It's tiring, it's stressful, but I enjoy it.

Yep. Eating too much, a long day at the beach (and maybe some sunburn), a lot of exercising, or like today will probably be since I woke up with not enough sleep and will have to lie down for a bit later after doing all the things I'm gonna do.

I never take naps since I sort of feel sick when I wake up from them, but when I'm sleeping normally, I won't get up unless I HAVE to. Even if I set an alarm for a certain time, if there's nothing actually going on at that time that I need to do, I always end up turning it off and going back to sleep.

I'm "resting" a lot of the time since I'm just a lazy person in general :P

I don't think I've ever had an extreme case of tiredness that's caused this, but it happens more and more often lately regardless. I've told myself that I'll never sleep past 9am because I hate doing that and it's a waste of a day, so I set myself three alarms on my phone - at 7:45, 8:45 and 8:55 - just to make sure I get up before 9. Even still, it's becoming more and more common for me to turn them all off and get up around 10... which is what happened this morning :P

A lot of my "I'll just close my eyes for 5 minutes" ideas turn into hour-long naps, from which I wake up and either feel rejuvenated, or even worse than when I laid down in the first place.

I'm a pretty lazy person by nature, so if I end up laying on my bed, then I probably won't get up until I awake from a nap. I also tend to nap whenever I have the slightest amount of drowsiness.
Sorry I can't hear you; my awesomeness is too loud.

I tend to take little naps here and there throughout the day. They usually goes from quick 10 minute naps to a 30-an hour nap. Or if I stay up all night like I have been lately, I would plan to just nap for 3 or 4 hours and end up sleeping a full 10 hours. For example, I would go to nap at 8pm and set an alarm for 1pm. The alarm would go off , I would wake up wanting to get out of bed but being the lazy person I am, would go "eh another hour won't hurt." Then I ended up sleeping for 5 or 6 more hours and wake up around 6-8pm. >.<

I didn't think I was able to 'nap' until this year. Basically, I had a few months of irregular sleeping patterns - mostly self-inflicted due to travel and a myriad of sleeping conditions - but that experience has meant that I can now pretty much sleep anywhere and at any time if I so wish. Which is actually a good thing, as now I can have a nice nap if I've had a bad night's sleep - which is happening more and more frequently nowadays! (The napping, not the bad sleeping. I'm getting loooooots of sleep nowadays.)

All the time. I'm also really lazy sometimes, so that doesn't really help. Like if I'm laying down and the remote is on the other side of my bed and something is on TV that I don't feel like watching, but I don't feel like moving and getting the remote, I'll just be like "screw it I'll just watch this!!!"

That seems to happen not only when I lay down for a nap (which occurs nearly every day now) but also when I first get up in the morning. I'll instinctively just pull the covers over my head and doze off again, and it'll take a couple more tries to finally motivate me to get up. Usually it happens when I haven't gotten a good night's sleep the night before (which is becoming more frequent and is the reason I lay down for naps in the first place). Surprisingly, how active/busy I am doesn't seem to affect it nearly as much as whether I'm caught up on sleep.

In college, the snooze button on my clock became both my best friend and my worst enemy. I had to start putting it across the room so I actually had to get up to turn the alarm off. That helped somewhat in waking me up when I would have otherwise went back to sleep.
