I realized that I have never posted a update for my mononormal run, so I will cancel that and actually start a new challenge that I will update, so here it is:
Username: PokeChallenger217
Challenge?: Ultimate(except X/Y but will extend this run to X/Y when I get them)
Type: Rock, a type that I never use(lol, it seems like rock is among people's favorite type, but I hate them, probably because I have battled Brock so many times and easily won XD)
Games: Blue; Crystal; Emerald; Platinum; Black 2
Let's see if I'll actually stick with my promise this time.

Update
Spoiler:

Got to lake Verity beat a few grunts
VS Mars
Golbat was down to vespiquen's power gem 3HKO
Bronzor was down to Attack Order 3HKO
Scizor 2HKOd purugly with brick break while it couldnt do much to me
Went through mt coronet, had an unfortunate run in with a trainer's rapidash (stupid fire blast i swear to god i am taking crustle in 5th gen) eventually beat it by revive spamming it out of fire blasts and finishing it off with scizor, she had a golduck too but it was easy enough for scizor.
Got Rock Climb taught to SlaveBarel
Got to snowpoint beat gym trainers
VS Candice
Thought i might have some trouble here considering Ice is SE vs Flying but it was fairly easy.
Yanmega 2HKOd sneasel with ancientpower
took a chunk off froslass then died scizor finishing it off with bullet punch
got a bit cocky and decided to use vespiquen vs abomasnow unfortunately it lived an Attack Order and OHKOd with avalanche (Ice type Revenge/Payback) so scizor finished it off,
lastly was Piloswine which was a 2HKO with brick break.
saw barry get his butt whooped went back to veilstone for galactic HQ
sidetracked a bit to get shadow ball for beautifly and psychic for dustox beautifly also learned giga drain.
Both got to 41 in the galactic HQ learning Bug Buzz (finally)
VS Cyrus 2
God, Damn, Honchkrow (i'm dreading the distortion world)
sneasel was fine for scizor a clean bullet punch OHKO
then the honchkrow, ughhhhhhhh this thing has 130 base ATK with drill peck
it was 2HKOing scizor thankfully (only poke that could take a hit) so x scissor took about a third then another one took him to his sitrus berry (revived and healed) then died again and revived/healed and a third x scissor took him to red where he full restored, more revivgn and healing later its back down to yellow i can take a drill peck then hit it with x scissor and finish with bullet punch scizor last poke, he crits me.
Attempt 2
Sneasel was a repeat performance
this time i was a bit craftier, x scissor took just under half then scizor died and yanmega came in, it was faster and took it to red with ancientpower but then sitrus berry boosted it back up to yellow, revived/healed scizor and X scissor finished it off finally.
crobat woulve been a 3HKO with bullet punch but he still had that full restore, it went down eventually.

VS Saturn 2
Vespiquen > Golbat
Vespiquen> Bronzor
Dustox> Toxicroak

nuff said

currently heading to mt coronet and up to the summit (not looking forward to cyrus rematch)

Ultimate Randomized Monotype Challenge Fire (SoulSilver)

Update #4

Spoiler:
- after beating Chuck I went back to Olivine to beat Jasmine, just to witness her GODDAMN Level 35 Mantine!! o.O Of course it crushed my team immidiately..
- so I went on to train my team, my Magby reached Level 30 and evolved into Magmar
- because I hate grinding I went on to Mahogany Town and the Lake of Rage where I encoutered the Red Gyarados, which turned out to be a Shiney Chingling :D (I never got a shiny in 15 years of Pokemon besides the Gyarados, but as this is just as generated as the Gyarados and no Fire-PKMN, I killed it :0 )
- I crushed Team Rocket in Mahagony Town, along the way my Quilava evolved into Typhlosion
- defeated Pryce and walked back to Olivine to finally beat Jasmine (which still was pretty hard!)
- kicked Team Rocket out of the Radio Tower and evolved my Slugma
- went through the Ice Cave and reached Blackthorn City

My team before the eigth gym:

I've got a question. Since there's no dragon types in X and Y before the 1st gym, is it alright if I just use my starter until I catch a dragon type and then once I've caught the dragon type can I just release my starter? :o

That is correct. You can also use your starter briefly afterward for the sake of getting low leveled Dragon-types up to a level where they can adequately fight.

Alright, thanks. So I'd be able to keep the starter long enough to train the dragon type a little bit? That actually helps alot! :)

I believe it's okay to post a question here. I've already completed a monotype challenge in the past (Fire Red, Mono-Bug) but I was curious if I wanted to submit it towards the ultimate monotype challenge, would it still count? Would all I have to do is move onto one of the Johto games?

Also, what if I wanted to use another type, would anyone mind giving me suggestions on what type they enjoyed using the most. Mind you, I'm going to go for the ultimate monotype challenge either way, but, I'm just curious to what would be a fun type to use. I was thinking Normal, but it seems like a lot of people are already attempting that as is. I don't know, I hope this isn't out of line due to the nature of this post, but I just want to ask for opinions/get answers.

Y Poison Monotype - Challenge complete

I'm not gonna bother posting overviews of all the big battles and such, so here was my final team and such after beating Diantha:
Spoiler:
Player name: Ivy (female)
Time: 29:21

Gengar (M) "Spookshire", Level 62
Nature: Docile
Obtained at: Route 14
Moves: Confuse Ray, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt
Named after Marriland's classic Gengar used from his DP Wi-Fi battles way back, I think I have to give the MVP to him. Very fast and had good oomph to his attacks.

Drapion (F) "Arachnida", Level 62
Nature: Gentle
Obtained at: Route 14
Ability: Battle Armor
Moves: Crunch, Earthquake, Poison Jab, Swords Dance
A bulky addition to the team, her attacks weren't exactly the strongest under the roof but she got the job done well.

Dragalge (F) "Radish", Level 61 (no image)
Nature: Sassy
Obtained at: Ambrette Town
Ability: Poison Point
Moves: Dragon Pulse, Focus Blast, Sludge Bomb, Thunderbolt
Easily the least valuable member of the team. She didn't really get too much action, and the only Elite Four member she got any screen time against was Drasna.

Nidoking (M) "Percy", Level 62
Nature: Docile
Obtained at: Route 11
Ability: Poison Point
Moves: Earth Power, Earthquake, Flamethrower, Poison Jab
Very diverse, with his wide array of moves I was able to adjust them for whatever battle I had coming up to use him against.

Toxicroak (M) "Dartboard", Level 61
Nature: Lax
Obtained at: Route 7
Ability: Dry Skin
Moves: Brick Break, Dark Pulse, Poison Jab, Power-Up Punch
Another very helpful member. That Fighting-type was pretty useful on more than one occasion. And since I had never used a Toxicroak seriously before this, he was pretty fun to use.

(M) "Hopper", Level 61
Nature: Serious
Obtained at: Route 6
Ability: Poison Point
Moves: Earthquake, Megahorn, Poison Jab, Swords Dance
I'll give the MVP to him also. Scolipede is in my top 20 favorite Pokémon, and he had some powerful attacks to use, especially with Swords Dance under the belt. Most of the Gym Leaders didn't stand a chance.

And Pokémon in storage:
Spoiler:
Beedrill (M) "Buzzer", Level 23

Budew (F) "Aromasse", Level 17

Venusaur (M) "Flax", Level 41

Swalot (F) "Jello", Level 30

Crobat (F) "Boggart", Level 60

Tentacool (M) "Squid", Level 25

Trubbish (M) "Basket", Level 35

Foonguss (M) "1-Up", Level 34

Oddish (F) "Mikaela", Level 34

Victreebel (M) "Flytrap", Level 52

That's one down, so I think I can say I enjoyed playing through it all things considered.

It was on my X game.

Alright, it's about time for me to update. This one's on Pokemon Yellow, using only Electric types.

Update #1

Badges: 3

My progress:
Spoiler:

-Started game, got Pikachu, named it Zapper, etc.
-Nothing majorly important happened until I caught Magnemite on Route 10, named Magneto.
-Received an Eevee in Celadon City, which I evolved into a Jolteon, named Volta.
-Saved in Celadon City.

Team:
Spoiler:

Magneto the Magnemite Lv. 29

Moves:
Tackle
Sonicboom
Thundershock
Supersonic

Zapper the Pikachu Lv. 42

Moves:
Thunderbolt
Mega Kick
Agility
Thunder

Volta the Jolteon Lv. 28

Moves:
Tail Whip
Sand-Attack
Growl
Double-Edge

That's it for now. I would have updated sooner, but certain academic situations have kept me from doing so. Also, I've been trying to put some time into my X run of the Mega Evolution Challenge, so that's gotten in the way too. But, now I'll be able to work on it more efficiently. See you guys later!

I'm up to the champion...

GOD it's hard

edit: I did it...

here's the proof

-after I beat the last gym, I started to surf. yay...
-well, then I entered victory road
-neither gave me much trouble other than a stray torterra from a trainer (ugg)
-I made it to the elite four! yay
-I failed miserably
-I grinded
-failed again
-I tried to get a lucky egg to make grinding easier
-I got a lv 20 luxio (trained lv 3 shinx) and used a repel to find a chansey easier
-I gave up, bought 8 hyper potions and 8 revives, and started the elite four
-The bug guy wasn't that hard
-I blew half my stuff on the ground guy
-I beat the fire guy
-I crunched the psychic guy
-I saved right before the champion
-I restarted multiple times. GOD, is that garchomp hard. why is it dragon/ground anyway?
-before the battle, I rare candied static and spark to revive them, hyper potioned shock, and taught it attract.
-I used zapper to discharge spiritomb...Cynthia used a full restore so spiritomb KO'd zapper...I sent out static because I thought it could take a hit or do just a little damage...she switched to garchomp early...garchomp KO'd static...I sent out spark to take a hit...I attempted to heal shock a bit...garchomp missed twice so I got multiple chances...spark got KO'd and I sent shock...I used attract...I got lucky and KO'd garchomp...with low health and an elixer I barely KO'd gastrodon...lucario waisted all my haper/max potions...milotic was annoying but easy...I used attract on roserade...I got lucky that it got immobilized by love enough to KO it
