Aaaaand the water monotype again.
- Azurill evolved into Azumarill (it evolves so soon!)
- Burgh kept wiping the floor with me thanks to his Leavanny so of course, I had to go grind. Defeated him after I got a lucky critical hit and OHKO'd it.
- Defeated all the trainers I could reach before defeating Elesa
- Defeated Elesa with just Azumarill (that's what happens when you keep using Volt Switch, hah)

Current team:
Azumarill Lv. 37
BubbleBeam|Strength|Aqua Tail|Water Sport

Samurott Lv. 36
Razor Shell|Return|Aqua Jet|Revenge
Terriermon and Lopmon

Ultimate Fighting Monotype Challenge HeartGold Update #3

-Clair turned out to be not that bad. Ringo probably was the MVP of the fight, swaggering at least a few of her mons to death
-Now that we could use Waterfall, we immediately headed to Mt. Mortar to grab Eddard the Tyrogue from That Dude. Stuffed his face with Irons and slapped the Exp Share on him.
-He evolved into a Hitmonchan on the way to Victory Road
-Got through Victory Road with no issue. Taught Eddard Earthquake.
-Whilst training for the E4, the miraculous man otherwise known as Fisherman Tully gave me a call. I went and got a Water Stone from him and finally got to evolve Asha into a Poliwrath. Taught her Focus Blast.
-Then to the Elite Four!

-After a few failed attempts at Will, I realized I could teach Ringo Shadow Claw, which made things go quite a bit smoother. Ringo and Eddard were the MVPs
-Koga was nothing too difficult, Ringo came quite in handy with Aerial Ace
-Bruno was simple, everyone got to see some action
-Karen was predictably easy, no one even died
-Lance was nothing special, even though the main strategy ended up being “everyone else is a life support system for Eddard”
-Eddard was definitely the saving grace of the whole ordeal, with Ringo coming in particular usefulness as well

I didn't take any pics of Expert Emerald, but I will take pics of my team and show them on my next update.

Here are some FR Omega pics. Fearow was my HM Slave for Fly, I caught him fairly late in the game.

Time for an update:

Ultimate Flying-Mono Challenge: Heart Gold

- Traveled to the Ruins of Alph and caught a male Natu named "Kwatoko"

- Trained a bit and evolved Kwatoko into "Xatu"

- Headed back to Cianwood and easily beat Chuck for the
Storm Badge

- Proceeded to Olivine Gym and managed to earn the
Mineral Badge

- Surfed to Mahogany and kicked Team Rocket out of their Hideout

- Entered Pryce's Gym and had a surprisingly easy time winning the
Glacier Badge

- Went back to Goldenrod and did the ever so boring Rocket Radio Romp

- Headed through Ice Cave and emerged in Blackthorn

- Entered Clair's Gym and had one Hell of a time getting the
Rising Badge

- Went to the Dragon's Den and grabbed the Extremespeed Dratini and called him "Steve" (ran out of nickname ideas...)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, just need to beat the Kimono Girls then I can get going to the Indigo Plateau.

Ok, so first update!

Spoiler:

Started off by picking up my new Totodile from professor Elm. I completed all my beginning stuff and defeated ???, and proceeding to name him Gold. I guess I didn't think about how long it would be before I found another water pokemon, but I started off my journey with my trustworthy Totodile. We made it through Sprout Tower and took down Falkner easily

Shortly after, he evolved into a Croconaw and we continued on our way. After looking for a Wooper for about 1 hour, I finally concluded that I must be looking at the wrong time of day and decided to come back later. So I went on and defeated Team Rocket before also challenging Bugsy. Once again, it was no match for Totodile.

After the battle, I went back and caught a Paras to be my short lived Cut slave. Croconaw and I continued along our way to see Whitney, who went down surprisingly easily. (Forgot to take the picture of the battle)

With an easy way to get back to the beginning, I went back and caught my next pokemon. Croconaw also evolved into a Feraligatr along the way.

Leveled up Wooper until it evolved into a Quagsire, and then just a bit more for good measure. Taught both pokemon to surf and went to take on Morty.

I tried to get Quagsire involved against Gengar, but it proved to not be very effective so Feraligatr had to come in in the end. After, I picked up a Poliwag, Tentacool, Chinchou to round out my team. The last member is yet to be determined.

Current Team:

Ice Punch
Doubleslap

:t160: Level 36

By the way, would I be allowed to hack in a Water Stone for Poliwhirl at some point?

GrandePapi ♂ lv. 60

[ Thrash, Faint Attack, Focus Punch, Attract ]

We grinded more for post game stuff, only to find that Blitzen wasn't really up to par anymore. Once we snagged Ursaring, we purified him and replaced Blitzen. He was named GrandePapi and it didn't take too long for him to catch up to the rest of the team. Deep Colosseum took a while, but we got through it a lot easier than I remembered it being. After that, we got LOTS of emails about an impostor dressed as our hero and attacking people with a Shadow Togetic. We had a final showdown with Shady Guy Seth (or Feign really) at the place our journey started, the Outskirt Stand. And with the last Snag Ball thrown and successful, it's time to retire our gear. We saved the Pokemon, and did it with Normal types. Challenge complete!

I'm just curious, but why is a Raticate on your team? It isn't a Poison type so I was just wondering if it was a planned HM Slave or something, none of my business though.

It is my business though. Why is there a Raticate listed on your team? That's not a Pokemon of your type. And if it were an HM slave I would expect Rattata, not Raticate.

By the way, would I be allowed to hack in a Water Stone for Poliwhirl at some point?
No. There are ways to get a Water Stone in game. It's not as easy as R/B/Y, but it's doable.

Derp, neither of them are poison type. Yeah, I'll just use a rattata as an HM slave XD

First post updated through post 1314. I also added a reference of first available Pokemon for each type in every game, so there should be no confusion about what games you can and can't hack/trade Pokemon into.

I haven't updated in a while, but I am still grinding so my Electric Monotype team can beat Clay.

Team so far:
Ampharos, Lv 30
Jolteon, Lv 32
Magnemite, Lv 28
Tynamo, Lv 36
Joltik, Lv 34

HM Slave:
Tranquill

EDIT: Real update, finally beat Clay!

Team:
Galvantula, Lv 36
Ampharos, Lv 33
Magnemite, Lv 28
Tynamo, Lv 36
Jolteon, Lv 32

HM Slave:
Tranquill

That was so difficult omg. I had his Excadrill down in the red then he used his hyper potion. I had to spam flash with Jolteon (and keep reviving him) to get him to -6 accuracy for the misses to start coming in.

Ultimate Steel Monotype: White 2

I have vanquished Burgh and his nasty Leavanny! I also added one more member to my team, a female Drilbur that I have named Yoko, after the Gurren Lagann character. Burgh wasn't too difficult, just a little annoying. Oh, Roland evolved into a Lucario and Steven evolved into a Metang. I put Leftovers on Steven, which is pretty evil...

Finished the Johto leg of my journey, time for a quick update:

Ultimate Flying-Mono Challenge: Heart Gold

- Went to Ecruteak and beat the Kimono Girls, then went to Bell Tower and beat Ho-Oh

- Made the long trek to the Indigo Plateau and beat Falcone in Victory Road

- Level grinded for a bit then challenged the Elite Four

- Destroyed Will with Scyther

- Beat Koga with little effort

- Wiped the floor with Bruno thanks, once again, to Scyther

- Beat Karen with, you guessed it, Scyther

- Had a close fight with Lance but managed to pull through thanks to my Garydos and his Ice Fang

- Entered into the Hall of Fame

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wow, I knew Scyther was good, but holy crap is he ever awesome! I don't think I'll ever use a Scizor again!

Second Update!
Spoiler:

Leveled up all my pokemon to be around the same before making my way across the water to visit chuck. His Poliwrath proved to not be much of an issue as my new Lanturn easily took it down.

Next up was Jasmine, who I figured would be an easy victory using with all of my pokemon having an advantage over Steelix. The magnemite were not too difficult to defeat either

After my victory, I figured I should add a 6th member to the team. So I surfed and picked up a new Magikarp

And that finally rounded out my team. Got Magikarp to evolve and leveled up to around the same as the rest of my team. They easily defeated the Red Gyarados and Team Rocket, and then it was time to face Pryce.

Feraligatr surfed away his Piloswine and then it was on to face Team Rocket once more. They proved an easy challenge once again, and I made my way to face Clair.

The goal of this one was pretty much to Ice Punch my way through as much as I could. I left out Feraligatr for the case in which all plans failed. Fortunately, Tentacruel was very useful in this battle and was able to take out her Kingdra in the end.

Next up was the elite 4.
But first, while grinding, I found this!!!!!
Sorry, thats just the second one I've ever seen in my entire life.

But anyway, first up was Will.

Lanturn basically soloed this one, Sparking the whole way through. Following him was Koga.

More or less the same as the first one, but with Quagsire's Earthquake. Lanturn then took out his Crobat.

I actually almost fell to Bruno's Machamp, but Gyarados was able to come in and finish everything else.

I usually have the most trouble with Karen, but Tentacruel was really awesome in this one. Lanturn was brought in to finish it off. And then finally, Lance

Like against Clair, I tried to Ice Punch everything I could leaving Feraligatr for last. But Poliwhirl ended up doing a great job and I was crowned champion!

That's all I've got for now, next up is Kanto!

Question will Anorith/Armaldo be counted as a bug type seeing as it is their secondary typing?
Yes, they do count. Primary and Secondary typing are both taken into consideration when allowing a Pokemon into a Monotype.
