I've made some changes around my normal team. I hope that it's good and can actually put a few wins in my record. *remembers the G/S/C days of NetBattle where she had over 100 losses* Ugh...

Oh, and I keep forgetting to mention this, but PLEASE no Substitute or any Sub-related moves. I see it as pretty cheap since I always have a lot of trouble against it. Also, I'm not too comfy with Choice Band sets either. Anything else is fine.

Persian (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Limber
EVs: 129 HP / 129 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Hypnosis
- Return
- Shadow Ball
Fake Out, Hypnosis, and then attack in that order.

Delcatty (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 129 Def / 129 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Heal Bell
- Return
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
My healer. Thunder Wave to paralyze, and Return to attack.

Raichu (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Static
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Brick Break
- Sweet Kiss/Swagger
- Thunderbolt
- Wish/Thunder Wave
I'm thinking about a Thunder Wave/Swagger combo to cause extra damage have my old set of Sweet Kiss after Static kicks in or Thunderbolt paralyzes and have Wish for healing.

Shuckle (M) @ BrightPowder
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 129 HP / 129 Atk / 252 Def
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Rock Slide/Rock Tomb
- Safeguard
- Sandstorm
- Toxic
I've heard that Sandstorm and Toxic make a nice combo. Rock Slide or Rock Tomb in case I need to attack. I'm thinking about going with Rock Tomb, though.

Grumpig (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 6 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Confuse Ray
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Psychic
I've been using this Grumpig set, and it works for me.

Gorebyss (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 6 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Amnesia
- Barrier
- Baton Pass
- Surf
Baton Pass Defenses since I'm short on them.

Any help will be appreciated. :classic:

You never want anything to do with sub, a lot of pokes become better with sub, like your Raichu, if it's working against you, cheap or not it's a good thing to use, it's at your disposal as well, as yours, so put your reasorces to good use.

I vaguely recall a time that Substitute was banned at one point. No offense, but I prefer to stay away from certain moves that had a banning history.
However, since it was so popular, I tried Sub at one point. After that, I never used it again. Even on my side it works against me.

Well, there are famous sub combos, like the all to well know subpuch, and the sub Reversal/Flail combos.:D

*sighs*
Can someone give me a rate instead of all of this Sub praise?

Persian (M) @ Liechi/Salac (prefer Liechi)
Trait: Limber
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Hypnosis
- Double-Edge
- Shadow Ball
Fake Out, Hypnosis, and then attack in that order.
Persian needs Double-Edge in order to deal damage, return is just to weak, he also doesn't need massive HP EV's, so 252 atk, 252 spd and 6 hp will work much better.
For the same reason, leftovers is unnecessary, as Persian can't take a hit anyway.

Delcatty (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Cute Charm
EVs: 252 HP / 129 Def / 129 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Heal Bell
- Return
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
My healer. Thunder Wave to paralyze, and Return to attack.

Raichu (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Static
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 128 SAtk / 128 Atk
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Focus Punch
- Sweet Kiss
- Thunderbolt
- Thunder Wave
I'm thinking about a Thunder Wave/Swagger combo to cause extra damage have my old set of Sweet Kiss after Static kicks in or Thunderbolt paralyzes and have Wish for healing.
Well, I just thought up this then, the idea is to Paralyze, Sweet Kiss, then start Focus Punching what you can, they only have a 37.5% chance of retaliation, so it should be semi-safe to pull off.

Shuckle (M) @ BrightPowder
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 129 SDef / 129 Def
Brave Nature (+Atk, -Spd)
- Encore
- Bide
- Rest
- Toxic
I've heard that Sandstorm and Toxic make a nice combo. Rock Slide or Rock Tomb in case I need to attack. I'm thinking about going with Rock Tomb, though.
Really, Shuckle shouldn't run attacks off such a low attack stat, with this set, at least he can waste the opponents PP, and let them die to Toxic/Bide eventually.

Grumpig (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 129 SAtk / 129 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Confuse Ray/Substitute
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Psychic
I've been using this Grumpig set, and it works for me.
If you choose to go with Sub over Confuse Ray, Subpiggy can actually be quite annoying, HP Fire is there to cover the Steel types that will mess a Psychic attacker up.

Gorebyss (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Spd / 6 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Amnesia
- Agility
- Baton Pass
- Surf
Baton Pass Defenses since I'm short on them.
Agility over Barrier as the extra speed could really help your team out, maybe even help sweep a team..

doing this took me like 10 minutes, gee.

Any help will be appreciated. :classic:

Substitute has never been banned by official rules.

if sub is working against you yet everyone is giving praise to the move being useful, then the problem probably lies in how you used sub rather than the problem being the attack itself...

I think I've seen it banned from a NetBattle tourney, and NB users would refuse to battle you if you use Sub like in the G/S/C days.

Well you can always ignore silly clauses the users make up, hell, people even clause switching. If it isn't on the official rules, just ignore it. Substitute being banned is ridiculous. If it was banned from a tourney, the person running it must have had no clue what he or she was doing.

A switching clause?! It's a good thing I don't switch much.

He/she might hate Sub as much as I do. Is it possible to give rate without mentioning Sub?

It is possible to give a rate without it, but the pokes that use it make them better, and that is why it is so widely used.

As Frosty said, it is likely you had a problem using it, because everyone else uses it, and likes it.
