When you're doing (or used to do) work for school or university, do you tend to put a lot of effort into the content of the work therefore making it more likely to get a good mark but also time-consuming, or do you prefer to just the task quickly but without much care for how you could improve it to get the best possible grade?

I put as much as I can into practice when working on regular assignments. I wish I could say that I put 100% effort into them, but lately, I really do not. However, projects are another thing. Since they are worth x% of my overall grade (along with tests) I spend as much time on them to make sure they are done correctly and have little to no flaws, since most of my teachers are rather particular anyway, as most high school teachers should be. n_n

I used to put a ton of effort into my schoolwork. I was a perfectionist, and my marks always reflected that.

I feel quite confident saying this without feeling like I'm bragging because quite clearly I peaked in high school and have been on a downward spiral since :P

In high school I didn't put much effort into anything. When I got to college (a small miracle given my record in HS) I put a lot more effort into my work, but not all of my work. When I realized that some aspects of my education did not matter as much as others I prioritized and let myself coast in some classes with just average effort.

I bombed high school until I started homeschooling myself, then my grades improved.

I'm in my second year of college, and my grades have progressively gotten worse. Left my first semester with like 3.75, and now I think I'm around a 3.2. After this semester though that's definitely going to tank, lol.

I'm considering taking a year off between my associate's and bachelor's degree because... who wants to be in school for fourteen years straight lol q_q

But during that year I might retake one or two classes with less than perfect grades to improve my GPA for when I transfer to uni.

When I was in high school, I didn't really paid much attention to school work, sometimes I turned it in incomplete, or in a few rare occasion never turned it in. Graduated with the lowest possible scores. Now that I'm much older and a bit wiser I wish I had paid more attention to school work.

When I feel like it I'd put a lot of effort in to my work, but when I'm too lazy to do it, I'll just go do what looks nice and pass it.

Make sense? Oh, what fun is there in making sense?

I only make an effort when it comes to the things that I like, or when I really need to do it. For schoolwork back in my high school years, well, the only subject that I took seriously was Math, and for the others, well... little to no effort at all. Right now in college, nothing much has changed, but I'm willing to put more hard work... I just wish that I'm not so, so lazy.

A bit of both.

When I was in high school, my primary focus was to wing as many things as possible--trying didn't really even occur to me until college--which is why I take my academics so seriously, especially after I graduated. I had this mindset that I could generally BS anything and get a good mark on it so long as it didn't look like BS(and to be honest, that has happened quite a few times), but honestly, I realized that sometimes, the more effort you put into something, you usually get a better grade on it, and you feel proud of yourself that you dedicated that time and effort to earn that grade.

In heart, I would want to to the task quickly, but rushed work is not always the best work, so I make sure that the quality of the work is best before submitting any of my work to my instructor.

I hate to say that I didn't put a lot of effort into my work when I was in school, but it was the truth. That being said, a lot of my classmates did the same thing, so I made sure to take it a step or two above the minimum amount of effort, and I would usually end up with good grades (I managed to maintain honour roll status from 6th grade until I graduated high school, so while I should have put more effort in, this system seemed to pay off in the end). When I finally decide to go back to school and take university-level courses, I know I'll have to put in a lot more work to get the same type of marks, which I'm not all that excited for.

I always put all of my effort into my work. :/ I generally dislike when other peoples' slack affects me, so I make sure I wouldn't be doing the same to someone else.
It is a personal goal of mine to continue to better myself.

High School: Yes, I put a lot of effort into my work because I was after good grades.

College: I found out that even putting huge amounts of effort into stuff would only net mediocre grades anyway, so I started slacking off. After I joined Facebook, any traces of going above and beyond as it related to schoolwork fell completely by the wayside. So by the time I joined PC, I was perfectly content with putting in enough effort to do decent, while enjoying more of a social and online presence.

tl;dr: I did, but then I got lazy.

I'm a perfectionist by nature so all my work needs to be perfect. (My definition of perfect anyway). If one thing is out of place, I need to fix it. I always try my best to hand in the best quality of work possible.
