Took me awhile to decide which era I wanted but this one seems interesting.

Username: ScubaDouch3

Industrial Revolution

Also, here's my team just to make sure I didn't mess up with the rules:

Dugtrio --- Hitmonlee --- Nidoqueen --- Vaporeon --- Arcanine --- Aerodactyl

On a side note, I'm probably going to do this challenge in Ultimate format and go through all six generations, so will this one sign up do or will I need to sign up again for each generation?

I have a lot of updating to do . I was away at a convention and wasn't able to play a lot.

After a lot of training my team and I finally made it to the Elite Four
Before the Elite Four I caught a Venonat and trained it till it evolved into Venomoth.
While I was training on Route 27 I was training against wild Ponyta, and Sandslash. I ran into a Shiny Ponyta !
After training my team till they were lv. 56 we headed to battle the Elite Four.
My team, and I beat all four Elite Four members .

Against Will I used mostly my Magneton and Typhlosion
Koga I used - Venomoth, Typlosion, and Espeon
Bruno - Mostly my Tentecruel , and Espeon
Karen - Venomoth , Tentecruel , Magneton

After defeating Karen I went straight after Lance. I swept him with only my Magneton, and Tentecruel who I had given Ice Beam.

Once I had beaten Lance I was taken back to be entered into the Pokemon Hall of Fame :)
When the end credits rolled and my game saved I started it up again. My mom said Professor Elm needed to talk to me and gave me my ticket to go over to Kanto !
Before getting on the boat I got my Pokedex upgraded to National.
After boarding SS. Aqua I played I had to go look for a lost little girl for her grandfather. I also had to locate a sailor who was missing from is position. I found him sleeping on the job.
After finding the little girl twice we went back to her grandfather who gave me a metal coat.
Once we arrived in Vermilion City I had to go get my Bellsprout that knew cut and cut the tree down to enter the gym there.

After entering the Vermilion City gym I battled the trainers and figured out the trash can puzzle. Once I figured it out I battled Lt. Surge and swept his team with my Nidoking's Earthquake. After defeating Lt. Surge I recieved the Thunder Badge.

Once I healed my Pokemon at the Pokemon Center we headed off to Saffron City. When I entered the city I headed straight for the gym. I struggled a bit against Sabrina, and probably should have done a little training, but I managed to beat Sabrina, and got the Marsh Badge. After receiving the badge I headed out of the gym and off to Celdon City.
Instead of going straight to the gym I went to the Department store and stocked up on healing items.

When I went into the gym I defeated the trainers and made my way towards Erika. My most used Pokemon in this fight was Typloshion , Venomoth, Tentecruel and Espeon. Once I defeated Erika I received the Rainbow Badge and headed off to Fuchsia City. After reaching this point in the game I saved and let it rest for the past few days. Ill be picking it back up in a few days and my Platinum game as well .

Just 1 sign up is enough as long as you mentioned you're planning an ultimate ^^

Oh and just so you guys know, I AM reading through all of your updates and enjoy doing so, even though I don't post as much.

THIS JUST IN I HATE THE LEAGUE GOOD DAY

Spoiler:
SYDNEY WAS SOMEWHAT EASY, PHOEBE WAS HARDER BC NO TYPE ADVANTAGE MOVES, GLACIA WAS A PAIN WHEN LAL FAINTED BUT OTHERWISE OK, I HATE DRAKE, STEVEN IS A CHEATER AND I DONT LIKE HIM ANYMKRE

Spoiler: Team Thoughts

Yamamoto the Docile Swampert
Male, Level 51, Torrent @Mystic Water
Rock Smash/Mud Shot/Surf/Waterfall

Ok, wouldve done better in Gen 6 with a mega but he did his part. Forgot to get rid of Rock Smash for a better move later so he lost Protect. Tanky and could usually hit well.

Lal the Timid Hariyama
Female, Level 54, Thick Fat @Kings Rock
Fake Out/Belly Drum/Vital Throw/Arm Thrust

MVP of the game and practically soloed the League kinda. Only had problems with Type advantages but otherwise well rounded against anything but Ghosts. Hit the Cradily to flinch it out three times(twice in a row) to win finally. Even better with Belly Drum. Wanted a Leftovers for her but thats only postgame appearantly which is kinda dumb?

Kyoko the Jolly Camerupt
Female, Level 50, Magma Armor @Soft Sand
Focus Energy/Rock Slide/Eruption/Earthquake

Was not very good late game. Ok at first with Magnitude then Earthquake but couldnt take any hits ever, being so slow this led to her often fainting to heal someone else in important battles. Eruption wasnt very good either but oh well.

Bel the Calm Sandslash
Male, Level 50, Sand Veil
Earthquake/Return/Sand Attack/Strength

Wasnt as good as Id hoped but was still great and ok in most situations. Able to use Sand Attack to help the others often too.

Lambo the Hasty Magneton
-/male, Level 50, Sturdy @Lax Incense
Spark/Thunderbolt/Tri Attack/Thunder Wave

Very strong for most of the time but couldnt take too many hits, eapecially anythinv super effective. Great against Kyogre and Archie tho.

Mukuro the Jolly Skarmory
Male, Level 50, Sturdy
Fly/Steel Wing/Swift/Spikes

Great and a hard hitter at first and could take lots of hits. Eventually couldnt hit everything as hard but I was impressed and he won 2nd best. Hurt the League a lot with stacked Spikes.

Welp its come to an end, Im gunna have to sign up for another one later.

Just a quick update, I finished my playthrough of FireRed with the Industrial Revolution rules:

Spoiler:

Guess I'll move onto Gen 2, would it be alright if I played it on Moon Silver?
I would prefer Ultimates to be done on main series games and not hacks, but I am willing to agree with hacks that don't change the story or gameplay. The way I look at it, Moon Silver deviates from the Gen 2 spirit by adding fairy types ahead their time.

Log 1
Spoiler:
I picked Squirtle as my starter. Kicked my Rival's ass and proceeded onto my adventure.
Retrieved Oak's Parcel, then trained Squirtle to level 14.
Returned Oak's parcel then battled my Rival again, after which I returned to Oak and obtained 5 Pokeballs.
Went through the Viridian Forest, collecting all the items and battling all the trainers.
Reached Pewter City and breezed through Brock's Gym.
Squirtle evolved into Wartortle.
Saved and took a short break.

Good point, and I don't mean to play 20 questions with you but what about Complex Crystal? It's mostly just a difficulty rise so it shouldn't be a problem, I've played Gen 2 so much that I like a little change now and then :p

Era: Mobster Mania

I will be naming my mons after mobsters, Italian names, and Baccano! characters.

The Time Warp Challenge
chapter one: in the speak easies
heartgold - mobster mania
badges: 3

Started off naming my character Miria, based off of the character from Baccano! She's off to have some fun with some mobsters and build a following! She started off with Totodile, and proceeded to buy every item in the store. She delivered an egg to Professor Elm, learned how to catch Pokemon, and finally caught one. She quickly boxed the Totodile started leveling up the Spinorak for the first gym. After leveling up the Spinorak, Miria caught her first official party member: Arlyne the Bellsprout!

Female - Bold - Hates to lose.

Shortly after that, Miria caught her second main team member: Mack Truck the Gastly!

Female - Sassy - Likes to thrash about.

Thank goodness for Mack Truck during all three gyms. Curse is a blessing in disguise.

After being Falkner, Miria traveled south, through a cave, and went to the Slowpoke Well, there, she caught two more members for her party: Fat Pete the Slowpoke and JoeBatters the Zubat!

Male - Gentle - Often dozes off.

Male - Naughty - Often dozes off.

Busgy was a bit of a challenge at first, since Scyther was fastly than Mack Truck. Luckily, it all worked out in the end! And she also became broke as Hell because of the buying everything rule...

Miria made it through the Ilex Forest and made it to Goldrenrod City! There, she went broke... again. This time, she decided to buy a TM for a future party member. Shortly after, she caught her last two party members for the time being: Bonnie the Nidoran and Dillinger the Scyther!

Quirky - Proud of it's power

Male - Sassy - Likes to thrash about.

It didn't take long for Bonnie to evolve, though!

And Milktank was actually a lot easier this time around. Thank the Gods.

(As a personal note, I know some people find Slowpoke cute, but I personally don't since it catches a shell that acts as a parasite on it. That's disgusting. It and Bellsprout are most likely going to be switched out for Houndour and a dragon.)

chapter two: the turf war ends
heartgold - mobster mania
badges: 16

The rest of the game was very smooth sailing once Mack Truck evolved into Gengar. Arlyne ended up becoming a dedicated HM slave since she couldn't carry in any battles. So she ended up getting ditched for a Dratini... that I spent way too much time gambling for. Dratini is named Capone!

Kanto was really easy as well. Red ended up being a bit more challenging than I thought he would be... but I managed to beat him! Final team:

So I have a question regarding the time era shifting in the Time Rift section in the challenge rule. After Badge 8 do you get to pick a new era or not?
After the 8th Badge, you can use your time rift team for the E4 and champion so you don't have to choose a new era. If you're playing Johto, you will have to pick eras in between the Kanto Gyms too. Time Rift is tricky because you need to have a base team following the time rift type rules and all but also accommodate pokemon fitting to the eras you switch to for each gym.

I hope this answers your question ^-^

That does answer my question, but I remembered a few more I wanted to ask. If one of the eras types is one of the banned types for the Time Rift, is it still banned? Also it is just one rule if the era has multiple rules? If I do this challenge, I'm probably going to put this up on YouTube so I want to make sure that I understand everything enough so I don't look silly.

Ok, since I've played part of Time Rift, I shall explain the process:
1. Start game following the Time Rift Era Types.
2. Proceed to the first Gym battle. You CAN use your starter but you also have to have at least one of the era types with you (for example, in Crystal, you would have to catch any Normal Type that you can find pre- Violet City. )
3. After you win your first badge, pick one other Era of your choice. Select one of the "era rules" specific to said Era and one type EVEN one that is normally banned in Time Rift. Catch a Pokemon of your chosen type and make sure it plays a part in your upcoming Gym Battle.
4. Don't forget your specific Time Rift types. They make your main team i.e. Elite Four/Champion/Red team.
5. After you obtained your 2nd badge, box the Pokemon you used for your first "rift" and select a different Era from the list then follow the same steps as point 3. This goes on until you've obtained all 8 Badges.
6. After you obtained your 8th badge, box the "rift" pokemon and take up Victory Road with you regular Time Rift team (DON'T FORGET the Mandatory pokemon!) and then take on the Elite 4 and Champion.
7. (applies to Johto only) After you've defeated the Champion, pick an Era again and repeat step 3. You are allowed to repeat Eras in Johto since there's 16 Gyms.
8. You are allowed to pick the same types where you have Eras that share types and reuse any of your "rift" pokemon should you not want to level up a new pokemon every time. Feel free to use the Exp. Share if your game has one. It helps ;)

As for your other question:
Even if the Era you've chosen has more rules (most Eras do), for Time Rift, you have to only pick ONE.

What helped me when I was doing my Time Rift (before I lost my save) was write up a spreadsheet of sorts before I started playing. I checked pokemon available for capture in between each Gym to make sure I could pick a type that would not lock me out of the challenge and made sure to pick a rule that would not obstruct my gameplay too much. I was playing a Johto game so I sorta needed the sheet.

I really hope this helps more than my previous answer :D

To be fair, Time Rift IS complicated, maybe that's why people shy away from it :P But I plan on doing another run soon ;)

Before I sign up, I have a question about Sun and Moon in regards to the Time Rift rules. I'm putting my question in a spoiler just in case.

Spoiler:
Would each Trial be counted as a "badge", or would each Kahuna be considered as such? Or would both count? If both count, then there would be more than 8 possible rifts, FYI.
So, you found my signature. Who cares? I don't care! Why would I--

Edit: I got some info so now I can work Time Rift for Sun & Moon.

Each trial represents a "badge" and each Kahuna should be battled using your main Time Rift team only.

If you'd like to play with me, you better be sure you know the game.

OK that helps quite a bit. Thank you.

Make sure to remove your starter after the 1st gym.
