Was wondering if Crunch also counts as Bite, since it's the same, just stronger. My Seviper now has both Crunch and Bite
Well, yeah, you can use Crunch instead.

If you'd like to play with me, you better be sure you know the game.

Okay, I know the rules say no hacking, but what about a hacked game like Sacred Gold? It's a 492 hack of Heart Gold, with altered Pokemon. It all balances out, and i can play it w/out modified Pokemon. It is also more difficult. Please respond, as this is the game that I would like to play for my challenge. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Actually read through the entire thing and found that you already answered my question. Sorry for redundancy!

Well, yeah, you can use Crunch instead.
Yay!~ :D

I defeated Winona without much trouble.
Then onto the whole Team Aqua / Team Magma business...
I also caught a Shuppet which evolved into Banette pretty soon.
Now I'll need to get all my pokémon to lvl 40 and above before the next gym.
It's going to be terrible with my Poison and Fighting types...
...........

Current Team:

Blaziken lvl 42
Aggron lvl 43
Seviper lvl 44
Banette lvl 45
Armaldo lvl 46

Still can't beat the Gym.
I knew it was going to be a pain in the ass, but this is pretty bad lol...
Next plan is to boost Banette to 48 and catch a Duskull...
Easily won with Banette lvl 48 (finally got Shadow Ball)

Decided to put Seviper away for now.
My team is:
Blaziken lvl 42
Aggron lvl 43
Armaldo lvl 47
Banette lvl 48

Okay, I'm back here again, and having completed my Stone Age Crystal and gotten through the mass hysteria of how much had to be done in the last week I'm contemplating an Egypt Emerald.

Quick question, because I've been wondering: What is the stance on Pickup ability pokemon in relation to the items rules?

And now you know what I do when I get bored~
(read: have far too much fun with overlay layers)

So, I started my game!

Spoiler:
  • Started with turtwig. I consider it to be repitllian, and Torterra is definitely dinosaur-ish, so it's OK for the jurassic era. Plus, Empoleon is banned because it's steel, and I didn't feel right using Chimchar in a dinosaur age. Nicknamed Turtwig Forest Gump.
  • Went through the whole pokedex song and dance.
  • Picked up a Kricetot for my first bug type and nicknamed it Noisemaker (probably going to replace with Heracross later)
  • Beat Barry again-Noisemaker died in two hits, Forest Gump pwned starly/chimchar.
  • Saved just outside Roark's gym.

Sounds fun.

Username: Rarityyy
Game: Crystal
Era: Industrial Revolution

OK, after playing for an hour, but this is what I got done so far. I typically write down the more important stuff of what I've gotten done.

Spoiler:
Took Cyndaquil as my starter.
Caught a Poliwag on Route 30 at Level 4.
Fought a couple trainers on Route 30, and Route 31.
Made it to Violet City.

My Pokemon:
Spoiler:
Cyndaquil (Cindy) / Lv. 11 / Female.
Pollywag (Clown) / Lv. 11 / Male (Where do I come up with these names?

Also by the rule of only being to evolve by trading, what exactly does that mean..?

Also by the rule of only being to evolve by trading, what exactly does that mean..?
Well, some pokémon, such as Gastly and Abra require their second evolution(Haunter and Kadabra) to be traded in order for them to evolve into Gengar and Alakazam. That's what that rule is all about. If the Pokémon you want evolves via trading, you are allowed to trade it in order to evolve it.
Otherwise, Trading isn't allowed.

If you'd like to play with me, you better be sure you know the game.

Spoiler:
Now time to move on!!
As it stands I have 7 badges and solved the whole Groudon / Kyogre problem.
Time for the 8th gym!
I'm just going to take Seviper out anyway,
since I won't be needing my Fly-slave for a while now...
The other HM-slave I use is Marill btw.
I has Rock Smash, Surf, Dive and Waterfall
Beat Juan with ease, relatively speaking without Grass and Electric types,
Wally was no match for Blaziken and I started making my way through Victory Road
That proved to be a nuisance without Flash.
Thank god I actually played this game so many times I knew how to get through more or less...

EDIT:

I tried the Elite Four. Didn't think I would win, but it was worth a shot.
Blaziken sweeped Sidney...
That part was expected.
Phoebe was a bit harder.
My Banette was slower than hers, so that made it a bit meh.
Though my SpAtt. was higher so I OHKO'd hers after she nearly killed mine
Glacia killed of all my pokémon, unfortunately,
so that was the end of the line for my first attempt...
Second and third attempt ended with the Dragon Trainer...
Flygon's Earthquake is painful, and Kingdra's Surf is also unpleasant...

I finally defeated the Elite Four, but it turned out my save file was corrupted,
so I couldn't move on past it o.O
That really sucked...
But according to the rules I cleared the game (Defeated Wallace)
And at least I had fun and that's what it's about really^^
I'll try another run for another era.
Probably on Emerald again, or maybe on Fire Red...

QUESTIONS:
In the ICE AGE Water is a type you can use but Grass is Banned.
I take it I'm not allowed to use a Ludicolo then?
Same issue with Magcargo which is Rock/Fire...
Camerupt which is Fire/Ground...
And Aggron which is Steel/Rock...
Cradily which is Rock/Grass...
And Armaldo which is Rock/Bug...

Anyway on to my next run!!
Ice Age on Emerald once again :P
Picked up Mudkip as my starter.
Caught a Wingul.
My third party member will be Tentacool.
But after that I won't be getting any new members until after the fourth gym I think so...
Dude, no. I'm over 1000 eggs in and I'm not giving up. We're...not giving up. We're way too deep in at this point and we deserve our shiny. This has been a message from your local Masuda Method Breeding support group.

Update:
Spoiler:
Caught a Level 5 Growlithe on Route 36.
Did a little grinding on Route 36, leveling up two of my Pokemon to Lv. 13.
Caught a Lv. 4 Geodude in Dark Cave.
Grinded Geodude to Lv. 11.
Beat Violet City gym.
Cyndaquil evolved into Quilava in Sprout Tower.
Beat Sprout Tower.
Caught a Whooper on Route 32.

List of Pokemon:

Spoiler:
Whooper (Whopper) / Lv. 10 / Female
Geodude (Boulder) / Lv. 12 / Male
Quilava (Cindy) / Lv. 16 / Female

Spoiler:
Easily beat Roxanne and kicked the Aqua grunt's ass.
Then kicked my Rival's ass.
Was way too easy with my Wingull.
This thing is a real beast earlygame...
So on to Dewford where I'll get my Tentacool.
Got the Tentacool and kicked Brawley's ass.
On to Slateport! Kicking Team Aqua Grunt's asses yet again...
Easily beat Wattson in Mauvile and moved on to Fallarbor and the Meteor Falls.
I did decide to pick up a Solrock. Want to give it a try.
It was actually pretty useful against Flannery,
although I did have an entire team of water pokémon at my disposal...
I did visit the desert and caught a Trapinch.
Still not entirely sure whether I want a Claydol or not.
As expected I did beat Winona with much ease.
Now of to grind some more and then it's onto more Team Aqua/Magma trouble
I beat Brendan with ease. Really he's no challenge at all...
Team Aqua and Magma were no issue at all either...
Now I can FINALLY get my Spheal <3
And after that I easily beat Liza and Tate.
Vibrava was no help at all >.>
Solved the whole Groudon/Kyogre mess,
and on to the final Gym.
Tentacruel has Giga Drain and Pelipper has Shock Wave.
Solrock has Solarbeam.
That went pretty smooth. As usual Kingdra decided to be a pain in the ass...
On to Victory Road. Wally was laughably easy as usual I suppose.
Got through without Flash. And now I'm at the League.
Terribly underleveled though...

Pelipper lvl 44
Aerial Ace
Surf
Shock Wave
Ice Beam

Swampert lvl 44
Brick Break
Strenght
Dive
Mud Shot

Walrein lvl 44
Ice Beam
Water Pulse
Rest
Body Slam

Solrock lvl 46
Rock Slide
Solarbeam
Flamethrower
Psychic

Tentacruel lvl 48
Waterfall
Ice Beam
Sludge Bomb
Giga Drain

Flygon lvl 52
Crunch
Dragon Breath
Earthquake
Fly

Spoiler:
I went in for a run knowing full well I'd die XD
Then I decided to train my pokémon to at least 50...
And gave Swampert Surf over Dive...
When it got level up it learned Earthquake,
so put that in over Mud Shot...
Unfortunately I didn't manage to get past Milotic
(Due too not enough revives/potions before I started the fight)
Now I'm going to get everyone to at least 53 :P
I got true my entire stock of revives/potions,
and all my money as well XD
So it'll be hard buying those 10 revives/full restores
Oh well of to training...

And with that I easily beat the game :D
It was a really fun run. Way more fun than my Post Apoc Run,
which had me really cringing at times...

Anyway for this run I loved Pelipper and Solrock.
They are way underappreciated pokémon...
Tentacruel was nice but I barely used it :o
Flygon basicly sucked, Walrein was limited usage,
and Swampert just filled some gaps where needed.
I think the next run I'll be doing will be on Fire Red.
And by the way my save file was corrupted again >.>
Even though earlier I continued from the main save file.
Oh whatever... :)

Here is my progress:
Part 1:
Spoiler:
Gym Badges: 1
Went through picking my starter, beating rival to death, and doing various quests until the first gym, where I won relatively easily with my only Pokemon, Timothy the Patrat, which I had to box my starter, Tepig, to where I won't use him again.

Pokemon: 1 (Nickname/Pokemon [Lvl.])
Timothy/Patrat [13]
Temporary: 0

I'm choosing the Industrial Revolution until the next badge, with Steel as my temporary type and Danger rule as my additional temporary rule.
I am probably going to get a Magnemite for the next gym...

Hmmm... Maybe I can do a second challenge with my Time Rift one...

I'll do it!

Username: DeltaWeegee (Still doesn't matter, right?)
Game: Leaf Green
Era: Post-Apocalyptic Scenario
Rules: All(?)

Is it O.K. if I don't use all of the rules of an era, but one or two if there is more than one???? Please help me! ;-;

For my run, would it be acceptable if I was to catch a Bellsprout for the sole purpose of getting an Onix, or no?
yeah you can do that o.o
I'm sorry for my apparent inactivity guys o.o
I'm still around but I'm a bit too busy atm to post much xD
so I apologise for any delay in updates and answers D:

I've got some time before my final exam so I figure I'll get an early start.

- I chose Torchic and nicknamed him after Captain Jack Sparrow (Capt. JACK) from Pirates of the Caribbean. Obviously, Blaziken is gonna be one of the fighting types I go with.

- Nothing much to say, I did all of the beginning game stuff before I set off on my adventure. I got to Rustborough City and my Combusken annihilated Roxanne's Gym. I got back Peeko and the Devon Goods and now Mr. Briney just gave me a ride to Dewford Island where I'll take on the Gym there eventually. Along the way, I caught a Zigzagoon to use as my Cut slave.

Unless there's an (Optional) tag on them, all rules are to be followed.
I am aware that this could make certain Eras harder to play through than others, but that's the point, really and the challenge wouldn't be the same without those rules xD

I have a suggestion, if you'd like to hear it. What about a World War II era? You could have steel types to represent armored vehicles, water types for the navy, flying types for the air force, and dark types, because war is bad. Once you get to Kanto in G/S/C, you could use poison types (chemical weapons) or ghost types (dead people.) In addition, an era rule could be that all Pokemon must be "armed and ready" meaning they have a ranged attack (rock blast, flamethrower, etc.). Just a suggestion. Reply and let me know what you think!

Time for my next run :D
This time it will be the Progressive Era, on Fire Red!

It seems I can't save on this copy of Fire Red
(Oh well I'll beat the Challenge before it becomes and issue)
Without further ado, let's get started!

Spoiler:
I started with a male Calm natured Squirtle and called it Bram!!
Skipped everything skip-able in Veridian Forest, and challenged Brock.
Easily won of course with my Squirtle.
Again skipping as much as possible, on to mt.moon.
Third wild pokémon was my target, a female Hasty natured Clefairy!
No nickname yet but I'll probably just name her Fairy.
Also caught a Paras for HM-Slaving. Named it Clash
(Always name Cut/Flash Slaves that)
Backtracking now to train Fairy!
(And catch some random pokémon to fill up my pokedex)
Caught a Weedle, Caterpie, Mankey, Ratatta, ...
Even defeated my Rival while I was at it. I was way too over leveled for him by now...
Went on and caught some more pokemon:
Pidgey, Spearow, Jigglypuff, Nidoran M, Zubat, Geodude, ...
That should be enough to get me the Flash HM laster on...
Went through the cave, randomly picked up a fossil and arrived at Cerulean City!
Sold 2 potions and bought 8 super potions to eliminate corruption!
Rival fight, ready, go!
This fight always turns out to be the hardest out of all rival fights as far as I remember.
Catching some more random pokemon for the dex (won't bother naming them from now on lol)
Anyway on to the bridge to beat some cheeky trainers, and save dear Bill.
Misty was easily beaten. Fairy took care of Staryu and Bram's Bite did a 2HKO job on Starmie.
Now I'll probably skip the ss.anne and the third gym until a bit later.
Caught a Growlithe and collected the Eevee in Celadon.
Sold some stuff and bought 3 Carbos for Eevee to eliminate some more corruption.
Bought a Firestone and Thunderstone.
Eventually beat Lt.Surge.

3 badges now!!
Current Team:

Growlith (RK9) lvl 27 - Gentle
Jolteon (Spiky) lvl 26 - Hasty
Clefairy (Fairy) lvl 30 - Hasty
Wartortle (Bram) lvl 35 - Calm

Played for a bit yesterday:

Spoiler:
  • Beat Roark, which took me 3 tries. Cranidos kept getting critical hits on ForestGump, and Noisemaker, of course, was useless.
  • Released Noisemaker into the wild-go back to your home!
  • Caught a Geodude, nicknamed HM Slave (guess what he's for?)
  • Made my way to Floroma town, where I caught a Shellos and named it Slimey.
  • Saved there.
