I'm not as bothered by it as a lot of people but yeah, not even near my first choice.
You can't really judge him on those last 5 games so he is an unknown quantity. His total lack of experience in the transfer market shouldn't be too destructive with
the setup McNally outlined the other day. A reputable technical director that Adams would learn from could be perfect, somebody like the aforementioned Curbishley would be a good move. There were slightly hopeful rumours floating around that we might approach Gérard Houllier, the thinking is a backseat role would be more up his alley with his health issues.
He has a good affinity with the club and fans so I expect this reaction will have long blown over by the time the season starts. Not sure how I feel about this but playing attacking football has been made a part of his contract. I assume he'll also give chances to the younger lads he's been working with in previous years, I'm sure they're happy with the appointment.
Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
