EDIT: Hey PC! One thing that's bothered me as of late is the fact that I don't feel as if I know very many of you, and I think the same thing came be said about me. A lot has changed for me in the past 2 years since I first created this thread (both on PC and in real life), so I figured now would be as good a time as any to get this back up and running. Feel free to ask me pretty much anything and everything!

Also, original OP spoilered below. Warning: there are words. Many of them.

Spoiler:
so what if my thread title is the same as my usertitle? i'm not that creative.

Hello fellow... PokeCommunitiers? PokeCommunitites? PokeCommunitrons? Do we even have a demonym for PC members?

Anyways, my name is Brendino, or simply Brendan. Yes, just like one of the main characters of R/S/E. Semi-related to that, my dad’s name is Barry; always found it funny how that worked out. Posting a thread is pretty out of the norm for me (only my 3rd or 4th- depending on who’s looking), but since it’s only available to supporters and staff at this point, I might as well take advantage of it while I can.

As for a little more about me, I’m 21 years old, and I live just outside of Vancouver, Canada. Right now I’m working as a member of a stocking team at a drug store chain, which isn’t a job I’m really happy with, but work is work. Before my current job, I actually did video game testing for a year and a half with both EA and Ubisoft. It was a really great experience, being able to play and give direct feedback on dozens of titles well before they hit the open market, sometimes more than 8 months in advance. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to swing it into a full-time job, so after being on call for the last few months rather than getting regular shifts, I decided to move on. I would probably go back if offered a full-time position, but then again, it’s not something I’d necessarily want to make a career of. I also hope I get the opportunity to go back to school in the future, but I’m making it a goal to only go back when I don’t need to pull out a massive student loan to do so.

As for some of my interests, the biggest one is sports- both playing and as a fan. I think at one point I had over 25 of my favorite sports listed on my profile, but hockey, golf, baseball, and both American and Association football/soccer round out my top 5. I’m actually pretty talented in all of those that I mentioned, but let’s just say I wasn’t blessed with the body of an athlete (that didn’t stop me from getting an A in my final year in PE, though).

Another big interest of mine is video games, as my previous employment might’ve suggested. I’ll play basically any type of game that’s out there, but still gravitate towards the sports genre here, too. The only genre where I’m absolutely terrible at is first-person shooter games, where my best online match was a 5 kill, 13 death run on Far Cry 3. Any other time, I'm lucky to die less than 20 times in a round. And while it should be obvious, another of my favorite games are those in the Pokemon series. Despite being a fan of the TCG and anime from day one, I didn’t have my own game until 2001 with Gold. I also kind of gravitated away from Pokemon in my teen years, only getting back into it full-time in 2011 (which is about when I started becoming a more regular poster on PC, too).

I’m sure I’ve probably got more to add, but then I guess there wouldn’t be too much to ask, would there?

I see you in my forums a lot, so let me start off by saying I really enjoy your posts and you're one of my favorite regulars. :)

Do you still collect or play Pokemon TCG? Do you have a favorite set?

So is Unown your favorite Pokemon? You always seem to have it in your theme, and I usually think of you as the Unown person haha.

Is there any job you'd love to have?

Favorite Pokemon game?

What got you back into Pokemon?

FIRST PERSON SHOOTER GAMES ARE SO HARD I KNOW
I FEEL YOUR PAIN
Do you ever feel judged by the gaming community for not being good at FPS games??

I appreciate it, thanks!

I can still remember all of the rules, but I don't play it anymore. Every couple of months I'll pick up a pack or two just for fun, but that's about it. As for my favorite set, I'd go with EX Sandstorm, mostly due to the fact that some of the best cards I own come from it. The Plasma Freeze set that was just released looks pretty good, too.

I do like Unown- it's probably in my top 10, but it's no secret that it's a pretty bad Pokemon when it comes to battles (my favorite Pokemon is actually Butterfree). You rarely see anyone using anything Unown related, though, so that's why I've kind of latched onto it.

Even as a kid I never really had a dream job, but am interested in both digital and print advertising, so I could see myself doing something related to that in the future.

If HeartGold had Emerald’s version of the Battle Frontier, I wouldn’t have ever needed another Pokemon game. But, Emerald was the most fun I’d had playing Pokemon since I first got into the games, so until something can top that, Emerald’ll be my favorite (fun fact: I've never actually owned my own copy of Emerald, but I "accidentally" forgot to give it back to a friend for a few months).

I don’t think I ever stopped liking Pokemon, but after losing my GBA and Sapphire for a few years, I just kind of migrated away. It must’ve been at least 2 or 3 years until I found it again, and seeing all the Pokemon that I raised back then showed me why I still loved it. Finding out that hacks were a thing really increased my interest, too, and it ultimately lead me to signing up here at PC.

I’m awful at one of the most popular genres and really enjoy one of the more casual ones, so I’ve definitely heard some good natured ribbing from people. There seems to be a growing divide between those who love and hate FPS’s though, so as long as I remain in the middle somewhere, I don’t really feel judged about it.
