*FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ POKEMON ADVENTURES ONLY*

So I was thinking. What if we could use the special “Abilities” of the Dex Holders in a Pokemon Game? The abilities for Gens 1-4 are the following:
Red- The Fighter (Battling)
Blue (Male)- The Trainer (Training, duh)
Green (Female)- The Evolver (Need I say more?)
Yellow- The Healer (Self-explanatory)
Gold- The Hatcher (Pokemon Hatching… yep)
Silver- The Exchanger (Pokemon Trading)
Crystal- The Catcher (Catching)
Ruby- The Charmer (Contests…. ugh)
Sapphire- The Conqueror (Beat the Gym Leaders)
Emerald- The Calmer (Can calm pokemon on a rampage)
Diamond- The Empathizer (Represents Mesprit, emotion etc)
Pearl- The Determiner (Represents Azelf, Willpower etc)
Platinum- The Understander (Represents Uxie, Knowledge etc)

So here we have it. This is my ideas for these guys.

Red- Being a Pokemon Battler, he would probably get an overall stat bonus to all of his pokemon during battle. Basically, his pokemon are more powerful.

Blue- He would level up, or “train” his pokemon extremely quickly. EVs are also raised.

Green- She can evolve or Mega Evolve her Pokemon without meeting the requirements for evolution. She can also de-evolve her pokemon.

Yellow- She automatically heals her pokemon after every battle. She also raises her pokemon’s level depending on their health, as seen in the Firered and Leafgreen chapters. Basically, if her pokemon are hurt, their levels raise depending on how much health they have left. If they are healed, their levels drop again.

Gold- He can hatch pokemon eggs quickly. Another idea I had was being able to teach said hatched pokemon moves they wouldn’t normally be able to learn… “illegally”.

Silver- Can switch an opponent’s pokemon with a pokemon in his party. Basically, you carry around a bunch of Pidgeys and trade them with your opponent’s Alakazam. You get to keep the pokemon afterwards, at the cost that the trainer you stole from will continually battle you every time you pass him/her.

Crystal- Gets a huge increase in pokemon Catch Rate. She also encounters Shiny pokemon more frequently than others. The pokemon she catches have increased IVs as well.
Ruby- Gets a Bonus in all Contests. He also has battling perks as seen in the manga. If you attack on the first turn of battle, that attack has an ENORMOUS increase in damage, and also ignores resistance and immunity, as well as abilities such as Water Absorb, WonderGuard or Sturdy. If you 1-hit KO that pokemon, you get another chance to 1-hit kill the next pokemon. If you use an item, switch a pokemon during your turn, miss or don’t 1-hit KO the pokemon, your chain is broken.

Sapphire- Can choose 1 stat from every Pokemon to give a MASSIVE increase. This stat can be changed at any time while outside of battle.

Emerald- I didn’t incorporate the “Calming” feature, but I took inspiration from his battle in the Battle Pyramid. Emerald automatically gets a bonus set of items every battle. He automatically gets a few potions, revives, X items etc. The amount and quality of the items changes the higher level the pokemon in your party are. He can also call Latias and Latios to fly on them like in ORAS.

Diamond- This one was harder for me. I mean, Diamond’s just… slow. But then I thought-- What if Diamond’s ability acts as the Trick Room move? So all extremely SLOW pokemon move quickly and vice versa. His pokemon would probably also get a small defense increase.

Pearl- In the manga, Pearl can tell what attack a Pokemon is going to use based on its stance (come to think of it, Bill does the same thing… weird). So Pearl would get a little Heads-Up on the attack coming next and can plan accordingly. This may not always happen every time, but it would be a cool idea.

Platinum- Being the Knowledge person, she could tell what attacks a pokemon has. This is different from Pearl, don’t worry. Pearl knows what attack a Pokemon is going to use right before they use it, and doesn’t know that they have that attack until they’re about to use it. Platinum can see what moves they have in advance, but doesn’t know when they’re coming. Platinum can also see what item the pokemon is holding, what the other pokemon the trainer has are, and can see if the trainer has any items (such as potions and revives) that they’re going to use in the battle. This allows for a whole new level of strategy.

So these are my ideas for a Pokemon Adventures-style game. More may be to come, don’t quote me on that :P
Hope you enjoyed!

Shhhh.... I don't want anyone to know that I'm using this for Trainer Classes in a future Pokemon Game.

But yeah, these are great! :D
It's what I kind of figured for each class. :)

They are back in ORAS as well--

3 years and 3 months later and Red still looks mostly the same.
The update is good timing for my Trainer Red cosplay in April.

Still can't find anything past 530 in B2W2... :/

I would like to ask about censorship in the manga series. Mainly the adventures series. I don't know if many people have talked about this one but I saw a picture on twitter a long time ago from the Black and White adventures manga (I think) where in the Japanese version the gym leaders were all tied up on crosses ( I'm guessing from team plasma) and in the English version the crosses were changed to poles. I for one am glad they changed this, but I want to know if it's true or not. And does anyone have any other observations?

Completed National Pokedex in Pokemon X on 8-5-2014

Can I find it online?
Yes you can find it online. It took me a few hours to find an online manga site that wasn't either removed or had it but was licensed. Here is the link that will lead you to there.

Yay! Finally a threat for the Pokespe Manga! I was desperately searching for one. As for me I totally loved every arc of this Manga and among the main characters there isn't actually one I dislike. They are all great. And I love it how the newer story arcs could be connected to the former one and how the new main characters met the former ones. That just gave me so much the hypes and I loved it.
As until the HG/SS arc I especially love Green (my most favourite) Gold, Ruby and Diamond and Perl were just too cute and funny.
I like it how the females weren't just useless crybabies who needed to be saved. In this manga everyone gets to do something and help and actually there aren't useless ones among them and that I love too.

From the females I love Blue the most and then Sapphire and Platinum and Yellow. All the other ones I do like too, but these ones I had to point out.^^

Other than the main chaacters I liked most of the gym leaders and top 4 and champions. Lance and Steven and I liked Riley a lot to. And so many more I just can't name them. Or Wally too^^^
After the HG/SS arc the chapters weren't complete and I couldn't see much of BW and BW2 but I love Cheren, mainly because of the game BW2 and the animated trailer for the game.

He was presented as a calm and cool guy, ready to help you any time and a badass. So I wonder can someone of those who could read BW and BW2 tell me is his character is the same/similar to his game verse or totally different and if he gets a lot of screen time or not. (I am creating a fanfiction about him and an OC of mine and drawing a lot of fanart and trying to make it a doujinshi, wonder if anyone would read it. Is there anyone who loves him too??

But I like N too. (I dislike the CherenxBianca shipping though)

But really this spoilers got me. No Manga could surprise me with plottwist as much as this one did. I nearly screamed and got all crazy when I saw Green in the X Y chapters, thanks for the post. And Blue and Red were also awsome in the ORAS I love it when former characters appear again it feels so great.
Well my post got pretty long^^

@Beacons - If I may suggest, it may be best to start at the beginning of the manga series. The reason for this is because some of the series stories continue where previous stories left off. Like for FireRed and LeafGreen and such. If you start in the middle then you may get confused on what happened to get into a certain situation.

As for me I have read the manga up till the Pokemon Black and White chapters. Now I'm waiting a little bit for more chapters to be released. I can't wait to read the future chapters since the last chapter I read is left off at a cliffhanger. The worst way to end a chapter and not being able to find out what happens right away ;-;.

where is the best place to start for someone wanting to get in to the manga? is it difficult to jump in to the middle?
If you're talking Pokemon Adventures then it is critical to start reading from the beginning, if not for the fact that the plot continuously builds on itself like a crazy fast & furious franchise then because the RBY chapters were some of the favorites. Definitely start from the beginning there bro

Really enjoying the Pokemon Adventures Manga a lot. I started reading it not too long ago and I just became hooked. Never really read the Pokemon Adventures Manga before, always watched the anime. After a while I decided to read the Manga and I started to enjoy it more than Anime. The Manga has such interesting characters and even the storylines are enjoyable. Every time I read a chapter it brings in something new.

I had basically read more than half of the Pokemon manga available in Japan, including those super rare ones that doesn't even have any English translation nor scanlation. (It is a good thing for knowing how to read Japanese)

Pokemon Special manga series is obviously my favourite, no other Pokemon manga beat this one. But I also like others. One of my super unpopular opinion regarding on Pokemon manga is -- I actually quite fond of the Pokemon ReBurst manga. :-)

BTW, I knew a fansite that has both the raw Japanese scans and some English translated scans of almost all Pokemon mangas up to current date, with only a few missing. Though not all are completed, but still it had large variety of Pokemon mangas in it. PM me If one wants to know the address of the site.

Do you know if Viz has any plans for translating the B2W2 arc? I buy all mine from Viz because I am a sucker and they finished Black and White last year. They're done with everything but B2W2 (not started), XY (started), and ORAS (started).

Also, do you think they're going to release full length volumes of XY and ORAS like they did for BW? They initially released BW in minivolumes then went back and republished them all at full length.
