Have you ever experienced:

- Vertigo
- Nausea
- Convulsions
- Dizziness
- Vomiting

or anything like such after having watched a movie in 3D at home or in the theatres? The congratulations! You might have 3D Motion Sickness.

Why do I ask?

I thought it was a fluke, really. I watched Transformers in 3D and Monsters University in 3D and both times, I became extremely nauseous. I wanted to vomit and I had trouble walking and balancing myself after the movie. I sat dead-centre in the theatre, too, so my eyes weren't too strained.

Today, I saw R.I.P.D. (don't waste your money on this garbage) and I started getting hot in the face, and then I started getting super dizzy and nauseous. I started hiccoughing and wanting to vomit :( It was an awful experience, yet again, and I somehow managed to stumble my way out of the movie theatre.

So have you felt it? Yes, no?

Have you only felt it in certain parts of the theatre?

How long do your symptons last?

I have not actually experienced this, but I really only sit on the right side of the theater, so I don't know how it works for the center and other sides. But I can say I haven't thrown up or gotten dizzy.

Btw, they offer 2D alternatives. You should watch that instead of 3D stuff so you don't get sick in the middle of a movie. That's probably not healthy.

Yeah, I went to see R.I.P.D. earlier today and I thought it was the 2D showing. For some reason, they were only offering it in 3D today? I regretted every moment of it :x not for the company, but the fact I'm still very dizzy and it's three hours later.

No history of epilepsy or anything. I can play 3DS but only on 1/2-3D setting, otherwise my eyes bugout @[email protected]

I was reading on Google that some people get it only on certain sides of the theatre. I've been dead-centre and on the side part and I've gotten it every three or four times I've been there to watch a 3D movie.

I've been to a ton of 3D movies (Which is a pain if I don't have contact lenses and I gotta wear those 3D glasses over my real glasses because they heard I like glasses so they gave me 3D glasses so i can wear glasses while I'm wearing my real glasses) and I never experienced that, I only felt uncomfortable when I wear 2 glasses on top of each other.

Yeah, I don't get any type of other sicknesses :( but I swear, my body started super-heating afterwards... It felt like I got a fever for a bit there. Very uncomfortable.

Google shows that lots of people experience 3D sickness. It really is unpleasant @[email protected] and I was on the website looking at movie stuff for Galaxy and usually it's very precise about 3D or not, but it wasn't listed so I figured it was 2D... My stomach is still churning six hours later.
Ugh, I'm plagued by 3D motion sickness like crazy. u_u I also thought it was just a coincidence for a while, bad food before hand or something similar, but it's happened too many times now. I intentionally avoid seeing any 3D movies at this point. The last one I saw was some.. Owl movie a while ago? Idk, some movie about owls. All the flying around and "cliff-diving" scenes made me absolutely sick to my stomach. Just thinking about watching the latest Superman movie in 3D was nauseating. @[email protected]

Oddly enough, I don't experience this motion sickness with my 3DS. I guess because the screen is so small I don't feel like I'm completely losing my spacial awareness.

The only 3D I have ever seen is from a 3DS, never seen a 3D movie or tv or anything like that before. The 3DS hurts my eyes after like 5 minutes, so I turn it off. I don't think I ever looked at 3D long enough to determine if I get sickness from it or not. But since I don't get sick from looking at things in real life, I can take a safe bet and say no, I don't get sickness from it.

I did a couple of years ago, a lot I might add.
But now it seems to be gone, which is great.

It hurts my eyes a little bit after awhile yeah, but I don't get dizzy or anything. (Well... Actually I might.. I'm kinda just naturally unbalanced though.. Like if I walk next to someone I tend to drift into them unknowingly..).
I prefer 2-D movies though.. But the main thing I don't like about the new 3-D thing in cinemas, is the fact that the glasses have two batteries that get pressed against each side of your temples.. That can't be good for you, and I don't wanna wear them for the fear of getting a messed up brain or something.. haha

I don't get any sort of motion sickness from seeing things in 3D- I just get a really bad headache if I'm watching or playing something in 3D for more than half an hour.

In fact, it wasn't until the past couple of years where I could actually watch things in 3D, as everything prior used to use the old red-blue 3D glasses, which I couldn't use.

If I focus on a 3D screen for more than a minute I feel nauseated though I'm only speaking from my experience with 3DS. Though I did see some 3D TV in a nearby Costco I was unable to concentrate on the 3D effect for more than 30 seconds before losing the focus.

I've watched a few 3D films and never really had any issues. The first one I ever watched, Avatar (wow, that was ages ago) did give me a headache afterwards. But ever since, nothing's troubled me. Looking at how many people have problems, I consider myself lucky... I really do.

When a girl is moving too fast for me, I get motion sickness ;)

for srs tho, I think so. Watching the first part of the Hobbit was kinda nauseating just because of the 48 fps 3D and fast movement, and it took away from the experience.

I get headaches/nausea from 3D movies :( Sometimes I can manage the shorter films, but I tend to just opt for the 2D version.

So far I have only experienced a bit of teary eyes, itching eyes, a some slight double vision. I had it after playing my only 3D game [Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity] for almost 4 hours non-stop or when I'm having fun with the 3D camera feature of the Nintendo 3DS XL, again after 4 hours of almost non-stop use with the 3D slider on.

I have not experienced any of the other symptoms

Voted for Sometime, since I only get them after while and not all the time. If I do take a break in between plays, let my eyes relax then I won't get any of the symptoms.

Aside from that, I have not had any experience with any other 3D feature

I don't get motion sickness from watching films in 3D, but wearing the glasses on top of my already kinda-thick glasses a) is kind of awkward and b) hurts my eyes after an hour or so if it's continuous. It's part of the reason why I'll see films in 2D if the option is available at all times.

I don't really get motion sickness from 3D viewing, but after a while my vision goes a bit weird and I get a headache.

By weird I mean a few seconds struggling to adjust to real 3D instead of the fake 3D that screens use.
What would I like to see in the future? A few things, actually.
1) A trio of ROM hacks [gen1, gen2, gen3] that, aside from the generation, are pretty much identical: You start in Kanto and post-elite four you travel through Johto as it would have been "3 years ago".
2) A demake of Heart Gold / Soul Silver. Possibly using Fire Red as a base.
3) An official Pokémon game, following the standard "gotta catch 'em all" format, but aimed more at the older players.
