I'd go with Torterra battle wise. Sceptile used to be so good in Gen III but then the physical and special split happened and he got quite nerfed in later games.

I had a hard time to choose between Torterra & Venusaur because they are both great Pokemon battle-wise and they have great typing.

Posting two threads this similar minutes after each other is a bit close to post-farming... It would have been better with just one thread asking for the favorite starters of each type from people. But to keep the polls, we'll just leave it as it is I guess.

In the future, try to merge thread ideas you have that are extremely similar like this. Leads to more substance in replies rather than very short replies in two threads!

As for the topic itself, my favorite is Venusaur. Grass starters were never my favorites (except for Chikorita) and the only final grass evolution from the starters that I think look good and enjoy using in-game too, is Venusaur. Plus, its prevolutions are really great as well.

If I had to choose - it goes to Serperior, out of all of them, its the design I like the most, and the one I would use a lot more.
I ♥ Foxes and Cats!! - art i drew myself
instead of 'Catch 'em All' for me would be "gotta Pet 'Em All"

Serperior of course, who doesn't love a beautiful royal snake?
Gone forever for personal reasons.

Forever and always Venusaur. Generally I never like the grass starters, but Venusaur's design is just so perfect, how can you not love it!

In arrangement of personal interest, I would put them as Venusaur > Torterra > Sceptile > Meganium > Serperior.

I know I am get some questioning to as to why Meganium is so far down the list... I've never liked it that much, the flower only really worked for Venasaur and should have left it there.

Don't even get me started on Serperior.

This is hard, but Venusaur because it's an ubiquitous and popular Pokemon, and has an awesome design. Sceptile would be a very close second, with Torterra right behind it at third.

This question is tough, the grass starters are my favorites!

Venusaur is almost always my starter since it's my favorite grass pokemon in RBY.
It's one of those pokemon that has a jungle vibe along with a beautiful palette. However, though I love the design, it is a bit bulky for my personal taste. 8/10

Meganium gets alot of flack. I am not big on stats and competitive play. As far as the design, it's beautiful, though it is missing the same charm as Venusaur, despite being more my style. The yellow antenna's are also a nice touch. 8/10

Sceptile is the only starter that doesn't really give me a strong positive review. There is just something about the tree-tail that seems too unnatural unlike the other designs. Though, I will say I love the face and it's shape, as well as the leaves stemming from its forearms. Blaziken seems to overshadow Sceptile. 6/10

Torterra's design seems like it is based off the origin of the Earth story as well as the great flood stories from a few cultures, including native american. The earth growing from it's back could be said is a little too over designed, but generally, I love the idea and the grass/ground typing. 8/10

Serperior had one my favor with the reveal of Snivy, but its final form only reaffirmed my love for the line. I love the emperor-like pointed collar and the trademark smug upward nose shape of the face. This pokemon has the most personality beyond just a great design and palette. 9/10

I am leaving room for improvement. I am hoping Chespin's evo's earns a 10/10 from me!

Meganium > Venusaur > Sceptile > Serperior > Torterra

I voted Meganium, mostly for nostalgic reasons. My Meganium in Pokemon Silver was the very first Pokemon I legitimately trained up to level 100, and I spent sooo many hours on Pokemon Silver. I actually cried when the battery dried and I lost my save file. I loved my Meganium so much. :(

Venusaur is a very close second because Bulbasaur is my favorite Kanto starter and I like that it's second typing is poison, which makes it immune to being poisoned.. always a plus. Sceptile is easily the third as it was the first starter Pokemon I used in the Gen III games and I still love using it.

I have yet to actually play with Serperior or Torterra (although Torterra will be used soon since I'm doing a ground mono challenge right now). So they're at a tie for last. I do like Serperior's design a lot better though, which is why I pushed it ahead of Torterra. Torterra's design has grown on me over time but when I first saw it I thought it was just atrocious.

Ugh. I love the final Grass starters so much so it's really quite hard to choose. Though I suppose if I have to pick just one it would have to be Meganium. It was the first one I used and thus I suppose I have a bit more bias towards it than the other. While I love Venusaur I don't believe I have used it on a team. I don't believe I have used Sceptile either (and if I have I do not remember). Torterra and Serperior I have used but I feel as if Meganium did the best for me back in Crystal version. ♥

Sceptile is easily my favorite of the Grass starters, followed by Venusaur and Serperior, then a large gap before Meganium then Torterra.

Treecko was one of the coolest new Pokemon I remember seeing when Ruby and Sapphire were released, and I knew I had to use it. Once I got a hold of one, it became one of my party's key components in my first playthrough of Sapphire, and it's easily my favorite of the 3 Hoenn starters as well.

Although one of my favorite Pokemon is Bulbasaur, my favorite final evo grass starter would be Torterra. Maybe because Torterra has a tree on its back, while Venusaur has a flower, and flowers are girly, haha.
oh, and the others? don't really care 'bout them. :P

Ohh, the Grass poll is all really close :o This is the only case in which Sinnoh doesn't win for me, I adore Sceptile because it's just such a cool Pokémon. 'cool' is a very general word and doesn't usually aid a description, but I think it's the perfect way to summarise Sceptile and I'm sure most people would agree. Meganium and Serperior are okay and I love Venusaur and Torterra, but Sceptile's cool nature and interesting battle strategies make him top for me.
