So I'm planning on getting a few SACDs,(Super Audio Compact Discs) and I want to know which player to get. I don't need some ultra Seinheiser type sound quality with built in amps, just a SACD player that doesn't have dead time between songs (I've heard a lot of people with issues like that) and that is relatively cheap.

If you have a Windows PC, you already have one.

If you're looking for a dedicated one, though, I am afraid I cannot help.
Yeah, I'm wanting a SACD player, since I can't stand listening to music on a computer.

Could you be a little more specific to your request, specifically is it for home usage or for portable usage? If it's for portable, then you're better off getting an mp3 player of some sort to have your music on.. or if it's for home usage, what you could do is hook your desktop up to a stereo system with cables like these and listen that way.

(I'm kinda a huge noob at music) Thanks! I just have a few more questions. If I ripped a SACD album and put it on an iPod, will it play in surround? Also will it not have silence between the songs if I got a 160gb iPod Classic Gen 6?
EDIT: I believe they call the lack of silence between songs "Gapless".

Do remember to check the manuals for any and all home audio and video players within your home for supported formats, in case you have something that is capable already.

Out of curiosity, why SACD?

If you are planning to get SACD content only to put them in some portable media player, I would suggest you either skip the SACDs or get the regular CD versions instead - many portable media players don't have audio output that does SACD justice, and well, no surround.

I'm thinking about getting an ipod gen 5.5, and some people the sound chip is better than later versions, while others disagree. I think the ipod does surround well, but I don't know for sure. Also my Pink Floyd SACD rips are FLAC, which normally the ipod doesn't play but there's this program called Rockbox that'll allow me to play them. I want SACDs since most of my favorite albums (Dark Side of The Moon, Tommy, Close to the Edge, etc.) are well remastered for SACD.
