Today, a certain topic came up when we were in class, in which I've been looking into it ever since I came home, and I wanted to discuss it here. The problem at hand is, most doctors nowadays, are unsure of the work they do. They seem to be completely ignorant to what is present at the market, and what condition the person has. Most medicines have certain chemicals that can harm the person if he or she is allergic to it.
For instance, my professor told me that when his wife gave birth, the nurse wanted to give her a shot of some medicine that he was supposed to give her. He argued with the nurse, saying that he's clearly oblivious and didn't read the records, in which it was stated, that she was allergic to what he was about to inject her with. He could've killed her if it wasn't for the husband interfering.
On top of that, some women when they're pregnant, get slight headaches and need something to calm it down. Before, most women used to buy pills that were prescribed from their doctors themselves because they're not supposed to take whatever she wants. And years later, they found out, that most babies were being born with a strange disease. Countless studies were made, and it all concluded that these women that had taken certain pills for headaches, were intoxicating their babies. And once the mother gave birth, they noticed that the babies were missing an arm or two, sometimes the hand, or they only had shoulders while the rest of the body was fine.
So the questions I've come to, are these: Are nurses and medics getting that lazy, that they don't even care for other peoples health? Do you think that all doctors, and employees that work in this kind of thing should always be up to date with what kind of drug is in the market or more importantly focus on the patient? Are the Medicine Schools not properly teaching their students what needs to be taken into consideration when working in this kind of job?
