Alot of us probably don't know this series but it is one of the longest running RPG's to date being feature on SONY and Nintendo consoles.

The basic premise of most Dragon Quest titles is to play a hero who is out to save the land from peril at the hands of a powerful evil enemy, with the hero usually accompanied by a group of party members. Common elements persist throughout the series and its spinoff titles: turn-based combat; recurring monsters, including the Slime, which became the series' mascot until the English version of Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King; a text-based menu system; and random encounters (in the main series)

Have you played any of the Dragon Quests? When 10 gets an english release will you buy it? What's your favorite game out of the lot?

Ah, Dragon Quest, what it lacks in creativity it makes up for with charm. Up until DQX, the game didn't really deviate too much from it's original formula. Being an old-school RPG fan, this series is easily one of my favorites. DQII is at the top of my list as far the main series goes. Both the original and the remake for the SNES are instant classics, and should be given a shot by all RPG enthusiast out there.

I'm willing to give DQX a shot, even though I never liked MMO's at all.

metal slimes ftw.

I've played a few but I'm really fond of the Monsters games. Monsters Joker 2 is one of my favorite games but I lost my copy a long time ago.

I might give X a shot but as of right now I haven't looked into it at all. With DQ games I'm usually pretty late to the party but X might be the one to change that.
