Hey guys, I have dabbled in the art of competitive Pokemon battling but could never get fully into it. With XY making training more bearable, I have decided to try my shot at building a team in the game (as opposed to Pokemon Showdown or something). So I pieced together this team of moderate to strong Pokemon, but I know it needs a lot of work and some input for the sixth Pokemon. I'm trying to run a Water, Fire, Grass core.

*Sylveon (Fairy)
Modest
252 SpA, 252 HP, 4 SpD
Ability: Cute Charm

Calm Mind
Moonblast
Shadow Ball
Psyshock/ HP ???

*Greninja (Water/Dark)
Timid
252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 HP
Ability: Protean

Surf
Dark Pulse
Ice Beam
Grass Knot/ HP ???

Delphox (Fire/Psychic)
Timid
252 SpA, 252 Spe, 4 Def
Ability: Magician

Flamethrower
Psychic
Will-O-Wisp
Magic Coat?

Gourgeist (Grass/Ghost)
Impish

252 HP, 252 Def, 4 Atk
Ability: Insomnia
- Leech Seed
- Toxic
- Seed Bomb / Explosion?
- Phantom Force

Goodra (Dragon)
Calm
252 SpA, 252 HP, 4 Spe
Sap Sipper

Dragon Pulse
Thunderbolt
Sludge Wave
Fire Blast / Flamethrower

Pokemon #6
Trying to add in a Mega. Some options I have considered for physical sweeping, since I obviously lack any physical attackers, are:
Scizor
Tyranitar (Sand Stream though :l)
Heracross
*Pinsir (Jolly, 252 Atk, 252 Spe, 4 HP)
Banette

* means the Pokemon is already EV trained, so I probably won't be willing to retrain it or rebreed for a new ability.

Any constructive input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Use Shadow Ball and Hidden Power Fire over Psyshock on Sylveon.

Delphox isn't that good, IMO, but it can work. Somehow:
-Calm Mind
-Fire Blast
-Psyshock
-Grass Knot/Shadow Ball/Hidden Power (Fighting/Ground/Ice)
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Leftovers/Life Orb
Ability: Blaze

or
-Fire Blast
-Psyshock
-Hidden Power (Fighting)/Grass Knot
-Switcheroo
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Choice Specs/Choice Scarf
Ability: Blaze

Use Hidden Power Fire on Greninja.

The Super Size and Small Size Gourgeist are the best sizes for you to use, but I'll assume that you're using the Super Size one, since the Small Size one plays differently:
-Will-o-Wisp
-Leech Seed
-Protect/Pain Split
-Seed Bomb/Shadow Sneak
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 HP/4 Atk/252 Def
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Frisk

A Calm nature is pointless on Goodra without Special Defense EVs or Assault Vest:
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast/Flamethrower
-Thunderbolt/Sludge Bomb
-Focus Blast/Dragon Tail/Power Whip
Nature: Modest/Quiet
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SAtk
Item: Choice Specs/Assault Vest
Ability: Gooey/Sap Sipper

or
-Dragon Pulse
-Flamethrower/Fire Blast
-Thunderbolt
-Toxic/Dragon Tail
Nature: Calm/Sassy
EVs: 252 HP/4 SAtk/252 SDef
Item: Leftovers
Ability: Gooey/Sap Sipper

Consider Mega Lucario because of its incredible Attack and Speed. Your other proposals work too:

Mega Lucario:
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Bullet Punch/Extreme Speed
-Earthquake/Crunch
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Lucarionite

or
-Agility
-Close Combat
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Flash Cannon/Shadow Ball/Dark Pulse
Nature: Rash
EVs: 252 Atk/84 SAtk/172 Spe
Item: Lucarionite

Mega Scizor:
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-X-Scissor
-Roost
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 248 HP/16 Atk/244 SDef
Item: Scizorite
Ability: Technician

Mega Heracross:
-Pin Missile
-Close Combat
-Rock Blast
-Swords Dance/Sleep Talk/Earthquake
Nature: Jolly/Adamant
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Heracronite
Ability: Guts/Moxie

Mega Pinsir:
-Swords Dance
-Return
-Earthquake
-Quick Attack
Nature: Jolly/Adamant
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe
Item: Pinsirite

Mega Banette:
-Shadow Claw
-Taunt
-Will-o-Wisp
-Destiny Bond
Nature: Careful
EVs: 252 HP/4 Def/252 SDef
Item: Banettite
Ability: Frisk

or
-Phantom Force
-Sucker Punch
-Will-o-Wisp/Taunt
-Destiny Bond
Nature: Brave
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 SDef
Item: Bannettite
Ability: Frisk

Test which one works for you.

I like Scizor for this job.

Scizor could run a set something like this:

Scizor @ Scizorite
Nature: Adamant/Brave
Ability: Swarm
Moveset:
Iron Head
X-Scissor
Brick Break
Swords Dance

This set is obvious. Adamant would increase Scizor's already high Attack while lowering its completely unused Special Attack, and Brave would increase the Attack and lower Scizor's already low Speed. Since Technician would be useless (all of Scizor's moves are higher than 60 Base Power), Swarm is the best Ability to go for here, and it increases the power of X-Scissor.
Swords Dance would add to the Attack stat, Iron Head and X-Scissor would be good STAB moves (both with 80 Base Power) and Brick Break would provide excellent coverage.

I don't agree with this Scizor set at all. If regular Scizor Mega Evolves, its ability will change to Technician, regardless of what ability it had, and none of this Scizor's current moves benefit from Technician at all. See the Scizor set I posted.

banette isnt that bad as an attacker but relies more on support and a few sting moves (in my opinion)
Yeah... Its only worthwile stat is Attack, and SpAtk (with the correct EV's and IV's), considering most of its moves are Special or Status moves.

I like Mega Banette for status moves. With Prankster and its wide variety of those particular kinds of moves, it would be mostly used for that purpose if I used it.
