I don't know about anyone else, but for the longest, I've been wanting to see more celestial-themed pokemon; under a new "galactic" or "celestial" type. I mean, there's Staru and Starmie and Deoxys, which are Pokemon not even of the poke'world, but from the deep regions of space, so giving them new typing's, and dropping in more celestial type Pokemon would make a lot of sense, I figure. Definitely more star-themed pokemon based off the constellations or big-name stars, like Polaris, the North star (which could be like a celestial + ice or celestial+fairy type) and Sirius, the dog star (which could be normal+ celestial) Hopefully, if there is a Pokemon Galazy title in the (near or distant) future of Pokemon gaming, there'll be Pokemon based off of Algol, the Demon star (dark + celestial), Hatsya and Bellatrix (celestial + fire?), two of the Orion constellation's stars, and many, many more.
So, that said, do you guys think there should be a new type of pokemon in the future, dealing with celestial/ galactic? Do you forsee a "Pokemon Galaxy" title, or something similar, since we've had pokemon games based off of colors and rare gems/ metals/ and the Alphabet? Any pokemon based off of certain constellations or stars or planets you'd want to see, if it ever happened?

I've thought about the idea of a Space-themed type for a while and I think it would be overall cool.
I also think 20 types would be a good place to leave it. With Fairy there's 18, so Celestial and maybe Sound? I don't know. Light?
Overall, I think it's a neat idea. You've obviously put quite a bit of thought into this, which I applaud.
......Oh, did you want a signature here or something?

well, I've wanted celestial-themed Pokes' for a looooong time now. Thought we'd be getting some with the arrival of team galactic, but noooo. ): It would've been a good time to, if you ask me. And there's already 2 space-based evil organizations....Team Galactic, Team Rocket....no reason not to throw in some galactic/ celestial Poke' friends. That, and 18 types, while a lot, seems incomplete, like the number should be rounded off for an even 20 types, like you said. I guess there could also be a light type, to counter Dark, even though Psychic already is its counterpart. Maybe Plasma type, rather than light. Seems more fitting to make the last two types that, if they get made.

I think they've made Psychic connected with superintelligence, time travel, mind reading and connected all this with astrology and astronomy somehow. Because pokémon with celestial themes, Lunatone, Solrock, Deoxys... They are psychic type. Apparently they've connected moon-stuff with the Fairy type (Clefairy for instance, has got to do with the moon a lot) but planets and space seems to have fallen under Psychic. And I think that's okay, even if it might seem a bit weird to put that together with mind reading and such.

Actually, Psychic could maybe be better described as the Sci-fi type! Then it doesn't seem as strange to bunch supernatural psychic powers together with space stuff.

I've been saying it for so long now, Sound and Cyber(or Digital or Data, or whatever you'd want to call it) types should be top of the list. And if there were an Astral type, there'd have to be like, 4 of them.
Stats don't matter as much as heart.

So much burden for the psycic types, to be connected with all that; ironically, which doesn't make them OP. Still, it'd be nice to have some of those abilities that are tied in with psychics as their own type; for the astronomy geeks who've been wanting celestial or galaxy themed types since Gen1

I think Psychic-types cover the idea well enough. The whole idea of psychic power is a kind of pseudo-science that came to prominence in the middle of the 20th century when people were talking about aliens and astral projection and past lives and other new age stuff like that. They're not all that unrelated. Plus with Fairy's getting all that moon-related stuff there's even fewer space-themed Pokemon available (unless we retyped Clefairy after just retyping it).

How would celestial 'type' Pokemon be any different than the types already in the game? Even when you have Pokemon hailing from outer space, Fire is fire, water is water, ground is ground ect, no matter where you are in the universe. What would celestial be weak to, what would it be strong against? Don't get me wrong I wouldn't mind seeing a few more alien themed Pokemon, but when it comes to typing it'd be difficult to really set them apart from the standard typing. As for the 'light' type the new Fairy actually fills this in nicely, being based off of Japanese Fairies they're more in line with what the western world would consider Angelic(hence why it counters dark).

I would like to see a Sound and/or Cyber type however, but it again becomes difficult how to fit them into the type chart.
Life is but a tale of Saints and Soldiers.
