It's been a while since I've added a topic, so here you go!

Which Generation has the best Fire-types?

I'm a genwunner. It's true. With Charizard, Arcanine, Ninetales, Magmar, Flareon, and Moltres, Gen I has the most Fire-types that I like, so I have to go with it.

I think I'll go with Gen V, it has the Litwick line, Larvesta line and Reshiram line: all unique on their typing. :)

I'm just like Sun there, a Genwunner for 5th Gen. There were so many awesome and original designs plus lots of unique type combinations as well, like Larvesta line's Bug/Fire and Litwick line's Ghost/Fire.

I'm back after a little bit of time away and I've got another topic for us to discuss!

What is your favorite Fire-Type legendary?

Moltres is hands down my favorite legendary Pokémon. The concept of a bird on fire is fantastic to me and Moltres just has a great design and will always be one of my favorite Pokémon.

My favorite Fire type legendary is definitely Reshiram. It's got a very elegant yet (for lack of a better word) cool look to it, it's great in battle, and I like how it represents an incorporeal concept that not already popularly represented (like time).

Here's a new topic for us:
If you were allowed to distribute a non-legendary shiny Pokemon, what special moves would it have?
- Keep in mind Fire-types only.
- Be overpower as much as you want, just give a good explanation. :)

I'd distribute a shiny Larvesta with Flash Cannon. Because the user 'gathers its light energy' and, as the Torch Pokemon with a design that references the sun, Larvesta should have a whole lot of light energy. I'd also have it know Dazzling Gleam. Because I feel like all shiny Pokemon should get to learn that move, for some reason.

I love your idea, if possible this Larvesta should have Drought as its Ability. Srsly, just degrade the Swarm as its second standard abililty.

I say a Shiny Chandelure with Thunderbolt and Giga Drain. {XD}

So it's been a loooooooong while, but now that I'm moved in and settled I'm back! Also I've picked another Pokémon of the Week:

Spoiler:

Magmar!

Yellow Pokédex: Born in an active volcano. Its body is always cloaked in flames, so it looks like a big ball of fire.

The fact that it was born in a volcano is just awesome.

Magmar is one of my favorite Fire-types. It learns some great moves and is pretty balanced overall. I like it better than Magmortar slightly because of the fact that it looks like it literally walked out a volcano (which it did!) and it just seems a lot more realistic to me for a volcano dweller.

Hello there fellow pyros! I'd love to join the clan here with you guys.

Name: Blayze
Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Charizard and Camerupt
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: I like fire and burning things for real, so it's only logical that I like Pokemon of that type!
Answer to current topic: Magmar - Well I like it, but I don't. lol It's a fairly decent Pokemon, but I've always thought that its design was a little odd. I do however, think that its baby forme is adorable!

Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Arcanine
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: Burn is effective
Answer to current topic:

Arcanine is somewhere among my top 10 fave all time pkm. Also do like ninetails. I have a Drought ninetails right now that trolls Battle Masion pretty hard in ORAS.
I also remember using rapidash pretty often as it is typically the most convenient decent fire-type in most games that isn't a starter. I'm also kind of digging the Mega form for camerupt.

on topic, magmar is one of those pkm that i always wanted to like but never really did. It's funny looking with not too shabby stats. But it's just one of those pkm i'd always swap out for Arcanine, ninetails or rapidash when it was most convenient for me.
But now that im able to trade with myself, i'm looking to get a magmortar pretty soon. Which is what i think this pkm needed... an evolution.

Yass, been long while, so long that my neck had grew longer than a Fearow's. :v

I have to admit that I didn't pay much attention at Magmar's existence. I didn't know there was a Fire-type platypus until witnessing Blaine's from the anime! Lol Upon seeing it, I was like 'Is this fella Fire/Water-type?'. :P I was hoping to hatch a Magby egg in Crystal, but no I was given a yellow rodent instead. :(

Fast forwarding to Generation IV, Magmar became my center of interest again, since it gained an evolution that it truly deserves since its debut. I don't think it's an exaggerate to call the Magby family as my Fire-type signature Pokemon back in Gen IV. ;)

Yo, welcome to the hottest club on PC! I love how your name, it fits in this club well! XD

Really? XD I say Magmar is one of those Gen I one Pokemon with a modern design. ^_^ But to each on their own, can't force my fiery love for Magmar on everyone! Stay active like an active volcano, the club owner likes his club hot! :B

Magmar...
I've never used one. Never caught one. Never really looked at one unless it was an opponent I had to beat. It's not that I hate Magmar, it's just that I'm unsure about its design and that there are other Fire types I prefer. So, not much to say on this topic.

The design might not appeal you, but would you consider using one in the future? :)

Everyone, I'd like to share an experience with my latest mono Fire challenge with the hack BlazeBlack 2, hope you guys won't mind.

So my final team for the Amazing Race was consisted by seven Pokemon (in rotation) they are Ninetales, Volcarona, Darmanitan, Chandelure, Camerupt, Magmortar and last but not least Charizard.

I'm highlighting some Pokemon here:
Spoiler:
Ninetales is arguably the most useful, as she sets up the sun. Solar Beam in her move set is rather obvious and very self-explanatory. Let's admit that Ninetales isn't particularly impressive in the offensive area, therefore the help of Nasty Plot is needed. The move Psyshock in her arsenal makes her the perfect counter for the Poison and Fighting-types alike. Finally, her STAB move is Flamethrower, I didn't make her learn Fire Blast since we're in an adventure; 5 PP with the maximum of 8 PP plus the shaky accuracy aren't the most appealing things in travels. Her Drought Ability has protected her fellow team mates and herself, we literally smacked Marlon's team with the power of the sun.

Magmortar is as useful as it was in Gen IV games, that high Special Attack almost made it the boss of non-legendary Fire-types. It has access to Thunderbolt which is unusual for Fire-types! He's the reason why I'm afraid to face the Water/Flying Pokemon. Magmortar's presence in the team is a guarantee to victory. Catch a Magby today. -burned for advertising-

Camerupt's Speed is awful, he isn't too hot in the defensive area either -- Water is commonly seen in-game (and a x4 weakness; Sun couldn't really protect it well), while the move Earthquake is included in most in-game Trainers' Pokemon. Because of those qualities I've learned to accept and appreciate Mega Camerupt even more. But those common-type weaknesses has a great trade off for good offensive qualities; Camerupt is able to slay a lot of types , so brace yourself for the bad-a Camerupt, these types are namely Rock, Grass, Bug, Steel, Electric, Fire, Ice, Electric, Poison and Flying to a further extend as it has access to Rock-type moves.

Darmanitan wasn't part of the final team plan, as I've used a Darmanitan in my previous Unova playthoughs. Darma's spot was initially for Speed Boost Blaziken, but fml the game was so cruel and I hadn't encounter a HA Combusken even once. Going back to Darma, she's quick and she hits hard. She has access to awesome moves like Earthquake, Rock Slide and Fire Punch. The last two moves receive benefit from her Sheer Force Ability. U-turn is also handy in most situations. ;)

tl;dr: Fire-types (as of Gen VI) are mainly focused on the offensive side, of course, undeniably strong on that aspect too. To be more precise they are quite like the glass cannons, so a through planning and precautions are needed in a mono Fire. :) Loved the overall experience. :D

I feel like that it's definitely a sign of tastes changing, even if Cyndaquil's line is the worst Fire starter competitively. The fact Charizard has lost for the first time ever means I'm happy that nostalgia seems to be losing its grip lately.

There are still four types whose polls haven't been done yet (Normal, Grass, Flying, Water) so Charizard could still have a chance in the Flying-type poll.

Noooo! Charizard can't loose! This makes me a sad panda. :( Charizard is my most favorite; has been since the beginning.

Though, at least the Chimchar or Tepig line didn't win that one. I'm not a fan of either of those. (Nor of the real animals that they are based off of.)

Let's ignite a new fire with another topic.

don't ask I'm feeling punny right now

Which Fire-type Mega Evolution is your favorite?

Charizard X, of course. I just love how it transforms into an actual Dragon-type and wrecks stuff like crazy with its Tough Claws ability. And of course, it's Charizard, so it's automatically cool.

Name: Apollo
Pick two Fire-type Partner Pokémon: Arcanine and Ninetales
Reason(s) for liking Fire-types: I guess it's because of their fiery aura which I can relate to my personality in real life? x) (also I'm a gryffindor) Fire-types were my most favorite type as a child, with my most favorite back then being Charizard and Moltres. There are also plenty Fire type Pokemon I like and they tend to have one of the best designs.

Answer to current topic: Charizard X has a cool design and is very strong. So.. that I guess. :D I haven't used much mega evolutions, unfortunately, but based on their designs alone I'd also pick Mega Houndoom and Mega Blaziken. While on the topic of Mega Evos, it would be great if the Kanto fire mammals (Arcanine, Ninetales and Rapidash... at least that's how I call them haha) had mega evos of their own. Maybe Fire/Fighting for Arcanine, Fire/Ghost (or Psychic) for Ninetales and Fire/Flying for Rapidash (a sort of pegasus thing)?

there is no fire like passion

Mega Charizard X is my favorite. It's powerful in battle, can make great use of Tough Claws, and finally turns Charizard into a Dragon type! Not to mention its wicked awesome design, and a few of the theories surrounding it on just why its coloring is so different and why Charizard has two Mega forms.
Mega Houndoom gets an honorable mention because its design is one of my favorites.
