Coming into 2014 from 2013, we've seen a variety of games from FPS, to Platform games, and so on. But from all the video games nowdays, what kinds of video games would you like to see more of? For example, would you like to see more connectivity, would you like to see more story development, would you like ot see more of an interesting array of mechanics to play...

It can be anything, of any type! And why? Feel free to share thoughts. :3

In general I find games too realistic nowadays. I'd like to see more animal characters, and robot ones that actually have personalities. I'd like more experimental art styles and aesthetics rather than just constant realism, like in Jet Set Radio, Okami, or Killer7. I'd like more experimentation in existing franchises; for example, even the Sonic the Hedgehog games that have turned out a little broken I appreciate very much because at least Sega tried something and they're less monotonous to play.

And God, I want Nintendo to put out more new IPs.

I'd like to see more open-world styled games. Similar to how open Fallout was and Skyrim. I'd also like to see some more really in-depth RPG games such as Skyrim; that actually don't charge subscription fees or need pay walls to actually enjoy the game.

A little more of original games, you know, as opposed to sequels of world renowned games like Call of Duty, Street Fighter and Final Fantasy

I'd like co-op for these games, without any real changes to the game itself — not after an MMO.

Careful how you use those words. I would love more jRPG's and RPG's with a much larger open world and customization. But jRPG's aren't the hot stuff this gen and it might be until later this gen that it is.

Most definitely; you don't know how many times I wished Skyrim had a co-op.

What do you mean? Sure, they're not "in" right now, but that doesn't mean they don't have potential or that it's dangerous to wish for anything about them.

Not to mention that, as the sixth-seventh generation has shown, the East isn't quick to jump on the next generation train. We'll still be seeing games being released on the PS3 and 360 for a few years, now. It took until 2009-2011 for the PS2 to stop producing games and until 2013 for the PSP to do the same.

Yeah, the last NES game came out in 1994, a little after I was born and when the N64 must've been well into development. And there were still Dreamcast games coming out in Japan during my junior year of high school.

Oh god co-op in Skyrim, I would rather a party system but beggars cant be choosers. I would love for co-op dungeons in skyrim or just really hard ones that require 2 or more people to kill and it's difficult even at max level.
Since the 1.9 'legendary' update one's level can progress infinitely, in principle, as the player can reset skills once they reach 100. In practice, I've played for over 500 hours and no one of my characters has even reached the original cap of 81½. I suppose if there were co-op/partying, there would be a max level and/or a range limitation like in Dark Souls.

More console games which utilize the online capability. Particularly fighting games. Also we need more great quality, online co-op shooting games like Left For Dead have. I know the company that developed that is working on another game similar, and I can't wait to see more of it.

More JRPGs puh-lease! D: I understand that majority of console gamers like playing the action and shooting games, but JRPGs are slowly becoming obsolete. Whenever I read about an interesting and good reviewed JRPG I immediately snatch it up; sometimes even desperate enough to buy random ones XD

^^omg a Final Fantasy Tactics fan ;w; !! one of my all-time favorite games!

I'd like to see more dating sim games with RPG elements (like Rune Factory and Persona) with both female and male main characters.

I'd be interested in unusual combinations of established game genres. What about a roguelike dating sim, a first-person tactical RPG, a turn-based platformer, or an open-world sci-fi skateboarding/roller-skating game? I can imagine how those might work, and I'd play any of them in a heartbeat.

Female characters that aren't just fan service husks but more akin to real human beings
Real? You have full world of reals, why put something like this into the game?

Hehe, I bought the collector's edition. Immediately jumped on board when I first heard about it :3 But I've noticed a change in our games library where it used to be 90%, if not 100%, of the RPG genre, but now it's starting to become more diverse because I'm slowly migrating to different genres and needing to integrate myself in the trends these days.

Reboots. We rebooted Sly Cooper, let's reboot Jak and Daxter. ;) And I mean like good reboots, not like...Nuts and Bolts reboots. That doesn't count by any stretch of the means.
