Some games have extended prologues or first levels that seem to go on forever. What games do you play that you wish the introductory mission/level/chapter would be a tad shorter. Would it be because of long opening cutscenes? Lengthy tutorials? Or just a lot of NPC talking?

Final Fantasy X, let's face it the game and the plot doesn't really get started until you finish the blitzball tournament. That's like 4 hours of tutorial gameplay and unskippable cutscenes. Even the enemies give terrible experience just so you're around the same level so the fights can be choreographed. Immediately after Luca the random encounters give more experience than any boss you've fought so far.

Eh, as much as I LOVE Tales of Graces, gods the Childhood arc was really long.

I mean, it was good, but it didn't have to be that long, in my opinion. Like, it's great how they introduced the variety of characters, and showed off their little bit of friendship between Sophie, Richard, and Asbel, but, maaaaybe they didn't need it to have combats everywhere because I don't think it serves much in the main story. @[email protected];;

Then again, I guess I find this refreshing on how we get to see the main characters on a Tales game grow up, so that we can level with them more! I actually love the characters in this game, so, I guess that was good merit to the childhood arc!

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker & Final Fantasy X
On my old laptop, I was running Dolphin w/ Wind Waker and when the intro finished, I forgot to plug my laptop in and it died. Had to sit through the same intro twice, as if once wasn't long enough.

Just about every Harvest Moon game I played has had really tedious introductions and tutorials that you can't decline. What annoys me most is the text speed though. >:(

Also, I think I grew really impatient with Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers in Time. Everything just seemed to go on so much slower than Blue Rescue Team.
I forget how emotions dance when they aren't inside of me
I forget how the sun feels when she isn't around me
And my dreams become sweeter when something is missing
I'm in love with the hunt itself
It makes me feel alive

I found Black/White to have an incredibly long intro compared to the other one's.

When you first pick up the game and you are just playing through the first bit at your own pace, I completely agree! ;-;

The prologue to Kingdom Hearts 2. It's like 20% of the game. It's a decent prologue, story-wise, but it's kinda boring and repetitive compared to the rest of the game.
Agreed. The part with Roxus was essential imo, but very long. Other games that I thought had longer prologues were Blue Dragon, Darksiders and some of the MGS games.
