And in the west as well!

Japan got it announced as MH4:G, while we will get the same game with the title MH4:Ultimate (yay upgraded version of the game). While it's only been mentioned so far to be on the 3DS, this time it'll also have the internet multiplayer options, so all good there.

The downside - we get it in early 2015, a while off. But then that's understandable, given the sheer amount of content the game would have that needs to be translated (including stuff not yet made too).

Anyone already excited about this news?

Personally, I can't wait. MH3U is starting to feel a little bit redundant to me now, as I pretty much have all of my desired equipment. 2015 is definitely further than I would want it to be, but regardless, I'm stoked.

However, I'm wondering how much monsters will be in MH4U. Regular MH4 already has 52 large monsters, so just from speculation, MH4U has to have at least 60ish monsters! Which is a crazy amount, that would already beat MHFU record of 58.

The boyfriend is very excited over this. :) It's a bit of a wait but better than nothing! I might consider picking up a copy once it's out, too, to get a feel for all the hype surrounding this series.

Mmm, this is only for the 3DS, right? It's pretty interesting in that case; unless they plan on a release to hardware consoles! In any case, I really like playing Monster Hunter when I can, and this one is sure to be a fascinating experience! :3

I'm really looking forward to this... I'm also really glad that (at the minute) it's a Nintendo exclusive! I'm also not as bothered by the 2015 release date as most people since it'll give me a year to finish Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. While I really do love that game, I've kinda been playing it on and off since its release date last year.

Give us finally MH for Sony for god's sake! :D
MH, I believe will not hold anymore contracts with Sony due to issues that arose when they were making MH3:Tri. Sony kept marking up the production cost and kept demanding more features, pressuring the team developing MH. They eventually went and canceled their contract and put themselves back on the market and found Nintendo's offer the better one. As far as I've heard, they prefer working with Nintendo than Sony and have no plans of signing a new contract with Sony or signing a contract with Microsoft.

I've never got to play MH4 so us getting the updated version as our header seems interesting. I'm still on a 3 and Portable kick so I dunno how well I'd receive 4. Didn't like the controls for MH3:Ultimate on the 3DS so I dunno if I'd like 4 on the 3DS.

I'm super excited for this game, and I'm also glad they decided to straight up skip the base game and go straight for the expanded edition, and I tend to enjoy those far more then their base equivalents. I'm also glad it's comming out next year, I really want to get to the point where I can finally fight the Abyssal Lagy in Tri Ultimate!

Did you try the circle pad pro? Getting an add on may not be ideal, but I have one and it's made it pretty manageable. Getting used to swimming controls does take a little bit of time I suppose, but oh well.

I see... I was wondering why this was only for 3DS...
Well yea... Sony is pretty demanding... but you cannot wonder, MH for Sony so Sony wanted to make it the best possible...

There's news that the US and EU could be getting Monster Hunter Frontier G soon. Check out what Capcom had to say: http://mynintendonews.com/2014/02/03/capcom-may-release-monster-hunter-frontier-g-in-the-west/ . I'm not a big fan of the games personally, but the fanbase has grown considerably sine the PSP days.
