X Dark Monotype, Update #3

Spoiler:
Continuing from last time, I got to Geosenge Town, beating Korrina's Lucario duo with some luck thanks to Frogger confusing the second one with Water Pulse after she was at +2. Before entering Reflection Cave, I caught a Stunky named Stinkshoot. Upon entering Reflection Cave, before doing anything else I caught a Sableye named Slenderman. I battled those Fighting-type trainers, including the one with Throh and Hawlucha, even though it killed half my team, as did the Mr. Mime/Machoke duo.

I arrived in Shalour and went to the Tower of Mastery. Calem was rather easy so i'm not gonna go into that. As for the Gym, the trainers were harder than the Gym Leader was. For Korrina, Cataclysm's Aerial Ace (which had Sharp Beak backing) killed Mienfoo with ease, then Hawlucha came out and Slenderman forced her out. Nyx weakened her a bit, then died to Rock Tomb, but when she healed Cataclysm OHKOed her with Aerial Ace. Then for Hawlucha, I brought in Slenderman. GG.

The whole Mega Evolution thing aside, I caught an Inkay at Azure Bay named Funhouse. I beat Calem in Coumarine again, he was even easier here and got Polina to evolve into Pangoro. Then I got Funhouse to evolve into Malamar, and took on the Gym. As for Ramos, Jumpluff was 2HKOed by Return after a Screech, then I used Screech on Gogoat before he killed me, and Cataclysm OHKOed both that and Weepinbell with Aerial Ace.

So I then went through the Power Plant, which was very annoying with all the grunts using Poison-types. Once I got to the Lumiose Gym and beat some tricky trainers, I fought Clemont. I ended up with Frogger weakening Magneton, but he brought in Heliolisk. Polina OHKOed that with Vital Throw. Then for Magneton, who was at like 40% when he brought it back in, Circulation took care of that, then Emolga as well (also, I missed with Screech twice in a row. LAME). But I won. And afterward, Frogger evolved into a Greninja, which is great.

I healed up and decided to stop there.

So here's my team:
Spoiler:
(F) “Frogger”, Level 36

Moves: Smack Down, Surf, Water Pulse, Water Shuriken

(F) “Polina”, Level 34

Standing out From Normalcy Part 2

Spoiler:
So after defeating Viola I headed on my way. Caught my only "HM slave" as a Sweet Scenter Combee as two of the pokemon I want for this run come from hordes. Having a pokemon that makes hordes easier is helpful. Very. Very Helpful. I defeated Sycamore pretty easily and suffered through the blahdy-blah that followed. I was temped to catch a Doduo Or Furfrou but decided against it. Tierno was a sinch to beat. I had forgotten how much I hated the friggin scene spamming in the beginning of this game. It's cool, but when you're going through the game for the umpteenth time, it gets kind of annoying! I chased down some other guys Furfrou, rolled a Snorlax to smithereens, and beat Tierno and Trevor (Who, in my head, sound like Jumbo and Albert from Fish Hooks respecitively.)

I went through connecting cave and stepped out to Route 8 for my next challenge. CATCHING A FREAKIN ZANGOOSE. I could never kill the Sevipers in time so it tended to die. Every horde I found I was mortified that the Zangoose would be blue. To be honest I probably would have stopped the challenge then and there.

But after much hardships (AKA like two or three hours of trying.) I finally got my Zangoose, named Miron. After leveling him up I moved on. Getting to Ambrette town greeted me with MORE. TALKING. And finally I was off and on a Rhyhorn pacing and moonwalking until I found a Dry Skin Helioptile, (I tested it with Rolen) and named him Raska. I too leveled him, and moved on to Cyllaige, and the gym therein.

It was a gym that was, admittedly, far more difficult than it should have been for me, but then, I feel like Tiel has a low attack stat (Especially since Huge Power is HA and thus unobtainable for me.) and it came to bite her on Amaura when she couldn't OHKO it with a 4x effective double kick. Tyrunt, from there nearly swept me, but Rolen and Miron took him down low enough for Raska to deal the final blow. I wasn't about to send Kiara out to her doom. She's not death fodder.

So now, with two badges, its' off to Geosenge as well as getting my final team member.

Poison Monotype FireRed Challenge Update #1

Spoiler:

-Started up my game and named myself Pink, as I usually call my male characters Blue, and this is my first time using a female character
-Chose Bulbasaur and readily beat my rival[I named him Purple instead of my usual Green, I don't know either]
-Delivered Oak's Parcel, nothing of interest happened on the way there or back
-Immediately rushed to Viridian Forest and captured my first pokemon, Weedle{lvl. 4}
-While grinding in Viridian Forest, Weedle evolved into Kakuna after I beat Bug Catcher Charlie
-Beat Leader Brock for the Boulder Badge rather easily[I'm assuming it's fairly obvious why the battle was so easy]
-While battling on Route 3, Kakuna evolved into a Beedrill after I beat Bug Catcher Colton
-On Route 3, I caught both versions of Nidoran{lvl. 6}
-Ran into Mt. Moon and caught a Zubat{lvl. 8}
-Ran back and beat my Rival on Route 22. Whether that's because I 'forgot' or because I was waiting to catch a couple team members that weren't gonna be massacred by his fire type and his flying type, I'll let you make the call
-Went back to training against the other trainers on Route 3, and Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur after beating Youngster Ben
-Made my way through Mt. Moon relatively easily, leveling up my pokes along the way
-Got to Route 4 and caught Ekans{lvl. 10}
-Beat Rival Purple in Cerulean City. Charmander was difficult, but sleep powder combined with Leech Seed seriously helped take him down
-It's amazing how much Bite makes a difference. Zubat went from barely being usable into being a powerhouse- Same with Ekans
-While training on Route 25, Nidoran Female evolved into Nidorina against Hiker Franklin, while Nidoran Male evolved into Nidorino after beating Youngster Joey
-Beat Leader Misty with some difficulty for the Cascade Badge. Probably the hardest battle so far, as Staryu took out Ekans, Nidorina, and Zubat, but Ivysaur took him out quickly[I was avoiding using Ivysaur as anything but a nuke button at this point, as I wanted to level everyone else up]. Sleep Powder/Leech Seed combo made Starmie a cake walk, it didn't even land one shot
-On Route 6, I ran into Bug Catcher Elijah. Screw this guy. He had a lvl. 20 Butterfree that seemed to only know Sleep Powder, Stun Spore, and Supersonic. Literally the only three moves it used. That is cheap as hell
-Went back and got an Oddish{lvl. 13} on Route 5. I totally forgot Oddish was a poison type
-Got on the S.S. Anne. After grinding against all the trainers, I took on Rival Purple. Charmeleon and Kadabra proved really difficult. Kadabra KO'd everyone but Ivysaur and Oddish. Charmeleon took out Oddish, and Ivysaur finished off Charmeleon with Sleep Powder/Leech Seed. Ivysaur was left with 9 HP left
-Got Cut, taught it to Oddish, taught Ekans Dig, and went to take on the 3rd gym.
-Beat Leader Surge for the Thunder Badge. Voltorb and Pikachu got KO'd by Ekans Dig, then Raichu KO'd ekans, and Ivysaur cleaned up with Razor Leaf and Leech Seed
-Spent some time training on route 11. Ekans evolved into Arbok after beating Engineer Bernie
-Evolved Nidorino into Nidoking using the Moon Stone at lvl. 22. Megahorn just seems like a better attack than Superpower, as it doesn't hurt the user
-While training on Route 9, Oddish evolved into Gloom after beating Picnicker Caitlin
-Waiting at the Pokemon Center before Rock Tunnel

MY CURRENT TEAM-
Spoiler:

ZUBAT{lvl. 20}
48/23/20/22/26/36
Bite/Astonish/Leech Life/Supersonic

GLOOM{lvl. 21}

I don't calculate stat values, I don't breed my way to perfection, and I don't care about natures. I catch my Pokemon the way they are, and treat them like individuals instead of brainless drones. If you use this philosophy, copy & paste this into your signature.

X Dark Monotype, Update #4

Spoiler:
After beating Clemont, I beat Calem on Route 14, he wasn't that hard (and all but one of my Pokémon gained EXP from his Chesnaught, haha). I caught a Skorupi named Venomfang, and added it to my party. Once I got sick of training I went in to YOLO it against Valerie. She wasn't as bad as I was anticipating, but her Sylveon with Charm was a bit of a pain.

Then I saved the Poké Ball Factory from Team Flare (these grunts weren't too bad), and caught an HA Murkrow on Route 15 named Fedora. Once I got to Dendemille Town, I bought some Moomoo Milks and went to Frost Cavern, where I saved Abomasnow from Team Flare. (Also, f*** Fighting-type trainers.) Once I got to Anistar City, I beat Calem pretty easily because his Vaporeon was stupid. Olympia i'm not even gonna comment on, except for the fact that every single Pokémon of mine gained EXP from her Slowking because it used Yawn FOUR TURNS IN A ROW.

Then was the big Team Flare event, Xerosic's Malamar almost swept my team because of Superpower and +2 Attack/Defense, but Frogger was just barely able to finish it with a Surf. They activated the ultimate weapon so I went to Geosenge Town. Before then I trained everyone to Level 46. Second fight against Lysandre wasn't exactly easy (had Cataclysm and a 12 HP Nyx afterward). After catching Xerneas thanks to it only using Gravity, Funhouse's Hypnosis and getting a critical hit Psycho Cut to knock it below half, time for the final fight against Lysandre.

He was only hard because of stupid hax. His Mienshao killed Venomfang with a critical hit on the first hit, and Gyarados killed Cataclysm in one with Outrage. Thankfully, Frogger was able to 2HKO his Honchkrow and beat his Pyroar with ease, and do half to his Mega Gyarados with Grass Knot. Polina survived his Aqua Tail with 12 HP and killed him from there. (I was refusing to use healing items, keep that in mind.)

With that, i'm free to head to Route 18, but we'll pick it up next time.

So here's my team:
Spoiler:
(F) “Frogger”, Level 48
Nature: Naughty
Moves: Grass Knot, Night Slash, Surf, Water Pulse

(F) “Polina”, Level 48
Nature: Lonely
Ability: Iron Fist
Moves: Crunch, Hammer Arm, Parting Shot, Vital Throw

(M) “Cataclysm”, Level 48
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Super Luck
Moves: Aerial Ace, Night Slash, X-Scissor, Thunder Wave

(F) “Nyx”, Level 48
Nature: Hardy
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves: Feint Attack, Fire Fang, Flamethrower, Toxic

(M) “Funhouse”, Level 47
Nature: Hardy
Ability: Contrary
Moves: Hypnosis, Light Screen, Payback, Psycho Cut

(F) “Venomfang”, Level 47
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Battle Armor
Moves: Night Slash, Poison Jab, Swords Dance, Toxic Spikes

(Not gonna bother with storage because I don't find it necessary right now.)

Well, in that case...

X Dark Monotype, Update #5 - Final Update

Spoiler:
After saving the world from Team Flare, I went to Route 18 and beat some trainers there. In doing so, Funhouse learned Superpower, THANK JESUS. Once I made it into Couriway Town, Sycamore was no sweat, especially considering Nyx survived a Water Pulse from his Blastoise. I then went through Route 19, battling a couple nuisance trainers while some fun, but then we had to fight the "friends" on the bridge. Funhouse took care of Shauna's Delcatty and Goodra (the latter only because it stayed asleep three turns) while Frogger killed Goodra, then Frogger also killed Tierno's Talonflame, Nyx beat Roserade and Venomfang finished off Crawdaunt. Lastly was Trevor. Funhouse 2HKOed his Raichu with Psycho Cut, Florges was downed from Psycho Cut then a Poison Jab from Venomfang, and Aerodactyl was a douche with Supersonic, but I eventually killed it.

Then we made it into Snowbelle City. I avoided all the Fairy-type trainers in Route 20, then made it to the Pokémon Village and caught a Zoroark that I named Cortex, which I replaced Venomfang with and immediately threw both Low Sweep and Flamethrower onto. Since grinding is for squares, I entered the Gym and decided to YOLO it, despite everyone being 49-51. Cortex actually tore through the first two trainers without a scratch despite being completely freshly caught (to be fair, some of them were stupid and used non-attacking moves). He did pretty decent against the others, too. As for Wulfric...Nyx swept him in three turns, using Fire Fang on Cryogonal and Flamethrower on his other two. Cryogonal only used Ice Beam for like 1/4 my health.

Then after getting through some interesting trainers on Route 21, and the dude blocking the entrance to Victory Road, I went and got some important TMs that I need Waterfall for, namely Dark Pulse. Then I put Polina in the box to free up room for a slot in my party, and after some searching in Victory Road, I found a Zweilous that I caught and named Necrum. (Yeah, I went there.) Took forever for me to find though, ugh, never again! I slapped the Lucky Egg on him and would put him in front against some of the trainers then switch him out. Calem was pretty easy, Cataclysm took care of Meowstic and Altaria, Nyx beat Chesnaught, Necrum did a bit of damage to Vaporeon then Frogger killed him with some Night Slashes, and Funhouse finished off Absol.

The very last trainer's Alakazam got Necrum enough EXP to reach Level 64 and evolve into Hydreigon just before arriving at the league. I then trained everyone to Level 60, doing nearly all my training on Route 18 and Terminus Cave, while in the meantime I found this that swooped down from the ceiling!

A shiny Noibat! I already have one with much better IVs in my main game, but I could give this away if I wanted. Anyway, I did some biking around Lumiose Tower, and gave Necrum the Soothe Bell to get his happiness up so he could learn Draco Meteor. Once everyone except Necrum was Level 60, I went into the Pokémon League!

Siebold was first. Cortex flinched his Clawitzer twice in a row, and he healed, but even Nasty Plot wasn't enough to OHKO him, and he killed me in one shot before Necrum finished him with Charge Beam. For Starmie, I brought in Funhouse on his Light Screen, and he used Dazzling Gleam for more than half while Night Slash did more than half to him. He killed me, but I brought in Cataclysm to kill him with Sucker Punch. Against Barbaracle, I was going to bring in Nyx as death fodder, but he missed three times in a row - once with Cross Chop and twice with Stone Edge. Gyarados killed Nyx, but I paralyzed him with Cataclysm on his Dragon Dance, flinched him with Rock Slide, and when he healed I paralyzed him again and flinched him with Rock Slide yet again, then another one killed him. MVP: Cataclysm

Then we had Drasna. Funhouse took care of Dragalge, and Altaria's Moonblast left me at 9 HP and she was at +3 Defense, but I killed her with a critical hit Psycho Cut while she was below half. Frogger slammed Noivern with Ice Beam, and almost Druddigon (critical hit left her at 1 HP...seriously?!). Necrum killed her with two hits after she healed. MVP: Funhouse

Malva was nothing. Frogger swept her in four turns, taking JUST over half from Brave Bird. MVP: Frogger

Wikstrom wasn't much either. Nyx roasted Klefki with Flamethrower, and after she weakened Probopass, Funhouse killed that with Superpower. Scizor killed Funhouse, but Cortex roasted that with Flamethrower. I lured Aegislash into the attack form with Substitute then killed him with Dark Pulse. MVP: Cortex I guess?

Lastly was the Champion, Diantha. Hawlucha's X-Scissor did less than half to Funhouse thanks to the Tanga Berry, but I killed her with a critical hit, which was good because that thing had me pretty scared. Tyrantrum I did over half to with a critical hit Superpower, and Head Smash knocked her low. She healed, but I killed her in two hits. Goodra killed me, but Necrum 2HKOed her with Dragon Pulse, surviving hers with 1/4. Nyx took it from there - Aurorus used Reflect and Light Screen, and I burned her, she hit once with Thunder and missed twice, then I was at +4 Sp Atk once Light Screen wore off. After that, Mega Gardevoir flinched with Dark Pulse after she Mega Evolved, and when she healed I OHKOed her with Flamethrower for the win. MVP: Funhouse and Nyx

And then there was AZ. Frogger solo'd his entire team, and that was that.

So here's my final team:

I have little progress on my Silver Poison, as I have not had much time to play it, but since my computer broke (and my desktop sucks lol) I decided I would do some cartridge work. However, I just decided this half an hour ago, so all I have on Black 2 is my starter :l

Pardon me, but I believe you forgot mine listed as complete (three posts above this), unless I broke some rule. Just pointing that out

Challenge Type: Single( this means you can only use one of each pokemon right?)
Game(s): Pokémon white (1)
Previous Progress: No
The Challenge Type refers to if you are playing an Ultimate or Single Challenge. A Single means you are going to just play one game (i.e. White). An Ultimate means you are planning on playing a game in each region from Kanto through Kalos. Refer back to the first post for more info on that.

7th Update, Fire Challenge, Black 2:
-explored Reversal Mountain with Bianca
-Litwick evolved
-arrived in Undella Bay, took a look around Route 14
-defeated Hugh before moving on
-caught Cobalion on Route 13
-arrived in Lacunosa Town, kicked Zinzolin's ass
-Village Bridge has some nice music
-evolved Lampent, caught Virizion
-arrived in Opelucid City
-cleared Route 9, did some shopping at the mall
-Challenged the Gym. This one proved to be tougher than any of the other gyms so far, which was nice. Things were a little too easy before. Probably cuz Darmanitan is a friggin' beast. Drayden didn't go down easily; actually had to use revives and healing items this time lol. The battle ended with Arcanine sacrificing itself to lower Haxorus's Speed and Attack (neutralizing the Dragon Dances), which then allowed Chandelure to come in and kill it with a Will-o-Wisp+Hex combo.

Now onto Team Plasma stuff.

Ice Monotype - SoulSilver

I started this monotype ages ago and never got around to posting. Traded in a Lapras as my Ice type and got as far as Goldenrod City. Unfortunately my Lapras hatched male... and Whitney's Miltank is faster than me. Yep, you can see where this is going.

Managed to find the time to play yesterday and get my second badge. Before that though, I searched far and wide for a blue Flabebe, Spritzee, and a female level 19 Eevee. Let's just say it was a lot of work and it wasn't very exciting. Anyway though, I did eventually find everything I was looking for and made my way towards the second gym. For having no healing items, a fainted Pokemon, and nothing at full health, it was pretty easy. Maybe I'm just boss.
