Well, I don't want to double post, so I'll edit this with my 'update'. I started with my cute little Cersei (aka May) and went to go save Birch with his Mudkip. Ending up getting relaxed but seems to be pretty strong so that's good! Went along the route nearby eventually and caught a Lotad and a Surskit. I've now arrived in Petalsburg and have just helped Wally catch his Ralts and spoke to Daddy.
-Headed towards Veilstone City
-Met up and challenged Barry to a battle
-Defeated Barry
-Ace managed to take down Staravia, Roselia and Prinplup with the help of Snow. Laslow takes down Ponyta with a few Hyper Fangs.
-After reaching max friendship, Snow evolves into a Togetic!
-Met up with Barry at Solaceon Town
-Explored to Solaceon Ruins to find HM Defog
-Explored the Lost Tower
-Caught the next member of my team, Nimbus the Lickitung on Route 215
-Made it to Vielstone City
-Explored Route 214 and Lake Valor's Lakefront
-Caught the final member of my team, Camilla the Girafarig at Lake Valor's Lakefront
-Headed back to Vielstone City to heal and saved the game
This will be my final update before the Elite Four. Whoo! I just got my eighth badge and am on my way to the Pokemon League. My team is:

It took some trial and error to find pokemon with TM moves that could stand up to water for all the surfing in this game, but Nidoqueen and Flygon are the best. Juan's Kingdra threw me until I remembered I had an ice-type in Piloswine. I think, with some grinding, I'm ready for the Elite Four.
Got defeated by Gardenia
Level grinded until Prinplup evolved into Empoleon,
Defeated Gardenia and fought the Galactic Grunts in the Tower.
Got the bike and the Explorer Kit
Made my way down Route 206 and to Hearthome City
Went to the contest hall talked to Fantina and then defeated her and Buizel evolved into Floatzel.
Fought Barry and got the Good Rod
Went to Mt. Coronet and caught a Barboach
Went back to Route 218 and caught Finneon
Got back to where I got the Good Rod and saved the game.

This is my first time doing a challenge like this, I'm a bit nervous about how I'll handle things like Team Aqua. I think Aron is the first and only Rock type before the 2nd Gym?
Here we go... I defeated the Elite Four! It took me three tries and a ton of grinding after the second attempt, but I finally did it. Water types are really rough for a ground run. Nidoqueen and Flygon were my go-to pokemon for this run, and I have literally never used Nidoqueen before. It really gave me a whole new appreciation for how awesome she is. Anyway, the final team ended up being:
I swapped Graveler for Claydol when I saw the Champion used all water-types. Graveler really wasn't going to be much use for this Elite Four really, so Claydol was the better choice. On a side note, Swampert is a serious tank.
This was actually really fun. I think I'm going to do a Dark run of Soul Silver this time so I can use my all-time favorite, Houndoom.

Black 2 Update
Badges: 6/8
1. Went east of Nimbasa into Driftveil
2. Defeated Clay. It was easy because grass>ground
3. Trained in the Relic Passage.
4. Got the Serene Grace Deerling.
5. Passed through Chargestone Cave and captured a Ferroseed.
6. Iron Barbs Ferroseed helped a lot in my battle with Skyla, earning me the Jet Badge.
7. Flew to Lentimas Town and went all the way to Opelucid. (while grinding of course)
8. Since no legendaries allowed, defeated Virizion.
9. Saved inside the Opelucid Gym.
1. Picked Cyndaquil for cut HM Slave
2. Powered Through The first areas
3. Got to Azalea and realised i was going to have to gen a dark type in
4. Genned in a Tyranitar
5. Beat The Bug Gym
Oh boy, where do I start... First of all, this certainly was not as easy as you'd think it'd be. It sounds odd, but the WATER-type using champion gave me a run for my money!
Obviously, Ground-types were a nightmare. It's a shame they kinda' stopped showing up after I got Lanturn. Except Flygon and Whiscash, Which water moves don't exactly take care of...
And today I learned that X Sp.Def wasn't a thing until Gen. 4! Goodness almighty, would that have helped...
1. Powered Through the Johto region and six badges i didnt have
2. Went into the elite four with a team of Umbreon, Pupitar and Murkrow
3. Before i started the Kanto i grinded out the bug contest for the dusk stone then evolved Murkrow
4. Immedietly powered through Kanto's eight gyms whilst picking up a seedot and a houndour
5. Caught Sneasel at MT Silver and then trained all my pokes to the 80-90 range
I will be heading to Red now and then once im done will be moving onto Emerald.
Well, I can't get started until I catch an Aron in Granite Cave, so...
Welcome to the team, Crush!
This one was funny. Every time I'd get knocked out in one hit by Machop's Low kick. This was my 5th attempt, My last attempt before I gave up at grinded more. Instead of OHKOing me again, he decided to use Bulk up instead, Immediately followed by me OHKOing him with a Crit Headbut! Man, That was lucky.
This May fight. Was SO HARD. I couldn't do anything to her Combusken, that is, until I learned Iron Defense. Once I used it 3 times, My defense shot up so high, I left that fight with little damage.
The only thing I can remember here is that I was desperate for a new party member.
Oh hey, I evolved!
YES NEW PARTY MEMBER! Wait, he's way underleveled... (His name is Firebrand)
Oops, forgot to take a picture of me defeating Flannery and reviving the Claw fossil.
His name is Fairin. Say hello Fairin.
Then Kinda nothing happened for awhile.
Then Firebrand finally decided that having high stats is a good thing.
New Party member! Welcome to the team Quake! This is my first time using a Rhydon, I don't know how good he'll be.
Does this mean you can do more than Scratch now? No? Ok.
Yes! Now with this and Iron Defence, we'll be UNSTOPPABLE!!!
Only to be Immediately corrected by their Claydol. I had to teach Crush Solarbeam just for it, luckily there Zatu likes using Sunny day.
And with that, I have all my Party members! His name is Ray.
Yes! Finally!
I now have a new hatred for that last gym's Kingdra.
Oh dangit. E4 has another Kingdra. Wallace's Wailord was a huge problem to.
Anyway, That's it! I've learned that I think i'm spoiled by the new pokemon games. It was so painful deciding who got Earthquake, and with X Sp.Def, Crush really would of been unstoppable!
I never thought this would be that hard. I was wrong. Very wrong.

Black 2 Update
Badges: 8/8 DONE I'M DONE WITH THE ULTIMATE MONOTYPE!
1. Defeated Drayden using Dragon Pulse Serperior.
2. Did the whole length of the remaining storyline.
3. Defeated Marlon in Humilao. Grass > Water.
4. Defeated Team Plasma in all the places. Frigate, Chasm, etc.
5. Went to victory Road. Did a lot of grinding.
6. Hugh was hard as Embord OHKO most of my team with Flamethrower.
7. Shauntal was hard because of Fire Blast Chandelure. Managed to almost wipe me. Good thing she ran out of PP. 5/6 died with Ferrothorn at the yellow.
8. Grimsley was much easier. Attract + Leech Seed + Poison Powder Whimsicott took care of Liepard and Scrafty. Bisharp and Krookodile was done by Sawsbuck. 1/6 died, Ferrothorn.
9. Caitlin was also hard as I have nothing against Sigilyph. I had to resort to Coil + Slam + healing spam for Serperior. Whimsicott and Simisage are the only ones dead.
10. Marshall was both sides of the spectrum. Throh and Mienshao are OHKOes but Conkeldurr OHKO Simisage and Ferrothorn. Sawk managed to kill Whimsicott, but not before I planted a Leech Seed on it, breaking the Sturdy. Sawsbuck managed to Horn Leech it to death after surviving a Brick Break. 3/6 dead.
11. Tried stalling with Whimsicott but one crit from Flamethrower Hydreigon ended my stall. Dragon Pulse finished Hydreigon and Druddigon though. Lapras was two Leaf Blades from Leavanny. Good thing Sing missed. I sent out my Ferrothron against Archeops as she was the only bulky one on my team. Iron Head plus residual damage killed Archaeops in one turn. Sent out Sawsbuck against Aggron, hoping to get a KO with Jump Kick. He managed to set up with Autotomize but two Jump Kicks made quick work of him. Brought back Ferrothorn for Haxorus. Used self-destruct but Haxorus survived and managed to setup using DD. Sent out Leavanny but it can't sponge any hit lol. Sent out Simisage as fodder for Reviving Ferrothorn. Self-destruct again and that ends my ultimate monotype!
