Looks like I'm done with my Fire Monotype in Red!

Spoiler:

-Got my Charmander as Starter. Nicknamed Rockstar (Obvious punchline here-Charizard's 4x weakness to Rock.)
-Grinded Charmander in Veridian Forest
-Evolved to Charmeleon

BROCK (Badge #1)
-Spammed Ember until I finally won.

-Mt Moon, no catches here (Red is quite short on Fire types)

-Defeated Rival because Charmeleon is overleveled at the moment
-Beat every Trainer in and around Vermilion City to prepare for Misty
-Did SS Anne event, smacked my Rival with Charmeleon
-Charmeleon evolved into Charizard!!!

MISTY (Badge #2)
-Avoided a Bubblebeam blast from Starmie with Dig
-Slash to finish Misty off

SURGE (Badge #3)
DigDigDig. I win.

-Snag Growlithe outside Lavender Town, nicknamed Ash (pretty awful nickname but whatever)
-Recieved Eevee in Celadon City, nicknamed Mozilla (Flareon is a Firefox! Pretty corny, I know.)

Growlithe--->Arcanine!
Eevee--->Flareon!

-Did Game Corner Event with my newly evolved Pokemon

ERIKA (Badge #4)
-Charizard's Ember cleaned her up easily. Moving on.

-Fought my Rival in Lavender, destroyed him
-Did Silph Co Event to teach Charizard Earthquake and grind my Pokemon
-Fought Fighting Dojo, got Poke Flute, beat goons on Cycling Road
-Safari Zone

KOGA (Badge #5)
-Fought Koga before Sabrina because of Charizard's Earthquake
-Earthquake won me this battle pretty quickly.

I then went and fought Blaine, all after getting another member of my team. I nicknamed Ponyta "Bloodred", as the Pokemon is a Blood Red Horse. I grinded it to become Rapidash!

BLAINE (Badge #6)
I can't think of a situation where Blaine is hard, unless I have Bugs or something. Anyway, I destroyed him with Earthquake and taught TM38, Fire Blast, to all of my Pokemon.

Now for Sabrina.

SABRINA (Badge #7)
As my Pokemon are overleveled for Sabs, I can defeat her easily. I had Arcanine take her out with Body Slam.

Here we go.

GIOVANNI (Badge #8)
-Charizard's Ground immunity was important here. The rest of my Pokemon were dicimated by Earthquake. So, I had Charizard Earthquake Gio's Rocks and Nidos. It ended pretty well.

Now armed with Fissure and a handful of X Accuracy/Speeds, I could eliminate my Rival's Pokemon and the E4 easily. No extensive grinding will be needed.

Now at Victory Road, I snagged Moltres, nicknamed "Firebird". Moltres is a Fire type with a BST at or under 600, so I could use Moltres. However, I didn't need it.

LORELEI
Fissure!

BRUNO
Fissure!

AGATHA
Fissure for the Ghosts and Arbok, then Fire Blast for Golbat.

LANCE
This match was singlehandedly won by Rapidash. I used Toxic, then trapped the Dragons with STAB Fire Spin. A cheap strategy, but there was no stopping it.

CHAMPION BLUE
Charizard took us home. Fire Blast for Pidgeot, then Fissure for the rest. So ends my Fire Monotype for Pokemon Red.

Pretty quick update, but this Challenge took less than two days to finish on my iPad at 4x Speed. (I wish this were on an OG Game Boy Color)

Final Info:
Spoiler:
Go play Pokemon Theta Emerald EX!

FINAL POKEMON!
Moltres -- Level 51
He didn’t really have a long run, due to him being caught solely for the elite 4, and right before it… orz

Arcanine -- Level 53
Again, not super hepful, but helped me get the final push during the first elite four battle to only k.o. one of my own pokemon

Flareon -- 68
2nd biggest player. Got me through Lorelei, Bruno, and half-way through Agatha before fainting. was even more helpful before I accidently learned a move and forgot his bite…
orz

Rapidash -- 51
She was more of padding in Lance’s battle so that My Charizard wouldn’t have been knocked out by Lance’s Gyrados.

Charizard -- 71
My baby. He just helped immeasurably, couldn’t have even made a dent in this challenge without him.

Psychic Monotype - Emerald

What a pain in the behind. I spent 2 hours hunting for Ralts. Then I spent another training it. Unfortunately for me, the first trainer has a Poochyena, meaning the best way for me to kill it is to use Struggle. So yeah, that's what I did. Later I had to fight Team Aqua. Oh guess what, he has a Poochyena. So I had to do the same thing... TWICE. After getting my requisite two badges, I had to go deliver this part to Capt. Stern. Oh hey, it's Team Aqua. Oh look, it's a FLIPPIN' CARVANHA! I can't wait until I reach the game corner, I really can't.

I TAKE BACK ALL THE BAD THINGS I SAID ABOUT GEN 3 BUG MONOTYPES

Ultimate Dark Monotype Challenge: Black Version
8/8

I'm back after a short hiatus, didn't know there was a darkblack hack until I googled it after seeing the updates on the first page. The game I'm playing is pokemon black not a hack.

Spoiler:

After defeating clay and getting the fifth badge I went through chargestone cave
Scraggy evolved into Scrafty
Arrived in Mistralton City
Trained on Rt.7 and Celestial Tower
Krokorok evolved into Krookodile
Soared through Mistralton gym
Liepard decided to test its newly sharpened claws and shredded Skyla's pokemon for the win ( used night slash on all her pokemon, 1 on swoobat and 2 each on unfezant and swanna)
After many twists and turns I made it through twist mountain and arrived in iccirus city
Went straight to the gym
Scrafty craftily shattered brycen's ice pokemon ( brick break 1 2 3 and its all over)
Went to the top of Dragonspiral Tower, where N got away with Zekrom
The game made me backtrack all the way back to relic castle, where I easily crushed team plasma
After finding out the light stone was not there I had to go to nacrene city
Finally was able to go through tubeline bridge and arrive in Opelucid City
Caught a Vullaby on Rt.10
Caught a Pawniard on Rt.9
Trained pawniard and vullaby a few levels
Went to opelucid gym
Drayden's Fraxure almost managed a dragon dance sweep after I led with vullaby and he used a couple of hyper potions. ( Vullaby fainted after about four dragon dances followed by a dragon tail, fraxure was in the red from vullaby's attacks. I sent in Liepard but fraxure ohko it after surviving a fake out followed by a night slash. It looked like it might ko all my pokemon, but Scrafty bailed me out and knocked out fraxure with a brick break, then ko Druddigon with a hi jump kick. Unfortunately it missed against haxorus and Scrafty fainted. Krookodile had haxorus for dinner.
Haxorus used dragon dance
Krookodile used Crunch
Haxorus used Slash it was a critical hit
Krookodile used crunch once more
Haxorus fainted)

Pokemon X Bugmono Update
Spoiler:

Did a lot (read A LOT)of levelling by exploring route 16 and the lost hotel
got all my rollerskating tricks
got super and old rods, fished up some luvdisc near ambrette town to get a heart scale
caught a zubat flyslave so i never have to bike that far again
taught scolipede megahorn (learns at level 60ish, but also at level 1 for some reason)
did frost cavern stuff nothing challenging
went to anistar city
VS Calem
ye gods i hate delphox, so pinsir OHKOs meowstic with x scissor after taking a fake out and a psychic, crustle tanks a psychic and sets up a shell smash ready to sweep then misses rock slide and dies to flamethrower, hoped vivillion could live a hit and quiver dance a few times and sweep but crit psychic
butterfree same result
scolipede FINALLY hit hard with megahorn and took a psychic then finished with another megahorn, healed up on jolteon which kept spamming quick attack and double kick then finished with megahorn followed by poison tail
missed a megahorn on absol as it swords danced and i was praying it didnt have sucker punch, it used quick attack which did about a third then megahorn OHKOd it. yay scolipede

gym was easy pickings for Pinsir
VS Olympia
What is it with gym leaders realizing their weaknesses and packing a counter? i miss the good old days of destroying brock with water and misty with grass *sigh*
anyway she threw the first spanner in the works with sigilyph which set up reflect so my X scissor did barely anything, then air slash hit hard and flinched me before killing me
leave it to butterfree to save the day taking an air slash (barely) and hitting sleep powder, then healed up and got up 3 quiver dances and proceeded to wreck face with bug buzz. slowking didnt get a chance to to anything and a bug buzz was a straight kill. meowstic hit me with fake out which did nothing then went the same way as slowking, bug buzz to the face gg.

I'm switching my Single Sacred Gold run to an Ultimate run with the following games
LeafGreen, Sacred Gold, Emerald, Platinum, White 2, X
I'm not far enough into SG for an update, but I am ready for an X update.

Pokémon X Electric Monotype Update 1: A Shocking Victory!

BADGE CASE

LOG

I began the game as Noah, the male Pokémon Trainer. After leaving home, I met up with Serena and Shauna, who told me to come to Aquacorde Town... to get a Pokémon? Sheesh, okay. I trekked across Route 1 and reached the town, where I sat down with my new rivals. For a starter, I chose Froakie to use for my every HM need. I then received a Pokédex and a letter, which I head to deliver to my mom. On my way home, Shauna challenged me to a battle. I crushed her. Period. I reached home soon, where I delivered the letter and got the Map. Returning to Route two, I met up with the gang. Serena taught us how to catch Pokémon. After that, I headed into Santalune Forest, where I began hunting for a Pikachu. Eventually, I found and captured Shokra, the female Pikachu.

Shokra the Pikachu has joined the team!

I grinded Shokra to Level 9, then exited the forest. Finally reaching Santalune City, I healed in the Pokémon Center, then headed into the Gym after beating the Roller Skater and receiving the Roller Skates. I grinded a little on the Youngsters and Lasses, then returned to the Center to heal. I also bought some Potions. After returning, I faced Viola.

VS. Gym Leader Viola

TURN 1
I lead with Shokra while Viola lead with Surskit, who made the first move with Quick Attack, however only taking 1/6 of Shokra's HP. Shokra retaliated with Thunder Shock, actually dealing over 1/2 of Surskit's HP.
TURN 2
Shokra went first with Thunder Shock, KO'ing Surskit.
TURN 3
Viola sent out Vivillion, who struck first with Tackle. leaving Shokra with a little over 1/2 HP. She used Thunder Shock again, but only dealt about 1/5.
TURN 4
Viola went first again, this time with Infestation. Shokra only had 7 HP left. Thunder Shocked the Vivillion again, this time taking 1/3 away. Shokra then took damage from Infestation.
TURN 5
I used a Potion to heal Shokra, and Vivillion used Infestation again. Between that and the end-of-turn Infestation damage, Shokra lost a whole 1/3 of her HP.
TURN 6
Vivillion went first with Infestation. My Pikachu Thunder Shocked the butterfly thing again, bringing it's HP into the red. Infestation damage did the same thing to Shokra.
TURN 7
I took a risk and commanded Shokra to use Quick Attack... only for Viola to use a Potion. Because of that, the move only just barely brought Vivillion below half.
TURN 8
While I healed, Vivillion struck with Tackle.
TURN 9
I had to heal again... curse the evil Tackle... which Vivillion used again. On the bright side, Shokra was freed from Infestation.
TURN 10
Vivillion used Tackle, and Shokra used Thunder Shock, bringing Vivillion into the red zone.
TURN 11
Survived another Tackle with just 4 HP, and then Static kicked in, paralyzing Vivillion. Shokra used Thunder Shock, knocking out Vivillion.

Gym Leader Viola was defeated! The Bug Badge has been won!

Well, I finally beat Viola! And I'm severely underleveled. I'm definitely gonna grind before the next update.

VS Xerneas
Hurricane took about a third then got confusehax he missed megahorn
psybeam took another chunk on a crit as he used gravity
he hit himself an psybeam took him down to red
threw a repeat ball for the hell of it, caught first try first ball.

VS Lysandre
Meinshao was hard but scolipede was tanking it well with iron defense, till a crit killed me. so i took a +2 hi jump kick with crustle thanks to sturdy and hit hard with strength then revived scolipede who outsped and poison tailed.
pyroar was next and i dodged a fire blast and revived crustle, that allowed me to heal crustle and then die, he avoided a rock slide so i had to use hyper potions to tank his last 2 fire blast then because he could only use hyper voice i decided to set up a shell smash and finish with rock slide
honchkrow got outsped after shell smash and OHKOd with rock slide
finally gyarados, i knew it was mega so i went straight for X-scissor, he mega evolved, i outsped, Critical Hit!, gg lysandre

Went on to route 18
Caught IronMichelle the Durant (FINALLY team completed)

VS Shauna
Durant got some EXP smashing face here, hone claws gives it an ATK boost and an accuracy boost meaning hustle is much better now so iron heads all round

I finally got around to finishing my Rock challenge, so here's the update:

Final Update, Rock Challenge on Platinum!
-made mt way to Victory Road (the wild Tentacruel were annoying)
-made it through Victory Road
-defeated my rival (who I totally forgot battles you then)
-stocked up on a ton of items

And now for the important part, the League challenge:
Spoiler:

Now, you'd think that in a Rock vs Bug match-up, Rock would easily win, right? Yeah, that wasn't really the case here. Aaron wasn't hard, but he put up more of a fight than was expected, particularly because of his Heracross and Scizor. But I was able to power through him; there's only so much he could do when I had the type advantage. Onix, who had been having trouble in battles lately, destroyed his Vespiquen, so yay Onix!

Bertha initially had me worried because she had the type advantage and uses several bulky Pokemon. Fortunately, I had a plan to beat her. After taking down Whiscash with Rampardos, I sent in Rhyperior and fed it an X Attack and an X Defend. That, coupled with its high Defense, HP, and Attack, Solid Rock, as well as Ice Punch (thank you Platinum move tutors!) and some healing items, allowed it to beat down the rest of her team. Even had a little Rhyperior vs Rhyperior showdown.

Golem Rock Polish sweep.

I must've lost to this guy like 6 times before beating him. The low Sp.Defense of Rock types doesn't help you against Psychic types, who often have high Sp.Attack. Not to mention his Gallade has Leaf Blade and his Alakazam had Energy Ball. Those 2 were what gave me the most trouble. But after losing all those times, I figured out a way to beat him. The Mr. Mime he leads with likes to set up dual screens first, so that gave me an opprotunity to use 2 X Speeds and 1 X Attack on Rampardos. Even with Reflect up, Head Smash OHKOs Mr. Mime. Then he sends out his Bronzong, thinking he can wall me with Levitate and its resistance to Rock. Didn't pan out for him. I waited until Reflect wore off (more healing items), then KO'd the floating bell with an Earthquake; Mold Breaker is so nice. I then swept the rest of his team with Rampardos. Those 2 X Speeds allowed it to outspeed all his Pokemon, and none of them could handle the glorious power of Rampardos.

I knew Cynthia would be tough, since she's the only Champion who's ever consistently given me a hard time in all my years as a Pokemon Trainer. At first, things seemed to be going pretty well, with Rampardos taking out half her team thanks to another X Speed. It was the other half that was the problem. Garchomp, Roserade, and Togekiss gave me such a hard time. So after about 4 or 5 losses, I was finally able to defeat Cynthia. What happened was this. Started with Rampardos and an X Speed again, Head Smashing Spiritomb and Milotic aside, while dropping Lucario with Earthquake. Unforutnately, the (recoil) damage was too much for Rampardos, and it fainted. To deal with Garchomp, I sent out Rhyperior. But even with its great physical bulk and Solid Rock, Garchomp's Earthquake was a 2HKO, and Ice Punch failed to OHKO. So I had to sacrifice Onix to use a Max Revive on Ryhperior, bring it back out, and finish off her Garchomp. Then she sent in Roserade, who can single handedly destroy my team because 4 of the 5 are Rock/Ground. So what did I do? Pump Probopass full of X Sp.Defends. With +4 Sp.Defense, Probes could tank all of Roserade's attacks (with healing items), giving me time to revive and heal the whole team. Then had Probes KO Roserade. It even turned out that Probopass had enough Sp.Defense to not be OHKO'd by Aura Sphere, which let me Toxic-stall Togekiss to death. Though both Probopass and Togekiss fainted at the end there.

And with that, I completed my Rock monotype challenge! Now for the team of Pokemon that bothered to stick with me on this rough challenge:
Spoiler:

-Rampardos (M), level 57
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Mold Breaker
Item: Shell Bell
Moves: Head Smash, Earthquake, Zen Headbutt, Pursuit

I love Rampardos. It was so helpful along the way because of its devastating Attack and not completely sucky Speed.

-Rhyperior (F), level 55
Nature: Naive
Ability: Solid Rock
Item: Nevermelt Ice
Moves: Stone Edge, Shadow Claw, Hammer Arm, Ice Punch

Rhyperior was such a pain in the ass to use back when I first caught it as a Rhyhorn, but when it finally evolved and started to get some good moves, it became one of the best Pokemon on the team.

-Onix (F), level 51
Nature: Quirky
Ability: Rock Head
Item: none
Moves: Rock Tomb, Double-Edge, Sandstorm, Iron Tail

Even though Onix wasn't all that useful late in the game, I still have to give it thanks because without it, I wouldn't have made it this far.

-Probopass (F), level 53
Nature: Sassy
Ability: Sturdy
Item: Hard stone
Moves: Rock Slide, Shock Wave, Toxic, Rest

Probopass is easily the MVP of the whole journey. It's high Sp.Defense and only being 2x weak to Water and neutral to Grass allowed it to handle what the rest of the team couldn't. Without Probes, I never could've beaten Gardenia or Wake, and you know what happened with Cynthia.

-Golem (M), level 55
Nature: Rash
Ability: Sturdy
Item: Quick Claw
Moves: Stone Edge, Earthquake, Rock Polish, Explosion

Last on the list, but was the first one I caught. Golem was a good member of the team.

And the 6th slot was usually occupied by an HM slave.

And so ends my very first monotype challenge (this is where it ends, right?). It had some really rough spots, but it was fun too. Even got a little attached to these guys. Will probably take them through the post-game.

Oh, and the total registered playtime came out to be exactly 37 hours.

I'll be back sometime to do another monotype run.

Pokemon X Bugmono Complete
Ultimate Bug Mono Challenge, Complete
Spoiler:

got psychic TM for butterfree
got earthquake TM for scolipede and pinsir
struggled through victory road eventually
did some serious grinding at the end of victory road (oddishlave got hordes for scolipede pinsir and crustle to wreck while the other 3 had to settle for the slower grinding off graveler and druddigon)
got to elite 4

VS Malva
this one was fairly easy ish kinda not really.
Crustle Shell Smashed on noble roar and then smashed again to get to a decent level of ATK and take a hit with sturdy then OHKO with rock slide
Torkoal met a rock slide to the face OHKO
Talonflame STILL outsped me and killed me with brave bird
foddered butterfree and vivillion reviving and healing crustle, it dodged a rock slide but i kept healing up and eventually recoil + rocky helmet was taking it down to red, she healed up giving me the chance to Rock Slide and OHKO
finally came chandelure which killed me with flamethrower, foddered pinsir reviving crustle, and then confusehax stopped me hitting rock slide then misshax stopped me hitting it again, i did hit it on a third try but it still didnt kill it and it killed me. down to scolipede and durant there was no way durant was doing it so scolipede came in, outsped, and finished with Earthquake

VS Drasna
Durant really proved to be pretty mediocre here against dragalgae even a +1 hustle Iron Head didnt ohko it and it finished me with thunderbolt and surf. leave it to pinsir to swords dance as she healed and OHKO with earthquake
next came her noivern! which proceeded to take a big chunk off the incoming crustle, i lived a hit and rock slided for decent damage then she healed and i missed rock slide, i foddered butterfree and sent pinsir in to fodder it while i healed crustle, crustle took a hit and rock slided then hit another one as she healed again then finally died. scolipede took a super fang (she has air slash and never used it once) and finished with megahorn.
vivillion set up quiver dances on altaria which couldnt do much after +3 SpA SpDef and Speed it took a hurricane quite well but a following bug buzz finished it off. druddigon was last and it somehow lived a +3 Hurricane and dragon tailed me out to scolipede which megahorned for the win.

VS Wikstrom
Pinsir got up Swords Dance on the klefki using spikes and proceeded to sweep. no really thats it. Klefki died in one hit. scizor got critted and died in one hit, probopass died in one hit, aeigslash used kings shield to annoy me but a +2 EQ later silenced it for good too.

VS Siebold
decided to give butterfree a chance here, set up some dances on clawitzer then smacked with energy ball while confused (stupid water pulse) to OHKO. hit myself on barbaracle then dodged a stone edge, hit self again this time didnt dodge and died to stone edge, vivillion hit energy ball down to the red and doged a stone edge, hit another as he healed, and a third, i knew he only had 2 full restores so i finished with bug buzz. gyarados and crustle set up dragon dance and shell smash but he sadly outsped and got a flinch with waterfall even though i lived with sturdy then killed me thankfully rocky helmet took a chunk off him. pinsir took a hit and critted with return to take a big chunk out before scolipede finished with megahorn. one final megahorn finished starmie.

VS Diantha
Not too tough tbh
Crustle took a flying press and got shell smash up, her hawlucha swords danced but a +2 Rock Slide OHKOd it, next was tyrantrum which dodged a rock slide and OHKOd back with head smash thankfully she took a fair bit of damage too from rocky helmet and recoil. Durant OHKOd with iron head then switched for Pinsir on her Goodra
got swords dance up and took fire blast well then X scissor OHKOd
from here it was all durant getting a hone claws on aurorus as she reflected i got another one up and took a thunder, healed up and doged a thunder then got another hone claws up as she light screened, got another one up and dodged thunder before reflect wore off and iron head OHKOd, X scissor OHKOd gourgeist and gardevoir mega evolved right into a +4 Hustle Boosted STAB Super Effective Iron Head to the face.

VS AZ
Crustle set up shell smash on torkoal and OHKOd with rock slide then hit rock slide on golurk before healing to take a phantom force rocky helmet did some damage to him allowing rock slide to finish it off, finally rock slide OHKOd siglyph

MVP: Crustle, narrowly beats pinsir but unlike last game where crustle kept dieing and never did anything productive, THIS time it tanked hits like no tomorrow and handled my fire and flying weaknesses very well plus it was a decent sweeper late game too.
LVP: Butterfree, i was going to say Durant or Vivillon but durant proved herself against Wulfric and Diantha even if she didnt do much else and Vivillion overall had better stats, learned good moves like bug buzz much earlier and learned better offensive moves like hurricane to complement quiver dance. butterfree was just too fragile and when it did get a few boosts up sometimes it didnt even OHKO and i was like "WHAT!?".

Hall Of Fame Pic
(note your pokemon rotate around you in X/Y rather than a panoramic picture like past games so i only got 2 in the shot also i apologise for the quality but you try taking a decent picture with a DSi when your phone is out of battery)

The Ultimate Bug Monotype Challenge: Silberne Edition HeartGold Version
8/16

Team Rocket wasn't too bad, though the Admins did give me a lot of trouble. Archer in particular with his Houndoom was REALLY hard. Actually took me 2 tries.

Ice Path was extremely easy, I mean there's like no trainers there.

Blackthorn Gym. What can I say? I was very underleveled. The gym took some heavy pushing, but damn, Clair was a real PAIN. But after 3 tries I managed to beat her. Went to the Dragon's Den because Clair is a worse loser than Whitney, and I got my badge like I deserved. Next time will likely be E4. And I can't wait to be in Kanto again.

Results are in, and roughly 2/3 of the voters wanted Mega Evolution to be allowed in the Monotype Challenge. I said I would leave it up to you guys and I am a man of my word, so as of today, Mega Evolutions are officially allowed. Please read the rules for the current conditions with which a Mega Evolution can be used in the challenge.

Recieved Surf after saving a Kimono Girl
Arrived in Olivine, climbed the lighthouse, met Jasmine
Surfed off to Cianwood
Challenged Cianwood Gym. Friggin Hypnosis kept hitting every time, but we still won. Obtained the Storm Badge.

Challenged Jasmine. Much easier than Chuck; Brian (Quagsire) just Mud Bombed everything. Obtained Mineral Badge.

Obtained Shellder (New Bark Town), named Mary.
Arrived in Mahogany Town.
Went to the Lake of Rage, caught the Red Gyarados (named it Jack)
Took a visit to the totally not suspicious souvenir shop and beat up some Rocket people with the help of Lance
Challenged Mahogany Gym, took on Pryce. Easy enough, especially with Metal Claw on Dave (Kingler).
Dashed off to the Whirl Islands and caught myself a Horsea, named Samantha

Ultimate Water Challenge, Platinum part 4
Victory Road and the Pokemon League

Spoiler:

Finally obtained Waterfall at long last
Challenged Victory Road; it took a long time and we had many KOs but eventually made it through; team was around L.52 by the end.
Battled Rival one last time. I do like his battle music.
Level-grinded a bit in Victory Road until everybody hit L60

My Team:
Bering (Empoleon)- Surf, Flash Cannon, Ice Beam, Stealth Rock
Frank (Bibarel)- Return, Waterfall, Grass Knot, Superpower
Misty (Golduck)- Waterfall, Psychic, Shadow Claw, Aerial Ace
Jessica (Floatzel)- Waterfall, Crunch, Ice Punch, Brick Break
Maury (Gastrodon)- Surf, Earthquake, Sludge Bomb, Recover
Megumi (Octillery)- Surf, Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Signal Beam

ELITE FOUR

Aaron: Bering sets up Stealth Rocks on Yanmega, then Ice Beams. Heracross goes down to a few Psychics, Ice Punch KOs Vespiquen, Earthquake KOs Drapion, and Scizor falls to Flamethrower.

Bertha: Frank leads with Grass Knot on Whiscash, then we suuuuuuuuurf

Flint: Bering Stealth Rocks on Houndoom, Houndoom uses Sunny Day. Flamethrower nearly KOs Bering but Houndoom falls to Surf. Infernape begins Flare Blitzing Maury but even with the sun barely even takes half his health. Maury recovers until the sun goes away, surfs, and recovers some more until recoil KOs Infernape. For the rest, suuuuuuuuurf

Lucian: Mr. Mime gets up Reflect before Maury can KO it. Not ideal. Next out is Alakazam. Jessica Brick breaks to get rid of Reflect, Energy Ball puts Jessica into red health, Crunch finishes Alakazam off. Next is Gallade. Shadow Claw 2HKOs it, but Misty takes a lot of damage from Leaf Blade. Flamethrower 2HKOs Bronzong. I risk sending Misty against Espeon. Shadow claw is not enough to KO, so I send in Jessica and Crunch while it heals. All in all, not a fun fight.

VS Cynthia
I lead with Bering and Stealth Rock on Spiritomb. Its dark pulse does next to nothing, and Surf 2HKOes it. I send in Jessica next. Garchomp is 1HKOed by Ice Punch, so is Roserade. Ice punch gets Togekiss down into the red and scores a lucky Freeze. Cynthia heals next turn; after that Ice Punch 2HKOes it. Lucario falls to a lucky critical Brick Break, Milotic is 2HKOed by Crunch, and with that we have swept Cynthia's team!

One more game done. Three to go.

Steel Monotype - Y

Whoops. I forgot completely to update. Well, I'm actually 7 badges in so it's probably just as well. I've had trouble training Klefki, Doublade, and Pawniard. Klefki isn't that strong, Doublade's Special Defense is bad and that Steel not-resisting ghost anymore is hurting, and Pawniard was lame until she evolved. Lucario's attack power and mixed attacker status is saving my team's behind. Not looking forward to Lucario not OHKOing, since Lucario's defenses are also crappy. Where's that stupid Dusk Stone? Bleh!
