I'm a 2010 member here, but I feel more like a 2013 member, because that was when I became really active as a member of the community here. I immediately joined when I first found PC, so I've never known about it prior.

Have you ever left PC for any real amount of time aside from a week off or whatnot? If no then... wow. Haha. I feel like I've been here forever and I'm really not that old at all.
Nooooope, lmao. There have been several times where I've backed off and been scarce for periods of time, but I've never actually left PC for any length of time more than a week or so. I've never DLoAed either.

I joined originally in 2006 so that's a long while ago! It'll be 8 years once October 2014 rolls around. Goodness how fast time flies. @[email protected];

2008 here! It's been almost six years since I've joined, oh god that's long. However, I was a very on-and-off user. Just like Timbjerr, I would have long strings of inactivity, hopefully I've rectified those periods of inactivity over these past months.

Just checked my old account, you locked some of my threads in 2005. I remember now, I was really immature in 2005 so I had a tendacy to create dumb/meaningless threads that makes no sense at the time. Not doing that now as a 19 years old.

Time really does fly, college was something far away in 2005, but now I'm a college student. Good to see at least one person I met in 2005.

I've been a member since 2009 and clearly I haven't been fully active throughout that time. I've had long periods of inactivity over the years... I'd like that to change but it keeps happening anyway. I'll try my best to stay this time!

Is there anyone on this site these days who are active since 2005 or earlier? I was member here since 2005 and would like to see them again. Kinda miss the days.
Right here ;3~ My 10 year PC-Anniversary will probably come up faster than I will ever expect! There are lot of friends that I've met on here that have moved on. Some I still keep in touch with and out of those, many are doing really well so it's very happy to see!! :3 This site can sometimes be a bit drama-y but it's also very positive otherwise and a nice place to come and relax and browse on so it weighs out~ :3

It seems like the pic on my old profile expired. Not sure, but do you remember the official Misty Club or the user Misty Lover 17?
Yoooo I remember the Misty Club. Well, the biggest one. Wasn't that Kaga and Tattsu's thing?

But I've been here on-and-off since I joined in July 2004. I think I checked in maybe twice a year from like mid-2007 to mid-2010 but otherwise was pretty active! PC's always been my internet home so yeah. Gonna be ten years this year oh boy.

I didn't even know PC existed back in 2005, but if I did though , I would of joined back then instead of in 2012 like I did. I always wonder what it was like back then . The community always seemed like it was nice, but I'm always hearing it was much different back then and that PC's community between 2005-2008 was it's best time. Though of course the Pokemon fandom has changed a lot too since 2005 too. My 2 year anniversary is coming up in a few weeks (February 23). It's scary how fast time flies and it feels like 2012 was just yesterday.

There were many more members on Pokémon community then now, and I mean a lot more. 2005 was the best time in PC, I don't know after 2006, since I left in March of that year. Many friendly people, but I was called odd because some of my English don't make sense back then. Also it was a lot more fun back then too. If I remembered correctly, the majority of the members on Pokémon Community at the time was either teenagers or pre-teens. Not many members above 17 in 2005, but average age range was 11-17 years old. I only knew one person in 2005 that was in their 20's out of the many members I talked with. Another thing is 2005 was the first time I was in a forum in my life. Internet was a new thing for me at the time.

Things changed a lot, I'm seeing a lot of newer members that are in their 20's and many new members above 18. We 2005 people or earlier were pre-teens/teens back teen are obviously now adults, so the average age range here seems to be higher now.

Anna:

About the Misty Club, I was in during 2005. I remembered being greeted and talked with Misty Lover 17. Yes it was biggest one on the forum with like almost 1000 pages. Good memories. Also posting pictures on forums was harder back then than now.

Not only Morkula, but also various moderators locked some of my threads. Reading my old threads today, it is soo funny and laughable. I can understand why they are locked.

I've got an account on another forum that I lurk that I signed up for in 2005, but I didn't find my way to PC until January 2008. Even then, I only lurked for a few years, signed up again at the end of 2009, and didn't become completely active until some point in 2012.

Still, it's strange to see how much PC has changed in these last 6 years, but very much remained the same.

It's actually the most terrifying username ever, haha. I was so intimidated when I joined. d:

Wow I really didn't know that. I can get how the age difference really changes things since we all mature both off and online as we get older. This maybe also because the internet has changed since then too. It seems it was a lot funner back then and since it was still a fairly new thing but starting to get old, not a lot of people knew how to speak online. Just a theory haha. Though I don't think getting older means not having fun. People of all ages should have fun. Being in your 20s doesn't mean you're no longer a fun person either, just mean you're more mature and your idea of fun may be different.

Maybe it's also cause of how much Pokemon has changed since then. There's more topics on old Pokemon vs new Pokemon. There's more people who think the new Pokemon is stupid and that the old games are better. There's also more people who think all Pokemon games are awesome (me included but I don't want to start an argument here if someone thinks otherwise. Not the place for that.) Just random thoughts though.

I think that the overall friendliness on here is still about the same though.

I think because maybe those days many members used to be online a lot but now many have left PC!
This is an obvious assumption, but definitely true. As people get older, they have more responsibilities and may no longer have time for forums like PC. People got jobs, went to college, and some may even got married and had kids and can't have time to be on the internet as much.

You are spot on in your theories and they are correct. I used to be a fan of Pokemon in 2005, which was why I joined. Now, I no longer a fan, but I returned just to talk about random things. It appears as newer Pokemon is worse than before. This might be why the population in PC is lower.

I never said anything about 20s not having fun. Many 20's people are having lots of fun. Since I'm fun loving I will always be happy person and obviously grow in maturity.

I remember having to copy down the entire picture URL on paper and then type it just to put post in on the forum or as my avatar. Now it's just the browse button. Internet definitely much simpler and easier.

Wow really? That's insane. I was involved in a few forums in 2005, but I don't remember if I ever had to do that, but I think I did. Probably haha. I remember having to write urls and password codes and other codes on sites down all the time.

While I personally like both new and old Pokemon (again not gonna start an argument on here, not the right section) , I definitely notice more fans who don't like newer Pokemon but also more fans who do love the newer Pokemon and there's really a big gen war going on between fans hahaha. Some people left cause they don't have an interest in Pokemon anymore or can't stand the newer Pokemon game as much.

Probably because you have better computer in 2005. I have Windows 97 at the time and I lack computer knowledge so that's why everything for me is by hand at the time. Passwords I don't write because I usually remembered them all. For me, I never used computers as much in my life befor 2005. So 2005 was very big change for me, and was explosive change. First time for online games, chat, making websites, and many things online.

Remembered that my favorite pokemon back then was Dark Ho Ho.

I've been around for 9 years, buuut it doesn't seem like that long ago. I guess it has been three or so years since I've been on staff. I forget whether I left in 2011 or 2012.. those years blur together. xD;

There aren't nearly as many of the older members that are around as I would like there to be. I miss a lot of the people that aren't around now days.

I think he's mainly joking around. But it's still his fault why the Golden Age of PC ended. <3
