@Watchman - Personally I think you'd be better of with either just crests or just bio-merging (or what was the one with the like armour stuff... or was that bio-merging?). I didn't really follow digimon further than adventures.

I think that the biggest thing, will be being careful with your mechanics and remembering that you need to try and make it accessible to those without much knowledge of the series without it becoming boring to those who know it or spouting too much information.

The fix to the story was good though.
Bio-merging was where the Tamers and Digimon merged to reach their mega/final form, which in this case, goes perfectly well with crests in more ways than one. I do have a mechanics section worked out where the multiple forms of digivolution and digivices are explained. I am also currently writing up a section on the world's mechanics as well as a little blurb over combat.

@Watchman - I'd like to see the mechanics section if that's okay with you, it would be easier to critique that way.

intro
---

In 2016, the world has evolved. Gone are the days where buttons are pressed to play videogames; rather a new system has been adopted: the [Bio]Gauntlet. This device, created by the company known as Skaianet, uses your hand to upload your conscience into the BioNetwork, a system of games on a server that has never been located- and it appears in-game on one’s hand, accessing a menu as well as what is deemed as your statistics and vital signs and such. MMOs, especially those inspired by the anime Sword Art Online- specifically a spin off, Sword Art Online: Sanctuary- have been extremely popular. However, there are a lot of people noting that Skaianet has not created a game, instead incorporating third parties to create them.

Trust me; this is all about to change.

project: HOME
---

Skaianet has been rapidly pulling out all the stops to successfully advertise what they’re marketing as “the most revolutionary game ever.” There has been speculation; some of the most interested people have searched and searched and finally deemed it it’s own MMO, but others have doubts. The strangest part is that hackers and news outlets alike have agreed with Skaianet not to agree the information they find, and have left Skaianet to reveal each piece as they go along. However, regardless of what hackers find, or what news outlets find, it won’t make sense to them.

In April 2016, Skaianet finally revealed a small tidbit; a name for the project. It was known to the public as Project: HOME, and more press details were released. It was confirmed that it, in fact, was a MMORPG, but it was apparently like none anyone has seen before. The following month [May 2016], more details were revealed as well as the July 2016 release. It was now released and marketed as “the HOME system.”

The main detail was the most interesting, as to be noted: all players would live in a “HOME” together, whereas each player had a room- somehow matching their room in the real world- and a separate bathroom. All other rooms- the kitchen, the loft, the attic, the living room- those would all be shared. This wasn’t a big brother type game, though- no one was watching you. Everyone would be allowed to do as they pleased, take quests with each other, quarrel, and the like. Quests? Why, yes, this is an RPG; it was revealed that randomized groups of people would be put together in all of these homes, but it is marketed as being decided by “your inherited fate.”

HOMEs were also revealed to be treated similar to- but not limited to- guilds. Each HOME unit was recognized as it’s own association; more than one HOME unit could take on bosses, but they could also battle and trade resources. However, individual players are also recognized. Each individual player can access their own inventory, equip their own items and wear a variety of clothes, interact with players outside of their respective HOMEs, as well as battle those within their HOMEs. The creators say it should be more in the sense that each player has to coexist with others- almost in a parallel world... with monsters and RPG stuff involved- that they should learn to be and fight together “for a brighter future.” Whatever that means, anyways.

you
---

You are an average teenager, and there’s nothing really happening in your life. You do, however, seem to find yourself in a position where Skaianet has chosen you- for some reason- along with 2000 other players to test it’s beta. Fast-forward to June 2016. Skaianet has announced an unexpected delay on the same time you are sent the beta; the game will now be released September 2016. This doesn’t matter to you, obviously; you’re testing it anyways. As the mail carrier knocks on your door and groans “UPS,” or “USPS,” or “STFU” or whatever the name of your respective mail carrier is [mind you, it cannot be STFU], you go up and open the door, receiving the package.

When you open it up, to your surprise, it has it’s own [Bio]Gauntlet. Well, whatever, you know what to do. All that’s left is to slip the gauntlet on, close your eyes, and let the game begin...

...the game that will become your life.

title
---

Your class in the HOME system is arguably different from classes you’ll receive from other games; combined with an aspect [think, an element] you have a title. For example, a Knight of Blaze. These are not chosen by the player, another major difference. However, since you all are playing the players, obviously, you can choose. So...

Here are the available classes. Note that they all are paired; these are active/passive pairs. Active means the class is used for one’s personal gain, and passive means the class is used to aid others. Note that the class and aspect you choose will affect the general choices your character makes as well as their personality. X = Aspect

PAGE/HEIR Becomes X./Inherits X.

MAID/KNIGHT Becomes or assists with X./Protects or protects others with X.

SYLPH/SEER Heals or heals with X./Knows X.

WITCH/MAGE Manipulates X./Understands X.

THIEF/ROGUE Steals X to benefit self./ Steals X to benefit others.

PRINCE/BARD Destroys X or destroys with X./Invites or allows destruction through X.

The aspects are all the “Xs” in the previous set of lines involving classes; the purpose behind these is well, generally self-explanatory. Some aspects usually have a personality trait attached; however, it is not necessary to have one regardless.

TIME- A main component of any universe, they are capable of not only time-travel but various powers related to time. There are in fact players of time that can reverse or speed up the flow of time. Of course, the power varies with your aspect. Only exceptional SUs will be accepted with this aspect.

SPACE- Another main component of any universe. Heroes of Space are capable of manipulating dimensions and measurements, as well as the direction of vectors [velocity, force, etc.]. They tend to be very important to a HOME. Both heroes of Space and Time can influence the power of a HOME’s influence over others. Once again, only exceptional SUs are accepted with this aspect.

BREATH- Breath is practically air, or wind. Heroes of Breath are regarded for their powers in sense of manipulating the air around them. In fact, there are people who say the best way to visualize breath is to imagine all of the air around you. Now imagine it trying to kill you.

FLAME- The obvious thing this aspect is, well, is conjuring and using fire. However, deeper in this aspect, one can find that they are able to use passion, or the manipulation of it in their powers. Heroes of Flame tend to be overly excited and very into what they do, as well as a bit rash.

SEA- A Hero of Sea is able to use, conjure, and manipulate water in such a way as to use it to their advantage. These players are usually calm and collected, and it’s hard to get them mad.

EARTH- A Hero of Earth is able to manipulate and use rocks, dirt, magma, and the like in the lands around them. The big thing that sets Earth apart is that they cannot “create” land; however, anything that comes from the land- rocks and to some extent metals- can be used to their advantage. They are usually solid and adamant.

ELECTRICITY- A Hero of Electricity is able to use, conjure, and manipulate electronic devices and gains an aptitude- regardless of whether they once had it- in technology. Heroes of Electricity are usually erratic and cheerful.

RHYTHM- A Hero of Rhythm uses sounds and tempo in their arsenal; they can manipulate and conjure sound. Their music can be used for many things, and depending on their class they can pick out rhythms in the world and such and use them to influence emotions. Heroes of Rhythm are usually jovial.

LOCKS- A Hero of Locks can both bring out the secrets and things to discover in the world as well as hide them to everyone else. This power can be used in many ways, and these Heroes usually have to be creative to use the aspect in a fight. They tend to be resourceful to cope with such.

WEALTH- A Hero of Wealth can control both luck as well as the amount of value things have in others eyes. These players tend to be very lucky, but weak. They can easily manipulate emotions to increase or decrease something’s value, and they are great in business and negotiations.

THE FORGE- A Hero of the Forge has control over weaponry; they have complete control over weapons and can create them out of thin air. They can use any weapon, but are more prone to be manipulated emotionally and mentally- in most cases.

CUSTOM ASPECT- An aspect of your choice! It doesn’t matter what, as long as you can explain it, I will add it in for you. Please try to not make it overpowered or a subdivision of another aspect, and keep in mind that by making a custom aspect this does not necessarily mean another cannot use it. Use the ones here as a model.

rules
---

1. All PC and RPC rules apply.
2. Your characters can swear, but not regularly. They’re teens, but c’mon.
3. No godmodding, bunnying, powerplaying, etc.
4. The code is presenting me with a picture or .gif that includes either Dr. Pepper, Sprite, or cookies. In spoiler tags. No exceptions.
5. Questions? That’s what I’m here for.
6. As you may already know, this is based on and serves as a prequel to Homestuck- however you do not have to read, know, or understand Homestuck to join this RP.

IC-revealed or IC-specific rules
---

There are two rule sections. Why? Because this list will be updated as the IC progresses. So far, there is only one rule here, but once you learn about the game and that jazz this will begin to expand.

7. Your attacks/powers will not be able to affect others in your HOME; the only circumstances will be dealt with eventually IC-ly. However, you can affect those outside of your HOME.

terms
---

HOME- a unit within the HOME system. These units are tasked to work together as to complete the game.

Skaianet- the company which created the HOME system and the [Bio]Gauntlet. Very hush-hush; even hackers do not spill their secrets.

[Bio]Gauntlet- A high-tech gadget placed on one’s hand, connected to a computer. Used to access the network the HOME system is played on. An iron gauntlet. Shows up in-game as well, but is quoted as feeling like a “second skin,” and has blue lines streaking all over it. Has a small button that can be used to access the menu.

Menu- A menu loaded with a few options. For now, most will be inaccessible to the player. These are SYLLADEX, SPECIBUS, PESTERCHUM, OPTIONS, RETURN HOME, and LOG OUT respectively.

pesterChum- Like HOME, not an acronym. A chat client that is used in the outside world and was bought by Skaianet; now used in-game. It’s so popular you should forget about not having one.

Hero- another term for a “player” in the HOME system.

Jurassic Island

--- the STORY ---

It all started as just a regular trip, you boarded a plane in Miami bound for Rio in Brazil at four in the afternoon for whatever your reasons. For four hours, half of the trip, everything was uneventful. During the first four hours of the flight stewards and stewardesses travelled up the isles with carts, the captain’s voice was rarely heard over the intercom, infants cried and passengers tried to distract themselves from the boredom of the flight. Then all hell broke loose.
Air masks fell from the roof of the plane, intense turbulence began to rack the aircraft and the captains voice could be barely distinguished over the rattling of the baggage and windows;
“Attention passengers, our engines are beginning to fail and the cabin has become depressurised. Please cover your mouths with the oxygen masks, assume one of the crash positions demonstrated earlier and prepare for an emergency landing.”
There had been a brief moment of silence, a break from the chaos before the true panic set in. People in the isles rushed to their seats, masks were fastened and just as the last few passengers and crew began to settle into crash positions a grinding noise was heard and the plane began to plummet. There was a dizzying whirl of motion, G-forces wrenched on bodies and then there was the impact. Glass went everywhere, the plane was destroyed and bodies were crushed, impaled, battered and broken. You, like the others aboard the aircraft, would be lost in a state of shock and/or dizziness or simply blacked out. When you eventually came to it would be to a loud noise, almost as if gigantic creatures were taking steps nearby...
You will have survived one disaster, only to have stepped into an even worse hell. There is no communications equipment in working order, the plane is all but completely destroyed, many of the passengers are injured or dead as are most of the crew… and you have unknowingly just crash landed on an island inhabited by dinosaurs. Throughout this RP, you and your fellow survivors will be forced to deal with the challenges of surviving on this island – struggling against thirst, hunger, the elements, the environment, assorted dramas and of course the dinosaurs. To survive until you’re discovered, if you’re discovered, you will need to unravel the mysteries of the island and adapt to living in an environment where you are no longer at the top of the food chain – but sitting close to the bottom.

--- the GAMEPLAY ---

This RP will be broken up into chapters. Each chapter will work towards a goal of some description incorporating a mix of sandbox RPing and linear plot following the various conflicts and dramas created by this situation and the gradual unravelling of the mysteries of the island.

☢Intro

Two hundred years ago, in 80 BI (Before Impact), astronomers discovered a large meteor set to collide with the Earth. Humanity, unable to escape the seemingly doomed planet nor able to destroy the gigantic rock from space began hurriedly searching for a way to ensure the survival of the human race. It took many months but eventually a method was found - humanity began to move underground, constructing sub-terranian systems in large caverns both discovered and excavated.

In Year Zero, eighty years after the discovery of the projectile heading for Earth, these cities were all but completed and much of the human race had already moved below ground. It was this year that the meteor hit - turning the majority of the surface into a dusty, hellish wasteland where sunlight was rarely seen and eliminating all of those still found above the ground. The majority of the human race had been wiped out by the impact and the disasters that followed, but humanity had managed to survive.

It was two-and-a-half years later, in 2 PI (Post Impact), that the Gifted began to appear. The meteor and the fragments it spread throughout the globe produced a strange and previously unknown radiation with the power to alter the biology of many living things and whilst this radiation made it impossible for humans to return to the surface, the small amounts that seeped underground had a different result - some humans began developing amazing superpowers or gifts.

These people, who came to be known as Gifted soon came to be feared and the International Council (the highest governing body in the world), terrified that they would lose power or even be overthrown by these people possessing abilities beyond normal humans placed strict, oppressive laws over the Gifted. These new laws required all Gifted to register themselves as such and to be placed under strict supervision involving tests, interviews and investigations. Furthermore, the actual use of abilities without dire need or express permission from the government was forbidden. Naturally, despising the fear and prejudice against them many Gifted rebelled, refusing to obey such laws just to satisfy the power lust of the government - these Gifted known generally as the Unregistered became forced to live in the seedy underworlds of their sub-terranian homes, living amongst true criminals in poverty constantly avoiding capture by the military.

It is now one hundred and eighteen years after the emergence of the first Gifted and little has changed. Unregistered still refuse to submit to the oppression of the government, constantly struggling to evade those seeking to capture or kill them - but things could change soon. The wraiths have appeared. Little is known about the wraiths, all that is really known is that they are seemingly supernatural creatures that seek to do nothing but destroy. Could these creatures have something to do with the Unregistered? Are they another product of the radiation permeating the Earth? Or is there something else behind the sudden appearance of these creatures?

You will play as an Unregistered struggling to survive in the criminal and corrupt underworld of Heliopolis an underground city in Europe. You will face not only the military who seek to capture or, if deemed necessary, kill Unregistered Gifted as well as the emergence of the dangerous beings known as wraiths. Throughout the storylline you will be forced to fight for your life whilst gradually uncovering the many secrets of the unjust world you live in and the origins of the wraiths that are wreaking havoc against the human race.

☣The Gifted

The radiation produced by the meteor and its fragments has reached throughout the enitrety of the Earth and whilst it is too strong for the human body handle in large amounts - preventing humans from returning to the surface for extended periods of time, the small amounts of radiation that have reached underground are only strong enough that some of those below the ground have been altered slightly, giving them seemingly supernatural gifts.

The types of abilities developed and how powerful they are vary wildly, with some Gifted being quite unremarkable with abilities as mild as slightly enhanced senses whilst there are other Gifted with incredibly powerful and dangerous abilities - there's even a woman known to be able to trigger explosions with her mind. Regardless of a Gifted's ability however, they all face the same fear and prejudice being forced to choose between succumbing to the oppression of the government or living a life of poverty in the crime-ridden underworlds of the underground cities. There are three categories of Gifted:
  • Registered - Those who succumbed to the oppression and prejudice against them. They live as normal citizens for the most part having use of their abilities forbidden in all but the most dire of circumstances and agreeing to live with constant interviews and investigations.
  • Unregistered - The Gifted living in the underworlds of their cities surrounded by crime and deceit. They actively use their abilities (meaning they are generally more honed than a Registered) and must constantly be on the lookout to avoid detection or capture. Unregistereds who are discovered will be captured and imprisoned and if they attempt to flee or resist capture lethal force is authorised.
  • Employed - Despised amongst the Unregistered and even a hearty majority of Registered these are Gifted actively working under the government. They are generally tasked with hunting unregistereds although some also find themselves dealing with registered also. In exchange for their services they are allowed to use their abilities when on the job, in the underworld areas of the city or alone. The existence of employed is generally concealed however there are many in the lowest rungs of society who are aware of their existence and of course the government and other select people of influence know about them.

☠The Wraiths

The wraiths have been described as living shadows. They are somewhat humanoid in appearance, although there are differences in their appearances with some looking more monstrous than others and they truly do seem to be animated shadows of sorts.

The wraiths possess the ability to shift between two forms – tangible and intangible. A tangible wraith is one that can physically interact with the world and be interacted with. This is the form in which they move around in the world like any other creature, capable of attacking and being attacked. A tangible wraith is physical stronger than a human being, being strong enough to tear open a truck with their claws or punch a deep dent into concrete and are also somewhat faster and more agile, being able to outrun the average person and easily able to leap from object to object. Despite these physical strengths however, tangible wraiths have a number of weaknesses also. Wraiths may be physically more gifted than human beings but they are also much more fragile, dissipating quickly when their bodies sustain enough damage and they don’t have the ability to attack from a distance. When intangible wraiths cannot touch or be touched, they appear on the surface of things like a shadow would and can travel that way able to move stealthily and far faster than when tangible. Wraiths can shift between being tangible and intangible quite quickly and although no more intelligent than some of the smarter hunting animals they attack in swarms so are very dangerous. At this stage in time, it appears as though wraiths are completely self-reliant, needing no food or other energy source to function, it is unknown whether they are actually living creatures or not.

❧Glossary

Nakuzami/Gimme, I just read the thingie you posted, and my first thought was 'The title is kinda hard to see'. My second thought was 'Holy crap, I'm going to join this as soon as it's up'.

I like that you're taking a thing that's been done, with superpowers and such, giving it an X-men sorta feel to it, and finally putting it underground of all places. I think the setting seems very interesting, and the wraiths are very mysterious. Please post it in the OOC so I can sign up right away! :D

Naku, that sounds amazing! But what Basty said, I agree with. It's a bit tedious to read. You should change the backgroudn for the white text to simply black, imo, if you want to keep the stone background for the overall post.

Right, so I've decided to delve into the RP world here at PC. So far all the RP's look amazing.
You mean in design or in how they are run and played? :3 (also if you want to chitchat, I think the Roleplay Discussion Thread over in the main section is a better bet, since this is for feedback on ideas and posts!)

OK - not an extract from me but a couple of questions.

A few people have asked about Gilded Halls making a return, revisiting an x-men-esque school for the gifted - one problem I have is how to actually run it. The school environment lends itself to a sandbox RP, with mere signposts on what to do/where. Last time I ran it however, I tried to add a story, on top of that, focusing on the teachers/school itself rather than the characters.

So my question: which do you think would work better? Should I drop the story element incase it's distracting? Or maybe I should big it up and make it more important.

Any feedback would be great, I'll post a link to GH here once I'm off my phone so people who weren't around last time can help too. ><

If you're after a high volume of RPers, drop the story, it'll make it easier for newcommers to join in. On the other hand, if you're after a small number, push the story aspect more. For most school-based RPs (looking at Youkai, Pkmn Trainer and previous ones) it tends to run better with a more overarching and less intense story.

A story is more likely to keep people interested, but more likely to deter new people joining. Less of a story and people can move freely, but without certain direction, things can either spiral out of control and derail or become stagnant. But there are less things happening so people are more likely to come and go.

Choose your poison, so to speak.

I see Glided Halls to be a free-running roleplay with the players creating their own plots using the setting you've given to them. I'd drop the story. It'll allow a bit more freedom for the roleplayers to develop their characters, just like how it was done in the past.

Ok so i don't have a RP up yet, but im thinking on creating one. I'm thinking of creating a .//hacksign role play for The World R:3 and it would be more of an open RP to allow players to do what ever it is their character wants to do in "The World". I'm looking for another mind to brain-storm up some ideas with me and kind of be co-creators of this RP. Any one interested?

Alright, so, Swifty and I were talking about an idea for an RP. We're not planning on GM'ing it, but I'm throwing the idea out there, so that if anyone finds that it's an interesting idea, they can create it. Because holy ♥♥♥♥, I want this RP so badly XD

So basically, it's a Final Fantasy X RP. If you haven't played the game, here's a basic summary of what it's about:

A great evil is terrorizing the world, destroying villages, murdering and what have you all across the world. No conventional weapons can destroy this massive beast, so it's up to someone called a Summoner to journey through the lands, visit the various religious temples, pray at each one of them and finally, recieve the Final Summon, which will be able to destroy the big-bad. The summoner is helped on his/her way with the aid of Guardians, basically being bodyguards, protecting the summoner, that he/she picks. It can be anything from sword-wielders to magic-wielders to fist-fighters, etcetera.

And that's basically what the RP's plot would be. One player would be a summoner, and the rest of them, the summoner's guardians. They travel through the lands and get into all sorts of hi-jinks. That said, there are a -ton- of classes you'd be able to choose from, as a player, and Swifty and I would be able to give whoever decided to GM this so, so much help with this, which I, at least, would be overjoyed to help with, should this interest you.

Basically, it would be an RPG RP, semi-sandboxy, with an overarching plot, lots of different classes and weapons to pick from, and a very interesting, diverse world to travel through.

Thoughts/ideas about this? If anyone's interested in making this RP an actuality, I'd be happy to give them my help :3 For now though, Bastian out!

Guys...I'm going through with a roleplay. "What roleplay are you thinking about, <Challenger>?" You may ask. Well, I am thinking....

Space Dandy.

Yes, this anime is sporadic, awkward, random, and it lacks a general plot, but I still think a roleplay for it would be very fun, and has the potential to delve into a legitimate storyline. I think that, with help, I would be able to pull it off and develop a functioning roleplay complete with action, love, adventure, and Boobies. Who's in?

I've never heard about it before, but I can imagine that anything can be turned into a RP if you plan out a plot and give enough background information to the players for them to be able to create believable and enjoyable characters.

I'm thinking of making a Fire Emblem RP, one set in it's own world. Not too many details yet besides that almost all (if not absolutely all) classes from all FE titles may make appearances/be available and two non-GM players will be allowed to be Lords. More details coming tomorrow when I've ironed out more thoughts into a presentable thingamajigger, just leaving this here tonight to see if there's any basic interest or ideas.
"Ever looking forward, ever thinking back. Everywhere you've been, everyone you've met was another step on your path, shaping your future even as they become part of your past. One must never discount the pieces that have made up your journey until now but to lose yourself in them would be equally great folly, instead let them hoist you up, carry you on until you find the strength to walk for yourself. So it is that I continue towards that endless horizon. Ever thinking back, ever marching forward, inexorable as the history that brought me down this road. This Lonesome Road."

Hey there! Some of you may remember me; it's been a reeeaaally long time since I got the itch to come back to these forums for some fun-time RPing. (Weird new format, huh?)

Anyways, I've had this idea for a RP based on a manhwa that I really enjoy, although I figure I should check whether people are familiar and/or interested in doing something related to this before I devote a bunch of time into an RP that may not work out; so without further ado: (click the spoiler tag)

:D

Spoiler:
The answer is always at the top; that is the only thing I can tell you.

Money, glory, absolute power; if you seek abilities and answers which are like magic, head to the top.

All of the universe's wisdom, glory and happiness has been placed on top of this tower.

However, climbing this tower is a long, dangerous and difficult journey… child.

So, to see whether or not you have what it takes to climb the tower, shall we begin your test?

PS: If you've never heard of this, or read it, I reeaally, reeaally recommend you do; it's GREAT!

@ drunk, welcome back! Haven't seen you in ages (RHCP here).

That looks pretty cool actually. Tower of God? Maybe I'll check it out, sounds like a good thing to make a RP out of.

@Drunk- I think it's obvious to any fan of the series that I've heard of it [*cough cough Hatsu avatar cough cough*], so I'll just skip that.

I would definitely be interested! I was brainstorming one myself, but I decided against it for personal reasons. There was a few problems I came across though, mostly being the scope.
  • Are you going to have them climb all the floors of the tower, or only some?
  • How close to canon are you keeping it?
  • How are you going to make up with things that aren't mentioned in the manhwa?
I'm not saying you have to answer that now [or at all] but generally those are the things I ended up having as stumbling blocks.

agagaga either way I say keep pushing on, I'm 100% on-board with joining if you make it.

@Drunk: I kinda have the same concerns that DLMuerte mentioned. How ToG skips multiple floors in the story seems like it could be problematic, since you would have to build everything in between from the ground up. There's also the complex mechanics of shinsoo manipulation. Overall, I would love for an RP about ToG, to be made, but I wonder how practical it could be. If you end of going forward with it, I'll be sure to make an SU.

@Doctor: Whoa! At first I was like "wtf? who is this?!?!" :P
Glad to see you're still here! :D

As for Colony and DLMuerte's questions:

  • Are you going to have them climb all the floors of the tower, or only some?
  • How close to canon are you keeping it?
  • How are you going to make up with things that aren't mentioned in the manhwa?
There's also the complex mechanics of shinsoo manipulation. Overall, I would love for an RP about ToG, to be made, but I wonder how practical it could be.
  1. Absolutely NOT going to have people climb every floor individually in the tower; there's WAAAAY too many of them for that to be even close to practical without making the RP super-rushed and simple.
  2. Not sure how close to canon I want to go, there's a lot of very interesting characters that I would love to make use of, and since we will all be RPing as regular regulars I will probably try to make a story parallel to that of the canon… who knows, maybe we want to take down FUG? ;)
  3. Adding things that aren't in the manhwa is probably what I'm looking forward to the most! We definitely will be skipping some of the floors we see the gang go through, staying longer in some of the ones we only get a glimpse of, and completely making new ones from scratch!!! :D
  4. As for shinsoo manipulation, I agree that it'll be hard to come up with something foolproof, so I think I may just try to make up a VERY simple stat system to determine a character's ability to control shinsoo; one stat to control the number of points of focus you can manipulate, one to determine how much shinshoo you can manipulate, and one to determine shape??
Honestly, if anyone has an idea to make this work, or some way easier to implement shinsoo manipulation, I'd appreciate it A LOT, since this part is kind of imperative… :D

So yeah… definitely nowhere close to coming up with something solid yet here, but I'm definitely glad to see some interest in the idea!!

So I just went through my PM box and grabbed some of my old roleplay ideas that I never really elaborated on. I figured I'd post them here, and if any interest is shown I might pick one to actually work on. I'm also always opening to having a co-GM for some assistance.

A Kingdom Hearts Tale
Game Master: [supporter]Nakuzami[/supporter]

WELCOME TO HEARTHAVEN ACADEMY, a sanctuary and center of learning for those with the mysterious ability to wield a Keyblade. For decades, Hearthaven Academy has sat in secret, but with vigil, at the center of the worlds. It has watched all the goings on in the worlds, taking in talented young individuals to train and then send out to protect the worlds from the threat of Darkness.

Essentially just a Kingdom Hearts Academy roleplay. Roleplayers would be students—not necessarily Keyblade wielders, but they'll all eventually learn to wield a Keyblade. They'd learn the basics of magic and combat, light and darkness, the Lanes Between and the various worlds that populate them, the many creatures that appear in the Kingdom Hearts universe, and, of course, Kingdom Hearts itself, and the X-Blade.

I'm not entirely sure where it would move after that. The timeline has yet to be determined, but I'm thinking that perhaps this can take place long before the Kingdom Hearts series and eventually lead into our take on The Keyblade Wars. Problem with that is, I'm not sure what I would do for worlds. I don't suppose they'd have to be limited to Disney, and new ones could be made, but they couldn't intersect with the timelines of worlds that have already appeared in the Kingdom Hearts series.

Spoiler:

Where would you go?
Who would you be?
Who would you fight for?
Who would you
protect?

And what would you do if you had to lose everything you care for in order to gain immortality?
. . . If you had no choice?

Legends speak of the Eternity Wars—a series of gruesome, mysterious conflicts across the centuries. They always describe the same individuals taking part in these supernatural affairs. They describe immortals.

No one really knows the truth about the Eternity Wars, except for the ones who were there.

And this is their story.

I guess it is what is sounds like, assuming everyone thinks it sounds like you'll be playing an Immortal character in something known as The Eternity Wars.

All of the roleplayers will be newly chosen "Immortals," and will be tasked with keeping the world in balance as light and darkness begin to take hold. It will take place in a somewhat advanced society before recorded history, and it will be up to the roleplayers what path they will take—light or dark, moral or criminal—and that will decide the fate of the world thereafter.

Spoiler:
I don't really have much at all on the next two ideas, but I've been entertaining them and, who knows? They could go in some fun directions.

Spoiler:
Spoiler:
The Elder Scrolls:
Arcana Beasts

Pokémon x The Elder Scrolls

Basically a version of Tamriel inhabited by pokémon, because, you know, obligatory cross-over.

I'm not sure who the roleplayers would be, or if they'd really be special at all. I'm thinking something similar to the Dovahkiin, in a manner of speaking. Perhaps their souls resonate with those of the "arcana beasts," or pokémon, which is what allows them to explore the full potentials of those creatures. There would be no poké balls or anything of the sort, as it is still medieval Tamriel, so that would limit the roleplayers on how many and what pokémon they'd have, which could also lead to some interesting styles based around their pokémon partner(s).

I'm also not sure if I'd limit it to a single province. I'm most familiar with Skyrim, and I'm pretty well versed in the land of Cyrodiil. I could easily throw together some lore and descriptions from Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, and ESO to go with any of the other provinces, though.

The Elder Scrolls:
Limitless

This one would be pure The Elder Scrolls. It would take place across all of Tamriel and your character would be, for the most part, normal. They'd be an adventurer, for whatever reason they have to be, and they'd be responsible for teaching themselves how to survive in the lands of Tamriel. They'd all start off rather weak, but they could eventually grow their powers to incredible levels.

I may include certain higher abilities, and roleplayers might be able to slowly learn a Thu'um or two, but your "specialness" would come from your feats, kind of like the hero in Oblivion (minus the "destiny" part and whatnot).

In both of these roleplays, I'd probably open up more races to be playable, as it doesn't necessarily have to match the timeline of TES. The extra races would all be from TES lore, though, and probably just Tamrielic lore. So, basically, Ayleid, Dwemer, Falmer (Snow Elves, not the Betrayed), Maormer, Imga, Lilmothiit, and Sload. Akaviri races like the Tsaesci, Ka Po' Tun, Kamal, and Tang Mo could be possible choices, but those would be harder to pull off (and would have little reason being in Tamriel, except for, perhaps, the Tsaesci and Kamal, as they've both invaded Tamriel in the past).

Spoiler:
Spoiler:
Death Weapon Meister Academy

A Soul Eater roleplay. Prior knowledge on Soul Eater is not needed.
Rated T, for Teens

Welcome to the DWMA! Obviously, another Academy roleplay. Roleplayers would take on the roles of either Weapons or Meisters, would learn how to control their abilities, and, assuming everyone is in the EAT class, would be tasked with hunting Kishins and trying to make their Weapon partners (or themselves, if they're a weapon) into a Death Scythe.

I would probably remove most of the canon characters from the story, except, of course, Lord Death. But he wouldn't be seen too often.

I have a few more ideas lying around as well as swirling in my head, but I'll just leave y'all with these five for now.
