[fakemon contest : voting]
After much time and a healthy dose of my own laziness, as promised, we begin the voting stage! But, don't go clicking yes, there's still a lot to do. First and foremost, thank you so much to those who participated. Everyone did such a good job and I'm so proud of all of you. :') Best of luck to everyone!

Rules

- Please make sure that you, as participant, vote before February 20th. This gives you 8 days to submit your vote. It is optional for non-participants but it isn't so for you. It's mandatory that you vote or you'll be disqualified.

- Although it's okay if you just vote and go along, it is expected of you that you make a small post underlining why you voted for the icon that you did. No need to write huge paragraphs; a single line would honestly suffice if you don't want to write much!

- Do not vote for yourself.

- Be polite, respectful, and mindful of the artist's work. Try not to mention how you'd do the drawing.

- The images posted to not correlate with the names on the list, so don't even try.

- IF FOR WHATEVER REASON, YOU SUBMITTED A FAKEMON AND IT ISN'T HERE; TELL ME. I CAN AND WILL EDIT THE POLL TO INCLUDE YOU.

Deadline : February 20th

Fakemon #1

Spoiler:

(orange is the shiny form)

Durabear is based on the Tardigrade (which means Slow Stepper), also known as waterbears or moss piglets. The tardigrade is an eight-legged micro-animal that can withstand almost anything, temperatures nearing absolute 0 or above the boiling point of water, pressures stronger than 6 times the amount in the deepest ocean trenches, ionizing radiation 100x the lethal dose for a person and the vacuum of space. They just curl up in a ball and wait and are super cool! :D

Durabear evolve from Moglet (Moss + Piglet) upon leveling up while knowing defense curl (learned at level 17.

Type: Normal

Stats:
HP: 95
A: 35
D: 170
SA: 35
SD: 170
SP: 20
BST: 525

Ability: Thick Fat, Overcoat | Hidden Ability: Stasis

*Stasis: When this pokemon's HP reaches zero through any means, this pokemon clings on to life and will not faint from any means for the next three turns. After the third turn this pokemon will faint, even if it is not in battle. Does not apply to Perish Song. Also, if this pokemon is hit with a water type attack while under the effects of stasis, it will rehydrate to whatever amount of HP it would have lost.

Dex Entry 1: Durabear eat plants all day and hardly move. It's been found that this species has been around since before all fossil pokemon, first appearing 530 million years ago!

Dex Entry 2: Durabear are thought to be the hardiest pokemon. They can withstand extreme conditions of any kind and can go 10 years without food or water.

Fakemon #2

Spoiler:
Golbania (Pronounced: Goal-bane-ia)
Classification: Reflections Pokémon
Origin: Golbania is based on a combination of the mythological Hydra and the Orochi. Unlike its counterparts, Golbania consists of four sibling snakes bound at their conjoined tails. Their real body is hidden in a gap between dimensions, and the four brothers only appear in the physical domain through mirrors or calm pools of water.
Types: Water and Ghost
Base Stats (Regular): Varied (The stats change depending on what brother appears in battle, which in turn is affected by the moves Golbania uses. Sly is defense and special defense oriented, Chaste is special attack oriented, Serenity is speed oriented, and Conviction is attack oriented).
Base Stats (Mega Evolution): HP-high, Attack-moderately high, Defense-high, Special Attack-moderately high, Special Defense-high, Speed-moderate
Ability (Regular): Solace Mirage-Utilizing ancient illusionary arts, Golbania creates temporary mirages to avoid damage during the start of the turn so that it can shift between one of its four heads based on the type of move it uses.
Ability (Mega Evolution): Equalizer-So long as Golbania is in battle, all attacks strike all Pokémon the same way regardless of type or preventive abilities. All other Pokémon's abilities are neutralized, and all stat changes are eliminated.
History/Pokémon Information: Golbania is heralded as a protector and a deity by the Meradai tribe of ancient Ronac. The four brothers Sly (who has a V-shape marking in the middle of his face), Chaste (who has a simple cross on his forehead), Serenity (who has a pentagram on his nose), and Conviction (who has an X-shaped marking on his lower jaw) are said to be the Pokémon that maintains the boundary between physical reality and the dreamtime world of Beyi Quofyi. When the multiverse was created, the four brothers were birthed into existence by an unnamed deity to keep stability between the countless realities that continuously arise with the unceasing paradoxes and anomalies of the Space-Time continuum. In the modern era, they have become feared as demonic presences that are opposed to Arceus and his children, oftentimes getting caught up in the ceaseless feuds of Palkia, Dialga, and Giratina. Because of their phantasmal state, they have the ability to nullify the others powers and create mirages that give them temporary solace. While their opponents are preoccupied, the four brothers slip away and use their godly powers to repair whatever damage has been caused to the dimensions they are near. They do not exist in physical reality, but can enter and exit at will, so long as they keep some tether to their natural domain.
Evolutionary Line: Golbania does not evolve directly into any other Pokémon, but when equipped with their Mega Stone Golbanianite, the four brother can emerge simultaneously from the Ouroboros Mirror.

Signature Moves
1.) Lamentation (Ghost)-The user unleashes a lamenting cry that transcends reality and damages the spiritual essence of all Pokémon that hear it. Power: 150 Accuracy: 90% PP: 5 Category: Special
2.) Flip Flop Flux (Psychic)-The user implements advanced psychokinetic powers to randomly change all Pokémon's stats and type match-ups. Power: -- Accuracy: 100% PP: 5 Category: Status
3.) Strangulate (Dark)-The user wraps its lengthy body around the opponent's neck, just long enough to cut of its air supply. Once the opponent faints, it released its hold. This attack never misses, but it can only be used once per battle. Power: -- Accuracy: 100% PP: 5 Category: Physical
4.) Prism Clasher (Water): Golbania's signature attack allows all four brothers to attack a single foe in rapid succession. This move strikes four times in a single turn, and the damage of each hit changes depending on each brother's Attack stat. Power: 50 Accuracy: 100% PP: 5 Category: Physical

Fakemon #7

Spoiler:

This is Mega-Emolga.

Emolga has quickly become one of my favorite Pokemon. It retains the cuteness that a small flying squirrel should have, while achieving respectable stats that make it a very useful to any trainer's party of six. Emolga is not known to evolve into any other form, and in my opinion doesn't need to have an evolutionary form. It would likely become bulky, ugly, and somehow still retain its ability to fly, judging by past evolutions with other "cute" characters.

I deemed that if Emolga was going to have an evolution, it should be something simple. It should retain its cuteness and still be a contender to other trainers. My Mega-Emolga is supposed to achieve a superhero-like look, and would achieve superhero strength and speed upon its exposure to the Mega Stone.

First and foremost, I just want to say that all the designs look great, and the thought that went behind them is awesome - and fun to see! My vote goes to #13, Devlux. I love how simple it is, and in terms of taking on the theme of lust it's a very appropriate representation for a pokemon. I'm not a fan of pokeon that look too... human (and cough cough lopunny), but Devlux walks that line which I think works great for its concept. The art is really clean and well done, and the abilities make sense. The gender differences are an added bonus, and I like how it's easy to identify the concept of Devlux in its design, but it's not a strict representation.

Runner ups for me were Fanshee and Mega-Emolga. It was a tough choice!

Edit: "Please make sure that you, as participant, vote before July 1st" <-That's my Bday :D

I'd like to vote for Devlux. (there are currently duplicates so I will wait)

It does the best in both artwork and concept. Great nuance with the theme gives it purpose without becoming gimmicky. With that, it's excellently presented, and I would love to have one on my team! (I just wouldn't like picking between the male and female since they are both equally great designs.)

Other entries that I particularly enjoyed are the Mega Emolga and Musi, the hummingbird. Musi just lacked a bit in concept and spritework; based on the artwork though, I would love to see this design in a game. Mega emolga just barely missed my vote since it was an evolution of an official design. I might add, I don't really like many of the mega designs, but I do really love this Mega Emolga! I could only vote one though. :(

Great job everyone!

Hate to be the barer of bad news, but #13 is Augerero, not Devlux. Devlux is number 12. The number corresponding to the Fakemon is above the spoiler tags. So the Fakemon appears below their number, not above.

^w^;; You guys may have misvoted.

Don't worry, I held off until the duplicate was fixed.

Hmm, Augerero is great too, I will add it among the other standout entries. It reminds me of creatures from pan's labyrinth in its aesthetic. I'd prefer the evolution process to be a bit more straightforward, but overall it's a great entry. Very close!

My vote would have to go towards Fakemon #3. Love how it was colored; light blue and pink are excellent choices. They seem to mash-up with each other pretty nicely. Also, I really like the way how its tails are heart-shaped; creative! All other entries were great, though, but this is simply my most favorite. Great job, you all. n_n

I'll be blunt: Devlux was an almost immediate choice. It actually looks like a next-gen Pokémon, and it's something I'd want to use if it were included in a game. The other entries were good, but I honestly think Devlux is very professionally made. I actually feel embarrassed for the entry I submitted.

Wow, Devlux is pretty damn good. Number 14 was the runner-up for me; it looked like some kind of deranged Minotaur, which is really cool in it's own regard.

I have to say #7 and #12 I like emolga, and that mega-evolution looks awesome. I like the combination of dark and fairy and thought 12 looked cool. I myself am a Fakemon creator, so If you will have another contest, please contact me. :)

It actually took me a long time to decide! I thought all of the designs were great, but the one that I finally chose was #5, Blosshum.

I just liked the concept and I thought the artwork was great. It's a cool fakemon that I wouldn't mind seeing in the real games. Plus it's a grass type!

Other notable mentions were #1 (I loved the story behind that as I'm also a fan of the waterbear), #7 (that Mega-Emolga looks awesome), #11 (Seriously, that's a cool concept), and #12 (I personally think that this one is going to win).

This was fun and I look forward to seeing the final results! :D

I'm really impressed with these designs, so I applaud you guys. It was close, but the one I voted for was number #3. The design is simple, but it still has features that make it stand out, for example the antennae and the tail feathers. Basically I could see this being a real pokemon in any of the future games so that's why I ultimately chose it.

Wow! Everyone did a fantastic job! My vote had to go to Devlux. Concept and design like that is something that could totally exist in the land of Pokemon.

There was so much thought and love that clearly went into all of these pieces. It's always hard to pick just one when everyone does such a great job!

Voted for #3. Really creative design, totally something I wouldn't find out of place in a game, and appealing color scheme. I really like it.

Had a hard time voting between that and #13. Both really neat designs. Others were great too but it came down to these two for me. :p

IMO It boiled down to Musi, Fanshee, Blosshum and Devlux.

Musi is great. Really cute and has vibrant colors. There is no existing hummingbirdmon yet so that's a plus. The antennae disturbs me for some reason tho. It feels tacked on to emit a fairy-type vibe i guess? The sketchy linework ticks me off a bit too, sorry.

Fanshee is really adorable, and the ability is nice. The low stats doesn't really imply specially defensive though. Haha. I think the big problem that hinders it though is its close resemblance to Whimsicott.

Blosshum is great too. It has cleaner lineworks and the blend of colors is nice. The problem though IMO is the behindtailfeathers. It's kinda disturbing to see some other pokemon suck nectar from its behindtailfeathers, right?

Devlux is really well done, and art quality-wise IMO it is the best in this contest. The typing and abilities make sense too. The only problem IMO is that its concept (demons) is quite questionable for pokemon.

In the end I voted for Devlux. On the whole its pros outweighs its cons so it's the one I picked. Good job to everyone :)

Well, I am going to be different and vote for Number 1, Durabear! The concept is cool (those little guys are awesome), the coloring visually contrasts nicely, and I love the idea of the hidden ability, Statsis. The only negative I can really think of is that the shading is a bit... off? The shades of the shell-thing seem to varied to be from one color. Still, this is a pokemon that would fit into the series in my opinion.
If I had a penny every time someone asked me that, I'd still be poor.
