Fantastic question! There's quite a few things, actually.
Arcades are still a thing there. Here in the West they're kind of an antiquated concept, and the ones that do exist are very retro and not very modern. In Japan, they're
very modernized, with games like Metal Gear Solid and Dragon Ball Z.
Over there, there's like, no shame in an adult playing video games. Lots of times I saw grown men in business suits on the train playing PSP's, which I thought was pretty neat :)
The streets don't have names, which was
extremely confusing for me at first. I even got lost coming back from downtown, and I had no idea how to ask for directions because...no street names ><
For some reason, their McDonald's taste better to me. Like they use fresher ingredients or something. And they have shrimp filets on their dollar menu. Pretty tasty :)
And finally, Maid/Butler cafes. It's basically exactly what it sounds like. A restaurant where the serving staff dresses like maids and/or butlers (depending on whether the cafe caters to men or women), and you get one who sits and eats with you and calls you master/mistress throughout your stay. Yup... xD xD xD
