As the title suggests, this is about all your favourite pokemon league champions that you face (eventually)!

So, then:

*Who was your favourite Champion(s) in the whole pokemon series?
*Why do you like that particular champion(s)?

Just to give you a brief list of them:

R/B/Y: The Champion was your rival, Blue (or whoever you named him). He's arrogant, a jerk, and before he begins the battle, he declared that he was the most powerful trainer in the world. After he loses, he began to question why he lost, and in so, Professor Oak said that he forgot to treat his pokemon with trust and love.

G/S/C: This time the Champion is Dragon Master Lance, who uses his trademark Dragonites. He helped you out, chasing away Team Rocket in Mahogany town, and questions you if even though the road on becoming champion is long.. will you still power through? After you beat him, he explains that he wasn't angry that he lost. In fact he was happy. Happy to see a new champion!

R/S/E: Well, this is interesting, but on Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, the Pokemon Champion is Steven, who uses fossil & steel pokemon. On Pokemon Emerald, the pokemon Champion is Wallace, how gave his former position as the 8th gym leader to Juan. Still rocks with his Milotic and other water pokemon!

D/P/Pl: It's Cynthia! Cynthia is actually the first female champion you see in the pokemon games. She is pretty interested in mythology, specifically the legendary pokemon of Sinnoh. She's most famous for her powerful Garchomp.

B/W/B2/W2: On the first games of the Fifth Gen, Pokemon Black and Pokemon White, the champion is Alder, who seems like a friendly man, who is humble in the ways of helping pokemon trainers. He's best pokemon is a Volcarona. Interestingly enough, it's been hinted that he lost his former partner pokemon before. On the sequel, Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, the Champion is Iris, who waaas a dragon-type gym leader. She has new pokemon though, but, her best to use is her Haxorus.

X/Y: Ah, the champion is Diantha, a famous movie star. She uses a wide variety of pokemon, and her best to use is her Gardevoir, where she always Mega-Evolves it to MegaGardevoir. Pretty cool!

In the manga it states that Steven gave the Champion to Wallace (who was the real Champion in the first place, as Steven was only Champion because of some reason I can't remember) because to stop the battle between Kyogre and Groudon, he had to go obtain the Regis and use them to fight the two legendary mascots. Steven knew he was going to die in the process, thus he returned the Champion to Wallace. Steven did indeed die, but is later brought back to life somehow.

Yeaaahhhhh...

I really like all the Champions. Don't really care too much for Iris though.

Cynthia.

Not only is she badass, her fight is one of the most difficult and complex the series has ever managed, and I always adore sparring with her because of it. She's one of the few in-game trainers that ever stands a chance against me at this point. I'm interested to see her in future games... with her Garchomp being a Mega. It's going to happen. They love their Shirona (Cynthia's Japanese name) over there. And I like her too.

Diantha is a Cynthia wannabe in every way possible. And her fight is pathetic. I love her music, but not her design (her hairstyle + color with her face makes her look twice the age she's supposed to be) or team. Like a champion uses an Aurorus? Well I did too but he ended up being a tag-along xD

btw, Lance trains Flying types, not Dragon.

If I had to rank everyone, including bonus battles:

10. Wallace (blah)
9. Diantha (pathetic)
8. Iris
7. Alder
6. Steven Stone
5. Lance
4. N
3. Blue
2. Red
1. Cynthia

Idk about Iris since I haven't played much of White 2... yet. Not sure how much I'm going to... yet.
This'll do for now.

Ahhhh this is really tough for me! Steven is awesome and his team is sooo cool (dat Metagross), but as of late I've really grown fond of Iris. She's just… this cute little dragon princess and her theme is so ahhh <33

I'm gonna have to say Iris! (unpopular opinion... I think?)

To be honest I don't particularly love any of the champions. Alder was kinda weird and him and Cynthia showed up a lot between the couple games they're in. Blue was arrogant and a loser, self-explanatory. The rest were kind of just there. Steven and Wallace were hip dudes I suppose, though I gotta lump Wallace with Iris as wannabe Gym Leaders crowned champions. That pretty much leaves Diantha and Lance, so either of those two would be my favorite. Lance actually helps you fight crime (although the others arguably do as well) and wears a cape. And Diantha just looks like a fairy but she has some fierce eyebrows.

Cynthia's my favourite champion. She's generally useful in progressing throughout the story? Well she gave us medicine, that's important.

She's also appeared outside of her generation of games, and was always the hardest champion for me.

Steven Stone's high up there as well, he's soooo cool.
And there's so much that I want to find out about his character.

Even though i'm probably the odd one out on this one, for me at least as far as battling goes I have to say Iris. While she's not really that tough, i've always found her to be a VERY fun battle, because not only is the presentation for the battle nothing short of amazing (the only pre-XY battle to use full body sprites for VS art, that mindblowingly awesome battle theme and did I mention the battle scene with those awesome multicolor beams?), but she uses many of my favorite Pokémon - Hydreigon, Haxorus, Lapras and Aggron, four of them right there. And Challenge Mode makes it even cooler since her movesets get buffed with 100-120 power STAB moves. I seriously don't care what anyone says, it's part of what makes BW2 so amazing for me. Although you don't see her much throughout the story, if she did something for the big Kyurem event maybe I would have liked her as a whole more.

But taking all factors into account, that would go to Cynthia. Everything about her screams epic, including an awesome team and personality, but her only downside is that she doesn't do much against Team Galactic.

Between Cynthia and Lance for me. They're both just all-round cool folk. Cynthia gets a bit of an edge since we get to see more of her, and Lance may benefit from the rose-tinted glasses of Nostalgia.

Gary has honourable mention, but I place him solidly in the Rival area.

Cynthia was gorgeous and in my eyes the best champion. It was about darn time we got a female champion when the fourth generation rolled around and her silly yet very calm personally only added to her charm. That and she was strong to boot, hehe. :)

It'd definitely have to be Blue, in my opinion. Champions are not supposed to be cocky and arrogant, which he is; that's what makes him different from all the rest. :] Second would be Steven. He may specialize only in steel-types, but he is still a great battler nonetheless. When I'd first faced him Ruby, it took me about eight to twelve resets to get him finally beaten. As for third favorite, it's most likely gotta be Cynthia.

If I tell you my online name Rilence was made up from Riley and Lance, which Champion do you think I like most? :P

Cynthia takes my 2nd place. I like how much backstories she has, especially with her studies and researches on the Sinnoh ruins and histories.

It's a tossup between Steven and Alder for me. Between Steven's very defensive battling style and Alder's awesome design and overworld music, these are the two best of of the best that the Pokémon world has to offer. ^_^

My favorite is no doubt Green/Blue. He was the very first Champion i had to face and beat, he had a challenging team, had been teasing and mocking you all game long and it was a great last battle to become the Kanto Champion. 2nd place has to go to Steven, for having an awesome team and being over-all a good character.

It's always been a toss-up between Blue and Cynthia as my favorite Champion, for very different reasons.

With Blue, you get your rival who's aiming for the same goals that you are, but is seemingly one step ahead of you at every point. When you finally find out that he's the Champion of the Pokemon League that you worked so hard to beat, taking the title from him makes it that much sweeter.

As for Cynthia, not only was she the first female Champion, but quite possibly the most difficult I've ever faced. And that's exactly what a champion should be- someone who puts all of your skills to the test, not someone like Wallace who's easily swept aside with the right type advantage.

I really like Iris, Lance, and Cynthia. Though I feel like Cynthia's a little overrated, everyone loves her, but well they love her for good reasons ;P (pretty much what everyone else said about her)

I liked Iris a lot because seeing her as a champion was a huge shock to me. I hadn't been spoiled about it before I played so it was a huge "Woaaahh! nice!" moment. Also her music and appearance is sweet, and the battle was a ton of fun. I really enjoyed it. She is highly immature though, in a lot of ways, and I'm not a fan of Iris in the anime at all, heh.

I liked Lance mostly because of how cool a dude he was. It's awesome that he has dragons and uses them to help you power through team rocket before you even know he's the champion. But for some reason he doesn't stick out too much to me.

I feel like I could have really liked Diantha, but she's laughably easy and her personality feels highly fake to me. Her appearance also bothers me. *-*

I'd have to say my overall favorite has got to be Iris.

Cynthia by far. Most interesting, not obnoxious, not someone you beat in previous games, and a heck of a lot more attractive to me than Steven or Wallace. :P Also, she was just as deeply involved in the plot as the Hoenn champions. Gen I was just your obnoxious rival, Gen II you only see Lance in the Mahogany Hideout and Lake of Rage, plus you beat him before in the last generation. Gen III had a lot of involvement from the champions, but Steven was more involved in RS than Wallace was in Emerald. Steven was also a challenge if you weren't expecting Pokemon with high defense. Cynthia was OP, had a pretty balanced team compared to other champions, and was about as involved in the plot as Steven, iirc. Alder was just there and not really involved. Iris was also just kind of there and didn't get involved much in the B2W2 plot (though she was moderately active in the BW plot). And Dianthe, while more involved in the plot than Alder or Iris, was just kind of there and not truly involved in the plot.

Steven is my top followed by Cynthia. I think they both made good characters. I found their designs appealing and their teams to be an interesting match up to their character.

I really dislike Alder and Iris though and I usually just pretend they never happened. Also Wallace was a poor change because his team is ridicuously easy to beat, but I really enjoy Juan taking his place as gym leader and I like the slight difference in character for Steven.
