House Stark Update 2
Forgive me in that I can't provide a good update of what I have done.
I did everything I needed to after beating Viola. (Like going to the Pokémon lab, chose squirrel put in box, and did the parfum palace thing.)
This time, I did not die to Snorlax! Bran is the best decision I have ever made.
Now in ambrette aquarium, about to go to cyllage city.
Wish me luck!

Sorry about the lack of updates. I'll update as soon as I can, next week probably.

Hi, im back but with bad news because I lost all my pokemon :P Went to the gym and the first guy killed Trystane and then went to catch a Buneary and she killed Oberyn, so I lost :(

I am considering giving it another go with the Greyjoy but I was thinking that maybe you could add Water for the required type, they are pirates after all, have the best fleet in westeros (one of the best atleast) and their god is the Drowned God. Maybe also Dark type, but mainly water would be the best to add. You could also add a new House Rule for the greyjoy:

Pay the Iron Price: You can't buy anything (except pokeballs so you dont run out of them).

I made the addition and changes. I also added secondary rules to Houses Martell, Tyrell, Tully and Arryn.

I'd love to join! Having just beaten Pokemon Glazed, this seems like something I could get behind. Just give me some time to pick between Stark or Targaryen and Sinnoh or Unova. :)

I have this idea, though. For the Starks, how about adding a compulsory Pokemon for Sansa? Like, something stereotypically beautiful, like Gardevoir (although I realize that's incorrect typing) or "little bird"-like that's actually very powerful ;)

Edit: I've made my choice!

Question: I chose Piplup as a starter, because it evolves to have a Stark type, steel. But upon rereading the rules, there's nothing that says whether the starter should be used up until a house-type is caught, or if I should hack in a house-type, or if I'm permitted to use Pokemon that will eventually get my house's types...

It's no problem that Piplup doesn't fit the Stark typing until Empoleon. As long the form you intend on using on your final team fits the required typing, it's all that matters.

The Tale of How Winter Came To Sinnoh

Update 1

Spoiler:

The player character is named Winter, and the rival Summer, because children born in summer do not know the might of Winter. Winter’s starter is Piplup, with a Quiet nature, and quite fittingly nicknamed Ned (before she even remembered to check for nature!) She’s thinking of renaming him Eddard once he evolves Empoleon, but then again, maybe not.

Captured a level 3 Bidoof named Slave, as per the rules, although she really wanted to name him Unsullied. Or Hodor, but she likes Hodor too much for him to be a Bidoof/Bibarel.

Lucas generously gave her some Pokeballs, and she traipsed out of Sandgem and on to Jubilife, where she delivered the parcel to Summer. As honor needs to be rewarded, she then stocked up on potions, in anticipation of the coming rival and gym battle.

Summer’s party was soundly defeated by a level 13 Ned, and Winter went on to Oreburgh Gate. Ned evolved in the mine, then destroyed the Oreburgh Gym with Bubble.

The Galactic grunts were summarily dealt with, by a rapidly leveling Ned’s Bubble/Bubblebeam.
Floaroma Town’s events were easily finished, with a level 24 Ned’s Bubblebeam/Peck obliterating the sadly underleveled grunts’ Pokemon. (Slave saw some action, because twins Liv and Liz were a double battle and Winter traveled only with Ned and Slave. Slave leveled to 6.)
Eterna Forest was a good training ground.

In Eterna City, Winter realized that as overleveled as Ned was (level 28), he still wouldn’t be able to deal with Gardenia’s monster of a Roserade. Luckily, a training session in Mt. Coronet turned up a friendly level 14 Bronzor, whom Winter hopes will become a wall of defense in the future. Benjen the Bronzor is now in charge of walling Gardenia, as well as dealing out some Confusions…after some training, of course.

It would be nice if Eterna Forest housed Murkrows…but unfortunately for Winter, she’s playing Platinum, and there are no Murkrows in Platinum.

Update 2
It's a bit late, as a storm blew in and the power went down and all my gadgets ran out of battery, so...
Anyway, have at ye, Eterna City Gym!

Spoiler:

Spamming Confuse Rays right and left, brave Benjen walled and walled and fought Turtwig to the death. As Turtwig fell to a combination of Confusion and self-inflicted hurt, Benjen steeled himself for a greater challenge yet: surviving Cherrim.

Cherrim was a demon, spamming Safeguards and Grass Knots as freely as Benjen tossed out Confusions. Twice did Benjen need to be brought back from the brink of death. When Cherrim threw out a Leech Seed, Winter recalled Benjen to his ball, and Ned walked majestically out.

"Cherrim shall fall," he declared, and with a Peck, so she did.

"Are you ready?" Winter asked her brave wall. Benjen nodded.

"I go to destroy Roserade," he vowed.

At first, all went well with him, as he walled and confused Roserade, who was setting up Reflect. But then, with a screech of "Growing Strong!" Roserade broke free of her confusion and felled Benjen with a Grass Knot.

Benjen, brave little wall, lay dead on the grass.

After the gym battle, wherein Ned felled Roserade with a critical-hit Peck, Benjen was ceremoniously buried in the Stark crypts. Winter wept for a while for the first casualty of her journey, then drew herself up, taught Cut to Slave, and proceeded to the Galactic Building to free the Cycle Shop manager.

The Galactics stood no chance against a grief-stricken, level 30 Ned. The Cycle Shop manager was freed, and Winter acquired a Bike. Onwards!

Got through Mt. Coronet, and met the strange, blue-haired man again. Upon arriving in Hearthome City, Winter met up with her mother, and received a Timid future Glaceon named Sansa.

(You guys, you have no idea how many times I reset to get a female Eevee.)

At this point in time, Winter, Ned, Sansa, and yes, even Slave, had a moment of silence for the dear, deceased little Benjen, whose brave self-sacrifice helped them get this far. And then...to training once more!

Next up will be the ghost-type gym with the strangely beautiful French lady, Fantina!

Update 3
Forgive me if this is a bit short, I got caught up in playing and not in recording details.
Spoiler:

The trip through the gym was made quickly, with Sansa in the lead holding an Exp. Share and then switching out for Ned. Winter proceeded carefully, not wanting to be seen by the gym trainers. Finally, she reached Fantina.

Sansa faced Duskull, blinding her with Sand-Attack to set up for Ned. Thanks to the Sand-Attacks, the Will-o-Wisps that Duskull was so fond of spamming all missed Ned, allowing him to clean up Duskull and 2OHKO Haunter. Mismagius was managed similarly, but with a little more care, with her Magical Leaf proving a slight danger to Ned's sweep.

After leaving and healing up, Winter faced Summer at the gate going to Solaceon Town. Sansa easily got rid of Staravia, and Ned cleaned up Ponyta, Buizel, and Grotle.

Explored Solaceon Ruins and obtained the items therein.

On the outskirts of Solaceon Town, a Ponyta named Tyrion was obtained, for the sole purpose of breeding with Sansa and producing Eevee eggs. (*shudder* Thank the Seven that scenario didn't happen in GOT.) Two Eevee eggs having been produced, Tyrion was then permanently boxed, and Sansa was reinstated.

Winter wended her way through Route 215. During the double battle near the gate to Hearthome, Ned achieved his 36th level, and evolved into Empoleon.

Onwards to Veilstone!

Update 4

Spoiler:
Winter was suitably impressed with Crasher Wake.

Ned delivered a beatdown to the Veilstone Karate Quads, despite being supereffectively damaged by the fighting-type moves. (Should I have held off his evolution until after beating the gym that supereffectively damaged his secondary type?) Well, too late now. The Hyper Potions picked up during the journey healed him up until Maylene. Due to being level 37, and thus 5 levels higher than her ace Lucario, Ned wiped the floor with Bubblebeam.

After the gym battle, Lucas came around begging for help, and Winter obliged. The duo cleaned up Team Galactic in a double battle (although I would argue that the player character always does more work in double battles, sigh), after which Looker came whizzing in, late as usual. HM Fly was obtained, as well as a Porygon that was instantly permanently boxed.

As Winter had done a good deed, she deserved to splurge! Star Pieces and Nuggets were sold to finance her shopping spree at Veilstone Dept., which mostly consisted of Vending Machine drinks, repels, and Poke balls. Then she biked back to Cafe Cabin to purchase a dozen Moomoo Milks. On the way back, she ran into a male Scyther. With level 32 Sansa in the lead, it was Quick-Attacked to red health and caught with a Net Ball.

In case anyone's interested, here's the team now:
Spoiler:

Eevee: Sansa
Level: 32
Ability: Run Away

Bite
Quick Attack
Sand-Attack
Growl

Empoleon: Ned
Level: 37

...and two Eevee eggs. :3

Hi, just want you to know I haven't given up on this challenge, I'm just waiting for a friend of mine to trade me an level 5 Aron (because I have pokemon Y) so I can use it on my greyjoy run.
Just one question, is it okay if the aron comes with the mega stone for Aggron?

Fine by me. When you start, just let me know so that I can add your name to the list of challengers.

Hi, so I'm going to start my run with greyjoy on the 9th of august, yey :)

I thought of a new rule for the greyjoy, but it's a spoiler of the fourth book, A Feast for Crows, so if you (RoreyG) haven't read them or don't want to be spoiled for the show just say it and I'll remove it but here it goes:

Spoiler:

Dragonblinder: With this horn the ironmen can bend dragons their will, your allowed one dragon type pokemon.

Skarper
House Greyjoy
Pokemon Y

1°Log:
Spoiler:

So I've started with a froakie, named him Euron, and got an Aron from a friend, whom I asked to be named Victarion, the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet. I won the first badge easily enough, searched for a Riolu but he did not appear so I moved on. Went to the lab and got a squirtle, named Balon, the Greyjoy brothers are almost reunited, only Damphair is missing for now. My character's name is Skarper, but his friends call him Grey King, the first king of the Iron Islands.

Team:
Euron lv16 (Frogadier)
Moves: Lick, Growl, Water Pulse, Quick Attack.

Victarion lv15 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Mud-Slap, Headbutt.

Balon lv10 (Squirtle)
Moves: Tackle, Tail Whip, Water Gun, Withdraw.

2° Log:
Spoiler:
So started my session by going to the Parfum Palace. The owner smelled of grass and cowardice, even with all those golden statues and the big garden, he didn't pay the iron price for any of that, but I helped him find his Furfrou anyway, I needed the flute to continue my jorney and so I did, we woke up the lazy snorlax and Victarion made him pay for being on the rode, but not before I battled a team of pokefans that killed Euron, at least he lost the battle e disappeared afterwards...
Though the Crow's Eye was gone his brothers weren't and the journey continued, I defeated the barons at the Battle Chateau and earned the title of Viscount, though titles mean nothing to the Grey King, only the battles matter. I went to Ambrette town, catching an Inkay as I went through route 8, but he died immediately after so no one cared. Caught an Onix inside the Glittering Cave, named him Ironmaker.

Party:
Ironmaker Lv17 (Onix)
Moves: Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Rage, Stealth Rock.

Victarion Lv22 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Take Down, Headbutt.

Balon Lv22 (Wartortle)
Moves: Rapid Spin, Bite, Bubble, Withdraw.

3º Log:
Spoiler:

So I went back to Ambrette Town and revived an armor fossil that a friend gave me to get a Shieldon named Barber. I also went back to catch a Riolu, that I named Theon, the only living son of Balon Greyjoy and the heir to the Iron Islands. Trained a bit and ended in route 5.

Party:
Ironmaker Lv20 (Onix)
Moves: Rock Tomb, Rock Polish, Gyro Ball, Stealth Rock.

The Barber Lv20 (Shieldon)
Moves: Taunt, Metal Sound, Take Down, Iron Defense.

Victarion Lv22 (Aron)
Moves: Metal Claw, Iron Defense, Take Down, Headbutt.

Balon Lv23 (Wartortle)
Moves: Rapid Spin, Bite, Bubble, Withdraw.

Theon Lv10 (Riolu)
Moves: Foresight, Quick Ball, Endure, Counter.

I'm doing the D.O.B challenge on Pokemon Y at the moment, but will definatly start this as well. Just finished the challenge. I love this idea and also love how the rules are different for each house. Game Of Thrones is amazing and combining this with the pokemon games is genius. Anyway sorry for editing this all the time. I'm having too much fun.

I just changed some of the rules for a new and improved Game of Thrones Challenge.

For fun, I decided to do another run a couple of days ago so here it is:

Name: RoreyG
House: Targaryen
Game: Pokemon Fire Red

- So I started out with a Charmander I named Aegon. I did the usual start of game tasks (Oak's parcel, etc) and got the Pokedex and and Pokeballs. I caught a Pidgey I named Baelish and battled Gary on Route 22. I level grinded on Rout 22 and in Viridian Forest until Aegon was a level 19 Charmeleon and Baelish was a 18 Pidgeotto. I made it to Pewter City and swept Brock's Gym with ember and metal claw and continued on through Mount Moon. I beat Team Rocket and got through to Cerulean City.

- I soloed Gary with Aegon and level grinded through Nugget Bridge all the way up to Bill's House. I helped Bill out and got the SS Ticket. I then made my way to Misty's Gym. I had a close call with Aegon when Starmi nearly ko'ed him with a well placed Swift, but he survived and a Mega Punch did Misty in. I then made my way through to Underground Tunnel and caught a Meowth on the Route just before Vermillion City. I named him Tyrion and decided to use him ad my optional Normal type. I level grinded on the surrounding Routes before boarding the SS Anne. I fought my way through the Ship and beat Gary again with ease. I acuired Cut, taught Tyrion, and fought Lt. Surge. I messed up and accidentally switched into my Pidgeotto during the battle and got shock waved from Raichu. Baelish died, but not in vein as Aegon (my MVP at this point) avenged his death and beat Lt. Surge with dig. Afterwards, I got the VS Seeker, the Bike Voucher (and Bike), and an Old Rod.
I fished in Vermillion City and caught a Magikarp I named Blackheart (after Myles Toyne of the Golden Company). I also went through Diglett Cave back to Pewter City to pick up the Old Amber and made my way back to Cerulean City.

- I level grinded all the way through Rock Tunnel (blind mind you) and through to Lavender Town and Celadon City where I finally evolved Blackheart into a Gyarados. I also caught a Growlithe on Route 7 I named Robb ( because Big Dog=Direwolf). I beat the Rocket hideout in the Game Corner and rescued Mr. Fuji in the Pokemon Tower before sweeping Erica with my Aegon (now Charizard) and Robb. I went back to Lavender Town and fought my way down to the Fishing Guru to get the Super Rod. En route, I caught the sleeping Snorlax to use in case my Tyrion died. I named him Varys. I got back to the Cycling Road, got Fly, and fought my way through to Fuchsia City. Aegon beat Koga, but not before his Muk killed my Robb.I placed him in the death box and paid a visit to the Safari Zone. I made my way to the lodge where I got Surf, taught Blackheart, and used my Super Rod in the nearby pond to fish and catch a Dratini. I named my Dratini Griff. Afterwards, I traded the Warden's teeth for Strength. and taught Blackheart.

- I trained Griff via the switch out method all the way to Saffron City, and through Silph Co. Tyrion, now a Persian, swept Sabrina's Psychic Gym. I level grinded my way to Cinnabar Island. I revived Aerodactyl from the Old Amber and named him Thoros (after Thoros of Myr because of the theorized connections between the Brotherhood Without Banners and Varys' Targaryen restoration plot). I grinded through the Pokemon Mansion and retrieved the Secret Key. Blackheart swept through Blaine's Gym. I took Bill's offer to come to the 123 Islands because you can never have enough opportunities to level grind. I did the Lostelle story all the while getting my entire team to the level 40's.

- I got back to Viridian City and Aegon, Griff, Thoros, and Blackheart all pitched in to take down Giovanni for one last time. Afterwards, I made my way to the Seafoam Islands once more and used my Masterball on Articuno (my optional Legendary). I named it Sansa (after Sansa Stark). I then went back to 1 Island and did some last minute grinding to get Aegon to level 60 and the rest of my team to level 55 (obviously, I now have a Dragonite, although I held off evolving Dratini until it learned Outrage). I made my way through Victory Road and prepared my final movesets (buying TM's) before facing the Pokemon League.

My Team to face the League:

Aegon (Charizard) (m)- Hasty- Lvl 60: Flamethrower/ Fly/ Dragon Claw/ Iron Tail
Sansa (Articuno)- Naive- Lvl 55: Ice Beam/ Fly/ Secret Power/ Hail
Tyrion (Persian) (m)- Naughty- Lvl 55: Slash/ Aerial Ace/ Shadow Ball/ Iron Tail
Griff (Dragonite) (m)- Serious- Lvl 55: Outrage/ Fly/ Brick Break/ Thunder
Thoros (Aerodactyl) (m)- Brave- Lvl 55: Rock Slide/ Fly/ Double Edge/ Iron Tail
Blackheart (Gyarados) (m)- Hardy- Lvl 55: Surf/ Earthquake/ Hyper Beam/ Dragon Dance

- Elite 4:
Lorelei= Charizard (Flamethrower) and Dragonite (Brick Break and Thunder) beat Lorelei
Bruno= Charizard (Fly) and Gyarados (Surf) beat Bruno
Agatha= Persian (Shadow Ball), Gyarados (Earthquake), and Aerodactyl (Rock Slide) beat Agatha
Lance= Articuno (Ice Beam) Gyarados (Surf), and Dragonite (Thunder) beat Lance
Gary= Charizard, Gyarados, Dragonite swept Gary

Your choice. You assemble the team and pick your own leader. It doesn't necessarily mean the compulsory Pokemon or the first one in your party.

I started my adventure in Kalos by choosing a Froakie that had the soul of Euron Greyjoy, the new King of the Iron Isles.
After a brief battle with Shauna I advanced to the Santalune Forest and defeated every trainer. Euron started controlling my mind more during this fase and made me catch a Riolu that had the soul of Rodrik Harlaw, the Reader, Euron's brother Balon brother-in-law. Rodrik didn't like Euron but he was his king so he helped him in his quest to conquer Kalos. He told of a pokemon that did not have the soul of an ironborn but the soul a of mighty ship, and this pokemon was in a lab in the city with a great tower in the middle.
To go to said city they had to unite to defeat Viola's bug pokemon. Rodrik defeated Surskit while Euron destroyed Vivillon. After defeating everyone in route 4 we got to Lumiose City where we met with the professor, Rodrik liked the man, since both we're learned man, but Euron didn't see that much in Sycamore. We defeated him, Euron evolved, much to him and Rodrik dismay, and got our ship, Squirtle, the Iron Victory, the ship of the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet, and Euron's hated brother, Victarion, which means he must be trapped inside of a pokemon too.

Tierno tries to kill the ironmen but Rodrik stops him with Counter followed by Force Palm. I advance through route 5 to Camphrier Town, a town in the middle of nowhere with nothing to raid. We try to advance but there a big monster on the way, so we get the poke flute from the palace. While in the palace grounds Euron makes me catch a Honedge, as he senses it has the power of the legendary Red Rain, a valyrian sword from House Drumm. After that Rodrik defeats the sleeping monster with the power of Counter and Trevor and Tierno show me the day-care. Once they leave I threaten the people inside it to give me the Aron they had, which they did immediately since it had tried to kill them. Victarion had been found!

Bad news: I lost, an axew killed Red Rain, Victarion sacrificed himself with Head Smash to kill a wild hawlucha, Lucario killed Rodrik and an Ace Trainer's Helioptile killed Balon and Iron Victory...
Good news: I'm doing another run in the near future. See you all soon.
No problem, it happens. Good luck with the next challenger though!!! Post it when you're ready to do it.

That said, I think I might do another challenge myself.
