I hated how yesterday it rained for five minutes and an hour later the city's dry as a rock in the desert (literally depending on where you look). It's not fair, I wanted it to last longer. :(

And it probably won't rain at all again for another two weeks minimum. :|

It was pure sun for the past week or something, with for my standards unbearable temperatures and all negative side effects included...
As in, you might or might not know but heat makes me both aggressive and depressive for some reason while coldness does the exact opposite. :<

It's pretty hot where I am. Thankfully, though, today's a little cooler. Was sweating a lot yesterday (which I really dislike), and my air conditioner just wasn't functioning properly. It was very frustrating, haha.
Feels like the summer hit early. Everybody's blasting air conditioner, too.

Speaking of summer hitting early, I just got out of school today. The people in the halls were more than ecstatic and the air was filled with happiness and relief. Lots of positivity floating around from what I could notice, eh? As was I. :p

It's bad enough with the seabreeze in Florida that it's like 84°F in Tampa but then like 93° in Lakeland. Here it was hot as well, and towards the end of the day, I almost turned on the fan that's in my work area.

Yeah, I started working for the first time today. I work as a student assistant at my school's financial aid office.

Sounds like a decent job! I just got my first job as well, as a web development and computational math tutor at school :D Finally getting some work experience after not working a day in my life for the past 20.5 years.

I've been brushing across the different restaurants at Fountain's Camden Plaza, and since it's all minimum wage grunt work I'm leaning towards McDonald's as I know an old staff sergeant from my ROTC regiment at Fountain-Fort Carson HS who works there, and my old unarmed regulation drill commander Lugo works there as well. If I'm going to do fast food work (as it's my only choice at 16 without a car) I'd like to have people I know who're already in. Plus the place has tons of windows, which is good for my sanity. The only quarrel I have is working breakfast shift since it's 24/7. :I

I've had my current job for a couple of years now, and am decently happy with it. n__n" Only thing I have to do is watch the store camera, and print checks for other employees. Very laid-back.

Yeah, I would love a job where I could just sit on my butt all day! Would beat working at McDonalds, that's for sure. Meh, McDonalds isn't that bad of a ob, it's just mind numbing when you have to make sandwiches for 7 hours straight. xp

The weather here has been great lately, it's making me want summer vacation even more! One more week to go, but senioritis is killing me! The weather was nice today but I didn't do anything. Going to play some Ultimate Frisbee with some buddies next week, and want to go to a local amusement park called King's Island.

I just called my new boss today to figure out what I was doing - apparently he's so excited to have me there that he's been going out of his way to get work in my skillset. B] Pretty psyched.

Hey, that's pretty awesome, Toujours!

As for me, I'll just be doing my regular awesome freelancing thing. I'm still trying to get better at web development, since I'm intending to start doing a bit of that maybe.

Even though my first day was nearly 100% shadowing my supervisor and other student colleagues, I still really enjoyed being at work. Of course though the office was quiet at times, but I was able to have some small talk when no one was busy, and get some food as well.

I've heard of paid internships, but I've just never been able to distinguish the difference between that and an actual job. I do know that the concept of internships just allows for people to shadow others (and eventually even perform tasks on their own) in the field that they're going into, but I had always thought that those would be without pay, but rather for college credit.

It really depends where you are but internships are, apparently, supposed to not be you actually working on the job you're assigned to but learning the skills you need in order to be able to have that job as an actual job. Or something like that when I saw a discussion on how internships are supposed to work some other place. And I believe you get paid because you're still working but also learning while you are doing so? And also because if you do good at your internship then by the end you might already have a job lined up at said internship and it's even better if you're already getting paid for it.

Alas, a lot of internships do tend to function simply like entry-level jobs which doesn't help distinguish the difference.

(But don't quote me on this I'm probably wrong like usual hahahah)
