When writing, do you prefer writing on paper, or typing on a keyboard? Do you know why, or is there some strange reason you can't fathom right now? How about reading? Do you prefer holding a paper copy of a book, or are you just fine reading off of a screen from your computer or tablet?

I used to be all about writing everything out by hand. Any story that I started would get its first words on paper, and then if it was fully edited, I would type it out. These days, I tend to start stories on the computer, and then copy them out by hand while editing to make sure I catch mistakes.

As for reading, I always get books in paper form. Just how I am. Sometimes there is the reason that I have a collection of the author's books, so it makes sense to keep getting hard copies of them. But I've always just gravitated towards paper books. When it comes to fanfiction, though, I prefer reading on a tablet over the computer.

I never thought of that before. I'll have to try that out because I could definitely work on my proofreading skills...

Anyway, I almost always write on my computer. It's so much easier going back and correcting mistakes, or changing an entire scene. I did write on paper for the longest time, but I kept running out of room when I went back and edited scenes, so I switched over to the computer.

However, I like paper books better than electronic books. It just feels much more... authentic. Plus, you can always let friends borrow paper books, tablets on the other hand, are much harder and more expensive to replace.

I would rather enjoy it if I would write using my laptop because I get a little tired and lose interest for about three minutes, but when it comes to reading I prefer books, they appeal to me at a great level, and also there aren't those issues involving scrolling and resizing and such. Also it gives more of a reading vibe when you use a book.

There should be a signature here somewhere.
I wonder where it's gone.

I'll write on a computer, mostly. Proofreading it on paper form is useful (particularly for more formal writing, I suppose....). But the most I do on paper is making notes or jotting down ideas.

Reading - books, more used to them and they're easier on the eyes.

For writing, I prefer computer as I can edit/type much faster and I tend to keep changing sentences and paragraphs every few minutes. Also I don't like my handwriting. :x

For reading, I actually prefer my phone. I can store several stories/novels in it and whenever I'm away from home I can pick and choose whichever story I feel like reading.

I write on my laptop, it's faster, easier, more practical. I can add color, underlines, use italic, bold, and a lot of different settings with just a couple clicks. I like to use yWriter5 to organize my projects: very useful.

When I read, however, I prefer books. I like the feeling of paper in my hands. I also print most of the things I write just to double-check and keep everything on a table when I need to think.

I prefer writing on a computer. I can easily type without looking at the keyboard and I like how easy it is to go back and correct or edit parts on a whim. In some ways, it's more comfortable to write out with a pencil and paper, but I don't really love my own handwriting haha.

When I read, I prefer books in one way - my laptop is a bit heavy and my phone has a broken screen (and is small) so it's more comfortable to hold a book. But also, digitally you can reach so many more texts so quickly. Fanfiction.net is a common place for me to hang around, it's really neatly made. I guess in the end it kind of depends on what I'm reading. Books might win in the end, especially pocket books, for the sake of comfort.
