The title get your attention? Good. Here's my conundrum.

I'm just doing a normal run through of my White 2 Version and I'm torn between Samurott and Lapras. I had my mind set on Lapras from the start, my team would be more balanced if I added an Ice Type to it, however, as of late, my Samurott's really been putting in some work. Which one should I use?

Right now, my options for a Water Type look like this:

Katsumoto (m)
Current Level: 45
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Torrent
Moves:
Razor Shell
Surf
Mega Horn
Revenge (soon to be replaced with Swords Dance should I decide keep him)

Layla (f)
Current Level: 40
Nature: Calm
Ability: Shell Armor
Moves:
Surf
Ice Beam
Psychic
Perish Song

Just for reference, here's how the rest of my team looks:

Kruger (m)
Current Level: 45
Nature: Naughty
Ability: Intimidate
Moves:
Flare Blitz
Fire Fang (soon to be replaced with Wild Charge)
Crunch
Outrage

Robb (m)
Current Level: 44
Nature: Timid
Ability: Inner Focus
Moves:
Force Palm (soon to be replaced with Aura Sphere)
Ice Punch (to be replaced with Flash Cannon when I get it)
Shadow Ball (soon to be replaced with Dragon Pulse)
Work Up (to eventually be replaced with Calm Mind)

Jasmine (f)
Current Level: 45
Nature: Modest
Ability: Synchronize
Moves:
Psychic
Shadow Ball
Signal Beam
Morning Sun

Mary (f)
Current Level: 41
Nature: Gentle
Ability: Static
Moves:
Discharge (soon to be replaced with Thunderbolt)
Volt Switch (soon to be replaced with Signal Beam)
Charge (to be replaced with Focus Blast when I get it)
Power Gem

Irwin (m)
Current Level: 41
Nature: Naive
Ability: Moxie
Moves:
Dig (soon to be replaced with Earthquake)
Foul Play
Strength (may be replaced with Outrage)
Rock Tomb (soon to be replaced with either Rock Slide or Stone Edge)

Some additional feedback on the rest of my team would be nice. I really appreciate the help. Thank YOU!!! :)

Lucario and Krookodile are both weak against fighting, so opponents would have a major advantage over you if they happen to have a fighting-type on their team. If you include Lapras, then you'd be even more vulnerable to them, unfortunately. ;o; Due to that, you should probably go with Samurott. It might not be as good defensively, but it's got better offense, though, and it's also slightly speedier.

It's the main series, though. He can just use Espeon. I definitely say Samurott, though. It's stronger, and I'm sure it can learn an Ice-type move. I know Ice is kind of a necessity in the series, though. So if you can't find another Ice move, then keep Lapras.
