I want to play doubles and have half a chance at winning. My singles team is great, but it's really only suited for singles. I want a sun based team because I've never really used Pokemon that compliment each other in doubles and I think it's a good place to start.

Here's what I have so far.

Ninetales
Ability: Drought
Item: Heat Rock
Nature: Modest/Timid
EVs: ?
-Will-o-Wisp
-Hex/Dark Pulse
-Energy Ball
-Flame Burst

Just the setup for Sunny Day. Energy Ball is for Water, Rock and Ground types, assuming it lasts long enough.

Charizard/Mega Charizard Y
Ability: Solar Power/Drought
Item: Charizardite Y
Nature: Modest/Timid
EVs: ?

-Heat Wave
-Solarbeam
-Rock Slide/Brick Break
-Focus Blast

Another potential Sunny Day setter. Heat Wave hits both Pokemon and Solarbeam is for Water, Rock and Ground types my opponent might use. Rock Slide or Brick Break are there for surprise. Focus Blast is there because Charizard doesn't have a very good Special movepool.

Venusaur
Ability: Chlorophyll
Item: Leftovers
Nature: ?
EVs: ?

-Sludge Bomb
-Solarbeam
-Double Edge/Earthquake
-Toxic

Sludge Bomb for Fairies, Solarbeam because it doesn't require charging in the sun, Toxic because I'm mean and I don't know whether to pick Double Edge or Earthquake for the final move.

I don't know what my other three Pokemon should be, but I really want to use Meowstic if possible. Thanks for the help!

Ninetales has better coverage options than Hex and Dark Pulse. Heat Wave is better than Flame Burst in doubles because it targets both opponents specifically, as opposed to hitting one target, then chipping away a small amount of health on the other:
-Heat Wave/Flamethrower
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Will-o-Wisp/Energy Ball
-Protect
Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Focus Sash/Charti Berry/Shuca Berry/Heat Rock
Ability: Drought

Charizard may as well as use near max Special Attack/Speed here:
-Heat Wave
-Solar Beam
-Overheat/Ancient Power
-Protect
Nature: Timid/Modest
EVs: 244 SAtk/12 SDef/252 Spe (avoids the OHKO from Wash Rotom's fully invested Thunderbolt)
Item: Charizardite Y

Double battles tend to be fast-paced, so the opponent may be KOed before they even succumb to the full effects of Toxic. Sleep is much more potent in doubles, so Sleep Powder > Toxic. Protect is pretty much a given in multi formats for a variety of reasons: to protect a Pokemon you may need while its partner deals with its counter, avoiding getting hit by a spread move, etc.:
-Giga Drain/Energy Ball/Solar Beam
-Sludge Bomb
-Sleep Powder
-Protect
Nature: Modest
EVs: 204 HP/252 SAtk/52 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll

If you want to use Meowstic, the male is the better one for the job, since Prankster gives priority to its status moves:
-Safeguard
-Swagger
-Thunder Wave/Reflect/Charm
-Psychic/Fake Out/Light Screen
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/196 Def/60 SDef
Item: Mental Herb/Sitrus Berry
Ability: Prankster

Unfortunately, I don't really understand how to insure that Ninetales gets Hidden Power Ice, so maybe another move would work?

My team has been modified to look like this.

Ninetales

Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe
Item: Focus Sash/Heat Rock
Ability: Drought

-Heat Wave
-Energy Ball
-Protect
-?

Charizard

-Heat Wave
-Solar Beam
-Ancient Power
-Protect
Nature: Timid/Modest
EVs: 244 SAtk/12 SDef/252 Spe
Item: Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power/Drought

Venusaur

-Solar Beam
-Sludge Bomb
-Sleep Powder
-Protect
Nature: Modest
EVs: 204 HP/252 SAtk/52 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll

Meowstic

-Safeguard
-Swagger
-Thunder Wave
-Psychic
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/196 Def/60 SDef
Item: Mental Herb/Sitrus Berry
Ability: Prankster

Any ideas what the other two Pokemon should be? I'd rather have a team that isn't completely weak to water...

How do you plan to deal with SubTran?
I was thinking of adding a Pokemon with Earthquake for Fire and Rock types. I still don't know what that Pokemon will be yet. I also want to use an Eeveelution if possible.

The only Eeveelution that could work on a sun team would be Leafeon. As for an Earthquaker, Garchomp's usually nice.

You could run Sylveon as your Fairy type. It doesn't benefit from the sun, but Fairies don't benefit from the sun in general. I don't know what would be a good doubles set for it though; doubles isn't my forte. I do know a doubles Garchomp set though:

-Garchomp w/Life Orb or Yache Berry
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 Sp.Defense
Moves: Dragon Claw, Earthquake, Rock Slide, Protect

Okay, my team now looks like this.

Ninetales

Nature: Modest
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spe

Ability: Drought

-Heat Wave
-Energy Ball
-Protect
-?

Charizard

-Heat Wave
-Solar Beam
-Ancient Power
-Protect
Nature: Timid/Modest
EVs: 244 SAtk/12 SDef/252 Spe
Item: Charizardite Y
Ability: Solar Power/Drought

Venusaur

-Solar Beam
-Sludge Bomb
-Sleep Powder
-Protect
Nature: Modest
EVs: 204 HP/252 SAtk/52 Spe
Item: Life Orb
Ability: Chlorophyll

Meowstic

-Safeguard
-Swagger
-Thunder Wave
-Psychic
Nature: Bold

-Rock Slide
-Protect
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Attack/252 Speed/4 Sp.Defense
Item: Yache Berry

It's gonna be a real pain getting a Jolly Garchomp. I caught a Bold Espurr in a Friend Safari [Lucky!] and I have a Modest Abra to locate a Modest Charmeleon and Ivysaur in other Friend Safaris. I hatched a male Modest Flash Fire Vulpix, so I need to breed it with one of my female Drought Vulpixs.

I have my main team down, does anyone know if I need a sixth member or can I choose whatever I want for it? Also what should Ninetales' last move be?
